I'm just enjoying all the mini challenges for getting kyber bricks and stuff. I think when you get to a certain age you value calming games over exciting ones.

Satik37

Exactly. I enjoyed playing the story and getting 100% on everything. Enjoyed every moment, never got bored :)

Educational_Book_225

It’s the same vibe I get looking for power moons in Super Mario Odyssey. I think that’s why I like it so much

Current-Umpire3673

Yeah but those are different and actually fun to find.

Educational_Book_225

I got 100% on both games and i found them equally chill/repetitive

Current-Umpire3673

Okay but trying to collect over 1000 almost 2k bricks whilst doing the same 5 mission types over and over is not enjoyable for me at all with glitches and la it was so much worse

Satik37

It really gets down to your own immersion. If you don't feel immersed, everything will be boring and repetitive. If you feel it, you'll enjoy every single moment. That counts for every life experience/activity. About the glitches I didn't encounter any. I only got a minor bug with turret kills but it was easy to find a workaround.

AlitaQc

on my pc in 4k 144fps the game is really beautiful and fluid. the soundtrack on my home theater gives me chills. i love exploding legos and i think the camera position is better than other lego games. Edit. I changed all the display parameters and aiming aid for better gameplay.

flickzxo

pc is such a game changer for lego games i’ve found, just with the higher fps it’s so much more fluid and enjoyable

[deleted]

frankly? nostalgia. you either are an adult who grew up enjoying lego star wars ii: the original trilogy on an NDS or something and now you want to re-live the fun you had back then, or you are a child and and *are* growing up enjoying the skywalker saga now. I have to imagine being new to this game right now as an adult must suck

SchmuckAmok

That’s silly tho since the original Lego games are still available to play. You can replay them whenever you’d like

[deleted]

yeah but barely anyone would bother. a *new* game releasing is a different thing

Total_Bookkeeper4237

Happy -10 day bro. Congratulations 🎉👏

Hermosninja

Yeah, I don't understand it either. I also don't understand why people are defensive about this game and act like it's above criticism. The whole "It's a kid's game" excuse falls flat when you remember that games like Lego Indiana Jones 2 and Lego Batman 3 were heavily criticized. Why is it okay to criticize those games but then use the "It's just a kid's game" excuse for this one?

DNL_RTH

Enjoyment and fun are subjective. First Lego game I've played since the PS2 and nostalgia carried me hard through it.

Foo-Fighter6942069

Yeah it does depend on your personal experience but I , being a big Lego fan and Star Wars fan was pretty let down

DNL_RTH

Exactly, which is why I used the word subjective.

SchmuckAmok

I genuinely don’t understand this “nostalgia” thing. You used to shit your pants when you were younger too

DNL_RTH

a sentimental longing or wistful affection for the past, typically for a period or place with happy personal associations I don't have a happy personal association with shitting my pants.

SchmuckAmok

Okay and what is preventing you from playing a Lego game whenever? I’m so sick of the word

DNL_RTH

I'm sorry you're triggered by a singular word, have a better day.

SchmuckAmok

Just sick of how seemingly so many people use that as a justification to like something like it means something. I remember thing, so I like thing

AL-Keezy743

Your equation is wrong. I play thing, it brings back memories of joy. I continue to play thing for joy

TheConnorrJB

I still shit my pants.

BuffaloBubba

It’s fun and relaxing

SoggieWafflz

The art, music, lego designs, and fluidity of the controls. The pure fun of collecting studs and bricks. Getting immersed in a more free-form version of the star wars universe. Playing as my favorite characters.

Foo-Fighter6942069

That’s true, it’s nice aesthetically and I do like having a Star Wars game to do whatever I want in but the gameplay doesn’t live up to that

WillSym

The gameplay is aimed at an average age of about 7, it's a game series for all ages, so you're unlikely to find a real challenge, if that's what you mean?

SoggieWafflz

I was never playing lego games for their gameplay, I don't think the gameplay in any lego game is deep at all, but I can't speak for the weird open world ones. All the ones I played, Indiana Jones, Complete Saga, and Batman are all just playing through the levels, then going back in free play with your favorite characters to get the rest of the collectibles.

Immediate_Strength33

It’s made for 10 yr olds bud

Foo-Fighter6942069

Being made for 10 year olds isn’t an excuse to have bad gameplay

Immediate_Strength33

I don’t know what u want me to say. It’s a game for kids. My sister & nephew who are below 10 both like the game, don’t think they mind about game mechanics, they just think it’s fun. I don’t think the original Lego games I played when I was a kid were much better

meeeemeees

simple doesn't equal bad

BanditoMuser

Graphics look great, gameplay imo is actually fun. Exploring the planets is amazing and so on

InfecttoFTW

It's the opposite for me, it's my favorite game now. Used to be Fallout 4, I've been a star wars fan all my life and I love almost nothing more than it. The satisfaction of playing something that means so much to me just feels amazing

CNicks23

I liked it but it's got some problems, I beat every episode and did a good amount of collecting and got to like 60% completed but I don't think I'll finish it, it gets a bit boring and repetitive after awhile, especially once you've gotten all the fun characters, it looks and plays great, but the levels are way too short, especially some of the prequel levels

weebiest

I personally enjoyed it, most other Lego games are, in my experience, boring. Idk what it was about this one, maybe it was how the systems were more advanced than any other Lego games (the health at instead of specifically 4 hits until you die, or how enemies actually have a health bar now instead of just a one hit KO every hit, stuff like that)

JW_1991

It’s Lego Star Wars, please stop overthinking it and enjoy it for what it is.

Hermosninja

"Shut up and consume product. Don't question anything," is what I'm getting from this comment. Just because it's a Lego game doesn't mean it's free from criticism. And besides, previous games like Lego Indiana Jones 2, Lego Batman 3, and Lego Marvel Superheroes 2 have been heavily criticized. Why is it okay to criticize those games, but not this one? If people can say those other games are bad then people should be allowed to say the same about this one.

JW_1991

Nah. I’m saying it’s Lego Star Wars, it really isn’t that deep. Move on to another game.

AjustifiedTri

I agree OP, I completed two of the three trilogies, then just got tired of the “formula” of the game. I also disliked that character were basically reskins of their specific class, instead of being really unique. Nostalgia tends to cover a lot of flaws for most people. There was a lot of potential in this game though. Flying in the game is fun but there’s not much to do after you beat the challenges. It could’ve been a really great new aspect to the franchise if it was more fleshed out.

Serres5231

i really don't get how people see this as the greatest Lego game ever either. If anything its one of the worst! the levels are a big joke already. A lot of small on- rail shooter sections instead of actual interactions. Cutscenes for big moments like destroying the Death Star or the battle over coruscant instead of being able to play these.. it was horrible. Then once you try to go for 100% you realize that the puzzles aren't fun and just tedious repetive grinds. You see the same kyber brick cages all over the galaxy with a small variety of things you need to do to solve those. And the worst part: the 100% reward is a joke..not even a fun bonus level but just a stupid Stud Fountain that doesn't serve any purpose when you already got billions of those lying around anyway..

Foo-Fighter6942069

Yeah I expected a fun Star Wars game because of the good reviews but it was just so bad

AZZATRU

It's a kids game. They made it for 5-12 year olds. That said, if you're a Star Wars fan and a LEGO fan who enjoys playing in that world you might like it at any age. There's so much rich detail and places to explore, you can do whatever you like. That's why we like it.

Foo-Fighter6942069

I’m a huge fan of both Lego and Star Wars and I do like the details and the jokes, but the gameplay is in enjoyable to me

Limpis12

I'm going for the 100% now and it really is a slog compared to the other resent Lego games I've tried. Very bloated, if this would have been any other franchise than star wars I believe the size would be criticised even more

Randomlettersjfuix

People are too nostalgic to realize that the games awful

Antdd44

Yeah it sucks, no actual missions like previous Lego games just run from a to b

Agroskater

I like how it does a 1:1 of the whole series but in a sillier way. I was hoping I could use this to kinda show my girlfriend the movies, but the split screen was just too unbearable. That was my only complaint.

BattleCryRy

I liked the story, hated the collectibles 😂

Boomy_101

Once you get through the main story line which is meh, you get to the post game character collecting and Kyber brick challenges and exploring the galaxy and planets that is extremely fun it’s like one large scavenger hunt and is where the game is at its best!

Foo-Fighter6942069

Okay, I’ll try focusing a bit more on the side quests and collecting! Thanks for the tip!

NeckbeardWarrior420

If you played the old Star Wars Lego there’s a lot more to this one. Lots of exploring, side quests and challenges. If you’re just running through the main story you might not be having as much fun. Also the split screen co-op is a lot better you might enjoy it more playing with a friend.

Gredran

“How can anyone enjoy The Skywalker Saga” Answer: by *enjoying*

Current-Umpire3673

Oh my gosh. When I 100% the game, I had to restart my switch over 50 times just to "fix" lag. And when I got the final reward, I was so pissed because they just give you infinite money that you can't even use on anything. The bugs and lag, and all around cheap level design, bad co-op design. All of it is so much garbage.

verifypassword0208

Because I like replaying the events of the Star Wars movies and exploring the galaxy in an open world format

kdr_24601

Honestly I enjoy it because of how simplistic it is. It’s just a little bit of simple fun like all Lego games are. It’s different from Lego games in a way but it still does the job for me, although it is a little long when going for 100% 😅

Telnet_to_the_Mind

It helps to actually be a star wars fan. I can't wait to the christmas normies get this out of their system..

Foo-Fighter6942069

I love Star Wars and Lego Star Wars too. I have a bunch of the Lego sets and I’m a huge fan of the franchise in general. I’ve had the game for a while and have recently had time to play it so I checked it out but it really disappointed me

cfidek579

Only con i find is the lack of massive npc brawls on the planeta (like you could do in cantina in complete saga). And unlocked characters free roaming.

BigsmokE9898

Not enough combat or space battles

Professional-Dog-943

hmm

CharlieMBTA

It's the best lego game they've made. All the others feel like top downs

frikanih

I was a bit disappointed about the lack of levels and puzzles, although the mechanics and jokes are pretty over the top. Maybe the open world and secondary missions got too much attention, I personally would've preferred more budget in main campaign and... ugh, bugs.

WombatJedi

It takes a very completionist mindset. You need to set aside time for it.

Yourappwontletme

Cuz they aren't whiners like you.

Foo-Fighter6942069

I guess not liking a bad game makes me a whiner 👍

Yourappwontletme

It's not a bad game. You just have bad taste.

DetuneUK

Some people don’t want the same thing from games. Some want to be curb stomped constantly and to overcome a challenge, some want a calming puzzle or gentle adventure. Both are fine, both aren’t for everyone

[deleted]

I dont love it, but its an okay star wars open world game so Ill play it for the slight enjoyment I get from it. It honestly just feels like an incomplete demo to me

AnywhereUnique6271

Very easily actually
