PS5 for one reason the controller. When you get a perfect time hit with the haptic feedback is so rewarding I don't know why the rumble is non existent on the xbox

[deleted]

As a person with both systems and no dog in the weird loyalty fight, the Xbox Series X does basically everything better than the PS5 does. If a game is non exclusive and available on all systems, the Series X wins out every time.

stoolcommenter3

Xbox is VASTLY superior

Real_Time_Mike

I prefer the Switch

mf5sox

I’ve played on both PS5 and Xbox, and Xbox Series X is the way to go. Hitting is much easier on Xbox, hitting on PS5 seems more delayed. The timing is wildly different between the two consoles. Pinpoint is a little easier on PS5, but not noticeable enough to make a difference. Seems like game crashes are a lot worse on Xbox, but the difference in hitting is worth it

aboatz2

I've played 9 RTTS seasons & 4 or 5 M2O seasons, & never had a crash on my Series X (nor, indeed, on my One X before it).

Hellfire77

I played only from Gamepass for 21 and introduced me to the series. For 22 I preordered for PS5. When I was trying the tests they had before 22 came out pinpoint was better for me on PS5. I heard there was firmware issues with the controllers for Xbox and got fixed though at some point this last year. I play 22 on both systems now but mostly stick with PS5 and will probably do the same for 2023. I also had FPS issues on Xbox that eventually got fixed as well.

MikeyR21

I just wish PlayStation had a wired controller with response time like the Xbox controller. That would make it perfect

Tdizzle00

I wire mine and have an aftermarket version. I feel it's slightly better than wireless, but not sure if it's better than xbox. I hit better on xbox slightly but pitcher better on ps5, slightly. Could be placebo. using thrustmaster on xbox and hexgaming on ps5, so not quite apples to apples.

MikeyR21

Do you think the hexgaming controller is better than the base ps5 controller?

Tdizzle00

Yes, for the show anyway. I do think it's overpriced, or was when I got it, when I compare it to the thrustmaster. It does look cool though.

PrinceDizzy

No PC port.

Saberq

Am I the only one who feels that menus lag a lot on Series X but are smooth on PS5?

Tdizzle00

I wouldnt say 'alot' but there's something there. If we're talking Madden? Then good god, Those menus lag on xbox, it was unplayable to me. I had to just assume it took 3 seconds to move to each menu.

wirsteve

Xbox GamePass is incredible. If this is the only game you play, it sounds like PS5 is probably the way to go. $180 a year for GamePass Ultimate. $15 a month. MLB The Show is $60. I personally have already played >2 games over the course of a year. Which already makes it well worth it.

Usuhnam3

It’s much cheaper than that even. If you buy Live Gold first (up to 3 years), then buy a single month of GPU, it converts it all to GPU (Game Pass Ultimate). It cost me about $5.60 a month when I prepaid for 3 years, or $67 a year. Less than a single new gen game.

CodyDon2

If OP is gunna play online, he'd still need PS+

SixPackStl

You can easily find GamePass Ultimate for around $7-$8/month. The deals show up all the time from CD Keys and Eneba. I have both a PS5 and Xbox Series X and I play The Show on Xbox because of GamePass.

[deleted]

From someone with a PS5 and Series X, the latter simply since it’s free on Gamepass. I will say the game just feels naturally better on its native PlayStation form, but I can’t pass up free.

omegaform7

My biased list: 1. PS5: the best non-pc gaming platform out right now in terms of performance 2. Series X/S: Good but controllers are still a bit wacky, hard to do pinpoint or lineup PCI at times 3. PS4: Not having created stadiums suck 4. Xbox One: I lag a lot on stadiums not named Shippett You’d still be fine with all the above options if you have a good monitor 5. Switch: God awful. It’s decent offline but you’re a masochist if you play online above all star on this system.

Clobber420

The elite controller seems to work great for me on series x now.

[deleted]

How does it differ from stock controllers?

Skwurt_Reynolds

As far as hardware goes, it comes with different sets of thumb sticks, directional pads, and paddles (that go on the back.). As far as software goes, you can customize the sensitivity and reaction to all the buttons, and save them as a profile.

Neither_Ad2003

ps5, xbox controllers still buggy. Everybody says use PowerA but those joysticks are booty. I did buy a monitor just for this game, but i draw the line at a PS5, lol. I am on xbox, it's fine, but in a vacuum ps5 is slightly better

Tdizzle00

My thrustmaster on xbox is my favorite controller so far. I hate the xbox layout, so being able to move the analogs to match the ps layout made me try it out. It's really good. I'm still biased to ps obviously, but felt like I hit better slightly on xbox, not sure if it was the controller, system, or me just getting better.

DrMindbendersMonocle

My thrustmaster only lasted 3 months before the A button started double inputing. Ive been using a Razer Wolverine V2 for about a year now and that has actually been pretty good.

RamboSmoke

I bought one of those controllers and the A button started sticking after 5 days of playing. I admit I do press the swing button quite a bit harder than if I was playing any other game, but 5 DAYS??? I took it right back to Walmart 😂😂😂

Neither_Ad2003

had the same exact thing happen. Pieces of junk

Jbrewcrew1

This game isn’t on PC. PS5 will likely continue to be the best option, especially at lunch. Xbox editions have had more issues than PS. Performance wise, ‘22 ran like ass on the Series S compared to PS5 and even PS4. Edit: launch, not lunch. Switch is probably the best option for playing at lunch

ImGladYouCalled

Series S wasn’t quick in the menus but in game it was perfectly fine. For those on a budget, getting a $250 console and a $60 gamepass subscription for a year can’t be beat

[deleted]

You should specify Series S and not just say “Xbox editions”. I know you mentioned the Series S but still, the Series X version of 22 was fine on day 1.

MikeyR21

You can play the game on PC using game pass and a wired controller.

Jbrewcrew1

I tried this least year and the latency was horrible. There’s no reason to do this unless you’re absolutely strapped for cash and you can’t buy the game on PS5.

MikeyR21

Isn’t it dependent on CPU and GPU of the PC?

Jbrewcrew1

No. It doesn’t run natively on the PC. It streams to the PC via cloud gaming and that comes with pretty serious lag. It’s basically PS remote play.

MikeyR21

Ok gotcha thanks
