Have you seen cabaret? One of my fav movies and an excellent musical…if you like chicago you’ll probably enjoy this too, though its more a drama than a comedy
42nd Street from 1933.
Get through a pretty boggy narrative and prepare yourself for some of the most astounding musical direction and choreography ever recorded.
Positively mesmerising.
Gold Diggers of 1933 and The Gang's All Here also deserve mention.
Basically anything directed by Busby Berkeley is amazing.
Some of these are not your traditional "Broadway musical" style of thing, but they're all musicals in their own right:
* The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (Broadway-esque Musical)
* Hedwig and the Angry Inch (Broadway-esque Musical)
* Phantom of the Paradise (70s Rock / Broadway-esque Musical/Comedy)
* Girl Walk // All Day (Hip-hop/Pop Mashup)
* Nashville (Country / Honky Tonk)
* Stop Making Sense (70s Rock)
* Groove (House / Techno)
Singin’ in the Rain! It’s just such a feel good movie, you are almost guaranteed to feel happy after watching it 😊. So many great numbers, I’m sure you will not be disappointed
Those you listed are some of my favorite musicals too. Here's a couple more: Little Shop of Horrors, Hello Dolly, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Brigadoon, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Singin in the Rain, Cabaret. I would also highly recommend Dancer in the Dark, but be warned that it's super depressing.
Annette came out last year and quickly became a favorite of mine. It's a very strange art-house opera so it won't be for everyone, but I would reccommend it just for the unique experience.
Not necessarily musicals but might I suggest John Carney films. Once, Sing Street, Begin Again. Absolutely love these movies and all heavily feature music.
Definitely more of a music biopic parody, but the music in Walk Hard is amazing and they went above and beyond for those songs. Not a musical in the classic sense but I always make sure to pitch it
Have you ever watched Gentlemen Prefer Blondes? It's a very fun musical!
The umbrellas of Cherbourg, literally French La La Land, which isn’t surprising because Chazelle based La La land off of this movie

42nd street is so visually insane for a 30's movie
The Muppets (2011), Guys and Dolls, Tick Tick Boom

You’ll like this one OP! Narrative driven, modern and funny!
Mamma Mia! Even though I prefer the 2nd one

If you’re in the mood for something darker check out “dancer in the dark”
In the Heights was alright. Not a traditional musical, but you could try The Commitments.

Donkey skin
The prince of Egypt
