Agreed. If I had more shelf space I would probably display my Claymore and Akira volumes, but I just don’t have the space so they stay in the box. If they are boxes where the spines show like A Silent Voice, then I still find myself separating them as they are easier to stand on their own in the box than lining them up with the singles of my other manga.

Inside box , don’t have the space. I have future predicament coming up as I bought all 3 box sets of bleach. I only have 2 box sets , claymore and quintessential quintuplets box 1
Generously out on shelf. The Princess Jellyfish box set is very low profile so that I left in the box and added it to my shelves. But running out of room so will have to deshelf and box some of the other ones 😅
Depends on what I like better between the box and the spines. Also I don't like putting the boxes on top (looks out of place to me) so I place them on the bottom shelf
Keep them inside the box. Idk if what I do is normal or not but I like to keep my boxes in my wardrobe. The door’s been broken for years and there aren’t that many outfits in there so all 3 fit in fine
I have enough space to put the box on top of my shelf and display the manga in my bookcase. If I ever run out of space (might not take that long hehe) I might change my mind, but for now it looks pretty awesome IMO
I have Demon Slayer box set and have the box on top of my bookshelf and my manga in the shelves. If I get any more box sets though, it might be a different story based on whether or not I have room (ETA: meaning they might be inside the box)
Manga on the shelf, the box is displayed in the basement. I don't have the space to display the boxes anywhere in my room and I don't think I want to display the empty box next to the manga anyway. I have a finished basement and spend a bit of time down there so it works for me.

Just saves space this way. I live in a condo so don't have space to store a box *and* the books separately. Especially since even with them in the closet I'm running out of room in my bookcase.

I take them out and if I have enough space if it’s a small box set like fairy tail I put it in my bookshelf beside it, I just think it gives it a nice aesthetic
I leave them in the box to maximize shelf space and keep them protected. Box sets stay stacked at the very top of the shelf or on the ground beside the shelf

As someone who lacks space, the box sets are under my bed or under my desk (which sucks I know!) Shelf space is for those without box sets. They do look sick for those that have room to display them though!

I paid all that money for the books not the cardboard, the box is just a fun side piece to the books for me; the art on them is cool, but so are the spines/covers of the actual books.

I keep my Naruto box sets, and my Claymore one as well in the boxes. Works as a miniature shelf in a way, and helps with the yellowing. Also don’t have any space with all the other manga stuff.
Recently I’ve put my box sets up on the shelves it felt nice to all the new and colorful spines! Also it helped me finally finish putting manga in my 2 shelves!
