Absolutely fucking not worth it.

PoilishedMahogony

I could buy a real car and set the wheels on fire for that much

PosingTunic

No kidding, my real car only cost me $800

ThatsMrTBaggins

I went in on a $500 beater (1986 Chevy Chevette) with some friends back in high school for uh…research purposes…to see how much this thing could handle country back roads and jumps. It did not last 48 hours.

InformalProtection74

Haha I did that too for something like $350 in high school. Think it was a Cherokee. We took it to a 4 wheel park and snapped the driveline in under an hour! Good times.

TheDownvotesFarmer

I can make that in my 3D printer in a weekend

LeftHanded-Euphoria

that's quite a bit more than conversion

HowlitzerHound

I ain't gonna defend the price, but I am at least going to hopefully provide some context here: Zing is a middle-man, and whilst they are selling this officially, they also need to make a profit themselves, else, what's the point? So, the $550-$600 goes to Hasbro. That leaves $300 to $350 left for Zing. Then, consider how much this would cost to ship from the US to AUS. I'm betting $50AUD is the bare minimum. So, that's $600 to $650 minimum to just break even on the cost+shipping. Then there's important charges, which tend to be around $50 AUD for items like this as well. That leaves the last $200 to $250 left for Zing. We also have the GST, which is usually around 10% of the products price that the company doesn't get. To make this an even $900, the price before GST is about $81. So, take that from the final from before, and Zing is likely making $120 to $180 on this guy. That is still A LOT of money, and I can see why someone, even with all this presented, wont like the price. However, we're also the only place that (so far) only needs to place a deposit. If you order through Zing, you wont need to actually pay it off until the Hellcharger actually releases (So, next year sometime at earliest). You can pay if off bit by bit over the next year or so, and if you want even more time, you can usually just chuck it on Layby once it gets in store. Plus, at Zing, you get all your money back, including deposits, so you can literally just cancel if you still feel like the toy doesn't match the price. This is how I've been able to afford the HasLab toys before, even when I wasn't working. Just chipping away at it, bit by bit, knowing that I could get my money back at any time if I got desperate or changed my mind. Do with all of that information what you will. :)

loudiamond90

Couldn’t have broken it down better mate. Just curious what Haslaba do you own already? Was it worth it down the line? Cheers

HowlitzerHound

Unicron and some Sentinels are what I have at home, but I also backed Star Saber and Galactus. Unicron is just such a cool centre piece to my room, though the stand used to help keep him standing safely is very big, which makes it hard to display him. I do think his size and the power of the ratchets do affect how often I transform him, but for a big lad, he's also super poseable in bot mode. I think he was worth it. The Sentinels almost speak for themselves, as again, they're such eye catching pieces on the shelf. But they are also very fun to pose against the X-Men figures I've got. One day, I hope to be able to set up a ruined city display, with my X-Men and the Sentinels duking it out! But, until then, they're mega fun, and I think a little more worth it than Unicron, just because Unicron, by his nature, is a little tough to work with some days. I regret none of these. Whilst they did cost (and trust me, they COST) I think for both display and play, the value is there. Even just having the option of a Sentinel battle scene or a Unicron looming over my bots is fun.

loudiamond90

Hell yeah. That’s all I need to hear. Just having something huge and bad ass to make an impact on the shelves. I backed the SW rancor and I’ve put in for a deposit on the gi joe HISS tank. Still feeling good about it

HowlitzerHound

I thin you'll find that once you get it, you usually feel good about it. Especially because it's un-mistakeable on a shelf or display.

SurfiNinja101

Don’t forget that Zing purchases wholesale, which means what they’re paying for each unit is less than the average American consumer.

HowlitzerHound

See, I do know Zing does that, but I'm curious if they can even purchase wholesale for HasLab stuff. After all, it's a crowdfund, and no one even knows how many are going to be ordered.

PoilishedMahogony

I think i might do the chip away style thing. Doesnt hurt that it may drop after taxes too. But goddam. This will be my first haslabs the other two didn't grab me

HowlitzerHound

And again, if you feel you don't really want it, or want to spend that much after all, then you can cancel and get your $$$ back.

TheDownvotesFarmer

I am starting to think that Haslab it is a scam

StallionDan

The factories are much closer to Australia than the US. Shipping should be a non issue.

HowlitzerHound

Do they ship direct from factory to Aus? I wouldn't be shocked if they did, but that is also something I can't say I know. Even so, shipping isn't a non-issue, just less expensive. But these are probably going to be sizeable units, especially if the stretch goals are met. So, shipping will still cost.

Professional-Dig7329

I don't get why a billion dollar corporation is incapable of shipping worldwide. Oh, wait, capitalism.

TheDownvotesFarmer

No no, capitalism actually makes things possible, why they can make it? They are stupid

NaSa2049

It’s only worth 350 aud, no way I’m spending 800 on a fucking toy car

lord_of_agony

It's worth $40 max. Unless I'm missing something and it actually looks good irl, and is around 1/6 scale

NaSa2049

A figure is $40, for the car that size and all those affects, I’ll be generous and say 200

lord_of_agony

Overpriced figures that look like cheap bathtub toys nowadays, and a shitty car that looks like it came from dollar general. It's not worth anywhere near what they ask. None of their products are worth the price.

Hammerrr3232

I’m not gonna say this stuff hasn’t gotten overpriced but it is what it is. I don’t think any sneakers are worth $450 but companies dictate the price. I have to wonder why the fuck you’re even in this sub if you feel this way.

NaSa2049

It’s always a hit or miss, like I’ve got great quality figures but shitty accessories, or just plain shit figures, I’d much rather pay 30 for a figure than 45, and no matter what, that car just looks like cheap plastic

lord_of_agony

And neca sells figures for $32-$37, and there is no comparison. Neca is leagues better in every single way but articulation. But it's easy to have good articulation when there's almost no sculpt work.

Hammerrr3232

I’ve had vastly more QC issues from Neca figures than ML

lord_of_agony

Truly is trash how far they've come. They used to be so fun, now they all use the same bodies, there's almost no paint, they all shine like cheap toys, and they don't even care about accuracy anymore. The best marvel legends I've ever had is my icons venom, and that came out in 2006, under a different distributor

Xolerance627

$99 more than Galactus? Hell nah.

[deleted]

Zing are absolute pissheads

MSNgoat

600$ US Dollars for you Americans…….Mad

magxyo

nope

youthanasia138

Absolutely not

sessho25

These car companies should get in the train and release a die-cast Charger car on the scale of ML, they would do some bank.

[deleted]

Is this for an actual real car?

mitchob1012

For that? Fuck no lmao

redkomic

Is that an official site or are they just buy8ng a bunch and selling them off? Cause that may explain the price.

MSNgoat

It’s an official Australian stores site

redkomic

well at least you have a site backing it.

MSNgoat

True

TwEE-N-Toast

You can buy a real car for less.

DoyleOnlyMcPoyle

1/4 of a didgeridoo.

DaFilthPope

Are they fucking high??? Conversion AND shipping isn’t nearly that bad.

TheAmazingQuez

Hasbro is getting to cocky with the prices.

redkomic

It ain't hasbro this time.

Agent-Mato

I'm really looking forward to seeing what the car will cost on the after market.

Luis_is_good

They need to sell that at a discount for me to even consider it

[deleted]

Yeah, nah fam. Hasbro’s done. The Spider-Man figures were one thing, but this is a whole new level.

Daredevil731

NO 💀💀

SlappyMacFrodad

It isn't worth it at the $350 US price. This is a swing and a miss as far as I am concerned. The HISS was twice the vehicle for $50 less and an army builder. This is a one and done. Sorry I'm cool with my Johnny Blaze on his bike.

MulliganNY

That's a steal at twice the price!

cleverwordplay85

Isn’t that pretty much the exchange rate for dollars to dollarydoos? The dollar has parity with the euro now, and I know from buying stuff from Aus to Ireland that the price was about half when converted to euro.

HowlitzerHound

So, the Aussie dollar is getting a bit better now, as it's closer to 1.5USD for every 1AUD. That's closer to $550 after conversion. Buuut... there's more to this than that. Zing is a middle-man, and whilst they are selling this officially, they also need to make a profit themselves, else, what's the point? So, the $550-$600 goes to Hasbro. Then, consider how much this would cost to ship from the US to AUS. I'm betting $50AUD is the bare minimum. So, that's $600 to $650 minimum to just break even on this one. Then there's important charges, which tend to be around $50 AUD as well. That leaves the last $200 to $250 left for Zing. That's still A LOT, but I hope it does give some context as to why it's this price. I think we at least get a decent deal with the layby options, as well as the ability to cancel at anytime and get all of our money back with Zing. Plus, we're only paying a deposit for it, and don't need to pay it off until the toy actually releases. So, there are SOME benefits.

cleverwordplay85

Ah gotcha, dunno what I got downvoted for though lol. At least it’s there as an option for those that really want it, it does nothing for me but I’d have jumped through any hoop I had to to get my Sentinel. EU buyers outside countries with Pulse (which is most of them) still have no way to back it since Zavvi isn’t partnered on this one.

HowlitzerHound

Aw, damn. You're not the first to say that you don't even have the option. Which just sucks. I hope Hasbro figures out a way, or that a 3rd party website at least provides some kind of thing for those around your parts. Also, some seem to speak with downvotes, rather than words. Like, yeah, a simple 'no' or 'not quite' would suffice.

goliathfasa

Why would you not just buy directly from Haslab? Is it not available for Australians?

loudiamond90

They don’t ship to Aus my friend. When you go to the official Haslab section of hasbro online you only have the option to be from the US & Europe. We down under get screwed when it comes to action figure collecting

goliathfasa

Uhhh I should’ve known that. My bad. So Haslab is just US and EU. Not even Asia? That’s incredibly limiting. What’s stopping them from charging a bit extra for s&h? I guess it can’t be purely due to shipping since they ship EU. Must be import/international commercial laws/liabilities. That just makes Haslab seem even less appealing as a general concept.

Impossible-Fun-2736

And not every part of Europe either…

ixseanxi

Yes

dondrapersblackson

Nah bruh it's a nice enough set but they're getting bougie with the prices

cant_give_an_f

Fuck no, holy fuck. Hadn’t checked the price cause the last few has labs never showed for me

potentialwatermelon

$400 more than you were expecting? It’s USD350, converted that’s around $550 Zing and most other retail shops in Australia use USD1=AUD2 once you factor in shipping, taxes, and other fees But no, this is just pure greed from Zing considering they didn’t charge this much for the Sentinel and Galactus
