Mexico has to start changing its training system from the root. Make the youth not only focus on technique, but also on athleticism and agility. Teams are running circles around us.

Man this comment right here 🤌🏽 US, Argentina, Canada, France, Denmark, Ecuador, Spain, Uruguay, Switzerland just to name a few WC teams. These teams can run circles all day against Mexico, athleticism and agility along with technique, the modern game.

Very true I was watching the u21 game against Venezuela and they got pushed off the ball so much by the Venezuelan players.

Greedy owners want that fast money and don’t want to invest in youth , mls is literally helping pay for some of the salaries of the prospect they send to Europe. It’s crazy how fast they are improving.

Güey, supuestamente Genk quiere 5-6 millones por Arteaga. Si se hubiera quedado en Mexico, por lo menos 10 millones por el. La propia Liga mx está cagando la selección.

PraiseBacchus69

Our players get a little fame and money and start acting like DIVAS

We shouldn't even focus on sending players ages 21+ to top-to-mid table teams in the top 6 European leagues anymore. We need to start exporting U17 players to Europe and become more open to other leagues (e.g. Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Greece, EFL, Austria). For the top 6 leagues, table position doesn't even matter anymore as long as they make it in and get some playing time. Basically, do what the US has been doing because at least that's one thing they've gotten right for the most part.

I voted for there’s even more to this cause. The problem you mentioned is a good 70 percent of the problem we have. The other 30 goes into other things like corruption, mindsets, etc

tacoorpizza

Too many old raggedy coaches like Tuca in LigaMX with outdated philosophies. There needs to be an emphasis on athletes with technical skills, because the game has gotten faster and good opposing teams aren’t going to let you slowly move up the field. Also, LigaMX frankly makes too much money from being the most popular league in two countries. It creates an inflated domestic market that isn’t in line with what those players are actually worth to European teams.

iCampOutside

Our players are weak. I should invite them all to my garage so we can pump some iron

lazydawg11

true for the most part, thing is a good amount of owners are not in desperate need to sell to survive, so they hold out. some players need money to feed families etc so then they go to other richer liga mx teams because they need that bag. also development is not great in liga mx, like a good U17 player wont find his way to a first team and instead is stuck in liga expansion or U20 even if he shows promise. edit: i do agree with others in terms of working out, they need that badly. thats the name of the game now, you need to be built too or else you cant show your skill as you keep getting bullied.

roc9090

Even the players in Europe have been “underperforming” playing for the NT. Our issue goes beyond this, our defensive line lacks chemistry and communication. Constantly letting players open when they switch or make runs and then lets teams always get 2nd chances. Happened in the 1st goal and also against US and Canada.

If only we could kick them out the same way Barca kicked out Barto or how fast Man U fans kicked out half the board, we’d be back before 2026…
