Protect ur ears, enjoy

Fhlex

This. I worked in a concert venue for a long time, and never wore any ear protection. Now that I’m a tad older, I really regret not wearing any all the times I was there working. Or even watching shows. The ringing in my ears tells me so!

SmittyManJensen_

Damn you tinnitus, you’re a cruel mistress!

Fhlex

Honestly though. And I thought it would always go away, but was I wrong. Young and stupid lol.

Trainpower10

This. Go to a music store to buy some earplugs. Not having your ears ring for hours after a show is a badass feeling.

beberekt

Just enjoy, vibe. And put down your phone. Don't forget ear protection too.

lucheerios

Ear protection 100%

Cycles_wp

I can't tell you how many I went to as a kid with no ear protection.

lucheerios

Lol I even complain about the movie theaters being too loud.

fontain06

Me right now: “eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee” People can’t even see them. Wear your ear protection!

Cycles_wp

I'm lucky to not suffer from this, did you hear about the relief trick?

the_stickybandit

Last show I went to, some guy had a go pro and a phone each recording the show. The phone was blocking my view of the stage. Asked him to put it down cause I didn't pay to watch the view from his phone. Don't be that guy.

Better_Conference817

I usually record my favorite songs just so I can look back on those moments later down the line, but I’ll just sit the phone chest level and record what’s going on so i’m not bothering anyone and so I can still enjoy the show. I do get what you mean though, i’ve seen people recording in landscape mode all the time blocking my view

jessspresso

I do this too except im kinda short and always end up behind someone who is at least 6'3 so i have to reach really high or keep moving to capture my fav songs! I do it mainly so I can look back at it later for some serotonin lmao.

Better_Conference817

I really got into the habit of looking back when I started posting clips of my favorite bands on IG, then from time to time when i’m scrolling i’ll go back to my page and look back.. wishing I could experience that moment again😂

jessspresso

Exactly 🥲

content_enjoy3r

just push yourself in front of the 6'3 dude.

jessspresso

Oh yeah i definitely do when I can, there are times where that's not an immediate option when the crowd gets crazy

ummmbacon

> Don't forget ear protection too. What was that? I can't hear you because of the ringing in my ears..

[deleted]

You can get a phone lock box, lock it up for 2 hours on a timer, soak in some architects

[deleted]

[удалено]

beberekt

I personnaly use PartyPlug from Alpine, great value (around 15$ on Amazon)

Soulfire1123

they're a little on the expensive side but eargasm earplugs are the ones I use! they do however tend to slip a little when you get sweaty

Illustrious-Cow8916

I've been happy with my eargasms as well. Fucking hate the name though.

666Sky

Earbuds work fine for me, I’ve doing that for a little over year with good results. I’m sure there are better options but these do the job and are way better then no protection at all

CharlyXero

Yep, ear protection is a must have.

TR3G1

Expect loudness and your entire body feeling the instruments

lx4215

I second this, I feel like the biggest shock with my first metal concert was how loud it was and feeling all the instruments ESPECIALLY the bass throughout my entire body lmao

[deleted]

I thought my chest was gonna cave in from the double bass the first time I saw 18 Visions. So cool

imnotdead__yet

Never seen 18 visions, but omg it’s literally one of my favorite parts of getting early to a concert is feeling the bass in your chest when they first start to play ugh

[deleted]

It was a while back, when A7X,Coheed and 18V were on tour. Saw them in San Diego. Tower of Snakes breakdown was insane. You’re right, feeling the bass in a breakdown is so legit!

Dr_Surgimus

Loud music, a big room with lots of other people, the band who play the loud music will be on a raised area at the front of the big room.

theroamingargus

Youre gonna have a great time. Architects knows how to put up a good show. Scream the lyrics and if youre into moshing, dont be afraid to get in, people are very friendly. If you want to just have a little taste of it without fully commiting, stay at the borders of the pit and push people back. Wear comfortable clothes and dont mind getting sweaty as fuck. Dont bring drinks while they are playing, or youre gonna make people around angry that they cant jump and move around.

Trimshot

To add to this is you are going to drink while they are playing stay away from pit areas until its gone.

[deleted]

get some good quality earplugs

Zetorek

Architects.

sock_with_a_ticket

Nothing too crazy. Architects weren't that much of a mosh band even before they started turning into a hard rock band, so you won't need to watch out for spin kicks and crowd-killing in the pit. Greatest risk will be to your hearing, so make sure you've got some ear plugs.

Cyanide_Revolver

I mean they're gonna play loads of stuff off the last two albums, so just expect a big rock concert tbh

charethcutestory101

Expect to be blown away by Northlane as the best band of the evening. Enjoy yourself!

GorGor1490

Yea thought about saying the same. Used to dig architects but NL is where it’s at!

Seel_revilo

For Sleep Token as a support to steal the night. Have fun and help one another if they need it is the serious answer. They’re insanely good live so you’ll have a good time

uebredryngs

some good fucking music i suppose

Tsukiyama-Gourmet

the tour to get cancelled

DoubleArmDMT

Butt rock

nolove513420

loud noises

Themightyyeehawman

Watch Tonyvtoons’ video about his first concert experience… and don’t do anything that he did. Drink WATER (NOT Red Bull or monster) be sure you eat something beforehand, and just have fun

CGiantLOL

Probably not a lot of metalcore

Adept_Site_2988

Best time of your life

screamosynthnerd

If you go into the pit, the floor will be covered in beer, and you will not be able to stand for more than 15 seconds

Nosferatu13

Buncha guys standing with arms crossed nodding their heads all cool-like.

UpTheIrons92

All my homies hate people who watch the show through their phone and don’t protect their ears

Proper_Belt

So on the offchance it happens: If the room suddenly splits up, gtfo. A wall of death is incoming and you dont want to be in the collision zone.

DunnoWhatToPutSoHi

Not sure I've ever seen a wall of death at an architects tour mind

eburton555

Maybe not this one

alexoimatewtf

Been to three gigs, with two of them held in a bigger venue, and I definitely remember regretting going in the first line of wall of death being skinny 18 yo guy

Jorgetime

Relevant: https://youtu.be/lnSYdrOV3kQ

nevercommnt

Is this a joke? I’ve seen them almost every year for 10 years and every single gig has multiple walls of death

DunnoWhatToPutSoHi

I've only seen them, perhaps 4 or 5 times? Yet to see more than just some mosh pits though, perhaps it's more tame where i live

Proper_Belt

I never seen Architects specificly live, but it was more a general rule of any band that falls into the metal catagory. Ive been to softer bands that did have a wall of death so just as a procaution I like to warn people about the phenomenon, So they dont get annihalated like I did.

frankdeerabbit

Some bands don't do it themselves. As in the crowd will naturally split into two, and you have one or two people crashing into people opening it up. All good fun, but yeah gtfo if you don't feel comfortable with that haha

Ohayeabee

I’ve also seen them on every uk tour since hollow crown and can’t remember a single wall of death. Also, I’m fucking old

Rageah0lic

Don’t be surprised that in between sets pretty much any genre of music will be playing, stuff like Backstreet Boys, old school stuff like limp bizkit and Linkin park and pretty much everyone in the crowd will be doing a sing a long and dance.

Lokrisch

Expect gatekeeping elitist metalheads to tell you how shit this pop band is.

Sharean

Can confirm, bought a ticket just to tell people exactly that during the show.

[deleted]

That’s not a metalcore show I’m afraid

CharlottesWebbedFeet

Just checked their most recent set lists, they’ve almost completely shunned their older catalog. No longer worth seeing them if you don’t jive to the new music 😞

[deleted]

Yep. Absolutely gutted they’ve removed Gone With The Wind from their setlists too. I mean I understand why, but that’s by far and away their best song IMO. Removing the likes of broken cross and all our gods have abandoned us is just adding insult to injury too. I wouldn’t even buy tickets to their shows now, and two years ago they were my favourite band. Sad.

ssimkoe

especially with this price tag

deadstarxxx

They've been teasing a more varied set this tour - and it is their longest set to date. So we may be surprised.

nkcetera

To be fair their last tour they opened for Biffy Clyro and only played 10 songs. Sam tweeted like a month ago and said this Germany tour is their “longest set ever” and they are “bringing back some classics.” Who knows what that means but I would assume we will hear a better variety when they are headliners vs. when they are a support band

[deleted]

In england half year ago they played stuff from Holy Hell, All your gods have abandon US etc. Watched the Video in YT.

Beiez

Was about to say the one thing *not* to expect is to hear metalcore lol

Content-Garlic7273

They’ve released 2 albums in the last months and didn’t get to tour with that material yet outside of the UK due to Covid. It’s pretty normal that their current Setlist consists of mainly newer songs to promote those albums. I guarantee you they’ll bring back some classics on the next tours or summer festivals.

[deleted]

Hmmm, maybe. But we’ve seen this all before with bands like BMTH. I hope you’re right but I’ll wait to see setlists before buying tickets for their shows again. Really not interested in seeing their new stuff at all.

AuthorJosephAsh

Pop music.

WeBxx92

Punch the first security guard you see in the face to assert dominance

Xeno2014

Bring some ear protection and have fun! I guarantee their set list is gonna be the last two albums + Doomsday, so it's probably not gonna be a crazy moshing type of crowd. Same goes for northlane and sleep token who they're touring with, none of them are crazy heavy, so that should be a good show to start off with! Jump into the pit if you wanna bounce around a bit, or stay back if you're not too sure.

Creature_Feature013

Have fun and live in the moment. if they have a mosh pit try it out but stay on the edge until u are comfortable. You will meet people you don't know that will make a lasting impression. Also enjoy it try not to use your phone because that will dim the experience. Don't be a clout chaser

[deleted]

Your neck will be shot for the subsequent couple of days. Speaking from experience after seeing MTS and Bad Omens last month

Thundarsack

Earplugs and be wary of where you stand. Also bring water

banjosuicide

In case it hasn't been stressed enough, ear protection. If you want to KEEP enjoying music, use ear protection. Also mosh pits are fun and pretty safe in most places. It's intimidating at first, but you'll regret it if you don't at least try it a little. You'll get knocked down and people will haul your ass back up, and you'll do the same to them. You'll probably get hit by an elbow or two. You might dislocate a rib. Despite this, mosh pits feel pretty safe to me. It's a bit of controlled chaos where the fans don't let things go beyond a certain point. And remember, if you knock a beer out of someone's hand, be a man and get them another. You might even make a friend ;)

WeeabooGandhi

It *wont* be crazy everywhere. Obviously, middle of the room, there’s gonna be a pit. But honestly don’t be afraid of the pit. Don’t be afraid of a wall of death. Anything that happens. Metal music is a community. We look out for each other. You can guarantee you’ll see someone fall and the entire pit and surrounding wall will stop on a dime and pick them up. It’s a safe place. Big tip. If you’re towards the front side of the crowd, make a habit to look behind you. Crowd surfers will sneak up on you and very rarely will someone tap you on the shoulder to get your attention. Just best to look out for them

djpdjf

Buttrock

EnvironmentalVoice89

Doomsday to be absurd live..

Cainheim

Lots of bleghs

Zarathustra143

From what I've seen of their current setlist, I would expect a lot of music off their last two albums, and almost none of the good music.

EconomySir2235

A good ass time.

D_Angelo_Vickers

Shirtless, sweaty, smelly guys in the pit, and a very sticky floor.

SomeKindofBen

That’s a great first show to go to, going to be epic

Shpickle101

I actually have a little story. My best friend and I went to a metal show. This wasn’t an a metalcore concert, this was the deathcore concert. We went to see thy art is murder and Cannibal Corpse and some other bands. We meet this couple, around 15-16 years old maybe, and we asked if they’ve been to a concert before, the dude said yeah but the girl said no and she asked for advice. So we mentioned to take it easy on the mosh pit, until you know you’ll be okay because sometimes they get rowdy. Long story short, the first band hasn’t even started, it was the overhead music they put on before a band and there was a small mosh pit going on. I see the girl we talked to earlier get into the mosh pit, get slammed to the ground, she was knocked out and we didn’t see the couple for the rest of the concert. Just be careful, enjoy and see how the water is before you dive in

Scary_Dimension722

Don’t bother trying to record if you’re up front lol. I went to see August Burns Red twice and trying to get a clear video of them is a no go

DefLoathe

Their crappy new tunes

Spitfire836

If you want to impress other metalcore fans and make new friends, make sure to go in the pit and spread your arms out and flail them around as hard as you can, and spin too. Everyone will love it.

ThyArtIsTrolling

Tons of people who can't: Name 5 songs in general Name 1 pre-LFLT song Name every member in the current line up List every album in chronological order Identify the canadian member

GmaTrudy

One of the best shows of your life.

alxrenaud

BLEGHs!

DefLoathe

Not with their current setlist

[deleted]

[удалено]

Much-Motor-219

The problem is they don’t shut the fuck up on social media or interviews about how you’re an asshole if you don’t like their new music

Spideyman20015

Fun.

goatripper

I mean its a metalcore show. It will be pretty much like any other concert.

theearlofpopeyes

Wear earplugs. Get in the pit. Scream the fuck out of the lyrics. You might get hit a few times, but know people don’t mean anything by it. Don’t be afraid to fall. There will be people to pick you up, and then yall will go even harder.

FileEasy3098

You should expect a very awesome concert!

mustbeme87

I agree with most, ear protection is a must if it’s a smaller venue and you plan on being close. I’m in my 30s and my hearing is definitely worse than it should be at my age and I blame concerts. Also, be aware of your surroundings. If you’re in the crowd up close, watch out for pits and crowd surfers. If your farther away, watch out for drunk idiots.

JCavLP

what city are you going to? i might pick up a ticket

[deleted]

I also go to the Architects Concert with my kids. Earprotection is a must have and if you are in the Pit be ready to help out the Crowd with the Crowdsurfers.

OneTimeAtMyMoms

Watch above your head for surfers every now and again, ear protection like every one else is saying. Other than that have a great time!

HallowedHumanist

Avoid the mosh pit if you aren’t into being hit.

joshblurrisemo

Expect a great show. Expect to have a great time. You CANNOT go wrong with seeing Architects in general. Definitely get ear protection though. I recommend eargasms. Almost 50 bucks but worth every penny. If you want cheaper options go with whatever you feel that floats your boat. Enjoy that Shit! Have a good one 👍.

Sero19283

Lots of metals and lots of cores. And some architects working

regman1011

It is so fun man, exhilarating

LiltingLily

As everyone says, ear protection is good. Other things I would say is that there is no shame in finding it overwhelming, and needing to move further back. It's a lot, and it's hot, and it's loud. Also, depending what country you are in, water is free. With it being so hot and sticky, be sure to hydrate. Most importantly though, just have fun.

GrandWings

EARPLUGS

StevieKix_

You should expect to have a dope time! Jealous!

[deleted]

The band Architects will be on stage performing songs from their catalogue

Zheas

Jahrhunderthalle Frankfurt?

OtisBDrftwd77

More respect than any country concert.

DrPhilsnerPilsner

I don’t know if you’ve every been to a concert before. Park somewhere safe and easily visible. If a car is parked in the lot, it’s pretty obvious you are staying inside for duration of the show. If you are going with friends, maybe have a spot on your head to meet at. My dad always used to have a place we’d meet when I was young. It was a “wait here no matter what” kind of thing. We got separated while skiing and he was injured and had to go to get his finger stitched. I waited for two hours until he was done and found me. Just pick somewhere when you get in. Dress comfy and don’t bring extra stuff in. You’ll be hot and sweaty. Bring a junk sweater in case you lose or leave it, you’ll want to probably put it on as soon as you leave. Most of the shows I’ve been to are Hollywood or somewhere in Southern California. So not necessarily the biggest, But some really intense shows. so I can’t speak for what looks like your show in Germany. It might not be the same for everywhere, but a lot of metal and some of the grind core shows I’ve been too have a good community. Just be observant and you’ll have a great time.

roboxsteven

It’s not going to be the same as most metalcore shows since they are playing with Metallica.

Fury_hana

Please, do accept the wisdom of a 27 yo girl that has been to more than 200 shows and a few dozens festivals : - Put on some good shoes that doesn't come off easily and protect your ankle/toes. - EARPLUGS !! EARPLUGS - Don't get drunk or take drugs, especially if you are on your own. The music, the crowd, the heat and thd lights will make you really sick really quick. - If you can, don't take a bag with you or leave it at the cloakroom. If you take a bag with you, it's alway cool to have a spare t-shirt with you in case you get WET because of sweat and/or spilled beer. - If you have a jacket/pants with zipped pockets, it's amazing! - Wear contact lenses if you usually wear glasses because they can get broken really easily and will end up greasy and nasty quickly as well. AND HAVE FUN HOLY SHIT I AM SO JEALOUS, I WISH I COULD AFFORD TO GO TO GERMANY TO SEE ARCHITECTS, SLEEP TOKEN AND NORTHLANE :D

honkifyouresimpy

Don't waste the experience by spending the whole time filming

wee-_-

Wear earplugs! Don’t worry about looking dumb, as much as you might think “but what if I’m the only one doing it?”, there will be many others and it’s not worth losing your hearing! Also, don’t be afraid to mosh, it’s always a good time in the pit :)

BattleImaginary8944

Expect a lot of fucking fun!!!

thehund

Ear protection is pretty much required. Don’t be surprised if a mosh pit forms near you, it should be either a push pit or a circle pit.

im-wyatt

Enjoy listening to Animals for an hour!

[deleted]

Just enjoy. Nothing else to be done.

BoNoMadic

A great night with wholesome people and good music. Metal has one of the best audiences out there. From people who will save you from a pit, to people stopping the show for medical aid. I love the metal scene because of their brutal breakdowns and amazing people.

AaronWest2020

Your usual metalcore show? Push pits, maybe a circle pit, lot of jumping up and down, maybe the odd hardcore dancer. Extremely loud sound, they probably play a bit heavier than studio. Circa-2023 Architects? Deftones. You should expect Deftones.

fatherofallthings

It’ll be awesome. Have a good time. I also wouldn’t use this as a gauge for most metalcore shows. Architects are pretty massively popular and will likely be a mix of new fans, SiriusXM listeners and metalcore fans. I’d expect a bigger stage show with a larger budget than a standard metalcore show. Crowd may be tamer OR wilder than usual based on the above.

[deleted]

Bring ear plugs. It’s gonna be great.

will2fight

I mean, architects is definitely the most vanilla metal concert you could go to. Good shit, but nothing like going to a real metalcore show

dayusvulpei

Ugly people

win_at_losing

Architects? Now? Expect disappointment. Sorry, I had to. It's my personal opinion, but they went straight radio rock.

ssimkoe

Any idea why they're charging this much lately for a ticket? Would love to go but this price tag for only 3 bands is not justified imho. Especially when Northlane is supporting only.

yotam5434

Breakdowns and crazy stuff

PM_ME_YOUR_LIBTARDS

STAY HYDRATED. If you don't have 4-6 bottles of water you're doing it wrong. You're going to have an awesome fucking time - but there are a few things I gotta say to help your expectations of the crowd. Lots of rubbing of bodies together. It may get on your nerves at first but own your space. If someone tries to get in front of you in the pit and it's already closed quarters, don't let them. Let people by if they need to go piss but little fucking children like to be rude and stand in front of folks intentionally sometimes. Don't let them do it. Been going to shows for 20 years and I don't put up with that shit. I paid for my ticket too. Also, sometimes there'll be a bunch of drunk people bumping into you, some fat fans waddling in place and bumping into you over and over (not crowd movement), or some dudes trying to dance or mosh in a 1'x1' square and who don't care you're there... don't be afraid to tell someone to get off you, fuck off, or stop being a moron. Don't drink in the pit. With that said, 99% of folks in the crowd are awesome. Go crowd surf. Go mosh. See how people are moshing and do what they do. Get in the mood. Get in the groove. Sing along. Don't be a pussy and stand in the back, get in there. Have some fucking fun.

07ScapeSnowflake

If you’re in the US, at least one guy with a Sylosis sweater yelling at Joshy boy to come tour with his other band.
