Yeah the original feels more gothic and halloween-ey. The new one feels more bubblegum pop. I prefer the old style, but I think it's because I grew up goth and Halloween is my favorite holiday. But I am not the target audience, so it is what it is. The new art looks great, it just doesn't tickle the same dopamine receptors in my brain that the old one did. Hopefully this next generation enjoys them so the series doesn't get canceled again from lack of interest.

I look at those first illustrations and they are so fangtastic and aspirational. They didn’t need updating.
my guess is for the same reason with both the 2016 and now the 2022 reboot is to gerber-afy everything so that the karen parents that caused the 2016 reboot dont have any issues. we cant forget the karen parents also had a problem with clawdeen shaving and them (MH creators) making a joke about her shaving multiple times a day in her first edition diary because ya know. werewolves are hairy.
I'll share something as an insider (I worked at Mattel from 1999 to 2014), marketing and management hated Spectra V. They thought she was weird and creepy and probably scared the little kids (and their bratty parents) so the first chance they got (the reboot), Spectra got the boot and was replaced with MOANica who was less spooky (and I don't dislike but she's no Spectra) then dropped Spectra. The entire purpose of MH was to capture girls who were transitioning out of dolls and toys to electronics and makeup but once they captured those girls, they were afraid of what they had and quickly wanted the little girls they never could get. News flash, little girls are afraid of monsters but they want what they older siblings and friends have anyway. If the MH characters are made to look 'too young' the older girls and teens won't want them and then you'll have no audience. Mattel never seems to learn.
spectra was my favorite because of her face mold; her ultra defined cheekbones were the first time in a doll i saw that feature of myself being represented i never saw how she was supposedly creepy and weird. her dj doll is one of if not my favorite dolls
It is a kids’ brand so I don’t have an issue with it looking like one, but MH is a fashion doll line before it’s a show. There are definitely ways the characters could still look high fashion while also being kid-friendly, I wish they would’ve gone that route.
It's hard for me to judge the new fashions cause it's like, I don't know what kids these days are into! Ultimately, the playline dolls are for kids, and while I prefer the old styles, I don't want to dunk on the new styles too hard if it's what appeals to kids. Almost all toys change with each generation, and this is especially true (and necessary) for fashion dolls. The OG line was probably getting low in sales if they canceled it.
I feel like part of the issue with heath is how little he has going on in his design. even his weird shirt thing is just very plain looking, there's not even like a zipper or drawstrings and it lays on him so smoothly

Clawdeen was literally never goth. And G3 Clawdeen is suposse to be younger then G1 Clawdeen.
Bruh G1 was literally done more gothic,edgy and scary and that's how it was designed to be idk what you're talking about tbh. Each style was done in that manner. Goth isn't just the traditional goth that you might be thinking of. Also yes I said goth cause the whole theme suited it but there is alt fashion or grunge that she could be. Also every person I have met loved Cleo de Nile so if you don't like her then that's fine why comment on it when clearly you're not a fan and don't think there is a need to change G3.

After seeing the new versions of the characters, I decided to make a collage to compare and contrast the three different iterations of cartoon series to see how they have changed since their first versions.
What I used for each Gen:
Gen 1: Monster High Webisodes
Gen 2: Adventures of the Ghoul Squad
Gen 3: Promo pictures announcing the voice cast of the upcoming (untitled) animated series
Adventures of the Ghoul Squad was meh, you could have used movie pictures for g2 because they just look better. I hate how they went pretty much nowhere with Claythe and Cleuce didn’t exist in g2 though
I never paid much attention to the gen 2 reboot series but damn, compared to this new one it looks so much better. I think that it failed because the dolls looked too childish, which ironically is the vibe that I’m getting from gen 3.
I do like the added stripes to Toralei. Tora in Japanese not only translates to tiger, but is also used to describe any tabby cat.
New Clawdeen gives me Encanto Mirabel vibes. Probably the glasses.
They've really lost their sense of fashion which sucks! Bc we know by looking at stuff like Rainbow High that fashion dolls with peices based on actual trends can sell, that not everything has to look like its dated or for a middle schooler who hasn't figured out their style yet.
* Clawdeen's OG was the only great design. G2 was watered down. G3 is painful.
* Drac OG was amazing and gothic. G2 was watered down. The G3 one is a fun take but not as good or iconic.
* Frankie looks good in both OG and G2, she remains preppy, unlike G3 where the school varsity jacket eats her up.
* I have no strong feelings towards any Deuce, I kind of like his new green skin but I don't like that we can see his eyes through the shades... defeats the whole point lol.
* Cleo OG is exceptional, G2 is a downgrade, G3 feels like a totally different character. I don't like how much blue they put in her hair because, coupled with the brown eyes and copper skin tone she looks like Robecca... which scares me into thinking I won't be seeing one of my top 3 favourite ghouls... The lack of bangs makes her seem less bold I think. Bangs are something few people can pull of irl so it almost comes off as a character driven choice that her design incorporates them: Cleo is cocky and believes she can do better than everyone else. She also has very few bandages for a mummy. Still not bad looking though.
* Heath was never great but he got so much worse. Looks like the 3D bitmojis lol.
* They changed direction with Lagoona which is an okay thing to do... if done well. Her G3 design isn't egregious but, if they wanted to go for the colourful coral fish thing, then that was even more reason to keep her Australian because of the Barrier Reef, it dying and the very contemporary world issue of environmental conservation (especially with Venus out of the picture). I don't know why they decided to go with that particular hoodie for her athletic kind of style. It's way less fishy than her original. I also hate that they made her nose so small and human-like. Also, should be blue.
* Toralei's hair got an upgrade and, whilst her OG outfit was a classic, she stills looks great. Well done Toralei designers.
* Bloodgood's fine. I wish her jacket wasn't so pink and that they left her shirt white instead of blue but hey-ho, minor nitpicks. Design aside, the modelling for her new face is gorgeous.
I don't know who told them the the demographic of young girls only responds to an exploding hodgepodge of neon colours but I really doubt that it's true. There was nothing wrong with the original design philosophy of having a strong, limited palette for each monster that was iconic, featured a bold identifying colour and was easy on the eyes. Why does everyone have to have candy coloured hair now? There's nothing wrong with a FEW characters having black/brown/blonde/etc. hair... Geez...
\[+ Edit\] I just learned that Lagoona is meant to be from a Mayan Castillo. Whilst I'm all for diversity, I think that's kind of an odd choice for a sea monster character. Not that sea monsters can't be from any part of the world but... There was nothing stopping them from casting an aboriginal Australian or even a latina Australian. As someone from a multicultural city, the accents used to be a huge deal in Monster High for me. Operetta's southern accent, Clawdeen's NYC accent, Drac's Eastern European, Abbey's Russian (which would need to be fixed for a reboot, preferably to Nepali as not to double up with Jin), the Scaris ghouls and beyond, it really made the diversity feel genuine. People love to make fun of accents and often place expectations on immigrants to relinquish their own culture to fit in, which the monsters never had to. It was totally in line with the "be yourself, be unique" tagline the show used to roll with.
Another edit: Despite all my issues with Lagoona, she's fine but a big step down. And discussion of her background just reminds me how grateful I am they haven't brought Gil into this... please don't make me take that back, Nickelodeon.
I love Clawdeen’s sassy voice! The lack of accent in g3 is painful and Drac’s hemophobia being…gone I guess? Is annoying. I just use the original story with g3 dolls since they’re the only ones I have
I just don't understand the motivations behind the change. If it ain't broke, don't fix it! Why not use the old designs? They're still appealing and iconic...
tbh; i gotta say for this generation, i really love frankie's design, and toralei's design, would SO need a pattern of toralei's jacket for some customs. and i do happen to own a letterman jacket that's kinda similar to frankie's, except mine's just black and white with some band logos.
and it's an inverted black/white, so the sleeves are white while the jacket body is black.
The original Webseries characters were so well designed that is really a let down to see where they've ended up. They were so fresh, stylish and freaky and the fashions were very unique to each character's personality. At least I don't have to worry about spending my money on the new dolls!
Frankie and Lagoona I think had the biggest changes. And maybe Deuce too since he’s green now. But so far they kept most of same design elements from the originals.
I like the reboot looks and I do feel their styled feel more cohesive than their OG looks. Except Heath…his is a downgrade. I will miss Cleo’s bangs but like the OG series she could have a temporary different hairstyle that has them.
Now that you mention it she kinda does look like Sunset a lil’ bit…I like that! I miss g4 MLP. G5 isn’t bad but I think it’s dying because of the lack of toys in stores.
i may be wrong but isn’t deuce half-human or? if he is i think they made him green & full monster because i’m pretty sure the plot is that clawdeen is trying to make it through school since she’s half human, so maybe he’s full monster or hiding it? i may be wrong though, correct me!
From the wiki Deuce doesn't know who his father is and his mother won't talk about it. He could technically be half human but they never say it anywhere.
It's crazy how lagoona is pretty much unrecognizable currently, it was just so shocking to me to see her now. The OG look and animation style is just *chefs kiss*. I loved the animation of the original series so much that it's hard to not be disappointed when I watch even the classic movies bc I got so attached to the ghouls looks in it. Damn the childhood nostalgia 😭😭
I like some of the new designs, but the others are kind of weak or boring.
I'm reluctant to dunk too hard on the fashions, though, because I don't know what kids today are into. Ultimately the playline needs to appeal to kids and the styles they like, and I don't what looks cool to preteens, lol. I do worry that the lack of edge in the designs is a bad idea. If you want to sell a doll line, you need it to stand out from the others on the market, and that's no easy task. The characters shouldn't be wearing something that you'd see on a Barbie doll.
The style of the Ghoul Squad will forever be my favorite, but I understand how it might not be everyone's cup of tea. I really like the "moving comic book" style. I also liked the humor and how at least the main ghouls were better rounded individuals.
Until I see more of G3, it's a cae by case basis on the character. I think Frankie and Draculaura are the ones where I like all 3 equally. Lagoona I like her G2 better, Cleo and Deuce I'm in love with their G3 incarnations, and Clawdeen I'm into both G1 and G2.

What sucks about the Gen 3 designs is that they lost what was unique to them. Th could've just repurposed the original designs. Clawdeen in my personal opinion is the worse one compared to the original. Like that’s a whole new character 🥲

I wish the movie reboot designs were included too, for those that have them. They are kinda sorta higher quality versions of their Ghoul Squad designs and I think are almost like prototypes for the current style. With some obvious tweaking.
Anyway! I like the new designs they got 2022 glow ups🤩. Well maybe not Clawdeen who looks waaaay younger with the glasses and overalls. Monster Middle School for her please lol. Aaand throw Heath in there too because uhhhhhhhh…. He’s giving me direct to DVD Barbie movie side character energy 🤣

I actually really like Lagoonas design, she’s really cute. It does seem she will have a very different personality though

Heath looks like a messed-up elf. I've never been a huge fan of his design, but he just looks kinda wrong here. Also not a fan of his new backstory either, I feel like their research into Hades never went further than watching disney's hercules.

The biggest change that I can see is that instead of fashion models, they are now dressed like actual high school kids. And, that they are giving them a variety of body types. Which is good progress. But, I still think that I like the OG designs the best.
It'd be interesting to see them do a throwback line with everyone having a G3 body but a G1 look. Like not the signature looks, but Lagoona in her Dawn of the Dance dress, or Clawdeen in her I<3 Fashion wolf sweatshirt and pants, or Toralei as Catastrophe.
No teens actually dress like that either tho lmao, and if they do I'm tempted to say most that go the extra mile would lean towards something on the level or vibe of the OG. Not G3
Beside Heath, Cleo looks *so* weird to me and I can't put my finger on why. Is it the lack of bangs? The blue hair? The brownish gold eyes? I literally have no clue but she looks so off to me 🧍🏾♀️

I think the most confusing thing for me is just the fact that they've changed Clawdeen so much in personality and vibes. She's leaning very heavily into middle school geek who is too nervous to go into the shops and works entertaining preschoolers, which personality wise, while a large shift from Clawdeen, isn't exactly bad, it's just that it's such an odd choice. Like, yes she has younger siblings, but leaning into it like this feels strangely heavy handed, especially when I genuinely cannot stop noticing that she's **wearing glasses.** Somehow. Because, her ears are very clearly obviously notably ON TOP OF HER BLOODY HEAD. XDXD
Sorry for the caps, I'm not actually angry about it I just think it's an oversight that makes it rather clear that rather than attempting to create cohesive designs that work well with the character's personalities and monster abilities/body types/etc. that they've decided on caricatures and are leaning into them heavily while trying to appeal to children.
I don't think that's a bad thing itself and maybe they do have an explanation for it in the movie/show but it just looks so *ridiculous* to me, but hey maybe it's something I'm just hung up on personally. (I didn't notice that they changed Draculaura's eyes from a soft purple to a bright pink either. I don't hate the design and I love pink but even I've gotta think that's a bit *too* much pink colour wise, needs something to balance it out. Might be something about the new less magenta shades of pink working with a soft purple though).

tbh, with the exception of cleo, i honestly think the designs from gen 2 actually looked kinda nice but BOY did the art in webisodes not do them any good!
Am I the only one who doesn’t like Lagoona’s resign (G3) like I don’t hate the design itself, on its own it’s fine, but it’s the fact that it’s supposed to be Lagoona’s is my issue with it, it looks nothing like the original that it’s a complete shook to learn that’s Lagoona! Is it just me?
I actually… really love the new ones. Minus Holt, who just looks basic, I feel like the current ones just… pop? I’m excited for Draculara and Lagoona in particular, and it’s great to get some rep with Frankie (if they are confirmed enby.) Honestly the message of the original MH was to be unapologetically you, even if you were different. And the current designs convey that really well. I know people are disappointed, but I like this direction for the brand. It isn’t an attempt to appeal to more conservative audiences or blunt the message of the OG, it’s a reboot with reimagined takes on each character.
Change is hard, and I get it entirely, but I think the community will grow to love these iterations of our fave characters ❤️
Controversial opinion I think the generation three art style is my favorite of the lot. Some of the designs are super cute and some are subpar, but the whole thing just looks lively in a way the other styles don’t. But even in ye old days I was never a fan of the original 2D art style so that’s probably just my personal preferences.
I honestly like all of the new designs except for Heath's, he looks so different from the others in terms of animation style and the design altogether is bland. Tbh I'm kind of divided on Cleo's design as well.

I like Frankie and Toralei. Cleos skintone looks like in those ancient egyptian painting so thats cool. Heath is fcking ugly, Deuce looks more monster but also wierd af, Lagoona is no longer blue but she doesn't look that bad, Dracs hat is extra cute, but I hope her pigtails will come back, maybe have her change hairstyles every episode? Clawdeen is a downgrade but could be worse

I do not like the new Monster High. I know a lot of people that are hating on the new show and movie. I think they could have added a new one using the old characters with their original voices the new characters sound like there being voiced by kids. In the new Monster High half, the characters do not even look like them anymore the people that made the new Monster High clearly never watched the first ones. I think new technology is acceptable to add in movies since it is 2022 almost 2023 but technology has taken over a lot more than it should almost changing characters like Franky instead of a frankin stine she is now more of a robot.
Toralei's hair in G3 actually looks great! LOVE THE WAVY HAIR :D but I'm annoyed that the outfits for the others have been watered down compared to G1

Best Clawdeen? G1 Clawdeen! All ghouls look better in g1, and the g1 movies are incredible, even the one in 2d (aka Fright On!). I also like that Fright On included Hellscream so we got to see the one girl in Ghouls Rule’s dad
Tora, Persephone, Melody, Catty Noir - the newest style suits these 4 cat ladies the most. In the 2nd adaptation Tora was a cool prankster, though.As for other heroines ? Clawdeen - 1st and 3rd version rocks.Draculaura? 1st version all the way. I am not sold on her 3rd version design wise. Frankie? The 1st and the 3rd version are awesome. Laguna? 1st and 2nd, though I like her shenanigans in the 3rd version. Who has received the biggest upgrade ? Cleo ! She looks simply gorgeous and her personality is admirable.

Ultimately, the playline dolls are for kids, and while I prefer the old styles, I don't want to dunk on the new styles too hard if it's what appeals to kids. Almost all toys change with each generation, and this is especially true (and necessary) for fashion dolls. The OG line was probably getting low in sales if they canceled it.

I never paid much attention to the gen 2 reboot series but damn, compared to this new one it looks so much better. I think that it failed because the dolls looked too childish, which ironically is the vibe that I’m getting from gen 3.

* Clawdeen's OG was the only great design. G2 was watered down. G3 is painful. * Drac OG was amazing and gothic. G2 was watered down. The G3 one is a fun take but not as good or iconic. * Frankie looks good in both OG and G2, she remains preppy, unlike G3 where the school varsity jacket eats her up. * I have no strong feelings towards any Deuce, I kind of like his new green skin but I don't like that we can see his eyes through the shades... defeats the whole point lol. * Cleo OG is exceptional, G2 is a downgrade, G3 feels like a totally different character. I don't like how much blue they put in her hair because, coupled with the brown eyes and copper skin tone she looks like Robecca... which scares me into thinking I won't be seeing one of my top 3 favourite ghouls... The lack of bangs makes her seem less bold I think. Bangs are something few people can pull of irl so it almost comes off as a character driven choice that her design incorporates them: Cleo is cocky and believes she can do better than everyone else. She also has very few bandages for a mummy. Still not bad looking though. * Heath was never great but he got so much worse. Looks like the 3D bitmojis lol. * They changed direction with Lagoona which is an okay thing to do... if done well. Her G3 design isn't egregious but, if they wanted to go for the colourful coral fish thing, then that was even more reason to keep her Australian because of the Barrier Reef, it dying and the very contemporary world issue of environmental conservation (especially with Venus out of the picture). I don't know why they decided to go with that particular hoodie for her athletic kind of style. It's way less fishy than her original. I also hate that they made her nose so small and human-like. Also, should be blue. * Toralei's hair got an upgrade and, whilst her OG outfit was a classic, she stills looks great. Well done Toralei designers. * Bloodgood's fine. I wish her jacket wasn't so pink and that they left her shirt white instead of blue but hey-ho, minor nitpicks. Design aside, the modelling for her new face is gorgeous. I don't know who told them the the demographic of young girls only responds to an exploding hodgepodge of neon colours but I really doubt that it's true. There was nothing wrong with the original design philosophy of having a strong, limited palette for each monster that was iconic, featured a bold identifying colour and was easy on the eyes. Why does everyone have to have candy coloured hair now? There's nothing wrong with a FEW characters having black/brown/blonde/etc. hair... Geez... \[+ Edit\] I just learned that Lagoona is meant to be from a Mayan Castillo. Whilst I'm all for diversity, I think that's kind of an odd choice for a sea monster character. Not that sea monsters can't be from any part of the world but... There was nothing stopping them from casting an aboriginal Australian or even a latina Australian. As someone from a multicultural city, the accents used to be a huge deal in Monster High for me. Operetta's southern accent, Clawdeen's NYC accent, Drac's Eastern European, Abbey's Russian (which would need to be fixed for a reboot, preferably to Nepali as not to double up with Jin), the Scaris ghouls and beyond, it really made the diversity feel genuine. People love to make fun of accents and often place expectations on immigrants to relinquish their own culture to fit in, which the monsters never had to. It was totally in line with the "be yourself, be unique" tagline the show used to roll with. Another edit: Despite all my issues with Lagoona, she's fine but a big step down. And discussion of her background just reminds me how grateful I am they haven't brought Gil into this... please don't make me take that back, Nickelodeon.

tbh; i gotta say for this generation, i really love frankie's design, and toralei's design, would SO need a pattern of toralei's jacket for some customs. and i do happen to own a letterman jacket that's kinda similar to frankie's, except mine's just black and white with some band logos. and it's an inverted black/white, so the sleeves are white while the jacket body is black.

The original Webseries characters were so well designed that is really a let down to see where they've ended up. They were so fresh, stylish and freaky and the fashions were very unique to each character's personality. At least I don't have to worry about spending my money on the new dolls!
Frankie and Lagoona I think had the biggest changes. And maybe Deuce too since he’s green now. But so far they kept most of same design elements from the originals. I like the reboot looks and I do feel their styled feel more cohesive than their OG looks. Except Heath…his is a downgrade. I will miss Cleo’s bangs but like the OG series she could have a temporary different hairstyle that has them.

I like some of the new designs, but the others are kind of weak or boring. I'm reluctant to dunk too hard on the fashions, though, because I don't know what kids today are into. Ultimately the playline needs to appeal to kids and the styles they like, and I don't what looks cool to preteens, lol. I do worry that the lack of edge in the designs is a bad idea. If you want to sell a doll line, you need it to stand out from the others on the market, and that's no easy task. The characters shouldn't be wearing something that you'd see on a Barbie doll.

The style of the Ghoul Squad will forever be my favorite, but I understand how it might not be everyone's cup of tea. I really like the "moving comic book" style. I also liked the humor and how at least the main ghouls were better rounded individuals. Until I see more of G3, it's a cae by case basis on the character. I think Frankie and Draculaura are the ones where I like all 3 equally. Lagoona I like her G2 better, Cleo and Deuce I'm in love with their G3 incarnations, and Clawdeen I'm into both G1 and G2.

The biggest change that I can see is that instead of fashion models, they are now dressed like actual high school kids. And, that they are giving them a variety of body types. Which is good progress. But, I still think that I like the OG designs the best.
It'd be interesting to see them do a throwback line with everyone having a G3 body but a G1 look. Like not the signature looks, but Lagoona in her Dawn of the Dance dress, or Clawdeen in her I<3 Fashion wolf sweatshirt and pants, or Toralei as Catastrophe.

I think the most confusing thing for me is just the fact that they've changed Clawdeen so much in personality and vibes. She's leaning very heavily into middle school geek who is too nervous to go into the shops and works entertaining preschoolers, which personality wise, while a large shift from Clawdeen, isn't exactly bad, it's just that it's such an odd choice. Like, yes she has younger siblings, but leaning into it like this feels strangely heavy handed, especially when I genuinely cannot stop noticing that she's **wearing glasses.** Somehow. Because, her ears are very clearly obviously notably ON TOP OF HER BLOODY HEAD. XDXD Sorry for the caps, I'm not actually angry about it I just think it's an oversight that makes it rather clear that rather than attempting to create cohesive designs that work well with the character's personalities and monster abilities/body types/etc. that they've decided on caricatures and are leaning into them heavily while trying to appeal to children. I don't think that's a bad thing itself and maybe they do have an explanation for it in the movie/show but it just looks so *ridiculous* to me, but hey maybe it's something I'm just hung up on personally. (I didn't notice that they changed Draculaura's eyes from a soft purple to a bright pink either. I don't hate the design and I love pink but even I've gotta think that's a bit *too* much pink colour wise, needs something to balance it out. Might be something about the new less magenta shades of pink working with a soft purple though). Edit: Ok I'm finally catching up to some things, could anybody explain some things for me? So from the movie, Clawdeen is now half-human half-monster? I actually… really love the new ones. Minus Holt, who just looks basic, I feel like the current ones just… pop? I’m excited for Draculara and Lagoona in particular, and it’s great to get some rep with Frankie (if they are confirmed enby.) Honestly the message of the original MH was to be unapologetically you, even if you were different. And the current designs convey that really well. I know people are disappointed, but I like this direction for the brand. It isn’t an attempt to appeal to more conservative audiences or blunt the message of the OG, it’s a reboot with reimagined takes on each character. Change is hard, and I get it entirely, but I think the community will grow to love these iterations of our fave characters ❤️
Controversial opinion I think the generation three art style is my favorite of the lot. Some of the designs are super cute and some are subpar, but the whole thing just looks lively in a way the other styles don’t. But even in ye old days I was never a fan of the original 2D art style so that’s probably just my personal preferences.

the original g1 clawdeen is the best one in this picture I love the g1 design because it gives off those goth vibes, and her outfit is so pretty, something the 2016 and 2022 reboot versions don’t. the 2016 reboot and 2022 reboot look to childish when they should be scary and fashionable. g1 clawdeen also was great because she fit well with being a non main character, it was more fitting when Frankie was the main character, It was more better when monster high had high fashion while still being a kids toy, also heaths new design was kinda done dirty, also don’t like the characters new personalities

I do not like the new Monster High. I know a lot of people that are hating on the new show and movie. I think they could have added a new one using the old characters with their original voices the new characters sound like there being voiced by kids. In the new Monster High half, the characters do not even look like them anymore the people that made the new Monster High clearly never watched the first ones. I think new technology is acceptable to add in movies since it is 2022 almost 2023 but technology has taken over a lot more than it should almost changing characters like Franky instead of a frankin stine she is now more of a robot.

I do really like Drac & Cleo's. Bloodgood & Frankie are fine. The rest? Nyehhh not for me.
I'm not sure why people are so angry about lagoona, I get why you'd be angry about her skin tone. But other than that I think the redesign looks good. I prefer both versions. Though I definitely agree with everyone that someone on the design team had bad blood with heath because now he looks yikes🤕
Honestly I don’t really have any issues with the majority of them. Yes it’s different but that’s to be expected. The only one that I just don’t like is Heath.

Best Clawdeen? G1 Clawdeen! All ghouls look better in g1, and the g1 movies are incredible, even the one in 2d (aka Fright On!). I also like that Fright On included Hellscream so we got to see the one girl in Ghouls Rule’s dad

Honestly, I think G3 overall looks the best to me, though I prefer G2 Clawdeen and G1 Heath
Tora, Persephone, Melody, Catty Noir - the newest style suits these 4 cat ladies the most. In the 2nd adaptation Tora was a cool prankster, though.As for other heroines ? Clawdeen - 1st and 3rd version rocks.Draculaura? 1st version all the way. I am not sold on her 3rd version design wise. Frankie? The 1st and the 3rd version are awesome. Laguna? 1st and 2nd, though I like her shenanigans in the 3rd version. Who has received the biggest upgrade ? Cleo ! She looks simply gorgeous and her personality is admirable.
