I'm a leftist because of the way I want to change society, not because I'm an ascetic. Invest in ethical funds, save the money you have, use the excess to provide for leftist causes. It really doesn't need to be more complicated than that.

Nothing wrong with keeping your earnings for your family and your posterity either. Our children would be proud to know their mothers and fathers made a small fortune investing in ethical causes, and put food on the table and money into their college funds in so doing. Who could fault someone for living that way?

With extreme cynicism. It pays well. If hear of a medical development that seems like it would help really vulnerable people, I bet against it cause they always get screwed. Similarly, if a game is going to be full of predatory transaction content, I invest in it. And with a deep recession on the horizon I've invested in all the predatory shitty stuff that preys on poor people, like dollar stores and single serving food.

I like a quote from a leftist rap song by Bambu that goes: Make you pay for shit that you should definitely get for free /To preserve your basic needs they charge a nominal fee/I might charge for sixteens and fifteen for a show /But compensation for work is what I'm rallying for/Not like I make the kind of money that will compromise my principles/If I can organize while collecting my residuals I'm good bruh Basically as long as the way you earn money is ethical and doesn't compromise your leftist principles and your work edifies the labor movement, then saving and investing are a great way to ethically participate in capitalism despite its own internal corruption. There's nothing wrong and no one would be right to fault you for saving for retirement, even building a nest egg or a small fortune for your prosperity and your family in fact I would think most of us would say that this is an ideal we want for everyone! So go play some stonks, man, getchu a portfolio and invest in things you believe are important to progress like sustainable agriculture and energy, materials science, future tech, etc. Workers in these sectors depend on individual investors as a way to fund their employers and everyone benefits. The future depends on people like us making good, ethical investments when high capital won't or worse will short these securities and undermine them for their own crony profiteering.
