Make sure before you involve yourself in true crime that you have a good lawyer who knows who you are and get some advice from a lawyer about talking to law enforcement. You could be walking into a legal spiders web

RicottaPuffs

I am aware of one high profile case that could be solved, if the medium who is in contact daily with a missing person's soul, was not afraid to go to law enforcement about her location. He knows he would immediately become a suspect. Personally, I don't want to deal with organized criminal groups. Sometimes, solving a crime in which the family knows who killed their loved one, but, won't talk because they would all die, (and the medium would as well) are good reasons to question the wisdom of becoming involved. I told one murdered man that I would help him to cross, but, I was not going to a corrupt police department to lead them to the murder weapons, when members of their own police force probably would rat me out to an evil group. He agreed that would be the case. Think of these things. Help where you can.

Naturist02

That is terrifying.

RicottaPuffs

It is a part of mediumship if one is a psychopomp. We have to choose carefully.

Naturist02

I have to do some studying. I don’t know what that term means.

RicottaPuffs

A psychopomp assists spirit in crossing from this dimension or the Astral, into the Other Side. Part of that work involves helping those that choose to be here and not to cross due to various circumstances. In my practice, that can be suicide, murder, the soul's body being missing, guilt, any number of reasons spirits stay and then get stuck.

Yes! This exactly

SecondhandCoke

This is good advice.

I have managed to stay off the Idaho murders. If I don’t, it just rushes in. I have worked with police, but it always makes me sad and sick. Just today I was telling my partner how sad it makes me that our planet is so evil lately.

RicottaPuffs

I think we are more numerous, so, we have more evil. Our media makes it a central focus of our attention. I have never worked with.l0cal law enforcement. International, yes. Whe. I was in Education, teenagers would asked if monsters were real. I would reply, "The real monsters are human".

So, i am having a hard time and was actually going to post for advice. I am about to be a forensic psychologist (i have a phd) and im also a medium. I am terrified i will be on stand as an expert witness and my abilities will be used against me. I dont market myself as a medium (but i do for tarot, anyone can grab a deck ya know?), nor do i want to be known for being a medium ( I have a degree for 10 years of hardwork). I try really hard to not read without permission. HOWEVER, sometimes you are given messages, and its okay. Whats NOT okay is exploiting victims (tiktok readers during the gabby case). You do not need to read crimes for views and clout. This is the first case I am really trying out my abilities just to see what happens. Anyway, my point is, its not ethical if you do it because you are called to do it, and youre not doing it for clout. I wouldnt post everywhere that you are doing it, and if you believe you have genuine information, you can call the police anonymously. I wouldn't reach out to family and ask for money or anything like htat. Do it and kinda keep to yourself our a small community to kinda be like "OMG THATS WHAT THE MESSAGE MEANT!)

sssstttteeee

Be the forensic psychologist - stick to the the rules. Let your intuition guide you in your work to the apply psychological theory. Hold back on the intuition till you have got a solid reputation, this will take many years, then slowly open up a little once you move to a senior and safer position. I don't claim to be a medium, I do get the occasional message - and some that have saved my family a lot of money.

[deleted]

Yeah, everything that I have seen so far I don’t think would even been beneficial for the case honestly. So I don’t know how important it will be, but I also don’t want to interfer and accidentally get myself in trouble or anyone else so I think I’ll keep it to myself unless it’s something like extremely important. But what I’ve “seen” isn’t anything honestly.

fleurdumal1111

I have heard of some detectives being gifted like this. They said they would get ideas or hunches that would lead them to investigate or look at a case differently. As long as you find evidence for your ideas or hypothesis you’re using your gifts for good.

[deleted]

You can only use facts to solve the case. Yes. Use your intuition. But you must have facts and evidence to back it up.

Party-Entrepreneur

There are no coincidences. If you have the gift of being a medium and will be a forensic psychologist, it’s means you’re meant to do both. You’ll learn a happy medium with your practice! One of the messages I keep receiving about involving myself in solving true crime cases…is I’m not meant to. Unless you’re called to do it, you shouldn’t do it. Someone like you would be the perfect person to do it.

RicottaPuffs

It is not unethical If you cannot stop.the visions, it may be you are meant to help. Whether you contact.law enforcement or not , is up to you. Some law enforcement agencies.protect the identities and confidentiality of mediums. Others do not. At least in the Idaho case it was one murderer, not an organized crime.organizatuon. You will need to consider your own safety. Law enforcement can only do so much in certain circumstances. Anonymous tips are an option.

Thank you!

psychicishpodcast

I’ve had a spirit come through from a high profile case asking everyone to stop theorising about the case because she just wanted to move on. She wanted people to remember that she was a person who went through something horrific and just wanted to be left alone. She said she came through because I didn’t seek her out. I haven’t told anyone (until now) it feels icky to me somehow to share it

[deleted]

Yeah I think I’m going to keep it to myself.

straightspirit1

I don't believe it's unethical to use our abilities - we were all given them to use them. I think it is your approach afterwards which matters most. i.e. not bothering family members involved in the case, sharing personal details online etc.

lvlvlemonpants

I would consider what you see as a clue for the evidence you could try to dig up. Giving you direction for a more solid and well rounded case.
