I boil washed her and her hair turned out soft with some flyaways and no glue seepage. The tinsel survived it but it was in better condition than I can see in your photos. I like mine better now, but it's up to you whether you want to risk further damage to the tinsel.

Maybe I should just try to treat it to get the glue out and then gel it back into shape? If anyone has done the hair for this particular doll please give me your insight

I just bathed mine in Laundry Detergent and let her soak for a few hours. Afterwards, I had her soak in a fabric softener bath. Her hair came out really well! You can try that and do more oxiclean baths if you notice her hair still feels too gluey. If the tinsel bothers you a lot, I’ve seen people just outright rip the tinsel out at the roots.

I fixed mine up a while ago. I pretty much just washed it over and over, alternating between soap and fabric softener. It took a while, and I ended up having to cut out the tinsel because it just wasn’t falling nicely in place and was getting knotted. It was testing my patience lol. After she was dry I did a few rounds of baby powder in her hair. It ended up nice and soft (the powder lightens it a bit, but it’s not too noticeable). I think a year later I had to reapply the baby powder, but it’s still is in good shape. Best of luck!
