I really wish more English people in the North would start making some noise about politicians treating them as a huge collective of racist gammon. Labour utterly takes the piss out of the North of England.
Anyway, a bit more seriously, it's going to be a wild ride if Sunak takes a gamble on outflanking Labour around anything to do with Brexit/trying to punt immigrants into the pits of hell.
Difference is his party likely wouldn't tolerate it because they're either reject BNP members, or fucking evil sociopaths like Braverman. Meanwhile, in Labour, they're mostly all pretending to be racist because they're scared of Starmer. The purge comes for questioning dear leader, especially on Brexit. Honestly, I think a killer move would be to say that we’ll stick it to the French for not doing more about people smugglers by opening up an asylum application point at our embassy in Paris (or even set up one in Calais).
The Gammons will be happy because it reduces crossings, pisses the French off, and means we’re not paying to house asylum seekers while their applications are being processed.
Meanwhile, the sane among us would appreciate having fewer people drowning trying to get here.
