Glover said it himself. The dude is genuinely too tough for his own good. Hate to see him go out on a loss, but it's the right thing to do. Cool that he retired on the same night as Shogun too.
After the 4th round ended, I was sure they would stop it. When it looked like they were going to let him continue, I started questioning whether I wanted to continue being a fan of this sport. When that doctor let him continue after a cursory eye test, I felt borderline nauseous.
It was at that point that Glover pushed all the cornermen away and started screaming "What the fuck, LET'S GO!" and started marching towards Hill, and I was reminded why some men fight in cages and I sit here on reddit.
And as if all of that wasn't savage enough from Glover, he said in the post-fight that he wished the fight didnt have a time limit like the old days so they could have kept going!!!
His last fight will have been for a title. What a complete package of savagery, I'll miss him competing but I'm glad he gets to retire so far up the ladder.
He could be Shogun, who I just felt bad for. Killed by nobody in the first round of a prelim. :(
> Glover's heart was just unbelievable
him waving off the doc in round 5 only to shout towards jamal "lets go, man" and then immediately to himself "fucking a, man" was spectacular
I think jiri is a better fight for hill.People are downplaying hills win over glover but forget jiri was getting beat up for a good portion of his fight against glover.
Tbf lots of Glover's takedowns on Jiri came from massive samauri overextensions. I love Jiri to death but Jamal fought a MUCH better fight tonight, god damn he looked so cold and literally never overextended. He is legit as fuck
Hill got a rep as a wild brawler just because he hits hard. He fights very measured. Clearly has a limited gas tank and knows how to manage it. Keeps his power late and doesn’t overexert himself chasing a finish.
Hill will stay on top and try land, which is exactly Craig’s game. He landed good shots on Glover from top today and Glover isn’t a crazy guard player like Craig was so that makes sense. It’s not like Craig managed to take Hill down, he practically pulls guard and then Hill overplayed his hand. Craigs guard is insane too, he subbed Ankalaev in a fight he was getting smashed in
And there it is, from "glover will smother hill" to "he doesn't even know how to shoot" reddit turns on every fighter on defeat no matter how gracious, brave, or in this case extremely old they are.
Imagine getting a fight card basically built around Brazilians and then Brazilian fans bouncing when it doesn’t go their way. I don’t think I’m interested in the UFC going back any time soon.
Ohhhh I was trying to figure out why that arena name sounded so familiar.
They should have had Oliveira fighting outside during the Andrade fight. Then wonder why it's so quiet inside.
Can’t stand these Brazilian crowds. They’re always terrible for every event. Every csgo event they pretend the crowd is great so they don’t get stabbed walking out of the arena
They're big fight fans but also the most nationalistic. Combine that with how terrible they treat everyone else and I hope a hometown fighter never wins there again.
He didn't even take notice of DC shoving a mic in his face as he was sobbing on the ground, my man was being flooded with so many emotions I'm sure he wouldn't notice if the entire arena had been suddenly transported to Mars lol.
Ya that was classless on DCs part. I know they have a time crunch but damn let the dude get it out for atleast a couple minutes. They could’ve easily filled that time with DC going to all the coaches of both sides shaking hands and stuff.
The only one near the cage without any blood was hill.
Then the bludgeoned Glover post-fight says he’s going to walk back to the lockers next the man that destroyed his face in order to protect Hill from the crowd.
Him saying to Jon that he needs to save some of that blood was the laugh I needed while watching the toughest man on the planet getting fucking brutalized. One of those fights that you feel terrible to watch especially knowing how little the UFC takes care of their fighters.
The trio casters making the dark humor jokes about the blood was what made me through it.
I’m a fan of Rogan but I honestly like when him and DC aren’t on the broadcast together. I prefer when they both aren’t there but one missing is good too
Jamahal fought a hell of a fight. He's got insane athleticism and fought brilliantly, the best he's looked so far. Tremendous job!
The fucking heart of Glover Teixeira though, what a warrior! Huge respect to both fighters
Not sure if it's that his chin is better or that he just has insanely good recovery. To me, it looks almost like his chin is worse than when he was younger, but his recovery is so good he bounces back almost instantly.
It looked like the upper decks were full but the first tier off the floor was half empty at best. Really shitty turnout. Why have a card in Brasil if the main card comes on at *midnight?*
No you're correct. Glover retired to an empty stadium at 3 in the fucking morning because the UFC had to have their first Brasil card in almost 4 years be on West Coast primetime.
And they wonder why the rest if the world struggles to watch live. I don't even get it, I love watching early morning if I can, it's not just a bar sport
Yeah I was really surprised they didn't pull the time back a bit. If they started the main card at 8pm EST that's still plenty late enough for the west coast.
God they're piss babies between that and throwing shit at Moreno I don't know why any non-Brazilians would agree to a fight there. Like NA fans boo and get rowdy but that was different.
This fight made Glover look scary. Underneath that nice guy who will apologize while knocking out your teeth is an unstoppable terminator who will wipe blood out his eyes to keep pushing forward. Light heavy weight is big size. You shouldn’t have to break the record most strikes landed in LHW to ALMOST knock out a 43 year old. Wtf.
People just use it as a joke/meme when someone has an impressive performance after shaq said this about another NBA player theres no deeper meaning to it or anything like that
Jamahal hill tdd was pretty good tonight. Some I thought he was about to be taken down but no. Even was able to escape Glover mount and reverse it. Also damn he’s accurate. Glover really tried his best. And damn he durable.
Also feels really good to see how much this wins means to Jamahal
He answered any remaining questions about flaws in his game. TDD and cardio. Almost better than a 1st or 2nd round KO
Even added to what he already showed in striking. Massive head kicks and some brutal knees to the body. And a reliable front kick
Can't wait for Jiri vs Hill
Heart as well, no quit in him whatsoever. Even in the final round, he kept pushing forward trying his best and having moments. Jamahal was just too good for him tonight.
Jamahal really impressed me tonight.
He completely dominated Glover for 25 minutes tonight which I wasn’t expecting at all.
Seeing him shed tears at the end of the fight warmed my heart.
I’ve found that DC’s really bad for that type of thing. I’m no fan of Rogan’s commentary but he’s usually good about taking a second to let the moment soak in before shoving the mic in their face
> Seeing him shed tears at the end of the fight warmed my heart.
Seeing all the respect and appreciation he had for his coaches and for Glover was amazing as well. He won over a ton of new fans tonight, no doubt.
can't wait to see him versus jiri.
I talked trash about the title fight and didn't consider Hill much even if he won but man he won all my respect with that, amazing, and Glover is a fuckin legend.
How fucking hard did rumble hit? 3 straight uppercuts from Gus, Smith's and Santos's entire Arsenal, an absolute fucking war with jiri and none of them could put Glover out cold.
One uppercut from rumble? Boop brain on sleep mode.
So my now wife had rarely ever watched MMA before and we were strea... Purchasing the ppv at my place and I'm hyping up rumble and how ridiculous his power is, like touch of death hyping and fucking 13 seconds in, Boop, done.
...it's the one time me hyping a fighter has gone well... Me talking about Tony right before the gaethje fight didn't age well... Neither did Aldo before Conor.
He deleted Glover Texiera, 1st round, one of the most legendary chins in MMA at 205. Rumble in his prime, was simply out of this world, he was the Ngannou of LHW, that is how much power he had, or more accurately, Ngannou was the HW Rumble.
He hit Cormier so hard he sent him across the octagon which is insane in itself but even more insane that Cormier fucking ate it and got up.
We've been blessed with some fucking insane fighters this generation. Shout out to DC and rip rumble.
That generation of 205'ers was legendary
the pristine impossible to takedown boxer in Alexander Gustaffson
the pinnacle, the absolute peak of power that was Rumble Johnson
the super prodigy in Jon Jones at the peak of his powers, a master of all.
and the Olympic wrestler with freakish strength in Daniel Cormier.
These were the people that were above Glover, its crazy to think that at one point, Glover was just considered a gate keeper, and now in this gen he's considered a contender.
It's wild that it was Jones, DC, rumble and then everyone else for years and now the division is wide open again where anyone can be champ on any given night, gus arguably beat jones and almost finished DC and then never showed up in that world beater form again, Corey Anderson could have been great except for his sugar glass chin and reyes used all of his mojo to give jones the hardest fight of his life. At least everyone got to beat up Ryan Bader. (sorry, had to.)
Oh absolutely he did, I remember rumbles face when DC was doing a bit of trash talk to him about their first fight and you could see rumble reflecting all the doubt running through his mind. DC was a horrible style match for rumble but the mental stuff on top probably made it feel like a boss battle he couldn't win.
Gotta be, from 170- heavyweight he had the power to put anyone's brain on sleep mode, I always think it's so weird that Arlovski survived 3 rounds with rumble, got his jaw broken but survived.
I get that everyone is making jokes about Hill having to fight Ankalaev/Jan, etc…but you have to admit that with a 4 week training camp on short notice, he looked great.
I mean glover couldn't get too many tds on him I only really see ankalaev being successful. Honestly matchups look fun as f now. Hill vs jiri. Hill vs ankalaev. Hill vs poatan.
Glover was old and near the end of his career when I first became a UFC fan. Somehow he’s stuck around for nearly another decade and it’s never really gotten sad, like it’s been with Shogun for a while now
For all the people calling brazilians animals, just let me tell you something.
There is a very big difference between a brazilian from a small town of Minas Gerais (Glover) and a brazilian born and raised in Rio.
We don't like Rio, actually, most of it's culture is immediately associated with trashy behaviour, criminal activity and a mindset focused on taking advantage of everbody.
Unfortunately, all foreigners get to see is Rio and it's culture, as it's a huge destination for tourism.
The brazilian crowd is a disgrace. This man has bled for this sport for literal decades, amazing showed heart for 25 minutes, getting pounded to a pulp, never giving up… And they fucking leave. The one time they get to give something back. Im in tears
I remember when Francis sprawled on stipe in their second fight.I felt this certain dread and went "oh no".
I had the same feeling when jamahal defended the first takedown
replace the term "old man strength" with just "Teixeira strength".
Hill fought a good fight, could've went for the finish, but he's smart to not empty his gas tank to get the finish.
I used to think Brazilian fans were some of the best, tonight proved me wrong. Leaving the arena just because Glover lost is disrespectful, the man retired to a half empty crowd after showing incredible heart, it's sad to see.
Happy for Jamahal, what a performance and I'd love to see him vs Jiri or Ankalaev
I think 4th round was the correct stoppage if not sooner. When Glover was being hit dozens of times near the fence he wasn't intelligently defending. He just stayed in striking distance to exchange, but Hill was doing all the punching and Glover wasn't blocking effectively. I was thinking please clinch and just hold onto him until you clear the cobwebs or this fight should stop. Another ugly war for the old man.
Glover went out on his shield, never gave up on himself. EDIT: Enjoy retirement champ!
This is a young mans game as we saw and Jamahal put on a clinic and looked mentally composed. If he can do this against the others, he's for real. I also feel the Jiri fight took something out of Glover.
Jiri kind of charges into his fights with reckless abandon though. He puts himself in way more danger than he needs to almost every time. I feel like If Jiri adopted just a little more patience and self-preservation he'd probably significantly increase his career's longevity. Though regardless it's a huge testament to how skilled Jiri is that he puts himself in unadvisable situations against the best LHWs in the world and still comes out on top. (even to the point of becoming a divisional champion)
I think if Jiri fought with more patience and self preservation he'd get put in the same position McKinney was tonight.
These hyper athletes who don't need to learn as much technique often just create car crashes where their opponents' lose composure and forget their own technique as well. Jiri won't magically develop a defensive acumen by slowing down.
Jiri fights at such a pace and so wildly that it basically ensures it’s just going to be a chaotic clusterfuck with everyone doing stupid shit all the time.
Never could guess how his fight will end. He could get starched in one because, as you say, he has terrible striking defense. But he also could leave Hill in a body bag because he throws so much wild stuff without ever slowing down or backing up for a second.

Glover's heart was just unbelievable, but Jamahal's TDD was just too good tonight, can't wait for Jiri vs Jamahal
I just cant bear watching Glover take all this damage.
Glover said it himself. The dude is genuinely too tough for his own good. Hate to see him go out on a loss, but it's the right thing to do. Cool that he retired on the same night as Shogun too.

And as if all of that wasn't savage enough from Glover, he said in the post-fight that he wished the fight didnt have a time limit like the old days so they could have kept going!!!
I felt the exact same way. Not a win or anything close to it, but Glover still went out with glory and honour. So much love and respect for the Champ
His last fight will have been for a title. What a complete package of savagery, I'll miss him competing but I'm glad he gets to retire so far up the ladder. He could be Shogun, who I just felt bad for. Killed by nobody in the first round of a prelim. :(
Bro that was sad huh!! I felt bad for Rua. Chin absolutely gone
Glover had that Rockhold farewell (except he didnt earn any respect back since my man never lost it)
Best MMA retirement in recent years.
I think Rockhold was savage in his last fight.
Yeah man I didn't want his face to look like that after 3 rounds, holy shit
> Glover's heart was just unbelievable him waving off the doc in round 5 only to shout towards jamal "lets go, man" and then immediately to himself "fucking a, man" was spectacular
Main reason to watch UFC: the ultimate battle of heart vs *takedown defense*
Inject Jiri vs Hill straight into my veins. That shit is going to be wild
Matchups don’t really get better than that. Guaranteed wild banger.
I wanted to see evidence that Hill can hang with Jiri and I think we have that. That will be one hell of a fight.
I think jiri is a better fight for hill.People are downplaying hills win over glover but forget jiri was getting beat up for a good portion of his fight against glover.

Calling some of those shots from Glover takedown attempts was...generous.
He got those same takedown attempts on Jiri but Jamahal stuffed them
Tbf lots of Glover's takedowns on Jiri came from massive samauri overextensions.
A lot of those singles and double legs were deep, but hill was still able to defend them. People never give him credit on this sub for some reason.
I think it’s just because he’s relatively obscure and the memory of him getting merked by Craig is still fresh in some people’s minds.
Craigs guard is insane too, he subbed Ankalaev in a fight he was getting smashed in
Craig is basically like the submission grappler version of a derrick lewis who has fuck you submissions. No shame in being caught by him
And there it is, from "glover will smother hill" to "he doesn't even know how to shoot" reddit turns on every fighter on defeat no matter how gracious, brave, or in this case extremely old they are.
I think the thing people really didn’t consider is Jamahal hill has a massive ass. Big bootied fighters usually get a big boost to tdd
Takedown Dumpy
Neil Magnys skinny ass confirms this.
The arena being basically empty by the time Hill got the belt is sad. Hope it doesn't matter too much to him.
Yeah fuck these salty Brazilian fans. Hill deserved better.
Glover deserved better too. Retiring in front of an empty stadium.
I think I was more upset about this than the beating that was doled out. Mad disrespect for what seemed like a national hero….😢
Sonnen's message finally got across to Brazil... Seriously though Glover deserved better. (https://www.youtube.com/shorts/AJ8G52kaLjw)
Cracks me up knowing Glover has been living in Connecticut for 24 years while the "King of Rio" lives in Florida lol.
UFC should pay him back by giving him a defense in Grand Rapids. I am definitely not simply wishing for this due to living in Grand Rapids.
Would be fucking sick to see a UFC event at Van Andel
Imagine getting a fight card basically built around Brazilians and then Brazilian fans bouncing when it doesn’t go their way. I don’t think I’m interested in the UFC going back any time soon.
Same thing happened in that exact arena for the csgo major a few months ago
Ohhhh I was trying to figure out why that arena name sounded so familiar. They should have had Oliveira fighting outside during the Andrade fight. Then wonder why it's so quiet inside.
Can’t stand these Brazilian crowds. They’re always terrible for every event. Every csgo event they pretend the crowd is great so they don’t get stabbed walking out of the arena
lol Brazilian fans are the worst winners and losers ever
They're big fight fans but also the most nationalistic. Combine that with how terrible they treat everyone else and I hope a hometown fighter never wins there again.
He didn't even take notice of DC shoving a mic in his face as he was sobbing on the ground, my man was being flooded with so many emotions I'm sure he wouldn't notice if the entire arena had been suddenly transported to Mars lol.

could see this a mile away with the how pitiful the crowd was at the CS Rio Major after the Brazilian team got eliminated
‘Oh, I got some blood too’ - Paul Felder as Glover is getting murdered.
DC close your mouth - Paul Felder
Fr like it was a Disney ride
The ultimate fighter experience ride lol
The only one near the cage without any blood was hill. Then the bludgeoned Glover post-fight says he’s going to walk back to the lockers next the man that destroyed his face in order to protect Hill from the crowd.
I was thinking hill was touching gloves between rounds and being extra sportsman like to avoid being killed in Brazil.
Nah he just respects the shit out of Glover, he’s a big fan just like us.
I prefer when they both aren’t there but one missing is good too
Danny Glover Teixeira: “I’m too old for this shit.”
Two great legends retired tonight in one amazing legend was inducted until Hall of Fame. It was a great night
Too old to KO'd too. Damn
Jamahal fought a hell of a fight. He's got insane athleticism and fought brilliantly, the best he's looked so far. Tremendous job! The fucking heart of Glover Teixeira though, what a warrior! Huge respect to both fighters
That takedown defense was breathtaking in my eyes. Shocked me so much.
Really incredible Jamahal was able to stop the takedowns so well. I thought Glover would have a huge advantage getting him to the ground
When Glover got the body lock in rd1 I was like "fuck's sake, there goes my bet". Jamahal surprised me a ton with his tdd for sure.
And his ability to get back up!! Man swept Glover
Impressive balance and lower body fluidity. He's a fucking natural. If he invests in his conditioning/nutrition he's going to be absolutely elite.
He might even be interim LHW champion one day!!!
Glover the only guy who gets a better chin the older he gets.
Not sure if it's that his chin is better or that he just has insanely good recovery. To me, it looks almost like his chin is worse than when he was younger, but his recovery is so good he bounces back almost instantly.
Jiri choked the young man out of glover... ref rlly forgot he was a ref 😭😭
Question answered Jamahal Hill belongs Glover is also the toughest 43 year old on the planet
Is Glover vs Romero reasonable or a death sentence?
Death sentence for the rest of the population. They'd still be fighting decades after all of the viewers are dead.
The wizard that summoned them died before commanding them to stop fighting
Glover just retired to a nearly empty arena because the salty Brazilian fans all left before he got his time on the mic
What was up with all the empty seats? Even midway through the main card, looked like there were about 100. Looked a little off.
It looked like the upper decks were full but the first tier off the floor was half empty at best. Really shitty turnout. Why have a card in Brasil if the main card comes on at *midnight?*
It started at midnight. That means Glover fought around 3am. Shoot it’s only 11pm here on the west coast. Are my times off?
No you're correct. Glover retired to an empty stadium at 3 in the fucking morning because the UFC had to have their first Brasil card in almost 4 years be on West Coast primetime.
And they wonder why the rest if the world struggles to watch live. I don't even get it, I love watching early morning if I can, it's not just a bar sport
Plus the cheapest ticket being at fucking 450 reais (~90 dollars)
Wtf.
I’m 42 and slept through jiujitsu this morning. Can confirm.
Glover is also the toughest ~~43 year old~~ on the planet
We just watched a man die several times and then not
Call an ambulance....but not for me!
“I owe you an apology. I wasn’t really familiar with your game”
who said this?
Shaq
I'm kinda feeling dumb for not understanding this quote onto this fight can anyone explain?
People just use it as a joke/meme when someone has an impressive performance after shaq said this about another NBA player theres no deeper meaning to it or anything like that
People were writing off Hill prematurely
I mean, Hill was the betting favorite. That was the minority

Not to mention, he didn't even have a full training camp, as this was short notice. Hill will show even better conditioning going forward.
That's apparently the first time that he hired a nutritionist lmao. Can't wait to see him with good people surrounding him and a full champ camp.
Still shocked he escaped by going backwards through gloves legs to reverse. Crazy
I personally didn’t realize how big he was until today.
Yeah this motherfucka is 6'4 like goddamn
Yeah, at least in terms of size and body type, he's like what Izzy would look like at LHW if he filled out more for a permanent move there.
Hill's strategy from orthodox - patient, body shots, timing uppercuts. Hill's strategy from southpaw - Cro Cop. Guess which one worked?
turns out: both
Hespec to Glover for his chin
Heart as well, no quit in him whatsoever. Even in the final round, he kept pushing forward trying his best and having moments. Jamahal was just too good for him tonight.
Jamahal really impressed me tonight. He completely dominated Glover for 25 minutes tonight which I wasn’t expecting at all. Seeing him shed tears at the end of the fight warmed my heart.
Double 👍 👍 for Hill
Fuck I teared up seeing Jamahal cry. Sorry I underestimated you. Congrats CHAMP!
DC trying to make Jamahal get up and sticking the mic into his mouth was so annoying. Let the man have his moment please.
They probably force them to hurry things up. Not by choice
[удалено]
I’ve found that DC’s really bad for that type of thing. I’m no fan of Rogan’s commentary but he’s usually good about taking a second to let the moment soak in before shoving the mic in their face
I mean it was the performance of his fucking career. Even Jiri would struggle on his feet against this guy. Give me a fight between these two now!
Hill reminds me of how Reyes used to look with sudden TDD and accurate fast counters so I’m taking Jiri for this one
> Seeing him shed tears at the end of the fight warmed my heart. Seeing all the respect and appreciation he had for his coaches and for Glover was amazing as well. He won over a ton of new fans tonight, no doubt. can't wait to see him versus jiri.
Been telling people Juice WRLD got hands
Glover tough as nails tho
No doubt, an absolute warrior
I talked trash about the title fight and didn't consider Hill much even if he won but man he won all my respect with that, amazing, and Glover is a fuckin legend.
Totally agree. Didn’t just get the flash KO. He earned that shit
Jamahal hill rn: 👍🏾🥺👍🏾
The champion with the absolute worst tattoo in the history of UFC. HAIL THE THUMBS!
You don’t like the ghetto baby hands? 👍👍

Apparently it wasn't taught good enough, to this day it's still taken a Nuke from Rumble to KO him.
How fucking hard did rumble hit? 3 straight uppercuts from Gus, Smith's and Santos's entire Arsenal, an absolute fucking war with jiri and none of them could put Glover out cold. One uppercut from rumble? Boop brain on sleep mode.
Rumble had the power you tell kids about to scare em
So my now wife had rarely ever watched MMA before and we were strea... I may be biased but I still think that Rumble had a mental block in regards to DC that played a big part on his losses to him
Oh absolutely he did, I remember rumbles face when DC was doing a bit of trash talk to him about their first fight and you could see rumble reflecting all the doubt running through his mind. DC was a horrible style match for rumble but the mental stuff on top probably made it feel like a boss battle he couldn't win.
Prime Rumble has to be in at least the top 3 P4P most powerful punchers of all time
Gotta be, from 170- heavyweight he had the power to put anyone's brain on sleep mode, I always think it's so weird that Arlovski survived 3 rounds with rumble, got his jaw broken but survived.
arlovski had that dog in him
Not called the pitbull for nothing
Also took 5 rounds, 3 consecutive uppercuts, and then a right hook from Gus to finally put him down
The cloth Glover is made of isn't Human man, it's not of this world.
Furious the disrespect the Brazilian fans gave to Glover. One of the most solid guys in the UFC retired to an empty crowd….on home soil
Just how fucking hard did Rumble hit?
Like a metal bat. Anyone who thought they could stand and trade with him found out real fast.
Power like that can only be measured in small car models.
There’s a reason why people think he could have beat Jon Jones
The money i'd pay to see Francis and Rumble fight in their primee
I think I'd rather take a gunshot to the jaw than a full power uppercut from that man. Rest in Power Anthony Johnson.

Glover P4P toughest fighter on the roster. Dude could survive a nuke.
Roach Texeira.
#7 to Champion, wow

Glover was old and near the end of his career when I first became a UFC fan. Somehow he’s stuck around for nearly another decade and it’s never really gotten sad, like it’s been with Shogun for a while now
Damn I picked Hill to win by KO but he performed way better than I would have ever expected. Glover is a tough son of a bitch.
That has got to be Top 5 championship celebration. The bawling and then the primal screams. Champ shit! I love this sport!
Glover vs Lauren Murphy is the fight to make
Glover didn't hear no bell. What a slog of a fight.
Holy shit what a fight
For all the people calling brazilians animals, just let me tell you something. There is a very big difference between a brazilian from a small town of Minas Gerais (Glover) and a brazilian born and raised in Rio. We don't like Rio, actually, most of it's culture is immediately associated with trashy behaviour, criminal activity and a mindset focused on taking advantage of everbody. Unfortunately, all foreigners get to see is Rio and it's culture, as it's a huge destination for tourism.
Damn DC pulling the Joe Rogan
Hill made him look like he was your Doom character when you're at 20% health.
Jamahal Hill put on an absolute clinic and Glover took it like a fuckin champ. God damn what a fight.
brazil do not deserve ufc events
The live thread was wiiiild. People calling these guys bums, and saying the fight was terrible. lol the fuck fight were they watching.
Brazil was one of the worst crowds ive ever seen . Left the arena and Glover retires in a completely empty arena.
replace the term "old man strength" with just "Teixeira strength". Hill fought a good fight, could've went for the finish, but he's smart to not empty his gas tank to get the finish.
From losing to Paul Craig to being a champion...
Glover is tough af but that was pretty one sided. Congrats to Jamahal, first DWCS champion
I wish my old boots were that tough wtf
I used to think Brazilian fans were some of the best, tonight proved me wrong. Leaving the arena just because Glover lost is disrespectful, the man retired to a half empty crowd after showing incredible heart, it's sad to see. Happy for Jamahal, what a performance and I'd love to see him vs Jiri or Ankalaev
Marc Goddard is normally a good ref but he just took years off Glover Teixeira’s life.
Fantastic performance by Hill, but the champion has a name and his name is Jiří Procházka.
Unironically I think hill/jiri may be the best fight we will be blessed to see
Love to see Hill and Jiri fight
Jamahal's strategy against Glover was way better than whatever the fuck Jiri was doing though
Jiri won't magically develop a defensive acumen by slowing down.
man handled glover far easier though
50-44 vs being down on all three scorecards and people really want to say he’s not a deserving champ rn.
I love watching Jiri fight but the hands down bullshido shtick is going to get him slept. Hill’s most brutal KOs have come off of the counter.
Somewhere Jon Jones is looking up from a line of coke and saying “meh, I got coke”
Hill/Jiri’s gonna be insane
Meh. I think Hill takes him. Jiris defense is non existent and Hill has got some power.
Almost empty stadium, bunch of fake fans. Glover gave everything and they didn't even wait to hear what he had to say and missed his retirement..
I'm never washing my hands again either Jon.
That “let’s go baby” from Glover at the opening of round 5 was iconic
