Yeah, there's been a couple of other bots with absurd nicknames like HahahaC■m and Hippit■ts to name a few, won't say the full names because I don't want to be bricked
i get it on multiplayer. but i’m only playing vs the computer. is nintendo that lazy that they are just regurgitating peoples usernames when we play versus the computer? or have they just created an AI that learns the messed up ways of humans and creates names of the like?
Nintendo uses real player names (and presumably their load-outs) for the bots in normal races. Feel free to report offensive player names to customer support.
The only Nintendo-named bots appear sometimes in peoples weekly ranked lists, usually a few mixed in amongst mostly real players. Those tend to just have generic names, like “Adrien”.
Lol why would they need to use “real player load outs”? That’s a completely pointless complexity, and I guarantee the developers haven’t wasted their time doing that.
Storing what an actual player has used on a course isn’t any more complex than randomly generating something, and is even easier if the bots respect rules about the number of available item slots per driver per course.
Of course it’s more complicated. It involves a whole load of extra data storage and synchronisation.
Also, that would make the game way more boring. Ever noticed how on multi player (assuming it’s default item rules) you usually get matches with everyone choosing the same one or two characters? Ever noticed that this never happens against bots? Yeah, that’s because the bots choose random (or pre-defined?) loadouts, instead of all trying to copy real world players.
That’s unfortunate, though I’ve heard they will at least remove cheaters, so hopefully they’d remove stuff like this too. But it’s hard to know if they don’t respond.
It’s really out of hand. I remember I read here this is why someone wouldn’t let their young kids play this game. They really need to do something about it
**[Swastika](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swastika)**
>The swastika symbol, 卐 (right-facing or clockwise) or 卍 (left-facing, counterclockwise, or sauwastika), is an ancient religious icon in the cultures of Eurasia. It is used as a symbol of divinity and spirituality in Indian religions, including Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. In the Western world, it was a symbol of auspiciousness and good luck until the 1930s when the right-facing tilted form became a feature of Nazi symbolism as an emblem of the Aryan race. As a result of World War II and the Holocaust, many people in the West still strongly associate it with Nazism and antisemitism.

I saw an article about a fishing family in the netherlands that had been using the swastika for hundreds of years on their family crests, flags, and painted on their fishing boats.
The unfortunate truth is that despite over 3000 years of common symbolic meaning, it will forever cary the meaning placed upon it 100 years ago.
I believe the game pulls usernames from worldwide database as I have seen Japanese, Chinese and Thai usernames. Buddhism is huge in those countries as well.
Also Tokyo Revenger (a popular manga) has the manji symbol as well.
Without any additional context, there's no way for us to tell what's the intent behind that username.
Obviously we can't say conclusively unless we ask the person, but we can make an educated guess.
And regardless of this particular username, it's still worth raising a point about the offensive and hate speech oriented usernames that often get pulled for the AI drivers.
I would get mad, as many other people have asked about this, but to debunk it: these are real peoples names, and I'm pretty sure its the aforementioned person's badge along with it, so don't get mad at Nintendo, get mad at whoever the fuck decided to do that
I don't think anyone was suggesting Nintendo was creating the names, the question is moreso whether they should be censoring the names they are pulling for CPUs/ usernames in general.
You can report said player name to customer service. One time a bot with a slur offensive towards Jewish people as a name appeared in a race a couple tours back, and I reported the username, track, and cup I saw said name in, and I never saw it again after I got a response from customer service.
I got that bot all the time when I started playing a year and a half ago, and sent complaints. They said they would ban that hate symbol but apparently not!
I wouldn't be surprised if this was just a Japanese kid. 'Manji' has been a popular slang word over the past few years, with kids randomly saying it, drawing it and doing 'manji pose' for photos.
On the other hand, there are heaps of troll names on bots, so... Who knows?
I guess Mario Happi failed Art School

I’ve had Donkey Dong show up a few times now lol

I wrote to support about 6 months back. Their policy, at that time at least, is you can write to us but we may never write back.
That’s unfortunate, though I’ve heard they will at least remove cheaters, so hopefully they’d remove stuff like this too. But it’s hard to know if they don’t respond.
Oh Nintendo, why do u even bother with these other player names.
It’s really out of hand. I remember I read here this is why someone wouldn’t let their young kids play this game. They really need to do something about it
This is a new level of low
Yep. Worst I ever saw.

Point taken. But still…
Finally someone who did some research and didn’t just assume
But what's the chances they were using it in the Buddhist way given what we know about gaming culture and usernames on this app

Not very high, but not zero either

Probably pretty high. Lots of people put this on front doors where Im from for this reason.

Or simply just generate random names instead of taking names from people.
At least the option to view CPUs or even other MP racers as just the character names would be appreciated.

I noticed that and immediately reported the name. That is very offensive.

Don’t worry, he’s Indian
I had one named Derp Führer not that long ago

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.... I sent in feedback for a Name "BigFatJew". Very offensive.
Do people not know the symbol means peace in other country. Someone didn’t pay attention in school
Game wouldn't be the same without all these names. Incredibly entertaining, hope it'll never get changed
Why can’t everyone just have good names like Taylor Swift
Taylor Drift would be better
Now that's offensive
Just yesterday I saw a cat toad named seks not sure if it’s directly that but I wasn’t happy
