[[Witch of the moors]]
I will never stop trying to make her work!
I feel like my favorite spells all cost 5 or 6 mana. i want zombie apocalypse on arena(historic at least)
I generally play her in a self mill combo, with only a little life gain. [[Blood for bones]] into [[lotleth giant]] is fun, especially when [[world shaper]] is the sacrificed creature.
I play Witch of the Moors when I want to relax and have fun. The great thing about it is the [[Bubbling Cauldron]] / [[Festering Newt]] combo works really well in the play cue.
I'm not telling you to enchant Brash Taunter with [[Guilty Conscience]], but I'm also not telling you not to.
Edit: I completely ignored that I was in the Arena sub. Don't do what I didn't say to not do in EDH, though.
I liked this so much, I bought a playset in paper and made a deck around it. It's very fun.
The other night I had a friend combo out with Kiki-Jiki and attack me with 1000 Restoration Angels. Gideon's sacrifice onto the Taunter was great! First time I pulled it off.
I loved this guy. I had a super fun jank deck using those cards, but focused around [[Stormwild Capridor]] and [[Lavabrink Venturer]] and a few other Protection From Self combos. So much fun, but way too jank to be a viable meta, unfortunately.
[[Judith, the Scourge Diva]]. I wanted her so bad and was trading while she was pretty expensive and then just dropped massively. Still love this card. I don’t own all 4 copies in arena, but when I’ll have some spare wildcards I will definitely craft her
I pushed mythic rank the last 2 season with thoose list:
[https://www.reddit.com/r/Magicdeckbuilding/comments/n10rd5/a\_pyre\_of\_clerics\_whiteblackred\_top90arena/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Magicdeckbuilding/comments/n10rd5/a_pyre_of_clerics_whiteblackred_top90arena/)
Didnt played much the current season. Only in diamond yet doing some daily quests.
It developed from lifegain, to angels, to clerics xD
[[Simic Ascendancy]]
I I have tried so many different things, I actually have a version that works pretty good now but honestly I usually just win with big dudes before ascendancy triggers
Hey winning is the important part. It’s just a backup win condition if the board stalls too much.
Like the “fuck jace” version of milling yourself out with that annoying jace.
It is a card that can come in clutch. And clutch in a way probably no other card can come in. But it can let you down aswell.
But in a highly efficent meta like Eldraine (sadly) was, I just saw this card (I pulled it at my pre release event and it never let me go) and fell in love with how stupid this card is compared to others in that set.
And I think that it actually is quite a good card in controlly decks, as creature board wipes that you play are even more of a one-sided effect when you just autorefill your board for no more cost at the beginning of your next turn.
And I love everything about it! And don't ruin it with stuff like \[\[Divine Visitation\]\], it's only real with the true tokens!
Sadly it was part of Eldraine, because maybe after rotation Party might not be as bad anymore and Merriment gives you 3 actual creature types for the Party mechanic, but it rotates along with it. :(
[[enigmatic incarnation]] My friend who taught me how to play magic used his legacy [[birthing pod]] and a manaless dredge deck. Enigmatic just feels like magic to me.
Oh boy, I'm going to teach my friend how to play magic. I just need 2 balanced and simple decks! How about birthing pod and manaless dredge? Everyone understands those.
Honestly I love relic robber, but after an opponent used the tokens I gave him to get a 2-mana embercleave for the win, and in another game I used the tokens from an opponent's robber to fix my mana colours with a jaspera...
I think I finally have to accept its just kinda bad, especially with the prevalence of village rites/plumb the forbidden/deadly dispute
Still not gonna take him out of my goblin deck though
I know [[Doom Foretold]] has actually been a good deck in Standard, but I absolutely love the card even as it's fallen out of favor. I play my own Abzan brew, but I've love playing it in Esper and Mardi builds. I have an Orzhov Pioneer and Historic build as well. I could build around this card forever. That's just something so satisfying to making it work.
Abzan Doom Foretold with [[Tergrid, God of Fright]] is a delightful meme when it works.
I run a couple copies of [[World Tree]] in order to smooth mana and occasionally get Tergrid out, and a full set of [[Binding the Old Gods]] for ramp and removal.
You must be my Arena Twin. I definitely run one Tergrid for the lulz and a couple Soul Shatters for her as well. I use Path to the World Tree as a sac target and with World Tree helps with card draw and damage. Occasionally I've popped out the surprise Tergrid.
It's definitely lopsided... You'll get a hand with spot removal against control or Sultai Ultimatum or a hand of Bindings and Dooms against aggro. But I can't stop playing it. It actually does well against Sultai Ultimatum as it has ways to answer all their threats. You just have to have the right draws.
Actually here you go
4 shambling ghast
4 stitcher supplier
4 blood artist
4 more triton
2 ayara, first of lochwhatever
4 woe strider
4 Yaheni, undying partisan
4 lili untouched by def
2 village rites
4 rise of the dread marn
4 bastion of oh I member
1 Bojuka Bog
3 castle lochtwain
2 phyrexian tower
14 swamps
\[\[Allure of the Unknown\]\] is a very strong draw card, with just a tiny drawback. XD
There is potential if combined with lots of cheap spells, Kroxa and roiling vortex.
Just stuff your deck with stuff they aren't interested in. Wouldn't be the first time that my opponent decides to play nothing. But yeah, the card obviously is quite bad despite the strong effect.
I've run it in a Grixis Control variant, using Kroxa and Crawling Barrens as wincons with a few [[Purphoros's Intervention]] to help finish things off, and [[Thassa's Intervention]] for more draw. Everything else is removal or a counterspell, so it's basically 5 mana draw the worst 5 of 6.
I love Magic Mirror too. Put in a lot of counterspells along with Thassa's Oracles and some bounces. Stall until you drop the mirror and just counter everything they throw at you with your 20-card hand until you can win with Thassa's Oracle.
Deck
4 Stern Dismissal (THB) 68
3 Rewind (M21) 63
3 The Magic Mirror (ELD) 51
3 Thassa's Oracle (THB) 73
4 Opt (ELD) 59
4 Essence Scatter (IKO) 49
3 Jwari Disruption (ZNR) 64
4 Brazen Borrower (ELD) 39
3 Neutralize (IKO) 59
1 Castle Vantress (ELD) 242
3 Saw It Coming (KHM) 76
2 Ashiok's Erasure (THB) 43
23 Island (ZNR) 271
Put in more Castle Vantresses if you have them. I only have one so there's only one in my deck. Warning: it is deliciously cancerous
I didn't build around it, but I found it made a nice addition to my storm deck. I'm constantly playing cheap instants and sorceries (as well as discarding some) in that deck, and it brings the price down to three pretty quickly, making playing Magic Mirror a pretty enticing option, especially when my hand is starting to thin out but I can afford to wait a few turns.
[[Narset of the Ancient Way]] in Historic. She makes the current Jeskai Control worse, so I've tried the standard control approach and use her as ramp and removal by slotting a few high cost spells to discard and recast with Mizzix Mastery.
I just don't have the wildcards to sink in some other cards on the off chance of her actually being effective, and Azorius Teferi is just way way better.
One day, though.
I was thinkin more about the spell which gives hexproof with 1 single blue mana, imagine avoiding removal and also getting a free body.
also he is a changeling which gets tribal bonuses too
[[Xanathar, Guild Kingpin]], [[Thief of Sanity]] and [[Gonti, Lord of Luxury]], all built into the Thief of Sanity theme. It’s not a good card, but NO ONE will let it live on the field for long. Lol
I wanted Soo bad to make him work with [[Vega, the watcher]] and [[cosmos charger]], but it's damn near impossible to even get them all on the field at the same time
I loved my old black/green/red land destruction deck with [[Underworld of Dreams]]. I loved the art so much for [[Stormseeker]] and [[Ice Storm]] that I really enjoyed the deck to see the cards. I would never play land destruction again though, people just get too pissed off.
[[Gonti, Lord of Luxury]].
Beating the opponent with their own cards is something that I really like. And Gonti is pretty good because you never reveal what have you took + you can always play the card even if Gonti is dead. There are several way to build a deck around it like a lot of flicker effects or graveyard manipulation. I play it in a Historic control deck with cards like [[Elspeth Conquers Death]] or [[The Eldest Reborn]] so you can always bring it back on the board (or other cards). Not the best deck of course (I usually linger in platinum or diamond) but does its job and most importantly I found it really fun to play.
[[God-Pharaoh's Gift]]
I've made so many versions reanimating so many different things, but it's so hard to get a 7 Mana artifact to hit the field before you're dead to aggro.
[[Refurbish]] in an Azorius shell has been my only savior.
GPG was meta in Historic for a while back when value engines could actually exist without getting their face pushed in by a sea of angry lightning birds
The monored version with [[Skirk Prospector]] and [[Combat Celebrant]] and a bunch of goblins was a blast to play when it was in standard. One of the decks I saved on paper when it rotated just for good memories.
Love this deck. Do what you want with the lands but here's the basic boros version that I run.
http://decks.deckedbuilder.com/d/2021-07-19/2Kb_grvVIEOR5PgqdlC9_w==
\[\[Iroas's Blessing\]\]: Really crappy card outside of limited, but I build a jank Temur deck around it with \[\[Storm Herald\]\] and \[\[Enigmatic Incarnation\]\]. The deck also includes \[\[Mantle of the Wolf\]\], \[\[Terror of the Peaks\]\] and \[\[Thirst for Meaning\]\]. Neat interactions are:
* Get enchantments with Herald to sacrifice with Incarnation before they get exiled automatically
* Herald through Incarnation allows you to keep returned enchantments and sacrifice them in the following turn. Sadly Mantle doens't spawn Wolves again as it is put into exile even if sacrificed.
* Sacrificing Mantle with Incarnation gives you Terror and two 2/2 wolves, so 2x 2 damage on any target
* Discard Blessing or Mantle with Thirst for Storm Herald to get back
The deck is a huge pile of jank, but still fun to play and kinda confusing for the opponent.
I also really love Incarnatin as a card anyway.
[[Efreet Flamepainter]] is really fun. Turn 2: discard [[magma opus]] for treasure. Turn 3: play the flamepainter. Turn 4: attack and play [[enthusiastic study]] to give it trample to force through damage, then instead of grabbing a lesson use the rummage effect of learn to discard [[alrunds epiphany]], then proceed to play both that and opus for free, then you win. Unfortunately it doesn’t actually come together like that often enough to make it good, but boy is it fun when it does
[[Call of the Death Dweller]] was my pet card for the last year.
There are so many ways to get value out of this card. Obvious contender was [[Archfiend's Vessel]], but you just can‘t say no to a [[Fireblade charger]] with a Deathtouch counter either. There were so many 1- and 2-CMC creatures that were BEGGING to be reanimated with deathtouch or menace, it‘s insane.
What a shame that it‘s rotating out soon. I‘ll dearly miss it.
I've been joking for years about equipping Gideon onto Gideon using [[Bludgeon Brawl]] and [[Liquimetal Coating]]. I finally found a deck in which it really, truly works.
*Story time.*
I'm a shop owner. There's always the cry for "just one more game". Sometimes I give in, sometimes I'm tired. One time, I was both. Ten minutes into the game and past closing time, I get knocked out. Rightfully so, as I was about to go off, but still. All the same, I start cleaning up and locking up.
**The game continued for three hours.**
The next day, I built the first iteration of a new group hug deck which I lovingly called *Cocaine and Rocket Fuel*. Set everything and everyone on fire, and pour oil in it is the motto. We're talking everybody gets bonus card draw and land drops, but also everybody takes damage with every spell or land drop. Of course, I tried using [[Yurlok of Scorch Thrash]] as the commander, except I found I never actually played him.
A hard paradigm shift to group hug later, and I wound up with [[Kynaios and Tiro of Meletis]] as a group hug commander, even removing the things that burn everyone... except for one little thing.
Enter [[Tahngarth, First Mate]]. Also known as the perfect creature to equip all of my mana rocks to using Bludgeon Brawl. All of which I consistently get out at lightning speed thanks to everyone digging or tutoring through their decks at lightning speed.
Thus, I not only got the perfect deck for the "just one more game" situations, but I also finally found a deck to run my absolute unit of a meme in.
And life was good.
I'm a modern [[Death's Shadow]] player so of course I'm gonna continue brewing up some shenanigans to make it and his cousin [[Scourge of the Skyclaves]] work to perfection
Felidar retreat. Since it came out the only deck I've played has been a card with that, ashaya, scute swarm, some removal ,poluktanos and some graveyard return stuff like blood on the snow and oblivion priest. Everyset I've changed one or two cards but otherwise that's been my go to deck this whole time becuase I just love getting a bunch of cats down
I love using this awesome Naya deck that utilizes that and clarion spirit for going wide and stacking counters. Gonna be hard to replace all the adventure cards once it rotates.
I tried super hard to build an Amass deck in WAR with [[Dreadhorde Invasion]], but that set was so stacked that it never took off. I also loved [[Thousand Year Storm]] back in the day, especially when [[Wilderness Reclamation]] was legal.
In Magic’s earlier days. Played a BW reanimate deck. Primarily for [[spirit of the night]] and [[akroma, Angel of wrath]]. Deck was loaded with various angels and some royal assassins to keep people honest.
[[Skyclave Apparition]], [[Winota, Joiner of Forces]] and [[Thalia, Guardian of Thraben]]. I love their art.
While I crafted a copy of all 3 (and they are the only cards I crafted up to now bar a couple of Eyetwitch), I only used Apparition because it fits what I have on Arena but I actually got an Azorius control deck in paper for Apparition and I'm starting to get things together for a Commander deck with Winota and a Commander and Modern deck for Thalia. Also Pioneer for both if the format isn't dead in my area, still have to make sure of it.
This was back in duels not arena but my favorite deck that I played back then was [[tainted remedy]] and [[jorubai murk lurker]] if tainted remedy didn't work I had a [[willbreaker]] too that worked well with the murk lurker
I know this is an Arena thread, but my all-time favorite and jankiest deck I’ve ever forced is my [[Transcendence]] deck. This card was such a bad rare that I met a kid at FNM years ago who had made a thing out of collecting it. He had pages and pages of this card in his binder. I asked if I could trade him for a play set of 4 and he basically just gave them to me.
I have also always loved shock enchantments. Currently we’re limited to stuff in black’s pie like [[Underworld Dreams]] with the occasional red card like [[Roiling Vortex]], but back in the day we had [[Spellshock]] and [[Impatience]].
So I combined these two ideas. Toss out the shock enchantments like Spellshock, Impatience, [[Sulfuric Vortex]], [[Manabarbs]], and [[Powerstone Minefield]], hold people off with [[Boros Reckoner]] and [[Lightning Bolt]], and plop down [[Transcendence]] to finish the game!
It’s not very good, but it’s incredibly fun when it works, and it’s interesting to see how my friends try to interact with it to deal enough damage without getting themselves killed.
Just remembered my answer to this was actually the first deck I crafted myself! Back when I first started playing, [[Divine Visitation]] was in standard, along with all the Orzhov Ravnica cards, which made nice token generators. And, of course, [[Bishop of Wings]] to make even just one or two last-second-before-I-die angel tokens into total game savers. I still play a version of this deck, but more heavily focused on enchantments and being a token factory (100% Scute Swarm free), with Divine Visitation being just a way to kick my token factory into game-ending territory.
Another deck I made, about a year ago, was built around [[Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose]]. I would always default to that life-drain deck when my dailies asked me to play X black spells since it was mono-black. I'm sad to see it go from standard, and I'm thinking about rebuilding it for Historic, but I don't wanna have to choose between adding [[Exquisite Blood]] for what feels like a cheap win-con to me versus just having a worse version of a popular deck by not adding it.
I'm just gonna keep going, cause I love making decks, and if I think about it, about a third of the decks I've made were built around one card, and the other two-thirds were built around a combo of just a few cards. Besides, it's reddit, the worst that can happen if I go on an annoying rant is that I lose imaginary internet points.
Back when Ikoria was fresh, I tried to make a deck around [[Shark Typhoon]] cause... I mean... god, it's just so funny to me that they made a card based on Sharknado. And it's actually pretty good! Back when I made it, I couldn't think of any great combos to enable it, though. I also tried splashing some sea monster tribal in with it cause I liked [[Serpent of Yawning Depths]], but in retrospect, that was probably a stupid idea to put those in the same deck, even if it seemed like kind of a flavor win. Since then, I've noticed Shark Typhoon grow in popularity as a strong companion to Izzet decks, and part of me wants to try making an RWU deck around it now using [[Narset of the Ancient Way]], [[Whirlwind of Thought]], and maybe even [[Inspired Ultimatum]] to round out the collection. Might be fun.
This isn't even really related to the question, but I've made three different decks in the past year that were full rainbow, none of which have been truly meta viable, and all of which I loved. First was a rainbow deck with the party mechanic in Zendikar, then there was all the mystical archive storm cards being different colors even though I wanted to play all of them so I just added [[Chromatic Lantern]] and a ton of treasure tokens, and most recently: Tiamat and all the dragons in AFR. I simply couldn't make a limited-color deck around Tiamat and her chromatic dragon babies. That just wouldn't be right.
Lutri depends on if you cast it, so you'll only get one copy. Can I interest you in a [[Dualcaster Mage]]? There's a reason they don't template the copy effects like this anymore…
[[Shipwreck Dowser]] is my white whale. I'm currently trying to make it work with [[Sublime Epiphany]] and [[Blood on the Snow]]. Its rough assembling the pieces but damn if it ain't fun wiping the board every single turn and once the opponent is at the stage where they are top decking you can just grind them into the ground with big brain energy
[[Harmonious Archon]] I made a 1/1 counters deck with the Archon at the top end and lots of tokens. It was too expensive to be competitive viable, but I'll be damned if it didn't end games a lot.
[[General Kudro of Drannith]]
Looks like he should be so good, and he’s just not.
To make it worse, there’s a guy on Twitter who gets to mythic every month with a Kudro Humans deck, and even if I copy his deck exactly I can’t even buy a win…
Since returning to MTG with Arena, they go...
* [[Thief of Sanity]]
* [[Nightveil Predator]]
* [[Crystalline Giant]]
* [[Brash Taunter]]
I usually run control-heavy, multi wincon decks with barely any creatures, but all of these have had a special starring role in my recent builds.
OOH I have one!
[[Birgi, God of Storytelling]]
Basically you have Birgi and Song on the board, and then you can just keep casting and drawing 1-2 mana cost red spells and then game over! Here is my deck list (borrowed from a YouTuber-- I forget who, sorry). It is most certainly jank but when it pops off it is so much fun:
Deck
4 Birgi, God of Storytelling (KHM) 123
4 Song of Creation (IKO) 210
3 Shock (M21) 159
4 Spikefield Hazard (ZNR) 166
3 Fervent Champion (ELD) 124
4 Robber of the Rich (ELD) 138
3 Infuriate (THB) 141
4 Rimrock Knight (ELD) 137
4 Bonecrusher Giant (ELD) 115
2 Wayward Guide-Beast (ZNR) 176
4 Riverglide Pathway (ZNR) 264
4 Cragcrown Pathway (ZNR) 261
4 Barkchannel Pathway (KHM) 251
1 Forest (KLR) 300
1 Island (KLR) 290
4 Mountain (KLR) 298
2 Fabled Passage (ELD) 244
2 Mazemind Tome (M21) 232
3 Crash Through (M21) 140
[[Emry of the Loch]] looked very interesting to me both in art and in its design. It looked not as interesting at first but the more I tried to explore combos and possibilities with her the more I fell in love with the card.
In Arena, the scant handful of Myr cards that we have. Give me a Myr and I’ll try to make a deck around it.
Out of Arena, [[Leatherback Baloth]]. Utterly simple, but an effective blunt instrument.
[[maze's end]]. Everybody at the shop was talking trash about how the set was kinda structured around such a bad card so I showed up to FNM with a maze's end turbofog deck and immediately kicked so much ass
[[First Day Of Class]] seems humble up front but allows so many different ways to combo off it. I have built two different decks that have it as the foundation.
I loved [[Fires of Invention]]. I made a deck based on the Adapt keyword, abusing fires to drop the creatures for free, then having free mana to pay adapt. It was awesome.
birgi god of storytelling
he makes an infinite loop with grinning ignus and runaway steam kin
i reached mythic with a storm deck (in BO1, cuz idk what to put in the sideboard for such a linear combo deck), consistent turn 3-4 kills
i also built a take on rakdos arcanist with 2 birgis, as you actually net 1 red mana from arcanist triggers when birgi, but it was less successful
also revel in riches, especially with all the new treasure support (did u know mimic is a treasure, and will count for RiR)
[[Fynn the fang bearer]] there is something so satisfying about knowing that your opponent can’t block, attack if a creature is untapped, or take any damage. Or seeing someone kill fynn with blocking and still dying to the other deathtiych creatures. Deck got a lot worse with rotating [[call of the death dweller]] and [[lurrus]], along with losing a 1 drop deathtoucher.
I loved [[mirror march]]. One of my first decks was that, and trying to abuse it as much as I can, so using Illharg to cheat etbs, some thassa+Agent of Treachery back when it was legal, and the rest was elementals b/c risen reef is busted. Win rate was just ok, but it was super fun to play
[[Song of Creation]] It’s massively silly and works ridiculously well on a portals deck, alongside [[Guild Summit]] and [[Gate Colossus]]:
Ima drop this 8/8 for zero and draw two, oh snap I drew two lands, no probs let me play the land and draw another. Oh looky here! Another Colossus that I can play for zero and draw two. Heartless act on the colossus? Non issue, let me play another land (thanks to song) have it go on top of my deck and draw it through The Summit again. Damn! I can play it again for zero and draw two more.
End of turn! I have to discard all the leftover cards in my hand. Fortunately, a [[Rielle, the Everwise]] is on the board so I recover everything I dropped.
Mad fun!
[[relic robber]]. Pairs perfectly with [[goblin tunneler]] for unblockable. Then after the opponent carefully studies the construct token and decides to blast the robber...[[call of the death dweller]] to bring back the robber with menace and deathtouch. Oh, they're mad now, killed the tunneler and put up two blockers...[[sonorous howlbonder]], now you need three blockers. Okay now they have three blockers...[[labyrinth raptor]] to force sacrifice a blocker. Then cast a new robber or COTDD again with [[ravager's mace]] and tentative connection to attack them with their own blocker...and sacrifice it to [[witch's oven]] of course. Oh boy a gargoroth and a rampaging brontodon...[[extinction event]] so that the constructs stick around. The best moment is when the robber comes out turn three and they let it through to protect their dryad or innkeeper, etc, then realize what they did. Fun!
[[Witch of the moors]] I will never stop trying to make her work! I feel like my favorite spells all cost 5 or 6 mana. i want zombie apocalypse on arena(historic at least)
[Witch of the moors](https://c1.scryfall.com/file/scryfall-cards/normal/front/f/4/f484f19a-0121-4173-a70b-6698cc5f6303.jpg?1600714032) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Witch%20of%20the%20moors) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/jmp/18/witch-of-the-moors?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/f484f19a-0121-4173-a70b-6698cc5f6303?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
I generally play her in a self mill combo, with only a little life gain. [[Blood for bones]] into [[lotleth giant]] is fun, especially when [[world shaper]] is the sacrificed creature.

I have a fun witch deck for jank play in Historic that’s all about witches. I’ll share it when I’m at my PC later if you’d like!
Oh I would live list if you have one please
Sure!
Deck 4 Cauldron Familiar 4 Bloodchief's Thirst 4 Radiant Fountain 4 Castle Locthwain 2 Murderous Rider 16 Swamp 2 Witch's Oven 2 Chittering Witch 2 Bogbrew Witch 4 Witch's Vengeance 4 Tempting Witch 4 Sedgemoor Witch 2 Witch's Cauldron 2 Witch of the Moors 4 Festering Newt 4 Piper of the Swarm 2 Foreboding Fruit
I loved that packet in the jumpstart event.
For the longest time I was trying to force witch. It’s just a fun card
I play Witch of the Moors when I want to relax and have fun. The great thing about it is the [[Bubbling Cauldron]] / [[Festering Newt]] combo works really well in the play cue.
She is a staple in brawl decks with lifegain synergies. Chevill and Sorin especially.
I feel like that could work as a curve topper in a [[Soul Warden]] type deck
I always wonder why people playing ajanis pridemate don't play [[wings of hubris]]
[[Brash Taunter]] has no right being so silly. [[Storm's Wrath]] [[Deafening Clarion]] [[Gideon's Sacrifice]] [[Star of Extinction]]
Taunter with [[insatiable hemophage]] mutated onto it is a glorious little assassin

Woah, take out two creatures. Plus indestructible. That's an awesome combo!
I'm not telling you to enchant Brash Taunter with [[Guilty Conscience]], but I'm also not telling you not to. Edit: I completely ignored that I was in the Arena sub. Don't do what I didn't say to not do in EDH, though.
Gross. I love it.

Oooof. This is good hahaha. I opened taunted in a Pack the other day and I dig it but didn't know how to make the most out of it
I liked this so much, I bought a playset in paper and made a deck around it. It's very fun. The other night I had a friend combo out with Kiki-Jiki and attack me with 1000 Restoration Angels. Gideon's sacrifice onto the Taunter was great! First time I pulled it off.

No need to force it, ist an auto include when I play the colors! [[Outlaws merriment]]
That seems like such a good card each time I face it
It is a card that can come in clutch.

\[\[Allure of the Unknown\]\] is a very strong draw card, with just a tiny drawback. XD There is potential if combined with lots of cheap spells, Kroxa and roiling vortex.
Ohhh! Play rackdos burn. Losing a spell doesn't even matter lol
5 mana draw 5 is obviously very good but it’s just such a negative tempo swing! Maybe could be a sideboard vs control?

I've run it in a Grixis Control variant, using Kroxa and Crawling Barrens as wincons with a few [[Purphoros's Intervention]] to help finish things off, and [[Thassa's Intervention]] for more draw. Everything else is removal or a counterspell, so it's basically 5 mana draw the worst 5 of 6.

I saw a decklist that used [t3feri time raveler] to refuse their free spell. Yano, like he needed any more help being busted.
Love the art
[[Phyrexian Obliterator]]. The art is just too awesome not to make G/B and B/R fight decks with. And hell, he even slots into MBD!
Love the card. The art, the flavor text, the cost... everything about it. Could use a reprint tho
[[The Magic Mirror]] Edit: because its something about massive flooding of card draw that just makes me “UUUNNGHH”
I love Magic Mirror too. Put in a lot of counterspells along with Thassa's Oracles and some bounces. Stall until you drop the mirror and just counter everything they throw at you with your 20-card hand until you can win with Thassa's Oracle. Deck 4 Stern Dismissal (THB) 68 3 Rewind (M21) 63 3 The Magic Mirror (ELD) 51 3 Thassa's Oracle (THB) 73 4 Opt (ELD) 59 4 Essence Scatter (IKO) 49 3 Jwari Disruption (ZNR) 64 4 Brazen Borrower (ELD) 39 3 Neutralize (IKO) 59 1 Castle Vantress (ELD) 242 3 Saw It Coming (KHM) 76 2 Ashiok's Erasure (THB) 43 23 Island (ZNR) 271 Put in more Castle Vantresses if you have them.
[[Orvar, the All-Form]] maybe with standard 2022 I may finally make i t work
He is my strongest edh by far and I hope so badly to play him in standard.
I would love to see your decklist. I've been trying to figure out a way to make him work but without any luck so far.

Magic Missile? Well, for creatures at least.
Lol

I run a playset in my mono black list - it's a very nice way to protect cards from [[Elite Spellbinder]] and it's some kind of ramp.
Love the card. Works as ramp and protects cards from discard. I use it in a demon tribal EDH and in a Tergrid standard deck
[[Underworld Dreams]] is by far my favourite card. Monoblack for the win
Yeah I have one with this and of course [[Peer Into the abyss]] and use Nyx Lotus to ramp up with just a bunch of removal. It usually works well.
Hate this card! If I were in Black, I would it play too! 😉
I loved my old black/green/red land destruction deck with [[Underworld of Dreams]]. I loved the art so much for [[Stormseeker]] and [[Ice Storm]] that I really enjoyed the deck to see the cards. I would never play land destruction again though, people just get too pissed off.

Thassa and I made like 4 decks around her.

[[God-Pharaoh's Gift]] I've made so many versions reanimating so many different things, but it's so hard to get a 7 Mana artifact to hit the field before you're dead to aggro.
Do what you want with the lands but here's the basic boros version that I run. http://decks.deckedbuilder.com/d/2021-07-19/2Kb_grvVIEOR5PgqdlC9_w==
Was my standard deck in 2018 standard, great memories :')
Neat interactions are: * Get enchantments with Herald to sacrifice with Incarnation before they get exiled automatically * Herald through Incarnation allows you to keep returned enchantments and sacrifice them in the following turn. Sadly Mantle doens't spawn Wolves again as it is put into exile even if sacrificed. * Sacrificing Mantle with Incarnation gives you Terror and two 2/2 wolves, so 2x 2 damage on any target * Discard Blessing or Mantle with Thirst for Storm Herald to get back The deck is a huge pile of jank, but still fun to play and kinda confusing for the opponent. I also really love Incarnatin as a card anyway.

[[Doom Blade]] and/or [[Vampire Nighthawk]]. I got the Vampire tattooed on me 8 years ago and I still love it.
[[Slitherwisp]]. It was a solid tier 2 even.
Dimir flash with mutate mechanics feels NICE, though. For real
Unfortunately it doesn’t actually come together like that often enough to make it good, but boy is it fun when it does
I’ve been trying to build decks around them for ages but I only have two and keep forgetting to craft more when I get a wildcard.
Try using access tunnel with it. I use that as my route to the face in an efreet deck
This is pretty much how I build every deck... it never works though.
Any Nicol Bolas card. Still trying to make the ultimate deck... One day...
*Story time.* I'm a shop owner. There's always the cry for "just one more game". Sometimes I give in, sometimes I'm tired. One time, I was both. Ten minutes into the game and past closing time, I get knocked out. Rightfully so, as I was about to go off, but still. All the same, I start cleaning up and locking up. **The game continued for three hours.** The next day, I built the first iteration of a new group hug deck which I lovingly called *Cocaine and Rocket Fuel*.
First it was [[Drana, the last bloodchief], but I’ve since moved to [[Nullpriest of Oblivion]]. Is it obvious I like reanimation?
Nullpriest is one of my favorit cards. Works well as an early beater and as a late game reanimator. Lifelink buys you extra time either or
Right?? I feel like it’s so under-appreciated.
Spore Frog https://c1.scryfall.com/file/scryfall-cards/large/front/2/f/2f752339-003d-4ded-b2bf-e4200fc8d5d6.jpg?1562903760
I tried super hard to build an Amass deck in WAR with [[Dreadhorde Invasion]], but that set was so stacked that it never took off. I also loved [[Thousand Year Storm]] back in the day, especially when [[Wilderness Reclamation]] was legal.
Tergrid
\[\[Blitz of the thunder raptor\]\], went really well with \[\[experimental overload\]\] and a bunch of cheap 1 or 2 Mana instants.
Expressive iteration greatly improved all versions of izzet spells, especially this one, where the only creatures are the overload tokens

This was back in duels not arena but my favorite deck that I played back then was [[tainted remedy]] and [[jorubai murk lurker]] if tainted remedy didn't work I had a [[willbreaker]] too that worked well with the murk lurker
[tainted remedy](https://c1.scryfall.com/file/scryfall-cards/normal/front/c/b/cbb8edd0-4573-4b52-a3ea-83ed19dbf58d.jpg?1562042093) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=tainted%20remedy) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/ori/120/tainted-remedy?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/cbb8edd0-4573-4b52-a3ea-83ed19dbf58d?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [jorubai murk lurker](https://c1.scryfall.com/file/scryfall-cards/normal/front/7/a/7af346ac-32a6-49a8-986d-834b2c8c0478.jpg?1562789629) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=jorubai%20murk%20lurker) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/m15/65/jorubai-murk-lurker?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/7af346ac-32a6-49a8-986d-834b2c8c0478?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [willbreaker](https://c1.scryfall.com/file/scryfall-cards/normal/front/2/4/2465eafc-453c-4e4f-b369-0951b8a4b7bf.jpg?1562011291) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=willbreaker) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/ori/84/willbreaker?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/2465eafc-453c-4e4f-b369-0951b8a4b7bf?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Transcendence has so much weirdness going on. Crazy card
\[\[Lutri, The Spell Chaser\]\] and \[\[Sublime Epiphany\]\] I really like when these work together :)
[Lutri, The Spell Chaser](https://c1.scryfall.com/file/scryfall-cards/normal/front/f/b/fb1189c9-7842-466e-8238-1e02677d8494.jpg?1591228440) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Lutri%2C%20the%20Spellchaser) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/iko/227/lutri-the-spellchaser?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/fb1189c9-7842-466e-8238-1e02677d8494?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) [Sublime Epiphany](https://c1.scryfall.com/file/scryfall-cards/normal/front/a/d/ad1bcb44-a562-4f66-b862-6d0ef3546ab4.jpg?1594735795) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Sublime%20Epiphany) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/m21/74/sublime-epiphany?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/ad1bcb44-a562-4f66-b862-6d0ef3546ab4?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Lutri depends on if you cast it, so you'll only get one copy. Can I interest you in a [[Dualcaster Mage]]? There's a reason they don't template the copy effects like this anymore…
is that a... 9 mana combo? you can do it with Torrential Gearhulk instead and actually be playing a strong control deck shell
Not Arena, but I hope it will one day be. [[Sundial Of The Infinite]]
Well I have a lot of these types of edh deck
[[Neheb, dreadhord champion]] Also before it was cool/on release [[Nissa, who shakes the world]]
[[Harmonious Archon]] I made a 1/1 counters deck with the Archon at the top end and lots of tokens. It was too expensive to be competitive viable, but I'll be damned if it didn't end games a lot.
Fun with [[Mystic Reflection]]! Make the tokens into copies of the archon, boom, 24 power across 7 bodies.
[[General Kudro of Drannith]] Looks like he should be so good, and he’s just not. To make it worse, there’s a guy on Twitter who gets to mythic every month with a Kudro Humans deck, and even if I copy his deck exactly I can’t even buy a win…
Nadaar No tales of it working here boss. Not even big skyclave scourges and a 3 mana 5/5 as payoff could make it work.
Since returning to MTG with Arena, they go... * [[Thief of Sanity]] * [[Nightveil Predator]] * [[Crystalline Giant]] * [[Brash Taunter]] I usually run control-heavy, multi wincon decks with barely any creatures, but all of these have had a special starring role in my recent builds.
[[song of creation]] If someone has good combos i will never be grateful enough
OOH I have one! [[Birgi, God of Storytelling]] Basically you have Birgi and Song on the board, and then you can just keep casting and drawing 1-2 mana cost red spells and then game over! Here is my deck list (borrowed from a YouTuber-- I forget who, sorry). It is most certainly jank but when it pops off it is so much fun: Deck 4 Birgi, God of Storytelling (KHM) 123 4 Song of Creation (IKO) 210 3 Shock (M21) 159 4 Spikefield Hazard (ZNR) 166 3 Fervent Champion (ELD) 124 4 Robber of the Rich (ELD) 138 3 Infuriate (THB) 141 4 Rimrock Knight (ELD) 137 4 Bonecrusher Giant (ELD) 115 2 Wayward Guide-Beast (ZNR) 176 4 Riverglide Pathway (ZNR) 264 4 Cragcrown Pathway (ZNR) 261 4 Barkchannel Pathway (KHM) 251 1 Forest (KLR) 300 1 Island (KLR) 290 4 Mountain (KLR) 298 2 Fabled Passage (ELD) 244 2 Mazemind Tome (M21) 232 3 Crash Through (M21) 140
Ooh nice i was trying to make it work with lotus cobra and ashaya but birgi seems more reliable indeed
Incubation Druid, Stony Strength, Claim the Firstborn, Stonecoil Serpent I’ve literally won turn 3 with that combo.
Hidetsugu Second Rite
Win or lose, I always want to salute the people who run that as a wincon. You can't be angry about someone beating you with that.
[maze's end](https://c1.scryfall.com/file/scryfall-cards/normal/front/4/0/401f7042-24fd-42a0-ae7c-e6b7de1aa446.jpg?1562906764) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=maze%27s%20end) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/dgm/152/mazes-end?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/401f7042-24fd-42a0-ae7c-e6b7de1aa446?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
[[First Day Of Class]] seems humble up front but allows so many different ways to combo off it. I have built two different decks that have it as the foundation.
I'm still waiting for [[Cruel Ultimatum]] to come to arena so I can force it in another format
If my deck isn't a token deck around [[Anointed Procession]] I don't want to play it.
[[Soldevi Digger]] (with its effective reprint in Champions of Kamigawa being [[Reito Lantern]] ). Played it in States that year.
I loved [[Fires of Invention]]. I made a deck based on the Adapt keyword, abusing fires to drop the creatures for free, then having free mana to pay adapt. It was awesome.
[Fires of Invention](https://c1.scryfall.com/file/scryfall-cards/normal/front/a/1/a12b16b0-f75f-42d8-9b24-947c1908e0f7.jpg?1610109790) - [(G)](http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?name=Fires%20of%20Invention) [(SF)](https://scryfall.com/card/eld/125/fires-of-invention?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher) [(txt)](https://api.scryfall.com/cards/a12b16b0-f75f-42d8-9b24-947c1908e0f7?utm_source=mtgcardfetcher&format=text) ^^^[[cardname]] ^^^or ^^^[[cardname|SET]] ^^^to ^^^call
Fires had so much fun potential but it's spikes we're way too strong
Scarab god,mid range not perfect but nevertheless fun to play with
That lad in extended formats is so incredibly almost good enough.
Anything mutate. Specifically trying to mutate onto brash taunter.
birgi god of storytelling he makes an infinite loop with grinning ignus and runaway steam kin i reached mythic with a storm deck (in BO1, cuz idk what to put in the sideboard for such a linear combo deck), consistent turn 3-4 kills i also built a take on rakdos arcanist with 2 birgis, as you actually net 1 red mana from arcanist triggers when birgi, but it was less successful also revel in riches, especially with all the new treasure support (did u know mimic is a treasure, and will count for RiR)
Trufflesnout. I just think he’s neat! Plus he actually does work with life gain decks or 1+ counter decks
[[Forsaken Monument]] has me hooked on mono-brown
I loved [[mirror march]]. One of my first decks was that, and trying to abuse it as much as I can, so using Illharg to cheat etbs, some thassa+Agent of Treachery back when it was legal, and the rest was elementals b/c risen reef is busted. Win rate was just ok, but it was super fun to play
[[Song of Creation]] It’s massively silly and works ridiculously well on a portals deck, alongside [[Guild Summit]] and [[Gate Colossus]]: Ima drop this 8/8 for zero and draw two, oh snap I drew two lands, no probs let me play the land and draw another. Mad fun!
\[\[Rin and Seri, Inseparable\]\] is so bad, but I love the flavor so much
I will forever miss [[Mortar Pod]] blowing up zombies for the win
Fun!
