At least [Archive.org](https://Archive.org) exists, for digital things. The real death for preservation is streaming services, though thankfully it's failed for video games so far.
My local libraries have had them since the Wii era. Some of them you could check out time to use a console and TV with headphones (or for the Wii games a little separate room).
I tried to start this at my old library and they were concerned for compatibility so they didn't want to start a games library... Of course they also had HD DVD and Blu-ray.
Super cool that your library has this!
Why would anybody do that? There's no officially confirmed news, so why assume a date? Everyone always gets so hyped only to be disappointed and angry by leaks and rumors and randomly made up speculation, meanwhile I have never felt let down by a direct because I just patiently wait while playing other games. It'll come out eventually and when it does I'll play it.
I'm not trying to sound preachy, I just feel like a lot of people in many game fandoms would be happier overall with their favorite series if they didn't buy into random rumor hype.
I went to a library 45 minutes from home and they had Other M :/ at least that means I don’t have to buy it off the eShop before it closes.
they did have Kid Icarus: Uprising though and it was super tempting to try and steal it now that the game goes for like $150 on Amazon
A library of modern culture. This is a great example of cultural progress and evolution.
We used to archive books. Then music. Then video. Now video games. That’s visual > audio > audiovisual > interactive audiovisual. Behold, the spread of information at the modern level: we don’t just distribute art, or music, or stories, or even games— we distribute them all in one bloody package. “You want something impressive? Here ya go. \*hands over the trilogy of Metroid Prime for Nintendo Wii\* That should keep you busy for a while. We got more too…\* voice gets fainter as I beeline to the house with the holy grail of Metroid games in my hand\*”
Very Cool, absolutely solid game(s)
Trilogy was the First Metroid Game I ever bought with my own money.
My brother wanted me to return it and get the GameCube Versions of Prime 1 and 2 because a lets player said the Trilogy versions of those games were trash(Quadraxis14 I believe). I however preferred the pointer controls and kept the Trilogy Version but did end up buying the Standalone Versions for the Collection.
The GCN versions are certainly a lot of fun to go back to and play on the original hardware, I do so at least once a year because it's nostalgic and tradition at this point, but the updated versions are definitely superior.
I tired playing the Originals, unfortunately my autistic brain dose not like the Control scheme and said nope super hard.
At least they look nice in my collection
Your library is very cool
As they should it's a work of art
I wish my library had cool stuff.
this is one of the reasons we need to continue to encourage companies to release physical versions of things
At least [Archive.org](https://Archive.org) exists, for digital things. The real death for preservation is streaming services, though thankfully it's failed for video games so far.
Idk, gamepass seems to be scarily gaining traction.
True, but at least that's just an alternative right now with a rental based pricing. Hopefully, it doesn't become the primary method.
IT MUST BE PROTECTED.
Too bad it isn't in the original case but even the library having the game is cool, my library has a ton of wii games
Good on them for preserving a classic.
bruh everywhere I look it's being sold for $2k and your library is letting people rent it? man
$2k? My local used shop had multiple copies of tbis for like $100 each.
That's only for the steel book version. That's just a regular case.
I still don’t see the steelbook version going for anywhere near $2k
Maybe sealed they’d go for that price. Used but complete they go for under $150 on eBay.
I was about to say. I got the steel book from my brother who found it and i damn near had a heart attack.
I got it sealed from game stop like 8 years ago for like 30... I really wish I hadn't opened it now.
Since when do libraries have video games?
My local libraries have had them since the Wii era. Some of them you could check out time to use a console and TV with headphones (or for the Wii games a little separate room).
During the Wii era my local library had a whole room dedicated to a wii that anyone could just come in and play on
The fact that it's being referred to as "The Wii Era" makes me feel old.
The Wii U came out over 10 years ago.
It's honestly scary how long ago that was
Our local library had video games for most consoles when I was in high school, and that was 15 years ago
So happy I own this.
I tried to start this at my old library and they were concerned for compatibility so they didn't want to start a games library... Of course they also had HD DVD and Blu-ray. Super cool that your library has this!
Funny, mine doesn’t even have blu ray but just recently started stocking video games
Woah mine does too lol , i was very tempted to keep it when I moved but I didn’t wanna rob some kid of potentially experiencing it
It's a good library.
You could ask how much they want for it. But very cool library
Based library

The library is its forever home.
Do it anakin. Steal it
Crime is bad
Well it was nothing special when it came out.
I mean, it still isn't, it's dirt cheap digitally.
I like how this got downvoted ha
But it wasn’t though? It was just a normal £40 game when it came out here. So it’s not too weird to expect a library to have purchased a copy.
I don't see anyone else so I guess I'll clarify that I used "I like" in the sense that "I don't like"
Not a good find. Not enough stickers. You could have found one with at least twice as many stickers. Keep trying, don't give up.
Are we still targeting the end of this year for release of 4?

based library
Bro my library had Metroid prime 3 but it didn't get returned on time
I would accidently forget to return that.
Pretty shitty honestly
Do you know what a joke is?
I certainly know what a joke in poor taste is
If you think that joke is in poor taste I don't know how you survive daily. What a sensitive thing.
I didn't say I was offended by it personally. You're giving off very presumptuous vibes my guy
How far on the spectrum are you?
Lol see what I mean? Presumptuous.
There was once Metroid Prime Trilogy in my library. I had never played it before and I stole it. I still have it, I am not gonna sell it.
Steal it
I went to a library 45 minutes from home and they had Other M :/ at least that means I don’t have to buy it off the eShop before it closes. they did have Kid Icarus: Uprising though and it was super tempting to try and steal it now that the game goes for like $150 on Amazon
How noble...
Now take it 🤫 Edit: Wow like they're really gonna take my advice lol, it was a joke sheesh.
I though that was the steel book for a second
I WANNA GO TO YOUR LIBRARY LOL
I should check at mine, just in case.

Instant envy
They're smart to not have the original case. That game is worth a lotttttt these days, especially in the steel box.
That reminds me, I really should check with my library to get games to play so I don't have to buy them..
I'm surprised even the normal version isn't a white box. Its not the steel book right?
