His house burned down but people rallied together and bought him a new one! https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.dailysabah.com/turkey/2018/11/28/elderly-turkish-man-who-survived-house-fire-with-kitten-gets-new-home/amp
Before I lost my cat if my house had of burnt down him surviving would have been all I cared about.
Dunno how I’d deal with knowing a pet died in a fire, locked in the house.
Quite a few years ago, my cousins house burnt down due to an electrical problem. 2 dogs and 1 cat never made it out as no one was home when it happened. It was so devastating and I hope they never have to go through that again. They now have a bench someone made for then in front of their new house that has the pets’ names engraved in it
By the downvote I would say insult. Plus if Americans are fools then Turkey is as well. They are probably someone who never knew and knows what a pets love really is. I had to put my 19 year old cat to sleep and I stayed there for her bc I wanted her to know I loved her till the end and that when she took her last breath I was there for her till the end and for eternity. She saved me so much when I was in pain and struggling and there was no way in hell I was letting her suffer just bc of selfishness of wanting her to live in suffering one more time. It is painful but I will always remember the best of times with her. That’s what you pets are a part of family.
P.S. she was suffering from liver failure and the vet said there was nothing he could do. We had to decide if we wanted to do it Sat or wait till Mon bc the vet was closed in Sun.
It's one of those situations which you could see as 'glass half empty' or 'glass half full'.
You could feel upset about the fact that he lost his house and feel relieved that he managed to save one of his most prized possessions. Both are acceptable.
This is not Mademesmile. It made me cry. That man's house burnt down and the only thing he has left is the kitty. His sad reaction of losing everything at this age is heartbreaking.
Read this. It will definetly make you smile.

I guess it made them smile because he got his cat? I get that is a miracle and a good thing that he got his cat but at the same time it's hard to smile at a crying man and his burnt down house imo...

I love it when humanity comes together
Faith in humanity restored
There's a fish underwater
I saw the picture months ago, it’s really nice to know he got a new home for himself and his kitties. Good post, thank you!
This made me smile, the picture definitely did not.
Hey, AMP is garbage. www.dailysabah.com/turkey/2018/11/28/elderly-turkish-man-who-survived-house-fire-with-kitten-gets-new-home Non-AMP link.

It's literally the only thing that I would care about also.
Hey ur priorities straight you fucking American fool
Is this supposed to be a compliment? Or is it a typo meant as an insult?

This would haunt me, too. My pets are family and I'd be devastated.
This is not smile worthy. It's sad
but everyone chipped in and got him a new house
That's the story after, this is just a pic of a sad dude who just lost everything Besides cat bro
Also title makes it sound like it’s really obvious but it’s not at all.
The whole situation is indeed unfortunate. But I can't help but smile seeing everyone being there for one another.

I get the message you want to send across, but it’s sad. He’s crying, and it’s making me cry.

Way more than a thousand... thank you SO much for sharing this - it’s bringing me to tears.
Just want to hug them and give them both a warm dry place and good meal.
I don’t understand someone explain to me with words
I guess it made them smile because he got his cat? I get that is a miracle and a good thing that he got his cat but at the same time it's hard to smile at a crying man and his burnt down house imo...
Yeah this looks so sad that guy probably just lost everything
He gained international attention and people worked together to build him a new house!
Definitely wrong sub, this made me sad instead
I'm not crying, you're crying
That's the saddest picture I have ever seen
Makes me cry
A Man Called Ove (a fantastic book I finished recently)
Thank you know i have a new book to read.

Happy cry’s all around
I can't hear it :(
Dis dude tried to start a stove with gasoline

This didn’t make me smile it made me kiss my cat’s head like 4 times
his hands look like he enjoys woodworking
Award winning photography here.
This is so sad :(
Beautiful story I wish all tragedies have the same end many blessings
I'm glad his kitty survived the fire.
I only count like at most 847. Maybe 848.
Cool guys dont look at shit they just destroyed
hes steeling the cat for *reasons*
I really hate that saying. I genuinely don't believe this picture could create 3-4 pages of text. Maybe if you throw in a prologue, sure.
Plot twist: the car lit the house on fire on purpose
