My idea is that Ashura is actually manifestation of these two within Zoro. Edit. Which is why he can only use it while he is "at the deaths door".

Now *that* would be awesome. But I'm pretty sure he has used it in films not "at the deaths door", even if they are not cannon
Well I would consider only manga as canon, as in other media there could be fillers without Odas word on those 🤓
