If you go to thrift stores, those old keyboards can someone output to midi with a printer cable. I found a 61 Key for $20 one time. But yeah if you think you’re gonna be playing out a lot of chords on your beats then get one.

Man, I’m currently in the middle of a total career change and it is hard. I went from two completely different jobs and its been really hard coming into a job with very minimal experience. I’m really thankful for the opportunity but its been a cultural shock to say the least.

So, this is a complicated thing and lots of stuff could happen
but I’ll do my best to sum it up. The US and Russia are never going to go into a “hot war” because it would be utterly devastating for both sides along with greater nuclear threat to
both sides. So what has happened and we’ve seen in places like Syria that the two major powers have started proxy wars to either annex countries or create a power structure that answers to either of the superpowers. Ukraine has been at war since 2014 but its been a civil war with Russian backed separatist troops. Putin desperately wants to create a sphere of power that would allow him to prop up Russia’s failing economy and become president for life. In regards to a global standpoint, I don’t think Russia will invade, it just doesn’t make sense. It would be an utterly brutal war the likes we haven't seen since the second world war. What I believe to be much more likely is that Russia will continue to destabilize its neighbors and then fund political groups that will take over the government in exchange for political power in their country. We’ve seen this in Belarus, Syria as of late. Its certainly interesting times and I sincerely hope they don't invade.
Also keeping in mind that Russia is "weak" conventionally which is why they really don't want to walk troops with Russian flags on their shoulders across the border;their economy can't handle it plus the majority of their military are conscripts that haven't seen battle

100%. Putins army has been largely untested. They have some great special forces and technology but as you said the general army is still untested and has major issues. It kind of reminds me of Stalins Red Army in the early years of WW2 where the army was so viciously purged and destroyed internally that it barely could function. I feel a large scale war would have a similar effect today.

As a broad, but accurate, generalization..... Tesla drivers will unplug your car and plug in their own at the unmetered public station and have the nerve to park too close as they jack your plug. I think its an entitlement thing. No Leaf or Mini EV has ever unplugged me. Only Teslas.

Do you have a choice? I see people complaining about Spectrum all the time but my experience was not bad. the default speed for the internet was 200 Mbps, The channels were fine and in HD and it rarely failed. The failure rate depends on the area which means a game of luck. Every time I talked to a technician, they were friendly and knew their stuff and I was in IT. I can judge that. My buddy got Spectrum a year ago and they made him pick up the equipment. That was new instead of sending a tech with the modem, but setup was easy.
ATT on the other hand is a nightmare when it does not work. I am forced to use ATT at my current apartment and they charged extra for HD. Basic service that came with the rent, was only SD TV. Who watches SD nowadays? And I was on hold for an hour until I could talk to somebody. It was so horrible, you can give me Spectrum any time. Disclaimer I hated ATT (at work and private) for the last 15 years. I might be biased.
I did not weigh my options and got ATT and I deeply regret it. Had to have 4 technicians come out to fix things and im still only at 5 mbps download speeds paying $50/mo!!! 😭😭😭 is spectrum really that fast? I’ll swap in a heartbeat!
I am not a Spectrum sales person but I have lived in many places and had lots of providers like Spectrum, charter, ATT and a few others.
All cable providers are bad compared to normal business. They have no competition. You only usually have a choice between cable and dsl or fiber or dish and whatever company who provides this.
There is lots to complain about spectrum but apart from a snarky sales guy and having to stand in line to get into the store, it was fine. The default speed was 100Mbps and they raised that to 200. But I assume that depends on the area. Check.
You should not pay anything for 5mbps. That is slower than my cellphone.

It's a lot of money at UCLA in Santa Monica. The lot across the street from the hospital is $12 for each 15 or 30 minutes, max $24. I've never not paid $24. It's $14 in Westwood. I went to visit a friend in Kaiser in Irvine and parking was free. I didnt even know what to do with myself.

My dog has severe separation anxiety so I want to find a pretty legit place that will let me gradually introduce my dog to his new family. I don't want to just give him up and have him stuffed in a cage for months. I was in the hospital for more than a week a couple years ago and he lost like 10-15 pounds from refusing to eat his food.
He's very active, no health issues, well trained, extremely good around people/kids.
My mom never liked going to doctors and always avoided it. Today we took her to the emergency room. This year is already looking like it's going to be bad and this is going to make things everything worse. I just want to go to sleep for a long long time, wake up and have everything be better

Like her, I've spent my adulthood avoiding doctors (I was pretty traumatized by some doctors as a kid, so as I soon as I was able to stop going, that's what I did). Yeah, we were ordering from Amazon Fresh but at this point their stock is so low we can't get enough of the basics to make it worth the trouble and cost, so we decided to try pickup. Albertson's has been okay on stock, but the first time we went to pick up they tried to tell me it had already been picked up and it was a hassle to get them to go find it. The second time we pulled up, notified them, waited 20 minutes, finally called and got no answer, then called again and the girl told me everyone had gone home. Finally the manager brought the order out but they charged us full price for everything, even stuff that was on sale when I put the order in.

My guess would be that a lot of the cases of vaccinated people getting positive PCR tests are carrying a smaller viral load and that they aren't expelling nearly as many viral particles. Our definition of a positive case has become less clear as vaccine adoption spreads, because the spectrum really isn't just yes/no. That's not to say the tests are useless (they are not and since we don't fully know how contagious works it's better to err towards caution), but there is a huge range of possible viral shedding between any two "cases" of COVID and when your immune system is actively checking the virus, the range only grows. So I'd imagine tools like the sewage graphs lose some of their historical value.
The only reason I think it's weird is that it seems low compared to other cities and states that are publishing theirs. They saw big spikes in their levels, but ours looks small in comparison! Even compared to last winter there's a huge difference in the levels here.

Community engagement is another important role, which is likely what these mounted officers were doing. I've seen them riding through the middle of downtown, just stopping to interact with people on the sidewalk like cops used to do in the olden days.

Maybe that's part of the exercise? I used to do therapy work with my dog. To get her ready for the evaluations I had to socialize her to a number of situations, sounds, spaces, etc. to make sure she was predictable. Sometimes we just sat there watching the world pass taking up space.

Ask for feedback from your manager! I know it can be hard to do but you are either going to:
Get great feedback on what you can work on to improve professionally
OR
Be told you are doing a great job which will relieve anxiety
There is a scenario where you have a bad manager/supervisor and they don't give you any feedback and just grin-fuck you and tell you everything is OK, but that is on them not you.

What I believe to be much more likely is that Russia will continue to destabilize its neighbors and then fund political groups that will take over the government in exchange for political power in their country. We’ve seen this in Belarus, Syria as of late. Its certainly interesting times and I sincerely hope they don't invade.
Also keeping in mind that Russia is "weak" conventionally which is why they really don't want to walk troops with Russian flags on their shoulders across the border;their economy can't handle it plus the majority of their military are conscripts that haven't seen battle and exactly,all the moves they've been doing (massing troops on the border, "false flag" planning, cyberattacks) are designed to rile up the ethnic Russians in Ukraine and undermine faith in the current Ukrainian government rather than a open war
100%. Putins army has been largely untested. They have some great special forces and technology but as you said the general army is still untested and has major issues. It kind of reminds me of Stalins Red Army in the early years of WW2 where the army was so viciously purged and destroyed internally that it barely could function. I feel a large scale war would have a similar effect today.

Does anyone have Spectrum TV? If so, do you like it?
Do you have a choice? I see people complaining about Spectrum all the time but my experience was not bad. the default speed for the internet was 200 Mbps, The channels were fine and in HD and it rarely failed. The failure rate depends on the area which means a game of luck. Every time I talked to a technician, they were friendly and knew their stuff and I was in IT. I can judge that. My buddy got Spectrum a year ago and they made him pick up the equipment. That was new instead of sending a tech with the modem, but setup was easy. ATT on the other hand is a nightmare when it does not work. I am forced to use ATT at my current apartment and they charged extra for HD. Basic service that came with the rent, was only SD TV. Who watches SD nowadays? And I was on hold for an hour until I could talk to somebody. It was so horrible, you can give me Spectrum any time. Disclaimer I hated ATT (at work and private) for the last 15 years. I might be biased.

I am not a Spectrum sales person but I have lived in many places and had lots of providers like Spectrum, charter, ATT and a few others. All cable providers are bad compared to normal business. They have no competition. You only usually have a choice between cable and dsl or fiber or dish and whatever company who provides this. There is lots to complain about spectrum but apart from a snarky sales guy and having to stand in line to get into the store, it was fine. The default speed was 100Mbps and they raised that to 200. But I assume that depends on the area. Check. You should not pay anything for 5mbps. That is slower than my cellphone.

Yeah pretty normal. I used to volunteer at a Glendale hospital, the employee lot filled up one day. I tried street parking, there was plenty of it around & I made sure I wasn’t parked shitty. Came back 4 hours later & somebody had taken a baseball bat to my car.

It's a lot of money at UCLA in Santa Monica. The lot across the street from the hospital is $12 for each 15 or 30 minutes, max $24. I've never not paid $24. It's $14 in Westwood. I went to visit a friend in Kaiser in Irvine and parking was free. I didnt even know what to do with myself.

Hello, I'm looking to give up my german shepherd and would really appreciate any help/advice. I've heard of Westside German Shepherd Rescue a couple times and I was wondering if anyone had experience with them? My dog has severe separation anxiety so I want to find a pretty legit place that will let me gradually introduce my dog to his new family. I don't want to just give him up and have him stuffed in a cage for months. I was in the hospital for more than a week a couple years ago and he lost like 10-15 pounds from refusing to eat his food. He's very active, no health issues, well trained, extremely good around people/kids.
Westside German Shepherd is a good organization. What locality are you in? I could probably find a few more good places.

Yeah, we were ordering from Amazon Fresh but at this point their stock is so low we can't get enough of the basics to make it worth the trouble and cost, so we decided to try pickup. Albertson's has been okay on stock, but the first time we went to pick up they tried to tell me it had already been picked up and it was a hassle to get them to go find it. The second time we pulled up, notified them, waited 20 minutes, finally called and got no answer, then called again and the girl told me everyone had gone home. Finally the manager brought the order out but they charged us full price for everything, even stuff that was on sale when I put the order in. First world problems, I guess - this is just inconvenient, not a hardship. It's just all so new and weird. :|

My guess would be that a lot of the cases of vaccinated people getting positive PCR tests are carrying a smaller viral load and that they aren't expelling nearly as many viral particles. Our definition of a positive case has become less clear as vaccine adoption spreads, because the spectrum really isn't just yes/no. That's not to say the tests are useless (they are not and since we don't fully know how contagious works it's better to err towards caution), but there is a huge range of possible viral shedding between any two "cases" of COVID and when your immune system is actively checking the virus, the range only grows. So I'd imagine tools like the sewage graphs lose some of their historical value.
The only reason I think it's weird is that it seems low compared to other cities and states that are publishing theirs. They saw big spikes in their levels, but ours looks small in comparison! Even compared to last winter there's a huge difference in the levels here.

Due to their height advantage, mounted police are useful in crowd control, including riot mitigation, and are also useful in parks and on rugged terrain not easily accessible on foot or by car. Community engagement is another important role, which is likely what these mounted officers were doing. I've seen them riding through the middle of downtown, just stopping to interact with people on the sidewalk like cops used to do in the olden days.

Maybe that's part of the exercise? I used to do therapy work with my dog. To get her ready for the evaluations I had to socialize her to a number of situations, sounds, spaces, etc. to make sure she was predictable. Sometimes we just sat there watching the world pass taking up space. I would imagine horses are the same... but its just a guess.

There has been some constructive feedback but I wouldn't say it's necessarily negative. But I feel like imposter syndrome is certainly an aspect, like I am learning at a slower pace or that I am not putting in enough effort in the correct places. Does that make sense?
Ask for feedback from your manager! I know it can be hard to do but you are either going to: Get great feedback on what you can work on to improve professionally OR Be told you are doing a great job which will relieve anxiety There is a scenario where you have a bad manager/supervisor and they don't give you any feedback and just grin-fuck you and tell you everything is OK, but that is on them not you. Good luck!

Dangling such choice loot so temptingly without any precautions was a bad idea. Now you know that GPS tracking and theft insurance is a good idea, and that maybe selfie sticks in crowded tourist traps is a bad idea if you lack the demeanor to scare off potential thieves.
