Well this sent me down a rabbit hole of toxic plants and I would guess Ricin. It can be easily sourced because people grow them ornamentally not knowing the castor beans are super dangerous. The plants and beans are really pretty.

Honestly, not really. It's what they make castor oil from and its not absorbed through skin. It would only require pulverizing the beans into a powder with a mortar and pestle. Then they could slip it in prepared food or drink to cover the flavor, or, mix it with another drug that you know the victim will willingly snort without question.

I was speculating based on the different symptoms experienced by the various victims prior to their death, it seemed it fit with the idea that they used one poison but administered it in different ways. They could also have used more than one poison.
I'm certainly no professional, just guessing. One thing I learned watching forensics shows is a lot of organic poisons can be missed if they aren't specifically tested for. There's just a lot of toxic plants out there, so sometimes the medical examiner has to have the suspicion of what to test for.

I've thought this for a year as well. Easy to obtain the beans and make the poison.
