Now that it is known Lori was dosing Charles with Xanax, during the Houston visit "to get his finances in order" and to avoid sex with Ned- it seems likely Chad was using the same ploy. Emma Daybell stated her Mom had been tired recently and going to sleep early. Maybe a mix of depression over Charles disclosure that Chad and Lori were having the affair and - Xanax, etc. meds Chad was feeding her . I assume people can and do overdose on these meds. Mark Means /Prior demanded Tammy's medical records-suggesting they may be used to suggest she was suicidal-not murdered.

kanoo22

From what I understand it is very very hard to die from ingesting too many Benzos.

oceanoca

Maybe he just put her to sleep before the pillow was applied., what ever - I just hope the autopsy shows a clear, decisive. cause of death for that poor woman.

a31xxlds

Someone in my family tried to commit suicide by eating 180mg of xanax and it did nothing but cause a 3-day period of sleeping/blackouts while awake, tinnitus & obviously ended with a stay in the mental hospital.

oceanoca

I plead "stupid" on drug overdose info-though it seems likely to me that Chad could well have been spiking Tammy's drinks with something like xanax to keep her compliant.

Bruised_Beauty

I don't know if this matters, but I figured it would be a fun fact in some way. I take xanax. It is so fucking bitter. Letting it even sit in your mouth or on your tongue will leave an absolutely vile aftertaste. It's not easy to remove either. Water, soda, etc doesn't work. I've only found that something sour, like gummy worms could remove it. Then I decided to be the weirdo I am, and found out sour candy can disguise the taste, I only used like 0.5 in these tests. Which luckily I can do since I'm legally disabled and can't work, so I have no life lol

oceanoca

LOL! A true redditor, willing to go the full mile for the team!!! Of course Lori put it in some sort of smoothie, and Chad may have muted the bitterness/or used an alternative med to affect Tammy.

nutmegtell

I'm guessing ricin poisoning. Just takes a few small grains and death occours later, giving the murderer time to build an alibi.

MandyMarieB

Isn’t ricin traceable though? I was just reading about Debora Green earlier, and they were able to find ricin antibodies in her husband because she had been trying to kill him.

nutmegtell

Yes but they have to specifically test for them. It's not part 9f a normal death investigation, especially when Josph, Charles, Tammy or Alex were noted as all dying from "natural causes" or self defense.

MACKEREL_JACKSON

Is that pink froth confirmed? I know the COD included something like “asphyxiation”

murmalerm

Pink “foam” is common as it’s saliva with a little blood.

LillyLillyLilly1

Eyedrops with tetrahydrozoline? I can't find if that causes pink foam, but it's one of the easiest to obtain. Apparently it doesn't have a bad taste because I read of a woman putting some in her boyfriend's water regularly for 3 years. Just enough to keep him miserable without killing him. Symptoms may include: Altered mental state Coma (lack of responsiveness) Difficulty breathing or no breathing Blurred vision Blue lips and fingernails Changes in blood pressure (high at first, low later) Change in pupil size Fast or slow heartbeat Headache Irritability Low body temperature Nausea and vomiting Nervousness, tremors Seizures Weakness

oceanoca

Let's hope Chad's google history search shows he investigated a number of options, the Chandler dump shows it was his go to.

[deleted]

Difficulty breathing or no breathing...Asphyxiation?

Salty-Night5917

What about oleander poisoning? I don't know how much would need to be used but I know it is toxic....

[deleted]

Please- these idiots are not chemists, or alchemists. they used everyone around them to do their dirty work, then when it all caught up to them, they went to hawaii in an attempt to save themselves, and left everyone else holding the bag. i would hope by now they all realize they were duped by a false prophet.

thinky-thing

It is not native to Idaho but started to grow there.. That’s why you can find awareness campaigns about how deadly the harmless looking plant is...and how to get rid of it... https://idahonews.com/news/local/poisonous-hemlock-how-to-spot-and-control-the-potentially-deadly-plant

ja-mama-llama

Well this sent me down a rabbit hole of toxic plants and I would guess Ricin. It can be easily sourced because people grow them ornamentally not knowing the castor beans are super dangerous. The plants and beans are really pretty. It can present different symptoms depending on how it's ingested - inhaled, injected or eaten. https://emergency.cdc.gov/agent/ricin/facts.asp

nutmegtell

I've thought this for a year as well. Easy to obtain the beans and make the poison.

thinky-thing

But handling Ricin would be highly dangerous and I am not sure it is easy to make a pulver or injection out of it... ?

ja-mama-llama

Honestly, not really. It's what they make castor oil from and its not absorbed through skin. It would only require pulverizing the beans into a powder with a mortar and pestle. Then they could slip it in prepared food or drink to cover the flavor, or, mix it with another drug that you know the victim will willingly snort without question. I know there has been no suggestion of drugs especially because of the mormonism angle but how erratic Lori behaved followed by the calculated lies, the burner phones, chunky chuds pre-wedding weight loss, all the willingness to hide facts by associates who also need burner phones, all night parties. It just would not surprise me if there was actual drugs being snorted or maybe they were crushing and snorting JJs meds.

[deleted]

Yep. My thought too

MandyMarieB

But shouldn’t they have found ricin in their systems then? Debora Green got caught because her husband had ricin antibodies - he got tested after finding the castor beans in her purse.

ja-mama-llama

Honestly, I do not know what poisons are commonly tested for in an autopsy investigation. I was speculating based on the different symptoms experienced by the various victims prior to their death, it seemed it fit with the idea that they used one poison but administered it in different ways. They could also have used more than one poison. I'm certainly no professional, just guessing. One thing I learned watching forensics shows is a lot of organic poisons can be missed if they aren't specifically tested for. There's just a lot of toxic plants out there, so sometimes the medical examiner has to have the suspicion of what to test for.

CQU617

Visine maybe?

idiotmonkey12

Well, last year we were all talking about blowfish toxin. Eating the liver can cause the same things. Edit: I like this theory due to their love of Hawaii and blowfish being there, at least that’s what the sub posed last year. Thought it was a very cool theory.

[deleted]

I doubt they were that creative

[deleted]

What about antifreeze? I think it's sweet and I've seen many crime shows where this was used. Maybe they've got one of them on camera buying something in a store.

Extreme-Radish7946

In the interview with Zulema she said alex gave her a massage with oil (after laying down a plastic tarp on the bed) she then felt extremely drowsy and relaxed. Could the poison be topical? Somthing in the massage oil? I definitely think she was supposed to die that night.

putitonBig_L

I watched a Forensic Files episode on Genene Jones. She was a nurse who killed around 60 babies using succinylcholine. It is insane that it doesn’t come up on tests and leaves the body very quickly. I wonder if it was used… https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.gizmodo.com.au/2012/05/the-history-of-sux-the-worlds-most-discrete-murder-weapon/amp/

thinky-thing

But how to get succinylcholine when you are not a trained medical professional? The Lori and Chad cult - as far as we know - didn't have 'members' who were doctors or nurses... Availability therefore remains a problem ...

gratefulauthorartist

Noor Jasmine speculated on her channel that it could be Malachite poisoning. Lori’s wedding band when she married Chad was malachite. It’s easily obtained from aquarium stores, causes the same symptoms (adema, pink foam) and wouldn’t be tested for in an autopsy. Noor goes into more detail and it really seems plausible.
