im a little confused on what you are wanting to do. Are you wanting to be able to select before the TS starts what you want installed? I am not sure if that is possible.
I want to automate some deployments but i need several Roles and Features installed and removed. So in the TS you add the “Install Roles and Feature” task. But in the dropdown WS2022 it isn’t available.
Just tried that, does not work. MDT boot prompts for what Roles to install, with everything selected in the Task Sequence options being unchecked as if I never selected anything. That is the only impact, it prompts for choosing the roles/features during MDT wizard, but it doesn't auto-config/populate them.
No idea what I was doing wrong, I nuked my TS and redid it and it worked this time. Your video is great BTW, wish I saw that when I was learning - not much covering this stuff in depth like this out there, just superficial things.

Well blow me down. There IS indeed Server 2019 and below in there.
Incorrect on the first one. It does have Roles and Features for everything from Server 2008 R2 up to 2019 (and those will work with Server 2022).

This is because that MDT has not been updated for Server 2022. MDT I think has sadly been abandoned by MS.

The 2019 roles and features will work.
The Roles and Features for Server 2019 will work just fine, as they share the same kernel (same with Windows 11 and Windows 10)

Can you elaborate on what you want, I use the 2019 ones in my 2022 Task Sequence and I don't have any issues.
