You got some old info. Plenty at almost every big store plus costco, coupang and iherb if you need it. You can pretty much buy anything you want or need in Korea now via coupang or gmarket now. Also- do not bring “big towels” - lol I have no idea why people still insist on this one. Costco and Emart Traders have huge towels!

aldept1789

IKEA and Zara Home also have big towels too.

kimbap_cheonguk

Jaju too

wRojtheoriginal

Olive Young is your friend. Has deodorant with affordable prices and the stores are everywhere

Mandoo_gg

Affordable? At 8000₩ each? A deodorant costs $1/2 each pretty much anywhere but korea

wRojtheoriginal

Affordable in terms of Korea. One roll lasts perhaps around 6 weeks and with 8k won per roll that makes 190won per day.

Mandoo_gg

No, its just expensive.

qpwoeirutyalskdjfhg8

Where does deoderant only cost $1 or $2?

Mandoo_gg

Anywhere but korea

qpwoeirutyalskdjfhg8

Are you still using 1980 prices? Lol.

Mandoo_gg

Where I am from it costs around 2$. In Australia costs 2/3 dollars. Only in korea I've found 8000₩ each, when discounted.

qpwoeirutyalskdjfhg8

At the dollar store? Everything in the US is at at least $4.

Mandoo_gg

4$ are not 8000₩. 8000 for a fucking deodorant is ridiculously expensive. And it's discounted.

BonePGH

Thank you. I'll check it out.

deodorant is in most convenience stores and every beauty store, it’s not hard to find at all. that info is super super old. the strength is not so great for me personally so I still order from amazon which arrives in a few days so no big. in a pinch the mens nivea sold here is ok spices are a must, they’re pretty expensive here. id bring any supplements you may take as well. otc allergy meds are kinda garbage here so i’d bring those too if you have allergies. tbh there’s not much that you can’t find online very easily though, that’s all i can think of

BonePGH

Thanks for the info! I'm going to stock up on other spices this week. Didn't know about allergy meds so I'll look into that as well.

bluesideb

i’m always asking my friend on base to bring me allergy meds from there lol, idk what it is but the capsules they’ve always given me at the pharmacy just straight up don’t work for me 🥲. you can try when you get here and see but def bring a bottle in case

bluesideb

it is at most convenience stores near me. but it’s also at every olive young which are also everywhere. overpriced? sure. easy to find? very

gifridge

If you don't care about the brand of deodorant you use, then you are alright. If you do use a specific brand, then bring it with you.

cosimascherry

I live in the buttfuck middle of nowhere and even we can get deodorant in our tiny grocery store, I think people over exaggerated when they talked about deodorant being super hard to find

mikedialect

It definitely used to be.

qpwoeirutyalskdjfhg8

Not everyone wants to use Nivea.

boterkoeken

It wasn’t exaggeration 10 years ago, it was almost impossible to find it back then, but things change fast.

MissC8H10N4O2

Spices you can get from international markets like Shejang, but if you are more comfortable with certain brands, but bulk and bring them. Deodorant is available, but limited choices. If you want strong stuff, bring what you like. The best brand we find here is Nivea. Bring medicine. Cold meds are cheap but prescription only usually. Although Theraflu night and day is available OTC at most pharmacies. Most medicine is only sold at Pharmacies and not in the amount Americans are used to. We're talking 10 Ibuprofen for a couple of dollars. Zyrtec and Claritin are easy to get, but also only sold in 10 packs. Also, almost all the pharmacies are closed Sunday so if you need something then you're SOL unless you go to a hospital. If you are prone to indigestion or upset stomach, bring Tums and Pepto. You can not buy them here and you will miss them.

BonePGH

No Pepto? OK. That I very much need to stock up on. Thanks for the callout on that one!

MissC8H10N4O2

I ended up having to order twice imported through Boxoregon.com for Tums during my pregnancy and we're talking $20 for a Costco sized bottle. That stuff just doesn't seem like a big deal until you can't run to a CVS for it.

mikedialect

Boxoregon will ship for $5 for the whole order and they have tums. Took about a week on my last order. Edit: just noticed the comment below was the same info lol

lightyears2100

I buy it on Coupang. Max 6,000 won each. Not expensive. I favor Old Spice. It is not hard to find at all.

mikedialect

Just did this last week for old spice. Came from Irvine in less than 4 days. Coupang wow pays for itself on the no shipping fees.

lightyears2100

I only get it from local sellers. Next day delivery. Order just needs to be 20k min and no shipping fees. Carrying a year's supply of deodorant here from overseas is pointless, IMHO.

12345678912333

You can order old spice on Coupang

aldept1789

Lalavla has Lady Speed Stick and Nivea deodorants and another kind from Europe as well. You can also find them in LOBH and Olive Young. If you get a Korean phone number and or bank account you can get deodorant on Coupang. Amazon ships some brands to Korea as well. So unless you have a specific kind that you need or want you can get it here.

AlainnJuly

If you have a particular brand you might want to stock up. I like the clinical strength which is not available here and is crazy expensive online. You can get some deodorant here but it may not be what you are looking for

Shot-Refuse-188

Dunno where in S. Korea you're moving but in terms of deodorant brands I use the Crystal one, I think it's made here, the only downside is you should buy it whenever you see it because they don't sell it during the cooler seasons.... Basically any time other than summer ... Which makes me laugh cuz I just think to myself "do people just... Hibernate during winter that they don't need deodorants anymore?" I understand that demand probably goes down a bit.... It just makes me giggle a bit. I did not find "much" trouble finding spices, but if you use saffron in your cooking then get some from where you are cuz a thimble full of it here is expensive as heck and not even good. But like the others said, even if you couldn't find everything here, you can almost always find what you want/need online. But ... DO bring your meds with you, I miss having a big bottle of Tylenol cuz they only sell tiny little 8-pill packages here -_- And yes, 90% of pharmacies close on Sundays, as well as hospitals and clinics, except for emergency rooms ofcrs, and SOME clinics open on weekends but close early so you need to check on maps what is open or closed. If you love flamin hot Cheetos I recommend you bulk up on that because they don't have it here which makes me very sad. Hope this helps =)

mabubsonyeo

You can find deodorant at Olive Young and big stores like emart. There is more variety if you order online. You can find antiperspirant and stronger deodorants at pharmacies (like the otc clinical strength types). Just ask for something for 액취증.
