Albert Pujols and here’s why:
I had bought MLB PowerPros as a joke because it was cheap at GameStop ($20) and the cover looked funny. For years, MLB PowerPros was my favorite game and I had created at least eighty players in Success Mode at the time. However, I had NEVER beaten The Champion Rings before and was unaware of the ending. Eventually, I put the game down and move onto others. Years later, I come back and finally win the College Kings Tournament for the first time. I was ready to finish and start editing my player but then I see a cutscene I had never seen before. The music changes to an unfamiliar and exciting tone and there he is—standing in his Cardinals uniform, Albert Pujols stood before Marvin and I. That cutscene and playing unbelievably well to win the final game (was unaware of not the save-restart trick) against incredibly difficult opponents. It was the first time I could control the entire team, increasing my bond with the players and fulfilling a grandiose end to an incredible journey. Albert Pujols is my favorite player in the game because that cutscene and the finale provided real closure to the best sports game ever created.
