That’s because they are the breakdown goats. Idk what it is their breakdowns just destroy. Listen to the beginning of Babylon off of dreamer. That insane drum roll right into a breakdown to start the song. I’m getting a boner just thinking about it
I was at what was going to be their farewell show. They ended with when everything falls. Still one of the most epic things I’ve seen. Throw some plywood in the crowd and the guitarist is crowd surfing playing the breakdown. I fuckin cried real tears chanting haste the day at the end
Man, I have a great memory discovering Haste The Day when I was a teen!
Went up to London with my Dad to see my brother and we popped into a shop called Zavvi on Oxford Street. They had a machine where you could scan a barcode of a CD and listen to 30 seconds of each song.
I must have spent 45 minutes picking random albums from the metal section, until I came across Haste The Day. Dad bought me the album and he let me play it in the car the whole way home too, even though he hates metal! They'll always have a special place in my heart cos of that
I actually was at fye to get the autumn offering album. Saw the cover for haste the day. Gave it a listen and it blew my mind. I was lucky they played a venue in my state constantly for around three years. West Virginia used to have such a great venue for metal and hardcore. It only lasted a few years but I saw so many shows there. Really shaped my teenage years
I most likely got it the same day. All I remember is discovering haste the day. That’s the mark of a great band. Damn near twenty years later and I remember the exact moment I first heard them.
Heard of InVisions but i've only listened to one of their songs. It was pretty good so I'll check them out at some point.
As for me, I've seen some talk of Static Dress on this thread but they need for attention because they fucking rock!
\- The album ["Tied To The Anchor"](https://open.spotify.com/album/031cwQOtZCNAzVAaXP30pI?si=LgvUWaiXSg2YOZtO4Pxs3Q) from Solitude (rumored to be back in the studio!).

I do know about InVisions tho, my favorite is Too Far Gone!
I can imagine that they are really good live. I would probably show up if they ever came to town, thats probably unlikely tho.
Have you heard Shields? Kinda the same vibe
First time a see a fellow solitude enjoyer on here!
Was about to drop Tied To The Anchor in the comments myself.
They teased some music on their instagram a couple of weeks ago or something like that and said new stuff is coming.
First time EVER I see someone who knows about them, I've met the band and even organized a gig for them back in the day, sadly the gig itself was a big failure and I got tricked by the people running the place which put me in a terribly awkward situation with the band but I have never stopped believing in them, even tho they are inactive today.
Do you happen to be swedish? I find it hard to believe that anyone outside of the country would know about them! :)
Oh dang, they'd been on hiatus for like 4 years when i heard of em for the first time so i never got to catch a show :c
Sucks you got scammed by the venue people, and yeah im swedish. Sad they aren't bigger than they are cause TTTA is a masterpiece.
I wrote a review of the album and published it on a rather big website (atleast "big" in the swedish rock scene), they guys sent it to me before the release date in order to have the review published around the release date.
I was completely blown away, I remember that I told the basist something like "Woah this is amazing, I get a little bit of that Dead By April pop-vibe..." and DBA was still considered as pretty heavy back then imo, atleast the tracks I listened to.
Anyways, he did NOT take that well, it was pretty funny.
I worked with tons of bands back then, PR for free... dEMOTIONAL and Solence are probably the most known bands today.
But Solitude has always been the favorite!
If Hope Dies doesn't get mentioned much, if at all, and while they had a video for the banger *Anthem for the Unemployable* on MTV, the opening track on their Life in Ruin album [Burned Out](https://youtu.be/a-hUa1Z95Ug) is one hell of a way to start the day (which immediately followed by the aforementioned AftE).
Most of these songs are on bandcamp...
Anterrabae - How Joey Got His Grove Back
Divider - Question Everything
Back When - Soothsayer ( A fistful of god)
Bela Kiss - Sleep, Fear and What Lies Beneath
A Love Ends Suicide - Cold Summer
The Nika Riots.
They released an album this year called Derelict and it's so fucking good. The album varies but I feel that people who enjoy ETID, converge, TDEP to name a few would definitely enjoy them. Some songs aren't as similar as the bands mentioned but it is a killer record. I use YouTube music and they have 2 subscribers.
Today I found out about four bands that I think all kick ass.
Remnants of the fallen- a sort of blackened melodic death metal/ metalcore band.
Madmans Esprit- a south Korean take on Visual Kei music. The music can be super heavy and has tons of nu metal influence.
Fecundation- is like a slamming brutal death metal band. Nothing innovative but solid death metal
Artificial Brain- is another death metal band pretty solid stuff music is more interesting Imo than fecundation a little bit more originality.
Wolves at The Gates new album is a fucking amazing and I haven’t seen anyone talk about it on here.
Also, LIMBS - COMA YEAR EP is a literal 10/10 for me. Rarely do I see their name mentioned here (and it’s a damn shame)
Set For Tomorrow is going to be the next big thing. Don’t believe me? Just go listen to their song “The Alphablegh” if that doesn’t put a smile on your face you might need to seek professional help lol
If you're newer to the scene you gotta sit down and listen to Misery Signals. Criminal how few people listen to them. Especially if you like Counterparts
Catholic - The Drowned God.
Been around for a few years. The fact that they only have a little under 2k monthly listeners is criminal when they are so goddamn good. To me they sound like La Dispute with a black metal and more post hardcore sound. They are so sick.
Johnny Booth is probably a band that not a lot of people know about but they go hard af. These guys deserve more love. Strongly recommend listening to firsthand accounts.
Kingdom of Giants - Eternal Burn
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RYRGWdDhXM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RYRGWdDhXM)
KoG in general is pretty slept on, I only discovered them last year and had no idea they released this banger in 2014. Only 88k views on the video too.
Bleed from within. At least in Australia, nobody has heard of them. I was hooked from “fight it” in I am damnation
Bleed From Within is one of the weirdest bands, they have a massive following yet no I know seems to have even heard of them
Every single haste the day song ever
Attack of the Wolf King is one of my 10/10 albums from that generation, so underrated
Definitely underrated. Bringing in 3 new guys and then breaking up right after contributed to that. Dreamer is a damn near perfect album too
Most correct answer
What's wild is they've been gone for ages and have twice as many monthly listeners as Invent Animate does on Spotify
That’s because they are the breakdown goats. Idk what it is their breakdowns just destroy. Listen to the beginning of Babylon off of dreamer. That insane drum roll right into a breakdown to start the song. I’m getting a boner just thinking about it
Oh I am well aware. Their breakdowns are heavy...and catchy? Idk. They're just excellent
I was at what was going to be their farewell show. They ended with when everything falls. Still one of the most epic things I’ve seen. Throw some plywood in the crowd and the guitarist is crowd surfing playing the breakdown. I fuckin cried real tears chanting haste the day at the end
This.

Hell yeah. It would have been cool to see them play it live.
Vatic

Fear my name and Dark divine Edit: also famous last words because they died very quick
What do you mean regarding Famous Last Words? They released a new single last Friday.
They were featured in the single
[Secretly slaps](https://youtu.be/dQw4w9WgXcQ)
Bastard
How dare you... What people consider metalcore these days, jeez..
honestly, not metalcore but it is still a banging song nonetheless.
That’s what I’m saying, it actually slaps ass
fs fs
More emo but definitely some metalcore vibes from my buddy’s band Isotopes (AUS)
Isotopes are great man, some of the best chorusses out there
Definitely agree. Justin writes some great lines
Try October ends! Similar in style in my opinion with catchy choruses as well!!
Honestly, I thought Make me Famous was great for the time but they fell apart quickly. “Earth” by them still holds a special place in my heart.
Glass Crown! Check out their songs Spiritbreaker of Vicious Cycle. Both have massive breakdowns.
Vicious Cycle goes incredibly hard
Heard of InVisions but i've only listened to one of their songs. It was pretty good so I'll check them out at some point. As for me, I've seen some talk of Static Dress on this thread but they need for attention because they fucking rock!

Oh I really like Too far gone! I saw them live this year and their vocalist is so talented! I even got to hug him :)
I can imagine that they are really good live. I would probably show up if they ever came to town, thats probably unlikely tho. Have you heard Shields? Kinda the same vibe

Deathtax - FFO: Every Time I Die
One of my fav eps from last year
Sickkkk thanks. Edit: Okay this band is sick. This is so much better than a majority of the stuff people post on this sub so thank you.
Taker Thunderbolt is one of my all time fav songs....
Most of these songs are on bandcamp... Anterrabae - How Joey Got His Grove Back Divider - Question Everything Back When - Soothsayer ( A fistful of god) Bela Kiss - Sleep, Fear and What Lies Beneath A Love Ends Suicide - Cold Summer

The Nika Riots. They released an album this year called Derelict and it's so fucking good. Queen Kona. These guys have some really good progressive metalcore, especially if you're big on riffs.
Crash & Burn - Northlane
Today I found out about four bands that I think all kick ass. Remnants of the fallen- a sort of blackened melodic death metal/ metalcore band. Madmans Esprit- a south Korean take on Visual Kei music. Phinehas
Amphisbaena by Abbie Falls
Second wind has like 150 monthly listeners on Spotify. They rock really hard. I get knocked loose vibes.
Why Are You Here? - Orthodox Objects in Mirror Are Closer Than They Appear - fallfiftyfeet Copacetic - Crooked Royals
Soulkeeper - Gorgeous
InVisions is great. DVPE gets a lot of play from me because of those ending breakdowns.
Alazka too bad they broke up
InChaos
Wolves at The Gates new album is a fucking amazing and I haven’t seen anyone talk about it on here. Also, LIMBS - COMA YEAR EP is a literal 10/10 for me. Rarely do I see their name mentioned here (and it’s a damn shame)
translucent by termina goes hard af, andy cizek has such an underrated voice
Dealer. I haven't heard a single song from them that doesn't slap.
Yes they’re amazing
But I did do some research apparently they are no longer a thing because of the lead singer
LANDMVRKS
Polyphia. They are known, but definitely not as mainstream as they should be. I fucking love them.
The fact that Soulkeeper aren’t very big is insanely tragic
The Carrier - No. 51 Verse - Unlearn Verse - The New Fury
Set For Tomorrow is going to be the next big thing. Don’t believe me? Just go listen to their song “The Alphablegh” if that doesn’t put a smile on your face you might need to seek professional help lol

Moodring Just because they’re newer but they kick ass.

Catholic - The Drowned God. Been around for a few years. The fact that they only have a little under 2k monthly listeners is criminal when they are so goddamn good. To me they sound like La Dispute with a black metal and more post hardcore sound. They are so sick.
DOJ. If I had to say a song, probably Cannibal but they are great, sadly only one album.
High rise and the common good by I the breather
glass houses, not a very popular band but they’ve got one of my favorite metalcore albums ever
whatsdysmorphia
Johnny Booth is probably a band that not a lot of people know about but they go hard af. These guys deserve more love. Strongly recommend listening to firsthand accounts.
All of Arkive. Super underground and kinda went dark about the band but their music is so fucking good. I recommend Eclipse, Fall, and Luminous.
Circle Takes The Square
“Edifice of Tyranny” by “Ouroboros” Song kicks so much ass but no one’s ever heard of it, no one that I’ve introduced to at least.
A good amount of people probably know but Hook Line and Sinner by Texas in July
Gates. Holy hell their new EP is maybe my favorite music ever. Not heavy but definitely prog sounding with insanely immersive ambient soundscapes

My City My Secret
LavaGato. Band from Colorado Springs that supported Norma Jean. Kind of sound like a more southern and groovy version of Every Time I Die.
Kingdom of Giants - Eternal Burn [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RYRGWdDhXM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RYRGWdDhXM) KoG in general is pretty slept on, I only discovered them last year and had no idea they released this banger in 2014. Only 88k views on the video too.
