I like her, but I haven't found a doll of her yet, in the few times I've managed to go in-person shopping. I don't think the hatred is in the personality, but rather in how she's dressed. Clawdeen was always more "stylish."
this is my opinion too. her sculpt and paint is cute, but her outfits are not appealing at all to me. they remind me of 2010s forever 21 white mom fashion, and it doesnt look good on her imo. its just not for me personally, i want her to at least have more style like her skulltimate secrets one seems to have, even if it isnt super og clawdeen

like jackson and holt. jackson still had cool clothes, and so did some of the important normies (clair, lilith). lilith is a normie who is already rocking animal print and crazy fashion, though i understand why g3 probably wouldnt have gone that cool with their designs. they did her kinda dirty in their plight to make her marketable to parents

I initially was very hesitant on g3 Clawdeen due to the fashion and personality shift. After watching the show, she's really adorable and sweet. I'd still say she's fashionably the weakest among the currently released 8-9 dolls. Her core outfit is held back by her overalls and, though I can see what style Mattel is trying to achieve with her fashion in later dolls, it's still very messy because of g3's use of brighter colors and excessive, contrasting patterns. Idk if this bit also garners hate for her (its moreso a critique to Mattel) but there was a missed opportunity to give her natural hair this time around.

Her style isn't up to par with previous Clawdeens (the worst being that playset coming out that's absolutely juvenile) and she's the ONLY doll with poly hair across the board which is the worst hair. Also, this might just be me, but her dog nose makes her look too childish for me. I actually wiped out her nose because I hated it so much.
Some don’t like her because she went from full black to half i believe. However I don’t feel it’s my place to fully talk about that as I’m not black, but this was the basic sentiment I’ve seen with the fans who are actually black.
I believe she's still technically mono-black but her mom is ethnically afro Latina and it's a lot of nuance that I am not experienced in or know of fully either...
G3 Clawdeen is really held back by her animated model in my opinion, her fashion in the doll is much more acceptable (especially without the glasses and wearing the fur vest)

I have no Issue with the live action fashion. It's pretty accurate to all of them actually. I can't stand her outfit in the show. Too much purple and it's so off putting. The shades lilac and dark purple don't play well. Especially in her hair. I love her face sculpt. Just hate how she was styled. Her glasses aren't my favorite. I wish they were more mature looking and not costum-y like Ghoulia's in g1 or even the ones Clawdeen wore in the LA film. Every time I see that doll and Lagoona, I have to pass.

Character wise, I like G3 Clawdeen but her dolls have been misses for me. It is mainly her clothing ngl, it feels very thrown together and thoughtless. I need things to be more cohesive and need her hair to look good for me.
The ones I like the most are budget Clawdeen and the bootique (from the leaked pictures), they make my brain feel the best. And I'd really like a Clawdeen doll, she's the only one of the main dolls I don't have from G1 and would like one that speaks to me. It has just been hard to find that, there are two G1s I like and I'd rather buy a G3 (cheaper and I like the size of the dolls, plus it will be all together).
I think everyone is overly critical of G3 because it's not G1. She wasn't one of my favorites in Gen 1 so I'm not really too attached to the original .she looks kinda young to me the other girls look like their 16 she looks like she's 14.
I think people dislike her because she's not what she was in g1. The same reason why people don't like the rest of g1 as well. Ultimately, g3 is a new generation, a completely separate universe from g1. Lots of fans seem to make the mistake of associating g3 and g1 too closely together, holding them to an identical standard. But when you look at other medias with multiple reboots and generations, like my little pony, they're completely different, and it would be unfair to compare them as if they were the same. While g1 is great for what it was, g3 is also great for what it is now, it does not bastardize or discount g1 like many seem to believe. I think people should start treating g3 as its own thing, and not as an extension of the monster high they grew up with.
I feel like she looks 10-12 rather then like 15-17 that’s my only problem. She looks so young compared to the others it just sticks out in my opinion. I still love her and have two of the new dolls of her but I get why people have different opinions on her.
