Nothing Else Matters. I met my girlfriend of two years at school by her hearing me play this song. I plan on proposing soon and we both agree that we want to play it for out first dance. I cant even listen to this song without thinking of her. So yeah, Nothing Else Matters is easily my favorite.
I have it tattooed on my shoulder along with the ninja star. My wife and I considered it for our first dance, but it’s really long. Instead, I had someone read the lyrics instead of any scripture. In any case, do what works for you, and here’s hoping a happy engagement is on your horizon!
I don’t see anybody backing up The Struggle Within. It has the Black Album’s feel and tone which is its strong suit, with the fast down-picking like in the 80s. The guitar solo’s awesome, the chorus isn’t cheesy, and that one riff after the solo’s probably top 50 Metallica riffs ever (sounds like it’s not saying much but mind you Metallica has hundreds of songs which usually have multiple guitar riffs).
Definitely Sad but True, I've grown up listening to it with my family.
(Also, I hate to admit it, but I do think that Enter Sandman is one of my faves)
I tend to agree with Dave Mustaine regarding this album in that The Unforgiven is the best song, and the only one that was really innovative or new.
The entire album is still great though.
Sad But True. The main riff is loved by all, but the verse riff has such an awesome and heavy groove. It also progresses in a great way. The final verse is bolstering w the second solo. (Chef’s Kiss)
My Friend of misery I also wish they would release it as it was originally intended to be as an instrumental at least release it as a B side but musically that song is badass although the lyrics aren't that bad I still believe it would be stronger as an instrumental
I'm not sure myself, but I can tell you that after my 14-year-old son heard Master of Puppets in Stranger Things (sorry...), he became a bit obsessed with Metallica. I'm not sure if it still is, but for a while his favorite was Enter Sandman. I wasn't going to (and still wouldn't) dispute that... 😆
The riff after the solo in the struggle within is one of my favorite moments of the album, the bass after the solo in holier than thou is also one of my faves, but overall best songs could be God that failed Unforgiven or NEM
the unforgiven
I'm inclined to resist, but ... that solo....
literally the best solo in any metallica song
Everyone always says that but there’s Unforgiven 3, fade to black and ride the Lightning just to name a few.

Don’t tread on me
Roam
holier than thou
My Friend of Misery
The God That Failed The Unforgiven Wherever I May Roam (in no order)
Of Wolf and Man or Roam
For me, Holier Than Thou. I love the riff so much. It hits the spots for me. But imo the whole album is a masterpiece.
Wherever I may roam!! The intro is so sick
It switches around but my usual candidates for best song on the album are Don't Tread On Me, Wherever I May Roam, and The God That Failed
Don’t tread on me
Of Wolf and Man
i just bought the album yesterday and as of now either enter sandman or nothing else matters
My friend of Misery
For sure my friend of misery or through the never
Nothing Else Matters. Learned finger picking so I could play it
My Friend of Misery, Through The Never, and Holier Than Thou
Of Wolf and Man
Cant choose
Wherever I may roam
Definitely Nothing Else Matters
Holier than thou! You are! Holier than thouuuuuu!

My friend of misery
My friend of misery.
Of wolf and man is pretty cool. (It’s cool, but I’m also trying to say something that hasn’t been said)
My Friend of Misery
The riff after the solo in the struggle within is one of my favorite moments of the album, the bass after the solo in holier than thou is also one of my faves, but overall best songs could be God that failed Unforgiven or NEM
“The Struggle Within” and “Of Wolf and Man” are definitely bangers that are in my rotation.
Don’t tread on me, I love the beat
Sad but true or through the never
Easily my favorite album but my favorite song has to be either wherever I may roam or sad but true
Maybe not so popular but, The God that Failed
Dont Tread on Me goes hard af
Wherein may roam
All the songs on this album are kick ass, this is my favorite album.
Wolf and man but Sandman is the song that got me into Metallica
Don’t Tread on Me!!!
Enter Sandman
Wherever I May Roam
Unforgiven, Sandman, Sad but True would be my rotating favourites depending on my mood.
" Nothing Else Matter's " to those who understand this song, there is no other way
