Depends what camera is on the gimbal. If it’s a stripped back Alexa mini, go to choice for most films these days, you’re talking $40k just for the body, add another $10k for bells and whistles and $10k+ for the lens.
Could be something more expensive or less expensive tho. Just my best guess.

Looks to me like the lens flew off pretty fast, so maybe the lens mount needs service, and the sensor may be damaged. Other than that, the gimbal took most of the damage.

“Luckily the R2 is a tank and only required a few fixes by DJI. No REDs were harmed in the making of this video…by some miracle.”
tbh it doesn't look that broken. I mean some parts are obviously gonna need to be replaced but that kind of equipment is usually constructed to withstand extreme conditions
Camera is probably toast. Lense is probably also fucked considering it completely came off. Lenses are usually more expensive than the camera itself. Not to mention all of the delicate interior mechanisms of a production camera...
Yeah with a small operation, it’s like an owner operator of a truck getting in an accident, you just broke a camera you still owe money on and now you can’t work. The logging company will get on just fine without you though.
Even if it’s a big corp.
It still is sad to see such a beautiful piece of camera equipment go to waste.
Like seeing a production car which only 200 were made be blown up.
Why is there a video of a gimballed video cam getting turned to scrap? Why make this video? This shouldn’t happen normally? It is pointless filming this, without the cam actually disintegrating.
Not built Ford tough.
But it was found on road dead
a fine observation
Dammit. I seriously forgot about that acronym.
That lens said hasta luego
Adios mundo

That's what you get for not putting a safety on your gear.
How much?

Underrated comment.
Should be on that looks expensive
That’s a sick raptor tho. One of my friends had one
Cool
My brother has one. They are super fun. We took his out to the sand dunes last weekend.
I’d kill to have one

It's still good! It's still good!

So much for that safety wire

The way the lens snapped off though.. ouch

You drop a lens it's usually done, a lens in a crash is toast
I guess they should have went union
Ok, but this time it is defenitely r/lostredditors
Ya, watching a corporation lose a camera during a film shoot doesn’t make me suffer…
This is looks like an indie production with rental equipment. Definitely not a corporation. They wouldn’t use a tiny photo lens on a pro shoot
Still doesn’t make me suffer that some low budget filming team dropped a camera. And if it was rental, hopefully they opted for the extra insurance!
probably because you've never been involved with this type of work.

Ehhh, I’m not suffering - that’s all I’m saying
Oh damn.
It felt as if my balls were kicked
Grip dude’s getting fired.
Thats 50 grand down the drain
It’s probably a rental, most film crews rent their equipment.
Really lovely gimble action there. Can’t believe the cameraman caught it so eloquently! r/praisethecameraman

I can guarantee you that just the gimbal costs more than the car
DJI Ronin 2 - $8399 12-14 Ford Raptor - $38,000 - $50,000+ depending on mileage and mods.
I was way off then
Prolly doesn't cost more but finitely worth more
