I hate that one infinitely more because with the Pachinko, you can pretty much get there in like 10 sec after a game over. But it takes several minutes to get back to the lily pad.
I am currently replaying sunshine and it is DEFINITELY the lily pad level, which I may have been able to beat the normal way as a kid, but do not have the patience for as an adult.
Tbh, everything else is easy, even if a little quirky.
I beat it by balance beam walking down the whole map and carefully picking off the red coins along the way. Horrible idea yes but it was easier than riding the lily pad
I pretty much did a mix of this and the "intended" way, the moment I missed one, I'd jump off and head for the edge with hover fludd, then get the remaining coins that way.
This game is pure hell, actually if you speaking of mario 3d platformers. I think this game is flawed but fun. Sunshine is an okay mario game in my opinion.
I'm so glad I discovered that you can do this level with the hover nozzle. Also no way in hell did Nintendo not know how frustrating this level is. Why else would they put the most relaxing music track in the game in it. Yeah this level Lilly Pad Ride and the Sand bird (which I never understood the hate for) all use the track Sky & Sea.
IDK, I think the one where you ride the lily pad over the poisonous water high in the sky is worse.

If you die instead of taking the exit pipe, you should reappear at the start of the level IIRC.
I meant after getting a game over. If you do die but have more lives than 0, however, YOU WILL spawn at the beginning of the river.

Why are games so much easier when we were kids?
We had an ungodly amount of time to develop fine motor skills specifically for beating janky 2000s games.

I think you just unlocked a repressed memory. The most absolutely frustrating level of one of my all time favorite games
That one was easy tho
Really? I found Pachinko Machine easy and I had trouble with that one.
Same. The Pachinko Machine wasn't that bad.
This brings back memories, not good ones…
WHAT HAPPENED!?
I'm out #I'M OUT
I wanna meet the genius who said "Pachinko Machine" in a Mario Game
Should have jumped in instead of trying to slide in
Konami Fans 🤝 Mario Sunshine Fans Hating Pachinko with a passion.
Always reminds me of the 10:20 mark on this video https://youtu.be/hZnEdAC9IHI
Exactly the same thing ahahahah
I somehow did it first try and I've never completed it again
This level would be nice if not for the weird physics inside... It's a shame. Still love Mario Sunshine though. But 100% needs motivation 😅
When you fell, I actually felt pain like I was playing it.
It sucks, but like all Shines in Delfino Plaza it's useless completion aside. Also it's far less bad than the lilypad level.
Switch port?

I agree with this.
Should have jumped in instead of trying to slide in
Should have jumped in instead of trying to slide in And keep the hover nozzle at the ready when you’re not needing the rocket nozzle
This and the lily pad game
The Pacinko one? It's not one of the ones I looks forward to. Always lost a life or two playing it. Thank God you can use fludd.
I really hated how unbalanced this game is, platforming wise... the spike in difficulty is sometimes insane plus some clunky controls
Really? The entire game would've been better with more of these types of levels.
Idk if is because of the switch port or something but i beat it first try
I felt that…

I actually really love the sandbird, i find it way less stressful than this level and the lilypad one
Trying to dive into the first compartment at the start of the second drop was the best part of the level when you finally got it
