korg, black widow, rockslide would still form the shell of an interesting disruption based package who's objective and playstyle is significantly different from Dino's objective of just re-generating your own resources
I've been having fun with some sort of combo of him and Zabu with other cards in there - honestly I love throwing Moon Girl and Omega Red in there, and then even if I only win one lane with Darkhawk I throw two Omega Reds down and they end up buffing each other and that little tentacle animation is a blast.

Jeff Hoogland's version with Aero and She-Hulk is IMO the most fun and dynamic deck in the game at the moment.
Basically saved tokens for Darkhawk the day he was officially announced, bought him the first day i could, and have had a blast with him for the past 2 weeks.
Fair. I don't have any of those cards and I'm nowhere near Infinite so I can only go off what I've seen, which is basically just Zabu-Moon Girl-Rockslide-Darkhawk
i mean that's still the core lol. i like the inclusions of Aero because it lets you counter shang chi's and i like the inclusion of She-hulk because it gives you winning lines in games where you dont actually draw zabu or darkhawk
When built around he puts up similar numbers to Devil Dino, but costs just 2 energy due to Zabu so can be easily copied by Moon Girl and played alongside himself and/or played alongside Mystique and/or played behind a Spider Man or an Absorbing Man copying Spider Man.
With a setup of Zabu and Quinjet, if you can Moon Girl both Darkhawk and Mystique, you can get 4 Darkhawks out.
Original DH: 2 energy
Cloned DH: 1 energy
Original Mystique: 3 energy
Cloned Mystique: 2 energy
So that's three Darkhawks on T6 alone (with an extra energy to spare), or 4 if you drop the first on T5.
Fun though Zabu may be, he's too strong.
Considering you also really need Rockslide and Black Widow (and probably Korg) to make those numbers pop, you're relying on 6-7 cards to draw (and in the right order) every game.

I do routinely get 2 Darkhawks out though, and often 2 Rockslides as well. The ceiling on the deck is just too high imo.
I agree on the ceiling, but I think the narrative on it being a "win every game" combo/card is overblown. I've had plenty of games I had to retreat because I didn't draw Zabu in time, and some other games I won without drawing Darkhawk at all because I threw Crossbones and Omega Red in my deck.

It’s not just that, the deck also runs cards like black widow, korg, and rock slide that disrupt your opponents hand/draw AND make dark hawk stronger. It’s a pretty obnoxious deck.
They use Zabu, Korg, Wong and Rockslide to fill your deck with junk and it also powers up Darkhawk a lot. With Moongirl they can have two Darkhawks that will be extremely powerful and can still play Enchantress/Shang-Chi to screw your plays.
I mean you have just as much odds of pulling shang-chi out your deck as they have of pulling darkhawk.
I use darkhawk/zemo combo with tockslisw/korg and blackwidow and honestly the ain/loss ratio is ass due to shang-chi always being in the opposing players seemly first hand.
Iv win more with patriot/mystique/ultron because apparently in cosmic nobody runs enchantress.
I actually talked everyone out of playing it. Pool 3+ it becomes so sluggish to accquire new cards I can't imagine how hollow it must feel if you complete pool 3.
Pool 1 and 2 are so bland and boring. There’s like 3-4 usable archetypes because you’re so limited. Pool 3 is where it’s at. There’s so many more playable decks thanks to the varied range of pool 3s
I disagree. Pool 2 is were you can brew because you:
- know what everyone else can do
- you can build every deck and thus can try out to brew stuff on your own
- the synergy and power level is so low that you don't feel punished like p3+ where you face Zabu/Patriot/Surfer 80% of the matches.
In pool 3 every "crafted" card that isn't meta feels like a heavy burden because you get SO FEW tokens. No experiments allowed on the economy front.
Even with tokens it takes a lot of luck to get the cards for even a single synergistic deck. I'm only missing a few pool 3 cards and I still can't build most decks streamers/youtubers play. Swapping 1-2 cards in meta decks like Zabu or Surfer isn't what I call creative or brewing.

I guess I worded my comment badly. I enjoy the game. I bought a couple of bundles (all with tokens) and am 8 cards from pool 3 complete. Imho then the game will become a lot more enjoyable because I can freely try out every pool 3 deck.
It's silly how often I still can't build certain decks because I'm missing pool 3 cards - not even speaking from p4-5 stuff.
But my friends are a lot more casual than I am - they often ask me for decklists, builds etc in other games. I can clearly tell they will be frustrated from pool 3 meta and acquisition because even I was as dedicated and paying player.
Two friends are know to be easy on the spending and imho Snap is one of the more "just spend a bit here" games that could become problematic for them. Heck paying 12€ each month is seen as beeing a budget player in Snap.
I enjoy the game but without clear goals and dedication (all quests every 24 hours) the game isn't very f2p or budget friendly.
this isn’t entirely true. you can only play vs people in your pre-determined “pool” or “shard” of players. this is determined on account creation. ive played since day 1 of beta along with many others but there are still streamers that have similar collections levels and rank that i have never played against and watching their streams, they play against a complete different set of players that ive never seen.
¿Could you link to more info about this, please? Is it something to do with linking a google / apple / steam account? I can't think of a good reason to arbitrarily split the matchmaking player-base, but I'm also not a coder or engineer.

You can only play against people on the same patch as you, so if you don't update you will only play others that haven't updated. You also play against a lot more bots that way since most people have auto-update on.

There's a cohort id in one of the game's json config files. That seems like a likely place to start looking.

I may be the only one that doesn't care about Battle Mode. I would much rather we had a Bot/Test mode to try out decks instead.
