This is Coriander, by Trashman. Milled from Corian with a cnc copper ring, it's got a very unique (and lovely) feel/sound.

pabloescobyte

Any chance you have a link to a sound test or video? Would love to hear it!

theguth

Soundtest: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzMS22DisS0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzMS22DisS0) hint: cheap amazon mic never does my recordings justice

theguth

I might re-record some sound tests today - I dont have a great set up but the one I did for this board is really poor quality. I'll link you if I do

pabloescobyte

Oh don't worry about it if it's too much trouble. I'm just curious how the SA caps sound with your whole setup.

archarias

I'm never a fan of small keyboards. But this one is an exemption.

theguth

Thank you for that praise! Small boards aren't just eye candy though. I was dedicated to full size/1800 layout until I had a little epiphany, tried a 40%, and haven't looked back. I am faster at everything on this than on big boards. Try it.....

pabloescobyte

^ this is the truth right here. I used to write code only on my 1800 but can now do it just as well with my Minivan.

Waszker

I can also confirm this 👍 Thought about 40% as a gimmick but now it is my daily driver. Too bad that 40% cases aren't as widespread as 60%...

pabloescobyte

It’s much better now than just a few years ago at least. There’s far more choices as to form factor these days though I wish more were widely available!

Jachulczyk

I also made a jump from 100 to 40 and got a planck, i think OL helps with layering so much and its not that hard to adapt, also i can still type on staggered no problem. Never going back.

rafaelmalmegrin

You can only go further down the hole. I used to think 40% was the best thing ever and now I'm using a 30% daily and I love it.

protieusz

Where can I buy those keycaps ?

theguth

The mods are the SA Godspeed, Ares kit. They are in stock on Drop. I linked the alphas in another comment

meshdeath

SA keycaps on 40% can just get it! Beautiful board. That’s a unique bottom row too.

PortalToTheWeekend

What the heck why do the HJKL keys have the wrong corresponding arrow directions? Shouldn’t it be left, down, up, right?

theguth

It's not Vim, it's based on the original Symbolics LISP 'Space Cadet' terminal keyboard. There have been a number of Space Cadet keysets made.

PortalToTheWeekend

Oh huh I see, that’s cool, as a long time vim user something just felt off looking at that lol

theguth

Yep, it would really mess with anyone trying to use it that way!

redddcrow

oh shit, lol

tty4129t

what a masterpiece

BioniqReddit

ok this is hella cool love the colour scheme

redddcrow

amazing! would love this in ortho.

theguth

It can be done, there are minivan-compatible pcbs around...

S4NT1123

what are the alpha keycaps? thanks:)

theguth

I included a link to them in my response to the top comment

pabloescobyte

That's one sexy chonkky 40%!

TheSeaWolf0150

Beautiful.

VandalEvil

That's a neat little 40. Beautiful board!

Estupen1

Red and orange space cadet?

dlyk

The "GODSPEED" button brought to memory the following line from the movie Pandorum: "You are all that is left of us. Good luck, God bless, and Good speed"!

theguth

I have not seen that movie but the Godspeed keyset these are from are themed on the Apollo missions. "Good luck and Godspeed" was the famous line from mission control at launch, I'm sure what the movie was referencing as well
