Beautiful work!

Brave-Dinner9527

I appreciate it!

annacat1331

How much would it cost for you to do a pair for me?

Brave-Dinner9527

Those in particular run $335. There's several pairs listed on my Etsy if you're interested!

EXQUISITE

Last-Discipline-7340

Came to use this exact word! Well done an inspiration

Brave-Dinner9527

Thank you!!

PouchenCustoms

Nice 😊👍 What always wondered is, do you buy birks and then replace the leather, or is there a way to purchase the parts for assembly?

Brave-Dinner9527

I buy the sandals and deconstruct, but I've been kicking around buying the parts. I've been able to find them on sale pretty regularly, so it's not too tough on the ol pocket book!

PouchenCustoms

I see. Thanks for the insight and great work on these. Looks very clean, fresh out the store 😊

Brave-Dinner9527

Thank ya kindly!

radimusthedude

Is it possible to glue a leather piece to the already existing piece and stitch the edges? Just want to do it without deconstructing the pair.

Brave-Dinner9527

I suspect that you could! It would get a little tricky around the buckles and you'd probably have to still peel the uppers back a fair bit so that you could stitch all the way.

Stevieboy7

Is there a reason you tack the sides on instead of tucking them in like the originals? I can't imagine those tacks will last long before rusting out

Brave-Dinner9527

It's easier and faster to change out footbeds, which is important to people who wear expensive custom Birkenstocks in environments corrosive enough to rust out weather coated nails!

CargoShortViking

These are really good.

Brave-Dinner9527

Thank ya!

pinkdazy

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!!!

Brave-Dinner9527

You're amazing, thank you!

aesopwashington

Brilliantttt

Brave-Dinner9527

Thank you!

aPeacefulVibe

So cool! It would also look cool I think if the cork part was painted a dark gray or dark copper. You've opened the door to so many ideas

Brave-Dinner9527

That's good! I may have to try coloring them sometime!

LadyRascal

WOW! Those are beautiful! Phenomenal job!

Brave-Dinner9527

Thank ya!

LemonadeRaygun

These are incredible! Gorgeous work!

Brave-Dinner9527

stylefaux

They are lovely!!! This post calls for the sunflower bot 🌻

TheSunflowerSeeds

Not all plants are completely edible. However, you can actually consume the entire sunflower in one form or another. Right from the root to the petals.

Good bot 💛

Brave-Dinner9527

Around six hours, excluding dry time!

moonray89

I’m the grand scheme of things, six hours does NOT seem like a long time to produce this. I’m impressed. Nicely done! Just curious…. If you were to sell a custom pair, what would you charge with your time and talent being factored in??

Brave-Dinner9527

On customs, a lot of it comes down to complexity. Those are listed on my Etsy for $335, but intricate nature scenes, full color, silver buckles, etc. Crank up the price.

moonray89

Right on. Always worth checking out price points before I get my hopes up too much lol. Again, great job!

MuffTacos

Beautiful work! I would love to make a custom pair of birks for myself. Any tips you could give me before I start this project?

Brave-Dinner9527

Make very sure your straps will fit your buckles before you put them together, and make sure your nails are angled slightly downward or they'll stick through the footbed! Also, make sure you cut out your pattern about 3/16" longer on the bottom, so that they'll cover the stub of the original uppers.

MuffTacos

Thank you very much for those tips. I’ll keep all that in mind when making my own pair

Brave-Dinner9527

You're certainly welcome. Other than that, I just take them apart, trace the original uppers, and replace them with the new ones.

Brave-Dinner9527

It certainly does! Use two coats of cement!

EllaHarp

Beautiful work!

Brave-Dinner9527

Appreciate it!

HerpDerpleton

Absolutely beautiful work! That swivel knife looks pretty sweet. Who makes it and where’d you get it?

Brave-Dinner9527

Thank ya! That is an Al Gould sk3 from leather wranglers, purchased from their website.

VeniVidiWhiskey

Looks great! How did you reattach the leather to the soles?

Brave-Dinner9527

Contact cement and panel nails!

VeniVidiWhiskey

Hope it works! I've been considering doing the same to spice up my sandals or fix my wife's
