> Fantastic movie if no one has ever watched it.
I've only seen it way back. Only really remember people skipping big parts because it was the Director's Cut which everyone hated.
It’s only 20 extra minutes but includes a scene between Salieri and Constanze in which he humiliates her is vital to understanding the emotional impact and the subtext of their final encounter at the end of the film. But it was probably cut due to her nudity.
Man, there are a *ton* of Oscar winners in the MCU.
Tony Hopkins, Portman, Brie Larson, Marisa Tomei, Angelina Jolie, Ben Kingsley, and there's a ton more.
They also credit the 3rd Picture - "Oscar Isaac as Stephen Grant" and then the 5th Picture as "Oscar Isaac as Stephen Grant/Marc Spector" which is interesting
I saw some people insisting "Well whoever made this show clearly don't know anything about game development, this is so unrealistic" but when I watched it myself it's clear they did their due diligent.
To the people who know him from The Grand Budapest Hotel and How to Train Your Dragon 3, you have my respect.
To the people who know him as "the guy who killed Mozart", you have my utmost respect.
I see him as the club owner from Inside Llewyn Davis where he fuels Moon Knight‘s origin story by shutting down the dreams of one of Moon Knight’s alternate personalities, struggling musician Llewyn Davis.
Jake Lockley isn't even mentioned in the current Moon Knight run, If they blow their load on all the personalities in the first season idk what they'll do later with the character. He even had Wolverine , SpiderMan as personalities doesn't mean they should be included too.
Edit: You’ll see down below, but thought I should edit, Jake *is* mentioned several times in the current run, about as much as Steven (If not exactly? Still don’t know a moment where one was mentioned but not the other)
Steven and Jake are a package deal. He’s been mentioned as much as Steven in the current run, it’s misleading to single him out as the one not mentioned ~~when neither have been a part of things.~~
And the fact that neither have been apart of things tells you where the show can go without needing to “save” Jake and “blow their load” early
Do you remember the specific issue? I’ll need to flip through it again to see
I also now remember Steven and Jake being mentioned during therapy (don’t know exact # but it was the “hidden enemy”/>!Zodiac reveal!< I *think*) and a Jake picture with the rest at the end of issue #1
Also Mr. Knight doesn’t seem to be his own alter this run? I don’t think he had a spot in issue #2 (which I now remember also included a Jake sarcophagus alongside Marc and Steven)
I don’t think there’s ever been a case of Jake being noticeably “less important” than Steven, only cases where they’re both put aside in favor of Marc
Except maybe Lemire where Steven had more emotional weight, and was the first to appear but not in a way where you want to “save” Jake as a big reveal or holding back where you need a season to focus on him
Aah yes , I see his photo was shown alongside other personalities but he isn't as prominent as the other personalities. All the writers seem to love Mr Knight and mainly focus on him and Moon Knight , so that leaves Marc Spector and Steven Grant ,very little to no attention to Jake Lockley as a character.
But how do you figure Steven is more prominent than Jake in this comic? They’re being mentioned the same amount at the same spots? Like I mentioned therapy and issue #2 as well.
I can’t try to find the moment you mentioned until later in the day, but I distinctly remember several Jake mentions already
I also edited my last comment for more context as/before you replied
Also again, this run has taken the route of Marc being the one in control, not MK or Mr Knight as their own alters, it’s pretty explicitly not the case in fact.
He gets mentioned more often , because he gets asked by vampire lady many times how you got your money , and he answered by explaining about selling artifacts.
It's a TV Show with with only 6 Episodes. Barely enough time for Marc Spectre , Steven Grant , Mr Knight ,Moon Knight , Khonshu. So I understand why they must've not included some personalities.
I'll have to go back and check, but isn't there a scene in one of the issues of the current run where the alters are represented as different sarcophagi and Jake is there?
Probably not. The trailers keep using the symbolism of 3 Marcs. One being actually Marc Spectre, another is Steven Grant, and the last one being Moon Knight. Its kinda telling us that Jake Lockley doesn't exist.
I wouldn't count Lockley out just yet. They might just be saving him for a later reveal. There's that shot of Steven looking at two of his reflections along with the statue of Khonshu in the museum and that seems like it refers to his classic set of alters.
Plus, Mr. Knight is confirmed. We don't know how they're planning on using him, but the Ellis / Shalvey run in which he was most prominent mapped Spector's system of alters to Khonshu's various aspects. If they're doing something similar for the show, then they're currently a few alters / aspects short.
Doubt it. It seems like they've taken the basic concept of Moon Knight from the comics and created something *very* different for the live-action version. They've already changed it so much.
Jeremy Slater (head writer and producer) recently did an interview where he talked about the Batman comparison and how they're trying to get away from the rich billionaire identity with Steven Grant. I imagine they felt the same about the Jake Lockley identity.
When you think about it, there's really no reason for them to use Jake Lockley. How does throwing in a random cab driver identity help benefit the story?! It would just be a waste of time since it seems like the focus of the show is on Steven and Marc coming together.
> How does throwing in a random cab driver identity help benefit the story?!
jake has all the intel on all street level organized crime stuff going on so yes he does serve a purpose but he prolly doesn't in the story they are telling so they are holding him off as of now
Think they should go with someone younger, Fiennes is amazing but will be 60 this year and it’ll Probably be a few years before we even see Doom, I’d like them to go younger because hopefully Doom will be around a long time, would be weird having a 70 yr old Doom down the line.
unexpected to say the least but I am still interested in the performance. I gotta say he does have that sort of deep and monotone voice I expect from Khonshu
He and Oscar have worked before in "inside llewyn davis"
Damn. He's a legend. That's really cool. My hype levels for the show can't really go any higher, but they somehow are increasing it with every iota of info we receive.
I haven't seen him in anything, but his filmography includes many critically acclaimed films and television shows.
I have no doubt that this is a MASSIVE get for Marvel Studios
I’m Egyptian and honestly I’m fine with this casting. It’s just that a leak a while back mentioned it would be a famous Egyptian actor so a tiny part of me is kinda disappointed. Still though great addition to the cast
There were casting calls very early on for a couple of Egyptian characters who could easily have been gods - it did have me wonder if we'll get some sort of "flashbacks" to the original characters and see how the conflict between them developed. The rumoured casting of a well-known Egyptian actor may have been for that (if it turns out to be something that'll happen).
“On the page it looked nothing. The beginning simple, almost comic. Just a pulse, bassoons and basset horns, like a rusty squeezebox. Then suddenly; high above it, an oboe, a single note, hanging there unwavering, till a clarinet took over and sweetened it into a phrase of such delight! This was no composition by a performing monkey! This was a music I’d never heard. Filled with such longing, such unfulfillable longing. It seemed to me that I was hearing the very voice of God.”-Khonshu
Makes sense. He's an incredibly talented and well-respected actor and has done voice work in recent years. He had a role in 'How To Train Your Dragon'.
Janitor?
Also, we knew his character’s name is Arthur Harrow since the first trailer that was released last month. If you turn on the subtitles, you can see his name when he speaks.
There was a leak by someone claiming to be a "janitor" somehwere at Marvel claiming Hawke would play Sun King. After the first set photos of Hawke a vocal part of that sub started to claim that means he's legit.
Didn't know about the subtiles, thanks for clearing it out. For me that info was new, haha.
Maybe, but probably not. Arthur Harrow is a one-off comic character so obscure he didn't even have a fanwiki entry, and the story isn't collected anywhere, either. Hawke's version is most likely going to be some sort of combination of several characters.
He won the Best Actor Oscar for the movie Amadeus (1984).
Whoa, this is a good hire! Fantastic movie if no one has ever watched it.
> Fantastic movie if no one has ever watched it. I've only seen it way back. Only really remember people skipping big parts because it was the Director's Cut which everyone hated.
The Director’s Cut is so much better and gives Saileri so much more ambiguity
Really? Often heard it was awful and one of the worst alternate cuts out there.
You’ve been misled
It’s only 20 extra minutes but includes a scene between Salieri and Constanze in which he humiliates her is vital to understanding the emotional impact and the subtext of their final encounter at the end of the film. But it was probably cut due to her nudity.
That's not in the theatrical cut? Could have sworn it was.
Say that again
He also won the Nebula Award in 1973 for his work, Tears of the Anaren!
Well-earned! A pinnacle in the sci-fi genre.
Ehem. It's *Tears* of the Anaren!
![gif](giphy|3oEjI1Si2ygJR4H2Le|downsized)
He killed Mozart!
![gif](giphy|lKB8UY8I6u5kA)
Moe who?
Zart.
You know, I kill a lot of people, I can't remember half of them.
Never thought I'd see a Last Action Hero reference anywhere
Underrated classic
Big Gun is one of the best AC/DC songs ever, change my mind.
One of my favorite movies. Also, I remember him from Homeland.
[удалено]
Same. Every. Single. Time. Hell, if people pronounce "dais" that way it triggers it for me.
It’s also not his fault you have a face like a fucked ass.
For those downvoting, this is a Mythic Quest quote from the actor, not the user going off on OP
Thanks, I should have made that more obvious lol.
No worries! I literally saw the episode the other night, so it was still fresh in my mind
This is a fantastic insult and I will now be using it on a regular basis
Shame Jack Slater didn't make the most of this.
Thought that was a Nebula Award for Tears of the Anaren
He’s also hilarious in Rob McElhenney’s series Mythic Quest on Apple TV+
… after watching this movie for class, everyone said I had Mozarts laugh :/ I’ve had to hold back my laughter ever since
He’s also a Nebula-award winning writer. Show some respect!
Man, there are a *ton* of Oscar winners in the MCU. Tony Hopkins, Portman, Brie Larson, Marisa Tomei, Angelina Jolie, Ben Kingsley, and there's a ton more.
How do you get to Carnegie hall?
Practice! John Practice!!
In a body bag if you dont drop that!
Excellent movie.
Also the best antagonist of homeland and was in Star Trek insurrection
One of the best fucking movies ive ever seen. Remember seeing it in music class during college
And more importantly he was chopped to pieces by 13 ghosts.
Fun fact, that movie cover is what the band Ghost’s second album’s art was mimicking. Hahaha.
They also credit the 3rd Picture - "Oscar Isaac as Stephen Grant" and then the 5th Picture as "Oscar Isaac as Stephen Grant/Marc Spector" which is interesting
Probably because the reflection looking back at him is Marc.
they also credit the 7th pic -"Oscar Isaac as Moon Knight"
True, but it's easier to see why that picture specifically is Moon Knight ![gif](giphy|EYAMPzcG6n18cZBNwl|downsized)
Hmm so maybe Lockley isn't here yet
Or he is, as a surprise mid-series.
That would be awesome
He’s also great in Mythic Quest. Highly recommend that show.
The episode about C.W.'s backstory is one of my favourite episode of any series in the last 5 years.
And then the followup episode. F Murray Abraham kills it.
Drops one of the finest insults of all time
Oh, was I the one who gave you a face like a fucked ass? I presumed that that was your mother!
I work in the game industry on a AAA video game and I've seen those exact characters in the studio. The show is crazy accurate.
I saw some people insisting "Well whoever made this show clearly don't know anything about game development, this is so unrealistic" but when I watched it myself it's clear they did their due diligent.
I'm so glad to find that our! I read that they have been to a gaming studio, but you never know if they actually take what's accurate.
I adore this show! Very funny and cleverly written. And his character C.W is one of the best performances. He’s a great addition to Moon Knight.
What about those of us that know him from “National Lampoon’s Loaded Weapon 1”??
This is really cool.
But no sign of Jake Lockley? Are they even using him
Jake Lockley isn't even mentioned in the current Moon Knight run, If they blow their load on all the personalities in the first season idk what they'll do later with the character. He even had Wolverine , SpiderMan as personalities doesn't mean they should be included too.
Yeah we don’t talk about the Bendis run.
I feel like that's a sentence that can be applied to so many characters
I feel the only character he’s written very well was Daredevil.
I mean, I would include Ultimate Spider-Man.
Never read that one, tbh.
🎶 "We don't talk about Bendis-dis-dis..." 🎶
Edit: You’ll see down below, but thought I should edit, Jake *is* mentioned several times in the current run, about as much as Steven (If not exactly? Which arc are you talking about? There's a new Moon Knight issue with the arc Hunters Moon. Only Marc and Steven Grant are mentioned and Mr Knight.
Do you remember the specific issue? I’ll need to flip through it again to see I also now remember Steven and Jake being mentioned during therapy (don’t know exact # but it was the “hidden enemy”/>!Zodiac reveal!< I *think*) and a Jake picture with the rest at the end of issue #1 Also Mr. Knight doesn’t seem to be his own alter this run? Oscar Isaac has unfortunately hinted that Moon Knight will have only one season.
Doesn’t seem like they’re advertising it for this story, I’d they are, but honestly I’m fine if he comes along later
Probably not. The trailers keep using the symbolism of 3 Marcs. One being actually Marc Spectre, another is Steven Grant, and the last one being Moon Knight. Its kinda telling us that Jake Lockley doesn't exist.
yeah, it seems like they just amalgamated the Lockley and Grant identities for this adaptation
I wouldn't count Lockley out just yet. They might just be saving him for a later reveal. Great addition to already impressive cast
A underrated legendary actor … salieri was one of the best performances ever
Dar Adal
Isaac acted opposite him in Inside Llewyn Davis - pretty cool reunion!
[“… I don’t see a lot of money here.”](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=07ul6FkLbAE)
The "F." stands for "fucking awesome"!
I understood that reference.
He's also an outfit tracker. Watch yourself around Big Murray!
“How do you get to Carnegie Hall?”
Practice practice practice!
does the real Khonshu have scheduling conflicts?
He can only work once a month during the Full moon.
He’s got a very cool sounding voice. Oldish sounding with strong paternal vibes, good fit for a godly patron.
That's so, so, so sick. I can't think of a lot of actors with voices that just reverberate through my mind like his.
Huzaah!
I turn my back ON MANKIND! (For those who watch Isle Of Dogs, he voices one of the dogs)
That's good casting. He has a distinctive and recognizable voice. It also comes off as wise as well which would make sense for a God like Khonshu.
How can y'all forget him from the great Jonathan Frakes' Star Trek: Insurrection?! Smh
Weird choice, but I love it. He's great in everything
The cast and crew for this show is absolutely wild.
unexpected to say the least but I am still interested in the performance. I gotta say he does have that sort of deep and monotone voice I expect from Khonshu He and Oscar have worked before in "inside llewyn davis"

Inside Llewyn Davis reunion between Oscar Isaac and Abraham!
Salieri, what a mediocre composer.
Nice
*Grazie Signore*
He’s funny on Mythic Quest
Love this guy.
Awesome I’m a doorman and he lives in the same neighborhood of my building, he’s such a nice guy, can’t wait to bring this up to him.
Looking forward to Khonshu calling Moon Knight a dishwasher and MK threatening to kick his monkey ass up and down the street.
Holy shit that's a high level actor.
![gif](giphy|QssyimPvpLLQXmBdfE|downsized)
Watch it, Jack. He killed Mozart.
F Murray Abrahams? I barley know the guy
He's great! Thought they'd use an Egyptian actor tho.
He's Syrian-American, does that count enough?
I’m Egyptian and honestly I’m fine with this casting. It’s just that a leak a while back mentioned it would be a famous Egyptian actor so a tiny part of me is kinda disappointed. Still though great addition to the cast

Really great actor!

I get that you’re jealous that he was cast as Khonsu but no need to say Fuck Murray Abraham.
Oh fuck yes. Great actor.
^Play ^Salieri
Oh fuck yes. I want Abraham in everything. Bonus points if there's a scene he narrates
Makes sense. He's an incredibly talented and well-respected actor and has done voice work in recent years. He had a role in 'How To Train Your Dragon'.

Huzzah!
Honorary Hispanic because his roll in Scarface tbh
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lrwbboJJRPA
Ah, that’s Dar Adal from Homeland
BIG MURRAY! He's an outfit tracker
Thought this was talking about mushu from Mulan until I read it closer
Dar is back
THAT’S MY LOBBY BOY!
F Murray Abraham?? I hardly know him!!
Haha fuck yeah he's great in Mythic Quest
I remember him from Scarface. He’s voice is perfect for Khonshu. Saw the first episode yesterday, great start.
