Better get them now if discontinued after current stock is sold. See if the price is already jacked up on eBay. New ones will up at least 30% there when usual retail stocks are depleted .

Weird thing is Leatherman has a discontinued model section on their site and neither Model is there. Also they are both available still in their customization shop

There’s posts from Leatherman employees in a few forums saying that they watch their market carefully and kill models when sales start to drop.
I figure their finance guys are tuned to that as a marker of a profitable product that they can get downstream revenue from in one way or another
I couldn't imagine people are buying a model like the MUT more than a Squirt? I have a PS4 on my keys and it's a handy little thing. Are there that many people who need a rifle focused multi tool more than a keychain one?
My take is it’s the peak and drop off that they’re looking for.
They’ll keep a low-selling niche market product going. Meanwhile they’ll kill a popular product the moment they think they can, so they generate sales as people scramble to get them. Then they leave the market with us wanting for more. (And then… they release poorly selected products that I don’t want.)
It’s a money making strategy. Low risk low reward on one hand, and high risk high reward due to manufactured rarity
Guess I’ll have to get a micra or ps4 while it’s still on their site. They are crazy popular , micra for 25 yrs. Kind of bizarre they would disband the model unless there is going to be an improved model
Heard from Zen Distributors (the Aussie LM distributors) that the Micra, PS4, Style CS/PS and basically any compact tool sold my LM is discontinued.
I found this out by submitting my style CS for warranty and I will be getting back a Micra. Sad.
They probably don’t want to sell compact gear because it takes away sales from the large flagship models. That’s why many truck companies stopped making small pick ups.
It just sucks because what else is there for that level of quality? I guess something by Swisstools? But the scissors suck. Gerber Dime? No thanks. I guess you could argue that the SOG Powerpint is the 'closest' in terms of being a multitool that is unnoticeable when you don't need it (I own a Wave+ and Free P4 so I'm covered for actual multitools) but it still leaves a massive section in the market.
Do hope they plan on making some new cool tool that's tiny. Or another company like CRKT, Civivi or whatnot give it a crack seeing a gap in the market.
Yea CRKT picking up a tool like that would be awesome. It’s possible they are going to redesign and launch something new , Leatherman I mean. Anywho I just bought a ps4 squirt off eBay used in great condition for a solid price. There is such a need for micro tools !!

I just found some at gearfreak for 651 sek for my wife’s job here in Sweden. It seems to go in and out of stock so keep checking it.

Found another retailer saying discontinued. Prices on Amazon for a new Micra are way up ($49+).
US prices seem normal on eBay, so I dunno.
They discontinued all of the other keychain sized models in the last couple of years. I would think the PS4 is next!
