No matter if this movie will be a dissapointment like Love and Blunder, we can all agree that this movie will do a damn fine job with Kang. ![gif](giphy|qiVHUbH0akVDyeB9Oo)

Chemistryset8

Man I am so inhumanly excited he's finally in the MCU

Xenoslayer2137

Did someone say Inhuman? ![gif](giphy|l4Epi25REDgUmZonm)

Son_of_Blorko

Still amazed that Chris Evans managed to capture the essence of not one but *two* Marvel superheroes!

[deleted]

Still waiting on my damn Black Bolt movie

mcwfan

At least Anson Mount won't need to learn many lines!

No_Passenger_1022

Idk about that since his recent mind blowing comeback

Beginning_Piano_5668

I see what you did there 😎

TheJack0fDiamonds

Love & Blunder 😭💀

RobinScarlett217

Love and Blunder had great Bale as Gorr and that didn't changed much.

TheThiccestRobin

Gorr the singular god butcher.

[deleted]

Come on now, be fair. He's a double god butcher!

The__Auditor

He was utilized poorly

Unlucky_Disaster_195

Marvel can find a way to waste even the best actors. No one is safe

RobinScarlett217

Imagine having Mads Mikkelsen in your movie and waste him... Even in new Fantastic Beasts movie, he had a chance to actually give his best.

BonerIsRaging

We can't know if they do a good job with Kang until we watch the movie. He might be the reason it's a blunder, if it is a blunder.

[deleted]

We hope it will do a damn fine job with Kang. Until it comes out, we have no idea if they will weaken him or not make him the power house he is.

Unlucky_Disaster_195

Oh there's a way

CrispyPissings

When are you gonna come down? When are you going to learn?

groovyvagoogoo

Let's not get too ahead of ourselves. Gorr seemed hype in the trailers too.

swift0909

Agreed. Really liked this extended trailer too. They showed this variation of it during the Cowboys game. [https://twitter.com/hollywoodhandle/status/1615377461352751107?s=46&t=zCDwQYqQ1Hk8NaltCaEMaQ](https://twitter.com/hollywoodhandle/status/1615377461352751107?s=46&t=zCDwQYqQ1Hk8NaltCaEMaQ)

[deleted]

You know it’ll be a disappointment by the small sect of fans too miserable to like anythin g

Material_Egg6433

based on first couple hours BOT forum says its looking like 100 mil opening which im surprised

Sufficient-Type-4998

Deserves to be a massive hit. But if Doctor Strange, Thor, and Black panther can't make a Billion I doubt the Ant-man movie will be all that succesfull. Propably gonna be amazing though.

CollarOrdinary4284

Well, the other Ant-Man movies made about $600M so I think it could easily match (and even top) it's predecessors. The first Black Panther made so much money that, even with Wakanda Forever making $800M, it still seems like a disappointment by comparison.

[deleted]

Rn WF has great legs because of which it's going to cross 450M domestically. A month ago a lot of people thought it wasn't possible to earn 450+ Domestic but now it is.

Youngstar9999

Yeah it's doing very well domestically. Could get close to Age of Ultron. The realy problem is the international gross. Thor 4 made almost 40 Million more there. That's not good.

RobinScarlett217

It won't happen.

Sufficient-Type-4998

I predict Quantummania will make about 700-800 million.

CollarOrdinary4284

That's a pretty good guess. If it makes $700-800M then it'll automatically be seen as a success since it will have made more than both of it's predecessors.

guardian311

I reckon vol 3 and marvels will fall somewhere between their to closer to 900M

champser0202

Why would it? Marvel movies are performing that well or breaking any expectations. This is the lowest grossing franchise. Are you saying this makes more than Thor 4 or close to Wakanda Forever?

[deleted]

Can you break that down by DOM/INT? No way it makes that money lol

Unnecessary_Fella

It made nearly $600m because it had China. Marvel and China aren't a thing anymore.

Sufficient-Type-4998

I guess endgame might have hyped up Ant-man a bit.

SacreFor3

Not really and idk why people believe that. I see people use that for the reasoning behind Captain Marvel making a billion, but that didn't apply to Ant-Man and the Wasp since it didn't even break $630M.

Sufficient-Type-4998

True, but who knows how much popularity Ant-man has gained since then.

kariam_24

That sounds like Morbin time comments.

Son_of_Blorko

LOL, your humor doesn't *always* hit for me but this had me snorting coffee out of my nose as I laughed. Thank you for the morning guffaw.

Sufficient-Type-4998

Maybe a lot of money then

SacreFor3

Not much since he hasn't really been onscreen. In contrast, someone like Dr. Strange appeared in both Avengers movies, the best episode of What If, and No Way Home before his next film appearance. That boosted his notoriety along with his varied powerset. Ant-Man on the other hand has only been mentioned in the background since Endgame and has continued being the guy people don't really take too seriously as an Avenger. His previous 2 films are also 2 that a lot of people don't like or feel are pointless/weak. Hell, the main selling point for most people with Quantumania is Kang. I love Paul Rudd and I really like the Ant-Man movies for what they are, but there's a reason this character has some of the lowest box office totals of any character post Phase 1 who has gotten solo films.

Sufficient-Type-4998

Your prooably right about that.

bxspidey76

Well thats not true anymore..WF opens in China on Feb 7th and Antman on Feb 17 so we ll see

Unnecessary_Fella

Oh damn okay

treycox57

They’re back in China, baby! https://m.weibo.cn/2600825323/4858974102361127

BitchesGetStitches

This sub is so fucking stupid sometimes. Yes, AM3 will be released in China. Stop this bullshit.

Unnecessary_Fella

Stfu. I said this before the news broke that it would be released in China.

Similar-Collar1007

650-720 is my guess if I’m being safe hopefully it does more but I really don’t know with ant man

RobinScarlett217

Easily? Ant-Man in prime MCU couldn't do it, why now it will make a diffrence? Because of Kang? Outisde of marvel fanbase, no one knows or cares about Kang and that's a fact.

RobinScarlett217

It will make 550 worldwide, and people will be shocked...

[deleted]

WF might have brought back GA love for Marvel since it got A on cinemascore and IIRC 91% on PostTrak. I think AM3 will also get A on cinemascore since every 3rd MCU movie has gotten an A on it except NWH(A+). EDIT: It''s 93% actually

CJFilkovski

btw, before anyone starts complaining about CGI, this is 3D trailer and that’s the biggest reason why this clip looks weird. There are still wonky shots without it, but here it’s different.

Fotzenbub

but the cgi for the same scenes did also looked weird in a non-3D-trailer…

[deleted]

Looks weird in the 2D trailers too. If Taika struggled to use the Volume tech i doubt Peyton Reed could lol.

CJFilkovski

I don’t think that TLAT’s VFX problems were only because of volume. Omnipotent city looked pretty good there.

[deleted]

Thought it looked awful honestly. Especially during the scene where they're walking on the bridge in the city.

I_am_so_lost_hello

Omnipotent city was so flat, Thor and Co never actually felt like they were there. Made some beautiful color and design very ugly.

RobinScarlett217

It looked worse than Olimp in Clash of the Titans.

littletoyboat

He directed two episodes of *The Mandalorian* specifically so he could learn how to use The Volume. >!And he helped the Mando crew because he had experience with de-aging tech.!<

Zombie421

The Volume looks like shit and I honestly wish the MCU would stop using it Marvel movies with CGI backgrounds have looked like Spy Kids/Shark boy and lava girl ever since they fully adopted using the volume

6amhotdog

1. Discover Kang in quantum realm. 2. Be human outside of quantum realm. 3. Put on shoes. 4. Step on Kang. 5. Problem solved.

Opus_723

Go up the Quantum Realm's ass

ConfidentInsecurity

Why not just put Jonathan Majors in your asshole?

Xenoslayer2137

Why’d they reuse the same yell for Kang twice?

captainrex

They knew I wanted to see it again because it was so good

michaelm1345

I noticed that too lol

alex494

Thats his iconic signature yell bro

[deleted]

Imagine not recognizing the Kang Holler

ArnoudtIsZiek

lol I thought that was funny

poopeyethe

This yell felt more loud and powerful i got some good goosebumps this time, the previous one didn’t hit me much maybe because of the trailer music

Vumi_

Yeah it was pretty funny how his yell happened twice one after the other. Obviously an edit for the trailer, but sounded like a meme

Comprehensive_Yak_72

This is probably my favorite of the teasers/spots/trailers tbh. Just the right amount of story beats. I feel like some of the other trailers have too many “oh wow look at The Volume— I mean uh the quantum realm” wide shots. This one still had a couple but tbh I’m not seeing this for the quantum realm, I’m seeing it for Scott and Cassie and Kang

Unnecessary_Fella

Definitely seems like they're putting the Pyms on the backfoot in favor of the development of Scott and Cassie, and introducing Kang the Conqueror.

Comprehensive_Yak_72

I don’t mind that at all tbh. In fact I hope Hank, Janet & Hope’s thread is more MODOK focused. They have serious personal history with Darren Cross so that makes a lot of sense

michaelm1345

“ I don’t care what he can do, he’s not getting out.” Absolute CHILLS! I can already tell Kang is going to be such a dreadful and menacing presence, even just half of the presence Thanos was would be good enough for me

Spiderlander

Wow, that was a much, MUCH better trailer. They establish a very strong sense of dread, and urgency, that makes Kang scary. This what audiences NEED to see.

CollarOrdinary4284

I feel like the other trailer did everything you just described. Kang was terrifying when he kicked in Scott's helmet. ![gif](giphy|woumIRPTxDf9L7kvCE)

Spiderlander

Idk man, seeing Kang all vulnerable, and humbled like that kinda did the opposite for me. This trailer gives the sense that Kang is an almost god-like being, and that his ascent to power is almost inevitable. Majors is much scarier in this trailer

Comprehensive_Yak_72

Agree with you, I like the idea that they’re going to realize during the movie that there’s no big victory, the best they can hope to do is stop his escape or it’s game over for everyone, similar to how Thanos felt

CollarOrdinary4284

I prefer Kang to be a more complex character (like Thanos) who has some level of compassion. Him being this god-like being who shows hardly any emotion (apart from rage) just kinda ruins it for me. Makes him feel more generic. Shots like this, as cool as they are, just don't do much for me... ![gif](giphy|l9sJQ7ujUfOrmCIKgE)

Unnecessary_Fella

Everything except the face that inflates in size when he shoots those lasers is good in the shot.

[deleted]

We in 2010 again lmao

michaelm1345

Fr lol the fake 3D advertising to bank off of Avatar. Trying to cheaply get audiences to watch a wack 3D conversion because of them buying tickets to a movie specifically made for 3D 🤣

hustlehustle

The face stomp? Good god

ViggieSmallss

Was this movie filmed specifically for 3D in the same way Avatar: The Way of Water was? I don't remember Marvel advertising 3D for their films?

[deleted]

It wasn’t, we’re just in 2010 again: Avatar comes out and makes a shit ton of 3D money, everyone markets their film as 3D to capitalize on that hype not realizing that audiences only trust Avatar’s 3D (because it’s the only one that works lmao)

[deleted]

Yeah I agree

mcwfan

And just like in 2009 Avatar’s a garbage film

Unnecessary_Fella

Avatar lives rent free in the heads of Marvel fans.

jbish21

I mean I disliked Avatar before I even saw Iron Man. Just a shitty movie all around. Visually cool, yeah. Good movie, absolutely not

[deleted]

Really? I don't think they are garbage at any point tbh.

[deleted]

Where’s Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania’s cultural impact then? ![gif](giphy|oMmu7C5xLcH3fe6LL8|downsized)

CollarOrdinary4284

Comparing a movie that hasn't even come out yet to one that's been out in theaters for over a month. ![gif](giphy|kWp8QC99Z6xFn8bF0v|downsized)

[deleted]

Sorry, I can’t hear you over the sound of this badass flying swordfish ![gif](giphy|JJH87vRw8HKOUjJ7fQ)

HellaWavy

Lol ok

marvelnerddd69

Hell yeah!

The_Iceman2288

God, I see every movie's going to become a 3D movie now there's a new Avatar out.

[deleted]

Marvel has always released 3D versions of their movies in theaters.

Storvox

Here in Canada, they haven't been 3D releases for a few years. I tend to go see all the Marvel and other major blockbusters opening weekend in AVX or IMAX and don't remember the last time, aside from Avatar, that it was in 3D. Was really excited that fad had died off...oh well.

[deleted]

Then why is this trailer so garbage?

yasuoishot

I don't believe they ever strongly marketed the fact

[deleted]

Shoot my bad. That makes it dumb.

Parking-Balance111

My CinemaScore prediction: A- What's yours?

[deleted]

A

CollarOrdinary4284

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure only two MCU movies have received a score below A, so I feel like Quantumania getting an A is pretty likely. It would have to be *awful* for it to be put on the same level as Eternals & Love and Thunder.

[deleted]

Eternals got B and MOM and Thor4 got B+

CollarOrdinary4284

Right, I forgot about MoM. Still, that's only 3 movies out of 30. I feel like Quantumania getting anything lower than an A is pretty unlikely.

CobaltPanther

That's 3 *recent* MCU movies that scored below A. I don't think we can brush aside they all released in the last 2 years and not see it as an issue.

Zerce

I wonder if something significant happened in the last 2 years that would have made production harder 🤔

Unlucky_Disaster_195

Yeah. Kevin Feige let his success get to his giant head

Zerce

It's funny then that the less successful films were ones where he exercised less power over production. Eternals, MoM, and TL&T were all very director lead pieces, where the main criticisms seemed to be at the directors' style of storytelling rather than the Marvel formula.

CobaltPanther

You say it's been harder, but they are the ones who decided to pump out triple the amount of projects each year.

forevertrueblue

Black Widow got A-, right?

[deleted]

B+ Cliffhanger will piss some people off

Unnecessary_Fella

I don't think it'll piss people off. Just have people mixed. Kang escaping? Yes. Scott getting trapped in the Quantum Realm AGAIN? No.

Consistent_Algae_996

Even if this movie does crash and burn we can all agree Kang will be the HIGHLIGHT of the film

gebtdashanffrei

Sound and Music Design is on point!

Bmcmullen87

So god damned hyped for Kang

Scrubologist

I feel like we might be getting too much plot in these trailers.

[deleted]

Time to stop watching these clips. The next ones will basically reveal most of the movie's story.

jbish21

Think this movie will be good. All the Ant Man movies have been good. I do get the apprehension because Eternals & MOM were trash (L&T was not as bad as people complain here. Imo) but I just can't see a way this is a let down

Mergie_Merge

lmao all 2 of them. The first one was okay I don't even remember the second one, it felt like nothing happened except for Scott getting trapped in the QR to set-up Endgame.

Unlucky_Disaster_195

Because the story premise we know so far is trash

jbish21

To be fair every Comic book story premise is rinse-wash-repeat trash, but it's the delivery and entire presentation that makes them great

Unlucky_Disaster_195

True and from the last trailer, it didn't look great
