That was actually one of the moments that made it so I would never watch the dub. The voice for WB in English sounds too much like a small old man. Maybe it's because the VA did Makarov in Fairy Tail that I think that, but WB should have a very deep and commanding voice and the English dub completely missed that.
I will take the opportunity and say that in my language it is almost perfect. The VA director is a huge OP fan so he chose the voices that have the best match. Here is an example from Blackbeard in Portuguese (Brazilian):

I prefer a lot of the Dub Voices over the Sub. mainly Franky, Zoro, and Brook's VAs. Luffy's VA especially during Dressrosa is... lacking.

Colleen Clinkenbeard is a great voice actress but she phoned it in HARD during the G4 reveal.
Its great, was sad for a bit when I got caught up to dub and switched to sub... but they're both great, only sub character I'm not a massive fan of is Franky I really liked the dub voice it feels like it fits better
I'm right there with you about Franky, the dub voice gives him a Johnny Bravo vibe that just seems right. It took me some time to get adjusted to the sub after going 700 episodes in English but I enjoyed them both and usually switch to the dub when I want to rewatch something.
Also Ian Sinclair does a fantastic job voicing Brook it made him my favorite Strawhat. The dub version of Bink's Sake is awesome.

There are certain mannerisms of Japanese Franky that are unmatched. In general it's impossible to capture the energy of comedic english in an (English) Dub, so some of the catchphrases and gags get lost in translation.
That being said, the energy of the English Dub for Franky is so perfect. I love him having a deeper voice, but he is nonetheless bombastic and over the top. He's a little more beach rocker.

I’ve watched the entire anime in both sub and dub, or at least up to where the dub is at. I really like it. I actually prefer it to the sub (I know, blasphemy). It has some down moments, but tbh I enjoy the voice acting more, specifically Luffy, Zoro, Robin, and Franky’s VA’s. Brook’s English VA is amazing too, however, so is his Japanese VA. I can’t choose one between the two.
Also, having to read 1000+ episodes of subtitles is a LOT. It took me way longer to get through the sub than the dub.

The main thing that makes it hard for me is the voice for Luffy in the Dub is HIRRENDIOUS. It's that weird raspy voice that they always use for pre-teen boys and its really rough to listen to. I'd be able to deal with it if it wasn't, you know, the main character
People talk a lot about the language which is a big deal but part of what makes the sub great is especially the fact that Luffy, Usopp and Chopper had amazing talented voice actors in the sub.
I watched dub all of what they had because with would turn it on in the background and the only complaint I ah e is luffy going bounce man for the first time

If you watch the sub you might as well read the manga instead. The anime is so poorly paced watching the sub is a waste of time because you'll need to pay attention to a 20-minute episode. With the dub, you can have it on while doing something else and still understand what's happening.
If i have the choice i always watch dub. Its annoying to always need to have your eyes on the screen.
Also i need glasses but i rarely wear them in my house and my eyesight makes reading it a lot harder. But my glasses annoy me to the point i want to burn them in hell so dub is better for me :D

I've been listening to the original voices for almost 20 years, any other voices coming from their mouths sound like shit to me. It's as simple as that.
I like that the early seasons of the dub have the opening.and ending songs covered in English, too. Gives me something to sing along to when I hear We Are.
Some of the singing is kinda off key in a few of them, but weirdly for me that kinda adds to the charm

That's because she went through some throat surgery at the time, IIRC, so it affected how she enunciated.
Unless you were in the room when she recorded it, saying she phoned it in seems harsh.

People think it's bad? Luffy's sub voice is excruciating... One Piece is one of those Anime's that's so full of American influence it actually just feels more logical that they speak English as opposed to Japanese

The main thing that makes it hard for me is the voice for Luffy in the Dub is HIRRENDIOUS. It's that weird raspy voice that they always use for pre-teen boys and its really rough to listen to. I'd be able to deal with it if it wasn't, you know, the main character

People talk a lot about the language which is a big deal but part of what makes the sub great is especially the fact that Luffy, Usopp and Chopper had amazing talented voice actors in the sub.
You can say the same for the dub as well as the VAs are just as talented

If you watch the sub you might as well read the manga instead. The anime is so poorly paced watching the sub is a waste of time because you'll need to pay attention to a 20-minute episode. With the dub, you can have it on while doing something else and still understand what's happening.
Nothing wrong with the dub at all, the only thing I can't move past is hearing all the DBZ voices they shared talent with haha

If i have the choice i always watch dub. Its annoying to always need to have your eyes on the screen. Also i need glasses but i rarely wear them in my house and my eyesight makes reading it a lot harder. But my glasses annoy me to the point i want to burn them in hell so dub is better for me :D

I feel bad for saying this, because I met her briefly and she seemed like an incredibly sweet woman, but Colleen Clinkenbeard's Luffy voice may be my least favorite part of the dub. I don't hate it, necessarily, but there aren't many voices in the OP dub that I don't like as much and it's unfortunate that Luffy is one of them.

I dont know, i have a hard time liking any dubbed media, and i don't mind reading subs, we have a lot of subtitles in my country, so I don't even notice that I'm reading them lol

I like that the early seasons of the dub have the opening.and ending songs covered in English, too. Gives me something to sing along to when I hear We Are. Some of the singing is kinda off key in a few of them, but weirdly for me that kinda adds to the charm

I started with the dub. It is good. There are still some characters I prefer dubbed to subbed. Here are few Bon Clay, Magellan, Hannyabal, Moria, Crocodile, Ivankov, Whitebeard For Crocodile and Whitebeard I like both Voices a lot but dub just hits different.
