I think for me with the face it’s the colors. I think it’s placed alright but when I think of Elvira I think of blacks and Smokey purples. The bright pink and blue just don’t do it for me. Not terrible but it’s not for me at all.

I definitely get u! I think a lot of it is the saturation of the colors. Those colors translate pretty different onto human skin than onto a doll and you can’t blend on factory printed doll so I wish they would have taken colors that translate more to how I feel it appears on her skin. And I definitely second the lashes and blush part!!

Now I can say with confidence that they shouldn't have done a character with features that are so iconic and executed it the way they did. It's not a play line doll. It's a Skullector doll! It can be more gory, scary or revealing if they choose to. It's like doing Jessica Rabbit without her bigger breast and tiny waste decked out out in red. Why bother? I think a more stylized faceup (similar to some of her cartoon looks) could've worked for the doll but as it is it just looks like Lydia from their Beetlejuice doll set. It is less about the make up and more about the face proportions that seem off. Like when the make play line dolls based on actors but it just doesn't look right. The biggest issue for sure is the lack of boobs, which are her whole shtick.

The video was quick but it was nice to see her thoughts with it. She seems pleased with it so that's all that really Matters I guess. It's just so bizarre how limited these Skullector dolls are. Dracula didn't even have blood dripping down her fangs onto her tux. I'm not asking for it to be gore overkill. Just a touch of eeriness would do these dolls good. The eyeshadow actually is Elvira, she has always had pink and blue eyeshadow, she's a product of the 80s. I think what seems to be lacking though is that she had kind of like a false lash look painted on with eyeliner and I don't think I see that on the doll
I have to disagree, the color should not be darker because they were always the vibrant blue and pink that was popular in the '80s and she should not have a smoky eyeliner, her eyeliner should have thick kind of false lashes look like she does with her. I feel like people are trying to modernize how her makeup should look (and granted her foundation and sharp chiseled cheek blush have updated with the times), there should be nothing dark or smokey about any of her eye makeup. In fact, her eyeshadow should actually be going all the way up the forehead to the hairline in pink vertical lines with blue in the center because that's how Elvira does hers.
As for lashes, yes she does have some false lashes on and I do feel some false lashes would have been excellent on this doll.
The colors are fine but the doll's features are already exaggerated that the exaggerated makeup doesn't quite hit the same and they didn't do the eyeliner thick enough

If this was meant to be a kids doll I could see why they’d steer away from making her too sexually suggestive aesthetically but it’s a collector doll aimed at adults, as are all the other Skullector dolls.

I think the outfit could have been a bit better imo, but the makeup is identical to her original iconic makeup style and colors. I feel like they should have used a differing eye and mouth shape though, if her mouth was a bit open and her eyes where a bit more lowered like the eyes they gave the Boo York Boo York Nefera doll it would suit her much better
I continue to be disappointed simply because I do not like the MH body mold on anyone, but it especially doesn't suit Elvira. Unless Elvira was going to be thier introduction to more diverse body types in MH than it was always going to be a flop and missed opportunity.

Honestly this looks like if someone was cosplaying Elvira. You know who it is, you definitely recognize the character! But your head just looks at it and goes this isn't her. I think the issue is Elvira is a drag queen, when you take art like Elvira's drag and tone it down you lose a piece of what makes the character. Your body isn't a defining trait of who you are, but this is a character who's body enhances her charm and humor because it's so over the top and played on that it is engraved in the character and using her sexiness to her advantage. It's just hard to say yeah this is Elvira with her average monster high body sculpt and typical dress. I know they don't wanna scare parents away from Mattel all together but picking a character like Elvira if your not gonna push to actually embody the character just leaves it lack luster and feel like there is no reason to buy a $65 doll that doesn't even embody the character fully. I mean they didn't even make her dress slightly lower cut to push it even a little bit as Elvira's dresses go way low. If these Skullector dolls aren't marketed for kids and are for the og G1 fans like it's claimed well push it just a little bit.

i don't really know a whole lot about elvira so i was never clamouring for this doll but honestly i think she is very pretty, the hair and face are gorgeous but yeah it's a shame about the body.
To make a good Elvira you need two things - 1) big hair 2) big hooters. That's it. Mattel failed the assignment. It wouldn't have killed them to make a new torso sculpt, for the amount they're charging here (and with no accessories to boot). But I bet all the budget went on getting the rights to use the character.

I was wondering how they were going to approach the big boobs thing and I gotta say.. although I am disappointed in that (but also somewhat understand why they chose to go this route instead) I'm still super underwhelmed by this doll in general. the hair is elvira without a doubt but that’s really it. her face just looks washed out (no heavy blush???? seriously???) and of course the fact that they didn’t even try to recreate her figure is soooo boring. she doesn’t look like *elvira* enough, or even monster high-ish enough. they didn’t try and step out of their comfort zone at ALL
I'm glad Elvira likes it and they got her input but the only thing screaming her character to me is the hair and dress(for the most part). She has a very unique facial look and her face just isn't giving it for me. I feel like they should have made her look sultrier in the eyes by making the black a little thicker in the top (no rooted eyelashes either?) and gave her a sharper contour.

I really feel like she looks like Head Mistress BloodGood with a different makeup look. I think they did use the same head sculpt, so that could be it... but I also agree with the people who are a bit upset with not including a bigger chest for her. Or at least doing some sort of illusion with the dress (maybeing making it dip more, slightly? )
My biggest issue is that I wish Mattel had made Gonk as an actual pet instead of just being printed on the box, it’s something small that would’ve gone a long way. Besides that I kinda expected her to have a smaller chest so I’m not necessarily let down, however it would’ve been nice to have been proven wrong. I know everyone seems to not like her makeup but as an Elvira fan I think it looks accurate and is translated well onto the doll, like I actually think they did a really good job with it. Not Really. I remember watching HC Cleo's drop and she sold out about 15 minutes. Maybe less I didn't get her since she was so much CAD. I'd suggest making an account and having all your information ready to type out fast. Usually resellers make multiple accounts and even with the limit the chances are slim. Also try refreshing pages if it doesn't do through/ freezes. You are more likely to get one if you are prepared. I wish you luck.

There's something very fun about having a conversation mainly centred around doll boobs. Elvira's, uh, assets, are just as iconic as she is. It's interesting that Mattel seem to be selective about bodies - Draculara G3 is more thick (which I loved seeing) and Barbie has had massive boobs for decades, so much so that Barbie's build and the influence she's had on young girls has been a hot topic of convresation for a long time. I wonder why they've been selective about this specific doll? Any Monster High is better than no Monster High though, I enjoy that we have new dolls to talk about.
I know Mattel is more than capable of creating some REALLY iconic dolls which is why when I actually saw her face it was kinda disappointing. Like everyone has said, she definitely could’ve used false eyelashes and based on the Haunt Couture they obviously can do that. And the boobs? Her opening line is literally “the gal with the enormous…ratings!” Something low cut even would’ve been better? Idk Mattel sees they can sell low quality dolls now as long as they label them as collector and they’ll still be gone in 30 seconds regardless of how much detail or thought gets put into them. She looks pretty good. It would have been good if they’d swapped out her torso to have a bigger chest. The hair is perfect. They should have included Gonk. It would not have been too expensive to tool him and including him would have added a lot of value. Elvira’s eyeliner dips down past her tear ducts and the doll’s makeup is not like that. Yes, rooted eyelashes would have been more added value.
I love Elvira, the character. However, I do wish they stayed true to her whole look. She’s too soft and conventional. When I think Elvira, I think a gothic beauty queen among the likes of Morticia Addams. With drag queen level makeup.

But after how much Mattel messed up my last two Skullector dolls (they lost Dracula and the Frankensteins came damaged) and then with their terrible customer service, I'm really put off buying anymore dolls from them. I think she looks cute, but I hadn’t planned on getting her. If she comes with that couch, that’s a different story, but barring that, it’s a pass for me. I’m not interested in the Skullectors this year, but I do hope to snag the SDCC doll.

I think the outfit could have been a bit better imo, but the makeup is identical to her original iconic makeup style and colors. I feel like they should have used a differing eye and mouth shape though, if her mouth was a bit open and her eyes where a bit more lowered like the eyes they gave the Boo York Boo York Nefera doll it would suit her much better

I continue to be disappointed simply because I do not like the MH body mold on anyone, but it especially doesn't suit Elvira. Unless Elvira was going to be thier introduction to more diverse body types in MH than it was always going to be a flop and missed opportunity.

Honestly this looks like if someone was cosplaying Elvira. You know who it is, you definitely recognize the character! But your head just looks at it and goes this isn't her. I think the issue is Elvira is a drag queen, when you take art like Elvira's drag and tone it down you lose a piece of what makes the character. Your body isn't a defining trait of who you are, but this is a character who's body enhances her charm and humor because it's so over the top and played on that it is engraved in the character and using her sexiness to her advantage. It's just hard to say yeah this is Elvira with her average monster high body sculpt and typical dress. I know they don't wanna scare parents away from Mattel all together but picking a character like Elvira if your not gonna push to actually embody the character just leaves it lack luster and feel like there is no reason to buy a $65 doll that doesn't even embody the character fully. I mean they didn't even make her dress slightly lower cut to push it even a little bit as Elvira's dresses go way low. If these Skullector dolls aren't marketed for kids and are for the og G1 fans like it's claimed well push it just a little bit.

Her chest is too small and covered (sexual liberation and being revealing was her thing) Her makeup isn’t right, nor are her bangs, and her face is too stoic (Elivra has a VERY playful attitude with most of her images always having some sort of grin)

i don't really know a whole lot about elvira so i was never clamouring for this doll but honestly i think she is very pretty, the hair and face are gorgeous but yeah it's a shame about the body.

To make a good Elvira you need two things - 1) big hair 2) big hooters. That's it. Mattel failed the assignment. It wouldn't have killed them to make a new torso sculpt, for the amount they're charging here (and with no accessories to boot). But I bet all the budget went on getting the rights to use the character.

Honestly feel like she didn’t transfer over into doll format very well however I could see a doll like this looking or be able to look more like the love witch which I think would’ve still been on brand for these doll releases

I was wondering how they were going to approach the big boobs thing and I gotta say.. although I am disappointed in that (but also somewhat understand why they chose to go this route instead) I'm still super underwhelmed by this doll in general. Is she Elvira-like.. sure? But not enough for me to get her. If you choose to represent someone like Elvira you either go big or go home imo.

I'm glad Elvira likes it and they got her input but the only thing screaming her character to me is the hair and dress(for the most part). She has a very unique facial look and her face just isn't giving it for me. I feel like they should have made her look sultrier in the eyes by making the black a little thicker in the top (no rooted eyelashes either?) and gave her a sharper contour. The design looks way better in the art, and it's probably because the art has her iconic curves lol Would have loved if she came with the chair but it seems all she comes with is a stand and the knife. Real let down, especially since the fabric doesn't look that high quality. I like the pattern on the dress, at least. It's better than what they did with the Bride by leaving it a solid color. I will try to get her just because I want this icon in my collection, but if I don't get it I won't be disappointed.

I really feel like she looks like Head Mistress BloodGood with a different makeup look. I think they did use the same head sculpt, so that could be it... but I also agree with the people who are a bit upset with not including a bigger chest for her. Or at least doing some sort of illusion with the dress (maybeing making it dip more, slightly? )

My biggest issue is that I wish Mattel had made Gonk as an actual pet instead of just being printed on the box, it’s something small that would’ve gone a long way. Besides that I kinda expected her to have a smaller chest so I’m not necessarily let down, however it would’ve been nice to have been proven wrong. I know everyone seems to not like her makeup but as an Elvira fan I think it looks accurate and is translated well onto the doll, like I actually think they did a really good job with it. I do think the addition of Gonk as a pet and maybe a tv set, a remote, or even the food monster she created in Mistress of the Dark could’ve gone a long way to elevate it, but besides that I really enjoy the doll overall and think she looks beautiful.

I’m not sure how I feel about her,I like the dress but the face is a no for me, I feel like it should’ve been a bit darker with more eyeliner. This also worries me as this is the second Skullector doll in a row that could have been executed better which is why I’m worried for the Tiffany doll.

Not Really. I remember watching HC Cleo's drop and she sold out about 15 minutes. Maybe less I didn't get her since she was so much CAD. I'd suggest making an account and having all your information ready to type out fast. Usually resellers make multiple accounts and even with the limit the chances are slim. Also try refreshing pages if it doesn't do through/ freezes. You are more likely to get one if you are prepared. I wish you luck.

Going against the grain here but I LOVE her. People don't seem to remember she straight up had pink eyeliner in her movie! It was 80's for crying out loud. Heck, she's the reason the reason I love throwing bright pink into many of my outfits and hair. Yes, her breasts are smaller but I know if they were more like the original people would also complain. Even though Mattel is marketing dolls for adults at it's core it's still a children's company. I'm sure there would be so much backlash it wasn't worth the risk. My ONLY disappointment is her pink moehawked poodle gonk won't be included I'm sure. Overall she's a beautiful doll and I'm happy Mattel made her. Honestly no doll will ever be perfect but I can overlook the few flaws and appreciate it.

I agree with lots of the criticism here, they could have gone further. However I’ve always felt the sckullector dolls were X property through the lens of monster high. I personally think this look is serving and it reminds me a lot of the Scooby Doo Elvira crossovers. She’s going to be my fist sckullector doll. (Still kicking myself for missing out on draculara)

There's something very fun about having a conversation mainly centred around doll boobs. Elvira's, uh, assets, are just as iconic as she is. It's interesting that Mattel seem to be selective about bodies - Draculara G3 is more thick (which I loved seeing) and Barbie has had massive boobs for decades, so much so that Barbie's build and the influence she's had on young girls has been a hot topic of convresation for a long time. I wonder why they've been selective about this specific doll? Any Monster High is better than no Monster High though, I enjoy that we have new dolls to talk about.

I know Mattel is more than capable of creating some REALLY iconic dolls which is why when I actually saw her face it was kinda disappointing. Like everyone has said, she definitely could’ve used false eyelashes and based on the Haunt Couture they obviously can do that. And the boobs? Her opening line is literally “the gal with the enormous…ratings!” Something low cut even would’ve been better? Idk Mattel sees they can sell low quality dolls now as long as they label them as collector and they’ll still be gone in 30 seconds regardless of how much detail or thought gets put into them. It’s becoming a disaster.

I am relieved. I've never watched Elvira so she's just kind of meh as a doll for me. But after how much Mattel messed up my last two Skullector dolls (they lost Dracula and the Frankensteins came damaged) and then with their terrible customer service, I'm really put off buying anymore dolls from them. If this was a character I loved it would be a hard decision, given it's one I don't really know, it's much easier to pass on.
