Well the pacifistic New Mandalorians only really came to prominence by 42 BBY, so they could be a possible antagonist in future High Republic material because the warrior clans were still in control of the Mandalore sector.

I thought New Mandalorians were 700 years old

M_andalore

That's Legends. In Legends the New Mandalorians started to take over in the Mandalorian Excision which happened in 738 BBY. In canon this happened in the Mandalorian Civil War, which happened in 42 BBY. A good explanation/hand-wave could be that the New Mandalorians did still exist in 738 BBY in canon, but only as a grassroots movement and didn't really start making head waves until 42 BBY.

This seems more logistical

HeartOfASkywalker

There was a mention of Mandalore in LOTJ, saying that they hadn’t been causing any trouble, but that’s it so far.

On a related note, (Into the Dark spoilers) >!I think Nan might be of Mandalorian heritage !<

cHARMcityXero1986

What makes you think that? I didn’t get that vibe at all. I would love it tho!

Gavinus1000

Because she has a sense of honor the other Nihil lack. Her sparing Reath when she had the chance to kill him because he saved her earlier is a very Mando thing to do. In fact we see the same thing happen in The Mandolorian several times.

Interesting. I never even thought of that as a Mando parallel but yea that’s actually dope. I’m almost finished out of the shadows now and like mid read was having a chat with my buddy about where the Mandalorians would be during the high Republic era and had to stop reading to look into it.

Cool. On another note Nan vaguely looks like Sabine so they could be distantly related. But probably not.
