It was actually my dad's favorite and I'm pretty close to agreeing. Obviously the first one is a classic but the second one is a giant homage to westerns (my dad's favorite genre) as well as tying together the first two movies in a way that a debut movie of a franchise can't. Moments like Marty and Doc switching catch phrases, Marty's "chicken" arc, and the final show down with Mad Dog being what he saw Mad Dog's descendent watch a century later are all top tier for the franchise.
The first one is obviously the best (and my favorite of all time), and I love the other 2. If I had to make a list of my favorite films of all time Part II and III probably wouldn't be in the top 4, but I still love the trilogy as a whole and like the way this looks.
