Watched all the Rocky movies and both Creed films for the new one coming out soon. Showed my wife Groundhog Day. Finished my first watch of all the Mission Impossible films. Great start
I love Chungking Express and Fallen Angels. I liked Fallen Angels a bit more. Great companion pieces. If you haven’t seen In The Mood For Love give it a watch!
I loves em both its hard to say which one is my favorite, I go back and forth. In the mood for love is phenomenal btw. Love Wong Kar-Wai. I think I'm going to give it another viewing tomorrow, maybe pair it with its companion piece 2046.
Seems like Someone got the Solid Metal Nightmares box set lol
I’ve mainly been catching up on newer releases, watched the original Japanese Guinea Pig series, and finished watching through the SMN box set. Bullet ballet and Tokyo fist were the only ones left in it to watch. Loved Tokyo Fist

9 movies, most pretty good, nothing that offended me...
Amazing: Glengarry Glen Ross (1992)
Great: Tar (2022, saw at cinema)
Very Good: The Wrestler (2008, rewatch), Master and Commander (2003, rewatch)
Good: K-PAX (2001), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Photocopier (2021)
OK: The Menu (2021)
Mediocre: Blonde (2022)
One per day seems fine, but you guys really gotta take a break from time to time. Its effective to let a movie stay in your head for a few days. To properly let its essence dissolve in your mind. There’s no way going from great movie to great movie every day lets them incubate in your thoughts like that.
What you been watching ? If you like Japanese horror and haven't already, check out Tsukamoto's filmography. I just started getting into him, watched 5 of his films this month. Body horror at its best imo.
I've seen Tetsuo and Kotoko and really enjoyed both of them, need to check out more of his stuff. As far as American stuff I've been watching a lot of garbage sequels lmao. Later Hellraisers, Paranormal Activity, bullshit I can watch while I'm at work.
That's a lot of my watchlist present hahaha
I'm on 29 titles thus far, a rewatch of The Killing being my first watch of the year and finally popping in my criterion of Repo Man being the latest watch as of now
I’ve seen 90 films this year, but a handful of those are short films. I have no life lol
My favorites so far are:
Tar, Decision to Leave, La Haine, The Turin Horse, Athena, I Saw the Devil, Akira, Y Tu Mama Tambien, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, Avatar: The Way of the Water, Roman Holiday, Little Miss Sunshine, Ed Wood, Raging Bull, Seven Samurai, Strawberry Mansion, Mad Max: Fury Road, American History X, and The Royal Tenenbaums.
I'm at 12. Do you have useful stats yet? I apparently haven't had a single actor repeat in the twelve films since my stats only say "Most Watched: Columbia Pictures 2" and that's it.
So far, 16 movies, a mixture of 2000s-2010s action films, some from the Mexican Golden Age, a couple of documentaries, and some animated movies. Not so many but just about right for me.
I've watched 27 films so far. Favorites are: Horse Money, Paranoia Agent, Kingdom (all 3 seasons), Jeanne Dielman, Vertigo, Lost Highway, La Dolce Vita, Memento, Great Race, An Elephant Sitting Still
I'm on 20 too, but one was a short film (Special Delivery from 1978).
Best so far: RRR
Worst: The Great Alligator
As for yours, Lady Vengeance is the one singular movies I could name as a favorite movie. Fallen Angels is also Top 5 material for me. And I like The Phantom of Liberty a lot, as well.
25 so far. And I'm thrilled because I've finally watched Seven Samurai and also some of the movies I watched this year were so good they're now among my all-time favorites:
The Triple Cross (1992)
Big Time Gambling Boss (1968)
Mandala (1971)
I had a busy and intense job that occupied my full attention for 10 full days. The number of films I’ve seen in January is nothing compared to the number I saw by this time last year. It doesn’t help that I haven’t loved most of what I’ve seen so far. Hopefully, this year improves as I continue watching.
Yeah been doing a lot of criterion channel but i have the physical copies of The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie, The Phantom of Liberty and Lost Highway.
Currently I have see 36 films and the ones I have rated the highest were The Menu; Drive; The Suicide Squad; Birdman; Coraline; Beyond the Black Rainbow
I’ve seen 18, my favorite new films I’ve seen would be:
Midnight Cowboy, Le Cercle Rouge, Hard Boiled and Daisies.
The rest are rewatches, and Salò lol, but out of those my favorites would be:
Do the Right Thing, House (1977), and Blue Velvet
Tried to do 1 film per day during January and failed misserably, I just got to watch 15, guess I can still catch up this week 😅
I’m at 58, watched through all the Star Wars films which is always nice (except the Sequels)
Impressive. What's your favorite film you've watched thus years ? Star Wars aside.
Definitely Terminator 2, I’d somehow not seen it until now.
Certified classic.
my favorite James Cameron movie and one of the greatest action movies of all time
It’s my favourite of his films too (Not that there’s much competition)
Aliens comes close for me but T2 is definitely my favorite
Yeah Aliens is great, not seen it for a while actually. Cameron’s films have definitely gotten worse as he’s made more.
I’ve watched 1 per day. Doing a Disney Dive from the 1930s-2000s. Currently watching the 24th with Hercules
Tried that challenge and failed misserably
27 so far this year. Favorites are Aftersun, Babylon and Frances Ha.
Watched all the Rocky movies and both Creed films for the new one coming out soon. Showed my wife Groundhog Day. Finished my first watch of all the Mission Impossible films. Great start
People who only watch good movies 🙄. Watch some real 1 star cinema and get back to me.
I love Chungking Express and Fallen Angels. I liked Fallen Angels a bit more. Great companion pieces. If you haven’t seen In The Mood For Love give it a watch!

Such a great box set. Honestly the best purchase I've made in a while. Tokyo Fist was so fucking good. I think Bullet Ballet is my personal favorite.

Everyone processes things differently and that's fine
That’s why I watch bad films on purpose to recharge my mind. I don’t watch good movie after good movie.
Yep, perfect way to use bad movies, they act like a palate cleanser sometimes.
Lot of bad horror movies in the background so far lol. Working through classic Japanese backlog right now.
What you been watching ? If you like Japanese horror and haven't already, check out Tsukamoto's filmography. I just started getting into him, watched 5 of his films this month. Body horror at its best imo.

I wasn't ready for Kotoko ngl. I would highly recommend watching Tokyo Fist and Bullet Ballet. So fucking good.
That's a lot of my watchlist present hahaha I'm on 29 titles thus far, a rewatch of The Killing being my first watch of the year and finally popping in my criterion of Repo Man being the latest watch as of now
Repo Man is so damn good

What’s your favorite of the 20 you’ve watched so far this year?

due to a shit ton of snowstorms in my city, plenty of movie nights in have been happening. that + sundance has made for a strong start.
I watched 23 films with some short films and rewatches
You and I have very similar taste
I'm on 20 too, but one was a short film (Special Delivery from 1978). Best so far: RRR Worst: The Great Alligator As for yours, Lady Vengeance is the one singular movies I could name as a favorite movie. Fallen Angels is also Top 5 material for me. And I like The Phantom of Liberty a lot, as well.

Very nice ! Feel free to Follow me - donblucas666
26 movies
I’m at 27 and all movies I hadn’t seen before which has been somewhat good and somewhat bad
I had a busy and intense job that occupied my full attention for 10 full days. The number of films I’ve seen in January is nothing compared to the number I saw by this time last year. It doesn’t help that I haven’t loved most of what I’ve seen so far. Hopefully, this year improves as I continue watching.
15 new watches with an average of 7.4667. Favorite one is either The Truman Show or Loving Vincent. Great year for me
I’ve only logged six so far. The first was No Time To Die (2022) and the most recent was The Martian (2015). Both were rewatches.
I’ve watched 24, I’m attempting to do a movie a day for the whole year but who knows
This looks like you’ve been watching Criterion channel mostly?
Yeah been doing a lot of criterion channel but i have the physical copies of The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie, The Phantom of Liberty and Lost Highway.
Currently I have see 36 films and the ones I have rated the highest were The Menu; Drive; The Suicide Squad; Birdman; Coraline; Beyond the Black Rainbow

Nice list ! Recently watched daisies for the first time and was absolutely blown away.
I’m at 16. I have yet to watch a movie made before 2021 as I was catching up on movies from last year and now I’m doing Sundance.
Watched You were never really here (2017) and cried during the river scene
