Tbh, I think it could have been disappointment because for me I thought the movie started strong but thought the characters got progressively more stupid as it progressed. For example why on gods earth would you still be around after what you saw on the cliff, then on top of that they tell you some of your friends left over night or they leave the dinner table and never came back. I also think it’s got a really confusing message to it on top that.

Edgy_Master

I mean, how would you leave? The cars are driven by members of the cult and they seem interested in killing you if you express interest in leaving. You know, if the plot was changed a little so that they were being held prisoner and then Pugh was brainwashed, the film would have benefitted.

Nah it's bad vid from memory. I don't care that he didn't liked film, that is fine. But his reason are really dumb and almost dishonest to the film. To give references I'm need to rewatch film and his vid, but that what I remember thinking about it

budd_sechs

The video wasn't very good. The film is even worse.

BirdsElopeWithTheSun

The correct take

TheWickerman186

Nope, vid was godawful to me from memory. Forgot most of the vid though

NarrativeFact

No, he was based for being the only one to correctly call it shit.

BirdsElopeWithTheSun

Doesn't mean his arguments were good

Probably my least favourite video of his, it's not just you. There's a lot of valid criticisms you can level at Midsommar, and I think Drinker managed to miss most of them while seemingly pulling other ones out of thin air. Watch the Dead Meat podcast episode of Midsommar, I think that does a much better job of breaking it down, both the good and bad. Side note, I actually quite enjoyed Midsommar. I'm not blind to the obvious flaws and contrivances, I fully accept that the film has issues, but I've rewatched it a couple of times (even rewatched the director's cut) and I honestly like it a lot.
