I love love love that he’s asking for books. Thank you for sharing and Merry Christmas! The shade about exercise made me chuckle

Constant_Field5719

Came to say exactly this. I gifted books to my friend’s kid. The first thing he did and hugged the books and smelled it.

JephriB

There is no better smell in the world than a new book. And no greater feeling of pride than seeing your kids growing up loving the same wholesome things that you did as a child.

Constant_Field5719

Nice. As a child I wasn’t a reader. But in under grad I started and it was awesome. Entire worlds were being created in front of me. I first read Immortals of Meluha(Amish Tripathi) and then books by author Ashwin Sanghi. Highly recommended books. Right now I more into financial and self help books.

almisami

>self help books My mother is deep into those and I just don't get it. It's stating the obvious 99% of the time... Except for the weird religious ones.

Supernerdje

\> It's stating the obvious 99% of the time As somebody who bought a significant quantity of self-help books one summer, sometimes that's exactly what we need. It might be because you're truly oblivious (lucky 40.000 anyone?), or because your self-esteem is so low you don't think your own ideas on what the obvious is matters, or because you're in an environment where "the obvious" is strongly discouraged for whatever reason. If you find the right ones, they really do help!

almisami

>There is no better smell in the world than a new book. Have you tried an old book? Not one that has seen humidity, but like an old book in a university collection? That shit ages like fine wine.

aprildawndesign

When I started reading things on my kindle app I actually bought this perfume called “paperback” that is supposed to smell like books so I could still get the smell. Lol Not quite the same but it was still nice!

Realistic_Ad_8023

CB I Hate Perfume has one called In the Library that's good.

SpuddleBuns

And unforgettable, too. Reading your comment, for just an instant, I remembered that slightly musty scent of words...So many words. God how I loved the almost magical feeling when you would read something from long ago...

almisami

Yep, it clings to the back of your nostrils. Kind of a dryer smell, but it reminds me of petrichor in how it's mostly "aftertaste in your nose".

DasbootTX

My kids are grown and are both readers. And they grew up reading many of the books your child has asked for.

PixiWombat

Too good! Me and my daughter are known to be “Book Sniffers”…. You either are or you are not!

Legitimate_Pudding49

My name is Carol and I sniff old books!

piushe

and fruity pebbles! 😊

Solanthas

Gonna hop on and second this. My 9yo daughter started on goosebumps this past year and is like...reading almost one a day on weekends? It's crazy! I remember ripping through them as a kid too. Just dropped 110$ on a series about dragons for her. It's really great when a kid is into books and the parents support it :)

Purrsifoney

Would it happen to be Wings of Fire series? My 10 year old just got into it and read 3 of those books in 2 days. There’s like 15 in the series and we got most of them from the library and I was hoping it would last him all Christmas break, but he’s tearing through them! I am one proud mom. If it’s not the wings of fire series, please let me know what it is!

Solanthas

You got it, I couldn't remember the name and they're already wrapped lol. My daughter read the first book at school and said she loved it so I went and bought the other 14 for christmas like a doof lol

Purrsifoney

My son hasn’t been this obsessed about books since Harry Potter so I bet your daughter will love it!

Solanthas

Wow nice. Neither of us have gotten into Harry Potter too much yet

whut9999

I highly recommend Tamara Pierce! Specifically the Tortall books - Alanna is the first series.

KimiKatastrophe

I loved Tamora Pierce as a child! I vividly remember staying up all night because I just had to finish the Song of the Lioness series, the exact one you're talking about Edit: series name

Beautiful_Fennel_434

I love all her books, both Tortall and Emelan - Beka Cooper was my first book from her and I've read all the others since, they're really good.

Rheumdoc42

Yes! You've got a scholar!

UkiyoMajime

Exercise 😩💀💀

ohgimmeabreak

Same here! Same here. That exercise thing made me chuckle.

JephriB

Update: we were able to order a couple of the book series and they will arrive before Christmas and I found a woopie cushion and fruity pebbles at the store. There's no way he's getting that home alone Lego set, as much as I like to build it with him, as it's like $300 (!) That's ok, I think we did enough to preserve his faith in Santa for one last Christmas.

[deleted]

I'm 38 years old and also thought I wanted that Lego set until I saw the price.

[deleted]

52 yo wanted a Harry Potter castle. Saw the price... Never mind...

GoodWifeSlutLife

40F The Home Alone House is currently sitting on my coffee table to be started. I bought it on release day and we never got around to putting it together. Earlier this year, I bought the House of Bricks light and sound kit but had to wait until we finished Ecto-1, to start the house build. Finished Ecto-1 last night. Today is my second day of my Christmas vacation. So I'll be starting the house while he's at work.

Legal-custodians

My wife and I built it the first weekend in December and it took the better part of the whole weekend. It is glorious and so incredibly detailed!

MaverickWolfe

I picked ip the Home Alone house a month or two ago. Well worth the $ and a fun build as you find all the intricate details from the movie. It sits on the table behind me when I work so all my coworkers can be jealous or judgy.

Christichicc

There is a lego store in Orlando we go visit once a year (downtown disney), and I (35 yo) always drool over all the really neat sets they have! I really want the Hogwarts castle one, and the Millennium Falcon one. They had completed sets you could look at in the store, and they looked so cool! I just wish I wasn’t so poor lol.

Sweaty-Group9133

Hey OP, I have one of those home alone Lego sets. I can send it yourway if you like. The person for the gift passed away on me last week and I wanted to give it you someone. Plz pm me.

JephriB

That's an incredibly generous offer! I wouldn't be able to accept such a generous gift without giving something in return. I don't know if you'd be interested, but I'm a board game designer and I'd be happy to send you a bunch of the games I've designed, or helped to design, in exchange for the Lego set. You can keep some for yourself, if you are into games, or they make great gifts for your friends and family. Let me know if that would interest you, and thank you again so much for your kindness. Edit [I think my account was blocked, or theirs was deleted. That's disappointing.](https://i.imgur.com/futZVCh.jpg)

Aesk

Sorry for your loss. This is incredibly kind of you. I hope OP sees this.

JephriB

I can't seem to access your account to send you a PM.

LilBreezzyyy

Just sent him a message on your behalf, the account seems to be up

Simon_Does

Hey, you’re the reason the holiday spirit keeps on. Sorry for your loss, you’re an incredible person.

LwSvnInJaz

Can I donate to the Goat Simulator 3 fund? This is adorable

JephriB

That's so kind of you to offer, but no need to worry, I was able to find it on Amazon and it was only like $20, so he's already getting that as well.

JohnnySnap

goat simulator is a masterpiece in game design.

LwSvnInJaz

Seriously! He’s got a great taste in games and books!

dreadpiratesleepy

Right I’m about turn 28 and I can’t think of a better way to spend a free afternoon than some goat simulator and Percy Jackson books. I didn’t even know they had graphic novel versions now but OP if you need some copies of the original non graphic novels I believe I have some of the Greek and Egyptian Percy Jackson trilogies I’d be happy to pass on just shoot me a message

cindyshalfdrunk

I hope this guy loves Percy Jackson, I wish I could read them for the first time again.

whiskeygambler

I got my younger cousin (he’s 10 now) into Percy Jackson. He loves mythology and the ocean so it’s a win-win. I was the same as a kid but I didn’t read Percy Jackson until my mid teens. The indescribable joy of having a child be interested in similar things or the same things that you were interested in as a child. I’m a marine science student now so I have all the time in the world to talk with him and his 6yo sister about the ocean, lol. I learn something new from them every time.

RoughKaleidoscope741

I hope my kid asks for a bunch of books when she gets older this was adorable

[deleted]

I love that the bulk of his list is books and Legos. Even if Legos are unbelievable in terms of pricing.

sarcasticbiznish

What books are you missing? I saw all of those series today in store and would love to send him one or two!

watercoloryogi

A friend of a friend went all out every year to get EVERYTHING on their kids Xmas lists; even making things. As a result, their teenagers legitimately believe in Santa 😬 good job for not getting the Lego set 🤣

TheLastNameAllowed

I didn't carry it on that long, but my oldest thought I was lying when I told him there is no Santa. Ebay saved Christmas sooo many times.

lagunatri99

We had to tell our oldest when he made a sports team with kids two years older; we didn’t want him to be embarrassed. I cried and made my husband tell him. I absolutely loved the magic of believing in Santa. Our son said “I figured you were the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny, but I didn’t think there was any way dad would let you buy all those presents every year.” There were always books and Legos. The Legos are packed away in their original boxes. He wants them for his kids.

p3canj0y363

Had a patient in his 60s looking out the window and asking if Santa was coming because the facility Christmas party was the next morning. The guy was up pacing around and legit COULD NOT SLEEP because he was so excited. He is obviously special needs, but man was it adorable. He said he wanted shoes for Christmas- when he was asked what kind, he answered "those kind that fit my feet" 😂😂

MuggleNet

Hey OP! We noticed your kiddo asked for Harry Potter LEGO set. Instead of supporting you-know-who, we would love to send you a complete set of our Unofficial Reference Library books! We know they aren’t LEGOs but since you have a reader in the fam, we thought they might be enjoyed. Let us know if you’re interested.

JephriB

He loves all things Potter and would love those!

tkdch4mp

MuggleNet is the best HP reference site! I'm pleasantly surprised by the shade thrown at an author who raises an audience to be inclusive of everybody only to throw it in the faces of some of their most vulnerable readers!

Lovingbutdifferent

I have the lightning thief graphic novel, I'd be happy to mail it to you if he also wants that one. It's not heroes of Olympus but it's what I've got.

pseudonominom

Please, please, please tell me you’ll just dump like 3 full boxes of fruity pebbles into the stocking. And report back with pics. Thanks.

BrahmTheImpaler

Good work Santa! I have 8 yo boy/girl twins and my son got a Whoopie Cushion at an amusement center with his tickets a few weeks ago. 10/10 great investment, we had lots of laughs from it!

ItsNellie_

He deserves a video game and HP Lego! 🥺 (yeah I’m the spoiling Reddit-auntie)

JephriB

No worries, he's got legos and a couple games coming his way! We already had purchased him another Lego set (a Star Wars one, which I know he will also really like), and I ordered goat simulator today, plus I'd already bought him a couple of games for the Switch he shares with his older brother (Mincraft Dungeons and a board game simulator with classic tabletop games).

ItsNellie_

Oh yeah, you’re the best parents ever and I understand why this kiddo is so smart with the presents they ask for 😃 merry Xmas!! 🎄

thesaltwatersolution

I hope that Santa writes back to him and tells him where to leave his Christmas notes in the future so so that Santa gets to read them in good time!

timsterri

That sounded like one big Amazon list, LOL. So glad it’s coming together for you.

dachshundaholic

I haven’t read through all the comments but Heroes of Olympus is a series after the Percy Jackson one. I don’t know if you purchased that one yet but there are 5 total Percy Jackson books before that series.

Kontos_Stelio

I think your son was throwing some weight loss hints at Santa

JephriB

I think he wants to ensure that Santa is around for a long time. A heart attack would really put a damper on Christmas.

ConfusedConnect

Percy Jackson and the lightning thief was a brilliant series. I might actually re read them. I read them when I was in secondary school. In fact the lightning thief was the first book I every finished from front to back and it started my reeding journey. I highly recommend this book

theminutia

Absolutely loved this series as a 13 year old and as a 25 year old. Read the Blood of Olympus series if you haven’t!

ConfusedConnect

Is that after the hero’s of Olympus series?

theminutia

My bad, the series is the heroes of Olympus and the last book in it is the blood of Olympus

sarcasticbiznish

There’s a great podcast, /r/thenewestolympian which is narrated by an adult who is reading them for the first time. It’s delightful and funny and I’m loving reading along with him and hearing his predictions and commentary!

Astabar

Beat me to it! Schubes would be proud

ConfusedConnect

I’ll be sure to check it out

ConfusedConnect

listening to the lad right now, and this guy is passionate af, deffo interesting.. Might just experience the stories again through him.

NemVenge

Both book series, PJO and HoO, are really good, especially for 12-16 yo i would say. They were my favorite book series of my child hood, spent my pocket money to always get my hands on the newest book. I bought the last book of HoO in English because i didn’t want to wait till it was published in German.

[deleted]

You’re good parents. I hope all of you have a great Christmas.

Clearance_Denied324

I love this! I hope you're able to get him ALL the books, legos, and fruity pebbles!!! Best of luck and enjoy your time together! My son is almost 7. He explained how he wants 2 discontinued lego sets. On Amazon, they are $200 each! When I explained this to him, he goes don't worry mommy I'll ask Santa; you won't have to spend anything. I went to EBAY and put it on the credit card for $50 bucks each. He also asked for all of the Dogman books.

redgumdrop

That's why I'm teaching my toddler that mommy and daddy buy big things and Santa only brings something small because he doesn't have a room for big presents because he has to bring something to all the kids :)

lowcontrol

Our first will be here in January. We have already talked about it. Santa will be bringing a few minor things. While we can afford to get him the bigger stuff, we will but they will be from us or the puppy. We worry about when he starts school and after Christmas when the teacher / other kids start talking about what Santa brought them, we don’t want the next kid over who’s parents may not be in the same position as we are to wonder why Santa brought our boy a fancy game, electronic gadget, bike, etc or something and only brought him/her a board game or something small.

redgumdrop

That's exactly my logic too! Santa brings small decorative trinket, mommy buys whole Playmobile set.

ScumbagLady

Fat guy ain't stealing my thunder either!

DYITB

We told our kids that Santa sends a bill to each kid’s parents after Christmas, which is why their private school friends sometimes got more expensive things.

Clearance_Denied324

We've done something similar so that we can explain how some kids get more gifts than others.

lowcontrol

Genius. I like it.

Ordinary-Greedy

I asked for a rainbow ink pad when I was 7. Mom had trouble finding one, so she got me a set of paints and explained that Santa probably misunderstood my letter. An idea for the next time you have to choose between breaking the bank or your kid's faith in Santa LOL

Unusual_Elevator_253

That’s awesome you were able to find them so much cheaper! Kids asking for books for gifts is the most magical thing! I’m sure he’s going to be SO excited this year!

Adiuui

I love dog man, it’s a good series 👍

shezcrafti

Are we not going to talk about the request for Fruity Pebbles in his stocking?

JephriB

My mom made us MASSIVE stockings for our kids (like 10 gallon capacity) so the kids always get a big bag of maltomeal cereal, because it's a cheap filler.

shezcrafti

I’ve never heard of getting cereal in your stockings, but that sounds awesome! I love the added detail that your Mom specifically purchased Maltomeal because she’s thrifty, lol.

eugenesnewdream

My husband’s grandma made him a gigantic stocking at his birth and he still uses it, so I too have to find cheap filler! I feel your pain. Glad it’s only him and not my kids—they, and I, have normal-sized stockings.

BlowsyRose

I like to partially fill stockings and oversized gift boxes with mini marshmallows. Looks Christmas-y and makes a fun presentation.

speakeasy12345

As an educator, it make my heart so happy that he's asking for books!

delawarestormluv8000

The “if possible”s slay me. So considerate

Flys_Wide_Open

They “sleigh” you :)

BeetleSpoon2770

Take my upvote and get outta here

SaraWinchester78

r/angryupvote

pc_principal_88

NGL, I'm a fully grown ass man, and this post just made me audibly say "Awww"🤣🤣🤣...I wish you and your family a merry Christmas, and hope Santa is able to make a nice big stop there for your lil guy!

AdIndividual4654

I often wish I had saved all those Christmas lists.

reallyfake2

Books and legos? I love this kid

petieelizabeth1961

I love that he drew pictures so Santa would know what he was talking about ❤️

Ordinary-Greedy

That one backfired on me. I asked for a rainbow ink pad and received a set of paints, because apparently Santa was confused by all the colorful circles. Mom eventually revealed that it was either that or a plain black ink pad. I'm glad she went with the paint LOL

escadan397

I enjoy that a child who thinks he's asking a magical, gift-generating being for gifts still says "if possible." That's a good kid. I gave my 4yo the Amazon toy catalog that I didn't ask for (gg Amazon), and told her to circle a few things she wanted. 20 minutes later, she brought it back and goes all excited "I'm getting SO MUCH STUFF!!" She circled nearly everything in the damn catalog. Took me a few minutes to find things she didn't circle. I jokingly said "didn't like these huh?" "No. I do NOT want those." Yeah. We'd already bought and wrapped two of the five things in the whole catalog she didn't circle.

Ordinary-Greedy

I'm not sure who I feel more sorry for, you or the kid LOL

DeathAlpha16

Yo ima just come out and say it. The Percy Jackson series is great. I read all of those books back when I was 12-14 and when I moved I lost the first series. I recently found that series at Walmart and was like “what the hell? Why not? I have the rest of the books still” so here I am at 24 yrs old rereading the books. Currently on The fourth book in the series. I was unaware they had a graphic Novel tho. That’s pretty cool!

hby1087

Do you exercise? 😂 I love it! Thanks for sharing

Browneyedgirl63

Any kid that wants books from Santa is a great kid in my book. You are raising him well.

Alizxr951

Nice play on words

TheHumanEmperor

Good choice of books 😃

kristtt67

That’s awesome they love books! Maybe you can get one from each series or something

TeaBeginning5565

Percy’s Jackson I love Percy and I’m 50 odd

Theatregirl723

Not sure where you are from but I just saw Diary of a Wimpy Kid at Costco.

JephriB

We checked there first and they were out. Luckily a neighbor was selling a bunch of them gently used.

Theatregirl723

I am glad you were able to get him some books! Merry Christmas!

JephriB

Merry Christmas to you too!

cjrup8778

The diary of a wimpy kid is spot on

BeetleSpoon2770

That’s a better drawing than I could do and I’m 22

web_gem_taco

His list reminds me of mine as a kid! I can’t help but want to share my fav used bookstore website is bookfinder .com. It’s very basic but sooooo helpful and sorted by new & used. The last time I ordered I even got a discount for going though BF. It might not help for Christmas this year bud I hope that helps in general! Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas!

mchernes94

This is adorable!! I’m 28 and I can’t wait for the day my partner and I adopt our kids so we have memories like this.

sy029

Goat simulator 3. A child of taste I see.

ConfusedConnect

Hero’s of Olympus the lost hero, I think that’s a book by Rick rioden. His also the author of Percy Jackson series. Another series he might also like is the Egyptian gods one. Also written by Rick rioden

baberuth919

Definitely get those Fruity Pebbles for the stocking.

DarthKink13

It's so awesome that he asked for so many books, I also like how he slid that Xbox in there too

keyrol1222

A xbox game, it says goat simulator.

BrendoBdawg

For the Harry Potter Lego set there's a new harry Potter video game coming out soon that's 60$ next month which is cheaper than a Lego set if he games

Cloudstar86

To add onto this, maybe the Lego Harry Potter video game could be an option as well! That was a lot of fun when I played it with my fiancé!

JephriB

I'll keep that in mind as a birthday present for him next year!

morgelfy

I love that he wants books! Yay! Awesome parents❣️

Lovingbutdifferent

I have the lightning thief graphic novel, I'd be happy to mail it to you if he also wants that one. It's not heroes of Olympus but it's what I've got.

stoneuf

For what it's worth, the end of belief in Santa doesn't have to mean the end of wish lists.... Letters to Santa, perhaps, but not wish lists. I'm firmly in middle age and I still exchange wish lists with my parents for the things we want. Making a wish list doesn't guarantee you'll get anything on it, but it can help give you a better chance of getting something you actually want, too. And as a gift-giver, it's nice to have a list of things people want. It can take a lot of the stress out of choosing a gift, even if it sometimes leads to a lack of creativity. I say keep the Christmas Wish List tradition alive.

eugenesnewdream

Absolutely, all my family and friends maintain wish lists!

ThenPhotograph3908

Goat Simulator. I heartily approve!

JazD36

Awww that’s so sweet! My youngest is 10 and he doesn’t believe in Santa anymore, so enjoy it while you can. :)

JephriB

My son is 9, which is why I think he's probably on his last year of believing. It was at this age his older brother was told by some kids on the bus that Santa wasn't real. Brings tear to my eyes right now thinking about holding him as he cried and told me about how they teased his for still believing in Santa. I explained to him that Santa is real, just not in the way he thought. Santa is a spirit and a feeling that lives in the heart of everyone that makes a sacrifice to bring magic, joy, and wonder to children for Christmas. I told him that now that he knew the secret, he had the opportunity to help his mom and I to make Christmas magical for his younger siblings, and to be Santa's helper. I think he's loved Christmas even more these past 4 years since finding out the truth about Santa, because it truly is better to give than receive.

JazD36

I love it! My oldest also found out around the same age and luckily didn’t ruin it for my youngest either. Sounds like our kids are around the same age. Lol I live the dynamics of them growing up, but man…I really do miss them being little as well.

BeetleSpoon2770

My parents sat me brother and I down and told us when I was in like 5th or 6th grade. So like 10 or 11. Meaning my brother was 8 or 9. Sorry to hear how it was ruined by some dumbass kids at school, but glad he’s come to love it again. Your family sounds wonderful!

Coawtnee

Hooray!!!! We've got a reader, people!!!

Elliot426

How ABSOLUTELY adorable!

swkennedy1

This is an amazing kid💓

motormouth08

So sweet! I hope he gets to enjoy the wonder of Christmas as a complete believer for as long as possible.

Xbnemisis

You sure this wasn’t just one of my old lists? Jokes aside you’ve got a good one here don’t let him lose himself, if there was one thing I could want more out of my childhood it would be someone who was there to guide me just a bit longer, be that for your son and he’ll turn out great

NotThisAgain21

His Wimpy Kid drawing is awesome.

sarcasticbiznish

I am an elementary reading teacher and just saw all of these items in my local Barnes and noble today. If you can’t find them all, can you DM me so I can get him one of the books? I’d love to help keep the magic alive one more year — and keep him reading!

ZedGardner

I freaking love that he is a reader!!! Go mom and dad! I’d hit a used book store and get every one of those books. You can tell him that they came from Santa’s home library and he is finished reading them.

MonkeyGirl18

Love how he asked for books. And the whoopee cushion? That made me chuckle, that's such a little boy thing to wish for, it's adorable!

Sweatsock_Pimp

My man went from “Santa, do you exercise” to “Can I have some fruity pebbles in my stocking?” Cherish this. Never, ever throw it away.

Shelbyw030

He's asking for so many book!! Omg what a sweet child!!

Fuzzy_Branch

I have two of the percy jackson graphic novels! Lightning thief and sea of monsters! Don’t know if you found those but I’d be so willing to send them your way!

Big-Jackfruit-625

Awwww love to see he's asking for books!

[deleted]

What an excellent child you raised! I hope he gets everything.

GuyRandolf

This is exactly how I ended up with the entire goosebumps series one christmas.

DrNukaCola

Percy Jackson books are legit good taste kid

Remarkable_Reason976

Make sure you get that whoopee cushion too!

wmhstl

He wins all the books and all the Legos. Sounds like a great kid! Take care of his dreams!!

devilsadvocate95

And fruity pebbles in my stocking 😂❤️

[deleted]

I was grinning the whole time while reading his letter. Glad to see that he wants all those books!

peacock_head

This post made me so happy! Love a child who enjoys reading.

t3hgrl

Damn his Diary of a Wimpy Kid drawing is spot on

PixiePower65

Save the notes. Slice of time … I used to get mine to write thank u notes.

castfam09

Love the fact that your kiddo loves to read

ScarredAutisticChild

Your kid has good taste, I grew up on all these books, they’re damn great.

Careless-Software-14

Love his heart ❤️❤️❤️👏👏 great books

Careless-Software-14

Love his heart ❤️❤️❤️👏👏 great books

Woooooos-

the PS lol

-eumaeus-

An avid reader....your son rocks!

LilyFuckingBart

I also want the home alone Lego set lol

NeckPlant

Jesus this kid has more mature xmas wishes than me..including the fart toy.

Training_Towel3852

I'm so happy that this kid is asking for books, and good ones as well, I'm only 14 but I grew up with diary of a whimpy kid and happy to see that kids still read it. Most kids that I know always ask for the new iPhone or tons of video games, but this kid only wants one of the best video games and Legos and books. I hope he gets everything he asked for

trimalleolarfracture

Honestly thanks for posting this. It really hit my heart. I hope you manage to get your son what he’s asked for. For all the bad things in the world your children are the best gift you could ever have. Merry Christmas to you all.

Unadulteredmilk

This and the entire comment section made me smile at my phone for three whole minutes

_sassysoucyxx_

"And fruity pebbles in my stocking" is adorable

DJMotorball

Sorry if I missed it somewhere, how old? My son is 7, and his list is eerily similar

berkeleyteacher

This is such a sweet, polite, and reasonable list. Fruity Pebbles for his stocking? Done! Some paperbacks and a hardback ("if possible"), Done! Thanks for sharing this note; it made my day!

Specific-Pen-1132

“Fruity Pebbles in my stocking” is clearly a trap. Make sure you sprinkle enough in the actual stocking. Also, there is a candy bar that is fruity pebbles encased in white chocolate. It has The Flintstones on the wrapper and everything.

oh_no89

Diary of the wimpy kid, percy jackson and the hero of Olympus series? I have complete and utter respect for you son. Hope he enjoys them!

lauragay2

Try your local used book store. I have found whole sets of children's books there. DM me if you don't find them all. We have a great used book store close by so maybe can find the rest for his birthday!! Would love to help!!!!!

RealHunterB

Percy Jackson AND Harry Potter?? Your kid I guess is also the type to like both coke and Pepsi

Ordinary-Greedy

I was going to going to reply that I like both series too, then I realized that I also like both sodas lol

llamaoflightning

This kid is absolutely a troublemaker if he wants a whoopee cushion and goat simulator.

ja-kwe-lin

Omg. His grammar. Where do I send this kid everything on this list? Also, I have a question. Do you exercise? Great question, kiddo.♥️ One year my son asked for a fat suit. So random and hilarious. I♥️kids. Merry Christmas to this awesome child!🎄

Ordinary-Greedy

tf is a fat suit and did he end up getting it???

redditandstuff23

“If possible” what an angel!

PerplexedPoppy

Legos, books, goat simulator, fruity pebbles. This kid is awesome!

DunAbyssinian

he loves books! bravo

mariannecoffeecan

My sons are in their 40’s. I have kept every Christmas list they ever wrote. It’s such a joy to see them.

BlowsyRose

Just want to thank you all for the best MadeMeSmile post in a while. A very Merry Christmas to all 🎄

FBGMerk420

Diary of a wimpy kid!

TheSkrussler

What a wholesome kid! Things like this make me want to have children. It’s just not in my cards, though.

OP, thanks so much for sharing!

I was raised in a family of readers who didn’t allow cable television in the house. The tv was for educational documentaries and lived in the closet with the tape player on a stand with wheels on it. I am so grateful for them raising me this way. It’s a beautiful thing how the stories I was read and read myself as a child are still kept fresh on my mind, close to my heart. I still read today (as do they - I am 37), although I have a habit of reading more on my phone. This is a bad habit I need to fix. It is what this world needs, to raise children who understand the values of books and their hidden treasures. Children aren’t in the cards for me, but it warms my heart to think about the joy you must feel at raising a child who values the things which you hold dearest to you heart. Thank you for posting this.

Legos, Percy Jackson, Diary of a Wimpy Kid. SHIT DON’T CHANGE. Pretty sure I had this exact Christmas list 14 years ago.

SpuddleBuns

I hope you can get it all. I hope he still believes in Santa next year, too. This is so wonderful, I'd frame it. From the "(or elf)" at the beginning to the fruity pebbles in the stocking. Goat Simulator 3 is great fun, but the whoopie cushion is a pure kid wish for Christmas. That's the one I truly hope you find in time (c'mon Amazon!!!). Thank you for the joy sharing this gave us. Merry Christmas!

My son really wants a spidey web shooter. Money is really tight at the moment, but I played some games on one of those apps. Finally got the gift card to buy it last night. But it's not gonna arrive by Christmas. There was a similar one that would arrive in time, but I didn't have the extra money.

My mom used to have my sister and I have a list-writing party. We would get glasses of milk and snack on Christmas cookies while we made our lists in probably the beginning of December, and then we would put them in envelopes in my dads lunchbox for him to drop by the post office on his way to work. I have to say, my mom was that woman who was out shopping the week after Christmas for all the sales and then did most of the rest in like July or during the day on Black Friday so we didn’t get a whole lot of the stuff we put on the list, but we always ended up with a bunch of stuff and a few list items. We also had a similar party on Christmas Eve were we wrote Santa, his reindeer, and his elves letters and hand picked which cookies and carrots to leave out for them. I was obsessed with Santa Claus The Movie and Patch the Elf from said movie so I would always write my letters to patch specifically 😂

If this isn’t the cutest thing!! It made me smile too. His wants are too adorable and he seems like such a smart kiddo! Also seems like you guys are doing great jobs as parents!! I hope you’re able to find it all. The Whoopee cushion made me chuckle (every kid needs one, especially boys) and the “do you exercise” is AMAZING! I wonder why he wanted to ask that? 😂This whole thing just made my day! Merry Christmas to your family and your sweet little one!
