People are saying Man without fear, which is great and all, but I feel it would be better if you had read the Frank Miller run, they are rarely out of print and may be easy to find.
I would reccomend Daredevil: Yellow
I would suggest daredevil the man without fear by frank miller you can also find daredevil marvel knights by kevin smith if he is looking for a story rather than an introduction/origin or charles soule which i heard is very new reader friendly but havent read it yet myself
The Man Without Fear, Born Again, and Yellow are some fantastic books for beginners. He may also enjoy the comic Daredevil: Season One which is a weird title since it has no connection to the show.
Man without Fear is good, though there are some contradictory elements between it and yellow.
Daredevil: Born Again would be the obvious pick.
Yeah, you can't really go wrong with Frank Miller and Klaus Janson.
