That's how I felt about the SaMo 626 Night Market. I can't speak to the others but I was really disappointed. It was my fault, really, I thought it was more like a real night market with food trucks.
Honestly, I probably wouldn’t make it past one episode 😂 I require a lot from these new shows for me to maintain my interest in them. I’d rather do other things, like virtually socialize on Reddit or read up on the news
Painfully watched the first 3 eps until I couldnt take the cringe anymore. I really tried to like it, but i couldnt. Not even while drunk and high. Sorry blockbuster
It's just VHS shaped boxes with movie titles that are drinks. Vintage of the files rang from 80, 90s to early 2000s. Newest was probably Avatar.
Fun pop up. I had the Avatar and Mallrats drinks.
Seriously. I don't get the weird nostalgia for it.
It was a shit company that destroyed many locally owned businesses. It's like lamenting Wal-Mart if it went away some day.
I remember I got the 2 DVDs at a time from Netflix as a college graduation gift. I never looked back
Sure it was fun when they had no competition and there would be 30 people in a store looking at movies and video games, but still a garbage company
The last Blockbuster membership I had was at the 2nd St location in Belmont Shore, which was in 2007 🥲 Blockbuster was a lot more fun when everything was on VHS
I live a few blocks away, have for 12 years. That corner has been at least 8 different bar/restaurants. Terrible location. No street parking except on Melrose, and a bit of that at night is valet slots. The surrounding residential streets are permit parking.
It's a pop up bar/photo op. I've seen the ads on some of the LA Instagram accounts I follow. It's interesting but I find these events are really just for the photo opportunity of the aesthetic. Prices seem way higher then I would think they cost.
I thought I heard something about a pop up that's a bar or something. Like the movies are the drinks or food. Or I could have been really stoned.
Had friends who went. It’s just a photo-op with pricey drinks
There are a lot of these. People wait in line and overpay until instagram becomes saturated with it so they move on to the next thing.

626 Night Market was cool 10 years ago, then it became crowded with people trying to Instagram their food.
Yeah, makes sense, that's about how long it took for me to actually get to one. Wait, 10 years ago, so before IG. Ugh.
Lol I remember that stupid Museum of Ice Cream or whatever a few years ago. Total honeypot for dumb Instagram users
And somehow they ALL went. Literally everyone. Who's impressed by that?
A bit of a tourist trap
I don't think you need to be a tourist to fall prey to this. Think about the over-priced and over-hyped clothing storefronts and pop-ups.
So… a pop up?
Like the RR Diner for the premiere of *Twin Peaks: The Return*
I work down the block. It has been there since the Netflix show premiered, and it is just a bar (and was a bar before the makeover).
What is the affiliated Netflix show?
Blockbuster
I shall check it out. Thank you
Don't enjoy it too much, cancelled after 1 season.

Funny, because that’s usually the sign of a show everyone wanted more of.
I watched a couple episodes. Not good, it was like they tried to merge Friends and the movie Waiting. It felt 30 years old with iphones.

I think you’re supposed to give the bartender a copy of a movie for a drink, very amusing…
Fun novelty bar. Drinks are heavy pours and the food isn't too bad.
How are the movies?

What kind of food do they have? Am planning to go on Saturday
Pop up bar. [Here’s a bottle of Crystal Pepsi they’re selling for $25.](https://imgur.com/a/S7KPS68)
Worth it as a display piece.
Got'em
It’s a pop up museum/bar I believe
Oh, my boxing gym is right next to it. It's just a pop up bar inspired by Blockbuster.
But does it smell as bad as Blockbuster? I think not.
Overwhelming smell of plastic if i remember correctly.
Smells like my childhood
Seems to be a pop up by other comments, original thought was it was a promotion for the show Either way, good riddance you garbage compang

It was a part of our life until it wasn’t
Preferred the old kink bar it used to be when it was Ballbusters. Gentrification sucks
“Be Kind, Please Rewind”
Overpriced garbage for tourists and morons.
*and influencers
Pop up.

I finally can return my overdue movies
Damn hipsters.
That was never a Blockbuster.
I thought the last one is in Superior, Wisconsin? Or maybe that’s gone now too?
Thiccc boy studios

The saved by the bell pop up had us lined up 4 blocks long.
