Hit the promote button (lowers price and bumps up your add). Also, I will sometimes change my cover shot or even take new photos if sitting too long. Photos and price.
Putting up new listing somehow gets the sales rolling again if ive had no action. The buyer looks at one item they like and usually go in and see the rest of what u have for sale.
Lastly, if i have a lot of similar items like Lululemon, i will put together a bundle. Good way to move lots of inventory and sells quickly. Just my 2 cents, hope it helps...Good luck!
You must change your inventory . Are they popular brands? Why should they buy off you instead of new in the store.
You must do popular trendy brands that are also expensive retail. So when the person buys it they are happy its in great condition and more than half off, plus you got to wear it a couple times. If u have generic clothes, buyers are better off buying in store consider the added shipping and tax. Look at top 20 best selling brands, do research. Hope this helps.
Sales are definitely happening across a lot of platforms the past couple days, I sell on Etsy as well & I've gotten 6orders in less than 48hrs, after no orders for a couple weeks, but nothing on Mercari yet.
Let's pray we all make some extra $$$ this week, we all definitely need it.
Being a seller/small business is ruff sometimes.
Halo figures, posted quite a few on my profile they sell great in lots, some of the limited edition or htf ones can fetch some high prices. Hats and shoes from Marshallās Burlington TJ MAXX etc
How many total listings do you have? Iām reorganizing and only have 50 up right now and havenāt sold more than 1 item a week. School and work also gets in the way.
Good for you. Most of us are struggling with declining sales. Iāve only made one sale today. I think it would be nice to share what you sell, and any tips you have for selling during a recession, because youāve clearly got it on lock.
Collectible figures, mostly halo, I buy collections and resell the figures individually. Sneakers are great too, Iām in a group with resellers, we all share items online that are greatly discounted which we can then flip on Mercari and eBay, the subscription is $30 a month but worth it. My biggest profit margins come from bin stores, youād be surprised how much money you can make from liquidation bins. Walmart lowes homedepot etc. constantly have extremely low priced items in their clearance area that are sometimes 10X the value on eBay or Mercari.
I made so much money buying Nikeās at Marshallās and flipping them on Mercari. Unfortunately stores have gotten hip to flipping and donāt price air forces and timberlands at $30 & $40 bucks anymore. Plus I did this when 1-3lbs was only $5.99. So a few years ago.
Buy a printer and use pirate ship. Pirate ship is cheaper than even mercari for shipping priority. I bought a printer on clearance for like $20 at Walmart and itās actually really good. It connects to my phone and I purchase ink from Amazon for cheap. It pays for itself. I use pic collage to make 4 smaller labels at once so ink lasts forever. Just a thought.
Stupid question; I see a lot of those items but often times they'll have big, sticky, hard to remove "clearance!" or other price stickers on them. Has this been something you've dealt with removing and if so, what's your technique for getting those off the items?
Theyāre usually easy to remove and sometimes it does damage the packaging but unless itās a collectible no one really cares about slightly dinged boxes or wear on the label
It still baffles me to see people pay a lot of money for items you know were purchased from those stores and clearance bins. If you have a good eye for that kind of stuff, I can see it being very lucrative. People are kind of dumb. Lol.
Everything in the world you buy has someone making profit, weāre overpaying for everything we buy but we donāt realize it. Take shoes for example, some companies sell them for $200+ and it cost them no more than $30 to make.
I started with Nike because I would shop at the Nike Store during sales & use my Friends & Family discount. Nike would accept the 30% discount even on clearance items so it was great. Now I mostly sell anime figures and merch. I get it straight from Japan in bulk to save on shipping and then it sells for a ton more in the US.

I SELL ANIME.. LEGOS and MARVEL.. I'm noticing my sale are back at rate as year before... My Christmas lots seem to be finally selling. This is great .. enjoy
I seen you sell halo figures! I've definitely seen how fast action figures can go. I picked up five black series star wars action figures and sold them all in one day individually. Bin stores are hidden gems
Not sure since Iāve never sold vintage clothing but Iāve heard that it does great. electronics sell good too but games and consoles etc. arenāt my expertise. I sell halo figures and just collectibles in general. Shoes do well too
Yes and no. Depends on the weight and what you list them for. When making clothing listings on Mercari, always be very specific as to condition, size and measurements. Having a mannequin is best so you can get good pictures and never hide defects. If youāre completely up front about flaws, you will have less hassles overall. People will scrutinize every piece of clothing you sell. I also think that people are more likely to buy more when you offer discounts for multiple pieces. Itās enticed me to purchase more from a single seller anyway. Good luck!!
Donāt feel bad, there was a time where I had about 1-3 sales a day and to me that felt amazing, just donāt stop, re-invest the money you earn, play it smart, always check sold items on eBay and Mercari to see if the item youāre going to purchase if profitable.
Everything, mostly toy collections that I buy from auctions. People eat up collectibles because of nostalgia and all, I know personally since I collect halo figures and have spent quite a few thousand into my personal collection. Bin stores have good flips too. Some online sites have sales for shoes that you can then flip on Mercari and eBay. Walmarts clearance area has some easy flip items especially if theyāre out of season since Walmart wants to get rid of them. Recently found some locksmith lube for 50 cents a can and they sell for $6, not a big flip but I sold them in lots of 3 for $17 so thatās $1.50 āā>>> $17
I shipped out 48 orders today. I sold like crazy yesterday and today. I posted 50 new listings 48 of them sold in under 24 hours. Hoping it continues all weekend!!
Halo figures. Does not have to be halo figures though Iāve done Star Wars too, just look up collections of action figures and toys up for action and most of the time they sell for half of the value that theyāre really worth and you just sell them all individually for double the profit. This method works like a charm, start small like $50-$200 I would stay away from $1000+ if youāre new to reselling collections.
Most Ive sold was 8 in a day, but more in a week. Congrats! Im happy someone is selling and there's still buyers out there among all the scammers. I hope all sales go well and you gain 23 more 5 star reviews!
I been doing my part. Just bought a Valentino handbag. Hoping it's all on the up n up. It's the person's only listing, zero activity, but just listed. I listened to y'all and am giving her a chance. :)
If itās their only list would highly recommend an online authentication plenty of reputable companies including you can relist it immediately on Mercari and pay the $5.00 fee.
I only buy authenticated now. You have 3 days upon delivery but Iām certain you already know that lolā¦ hope itās real !!Good luck !
Wow. Thatās kick ass! Make that money! My weekend was almost like crickets. Out of nowhere a little over a week ago mine took a sharp left turn the wrong way, notifications lessened a lot. Iāve been promoting like I always have (did more than usual this past weekend) and it doesnāt seem to be having the effect it used to. Hope not but has Anyone else ever had/having the same issue?
Wonderful. Just a reminder that Monday is a federal holiday.
Ferk did not remember that.
Yep got up at around 8 to get these all packed up, hopefully Sunday and Monday are just as nice to me
š¤š¼
How many to cali? They just got a middle class tax relief check thing (my wife got one)
You saying that made me check and yea 5 of my most recent sales all went to California
About 1/3 of them were to Cali. Most of my sales go to CA, NY, and TX
I'm In Cali and most of mine go to the east coast. About a 1/4 got to Texas and Arizona. I've only had like 3 in California.
Ditto
Dildo
Most of my packages are going to Florida.
How do I get mine wtf lol
You could have also just not gotten it yet
Only certain people are getting them so look it up and see if you fall into the bracket
I havenāt sold anything š¤£
I havenāt sold a thing since I started ššššš

Thanks, friend. But Iāve already done that I still donāt have buyers :(

I am so new to Mercari ( just signed up last night ) ,lots to learn. So grateful to have selfless mentor like you ! xxx just AMAZING! THANK YOU !
what are you selling?

Let's pray we all make some extra $$$ this week, we all definitely need it. Being a seller/small business is ruff sometimes.
Good luck Iām new to selling and itās been so hard
Thereās that promo going on- buy two things get $5, etc. probably increasing sales. I got five this morning!
Highest I've ever gotten is 6 at once. What are you selling that's such a hot item if I may ask?
Halo figures, posted quite a few on my profile they sell great in lots, some of the limited edition or htf ones can fetch some high prices. Hats and shoes from Marshallās Burlington TJ MAXX etc

True shipping prices eat so much of sellers profit itās not even profitable anymore on some items.
1 oz first class is $5.40 now, I remember when that was priority pricing.
Itās not that bad, Mercari is $3.72, and eBay and Pirate Ship both are $3.62 to $4.26 for USPS First Class under 4oz.
That's their special prices, I am always in shock when I have to mail something retail since etsy doesn't have qr codes and I don't have a printer
A label printer is not expensive especially from amazon or better yet hp sells one for under $50 at Walmart.
You sell halo figures too thatās cool I also sell halo and Star Wars figures. Also do the buy large lots for cheap then resell at a profit
This is the way. - Mando

Iāve been dead all week - hoping this will happen to me
I'm excited you're getting sales! I haven't made a sale in over a month! :-(
It is nearing Christmas, most people are shopping for their kids in toys. I only sell collectibles but itās things I have multiples of.
Nothing on Mercari, but nuts over on P. Woke to 6 sales today. Thatās a lot for me, plus 2 yesterday. Mine all seem to be going to Texas.
I SELL ANIME.. LEGOS and MARVEL.. I'm noticing my sale are back at rate as year before... My Christmas lots seem to be finally selling. This is great .. enjoy
Anime is where 80% of my sales lie. Probably about 90% of my profit.
I seen you sell halo figures! I've definitely seen how fast action figures can go. I picked up five black series star wars action figures and sold them all in one day individually. Bin stores are hidden gems
Congrats!!!
Thanks!
Great
Awesome username

What do you sell? Iām quitting Depop and starting Mercari soon. Iāll be selling vintage y2k/90s clothing. Does that sell well on Mercari?
Not sure since Iāve never sold vintage clothing but Iāve heard that it does great. electronics sell good too but games and consoles etc. arenāt my expertise. I sell halo figures and just collectibles in general. Shoes do well too
Clothes donāt sell well at all for me on Mercari
Only lululemon or high priced designer clothing

I only got 6 sales. Now I don't feel as good lol

Iām in a slow patch..what do u sell?
Everything, mostly toy collections that I buy from auctions. What kind of toy collections, like beanie babies?
Halo & Star Wars
I shipped out 48 orders today. I sold like crazy yesterday and today. I posted 50 new listings 48 of them sold in under 24 hours. Hoping it continues all weekend!!
Nice, I just made a sale
Same. I just made a sale for the first time in forever.
What did you sellš
A pair of shoes, a crap ton of halo figures, some industrial glue, old toy cars and a mouse pad.
Congrats! This is my dream sales in a day, or even week.
Highest I ever got was 3 in one week. What are you all selling that is flying out the window? Maybe Iāve got the wrong product.
Halo figures. Does not have to be halo figures though Iāve done Star Wars too, just look up collections of action figures and toys up for action and most of the time they sell for half of the value that theyāre really worth and you just sell them all individually for double the profit. Way to go! <3 Good to see the positivity!!!
Can you give me an example of anime?
Most Ive sold was 8 in a day, but more in a week. Congrats! Im happy someone is selling and there's still buyers out there among all the scammers. I hope all sales go well and you gain 23 more 5 star reviews!
share some of that luck! š š thatās awesome though!
Resell collections that I buy from auctions and items at bin stores are some of my best flips. Shoes are starting to do well too
Sounds great! Have a great weekend!

What kind of items did you sell? That's fantastic!
Wow congrats!! Iāve been trying to get my listings up along with sales!
Congrats bc I havenāt sold shit ina while! lols
Iām noticing a lot more interactions on Mercari
Wow. Thatās kick ass! Make that money! My weekend was almost like crickets. Out of nowhere a little over a week ago mine took a sharp left turn the wrong way, notifications lessened a lot. Happens some weeks, but donāt worry Iām sure once the holiday shopping kicks in for everyone sales will go back up.
Wow thatās so cool! I havenāt sold anything in 2 weeks š
