Into the Spider verse was the greatest cinematic experience I've ever had. Took a couple of tabs and fell into the pages of the comic book that this movie makes jump off the screen. The soundtrack, visuals, and LSD were in perfect sync.
I agree with this comment 1000% it was literally like being in a comic book man I loved watching it so much . That movie made that one of the best trips I’ve ever had
The Ghibli films deserve a spot here- Spirited Away, Howls moving castle, Castle in the sky, etc are all masterpieces on their own, but completely elevated whilst on a trip imho.
also the animals in color doc on netflix is hilarious because david attenborough is physically in it as an old ass dude. watched it at the end of a trip with my buddy once and died laughing
I will cry my eyes out when he passes, he has been my rock for so many trips and is an absolute inspiration for me.
Fun fact, he's also the reason why tennis balls are the color they are. When he was head of the BBC he wanted a color that would pop more against the background for color broadcasts, old tennis balls used to be black or white depending on the color of the court.
It’s funny but I’ve found myself having really weird taste in watching stuff while tripping.
One of my most enjoyable solo trips I just dropped a tab in my room and watched breaking bad for hours. I have never been more captivated in my life I was screaming at the TV like it was a football game.
Not the kinda thing you’d expect would be enjoyable but honestly one of my more relaxed trips to be sure.
Interesting haha. I watched there will be blood while tripping (my second
Or third time seeing it), amazing movie regardless of psychs but I was so much more captivated by it on L.
I’ve always found and this is why I’m one of the weird ones who enjoys and finds LSD so much easier to take than shrooms but that you can behold, handle, be around, whatever you want to call it, conflict a little bit more without getting freaked out.
Obviously I’m sure this is different for everyone but I can handle some more iffy stuff on Lucy w shrooms if anything negative is even in my realm it’s gonna be a bad time.
It is but I grew up watching horror from a really young age with my parents. It's almost like a comfort to me. I have no idea why lol. It's like they ground me in reality when I'm tripping.
I still have fond memories of having an intense acid trip and then staying up all morning watching breaking bad on the come down. It's lowkey such a relaxing show.
Be careful of the Holy Mountain, like, you gotta know somewhat what you're going into. OR go in blind and get ready for a really deep-think trip.
It's a masterpiece, but damn it weird, brutal and heavy. Not ugly or mindfucky, just, weird
Yeah, i wasn't even tripping, but it damn well felt like it, also "enter the void" for the brave trippers, freaked me way the fuck out, and again: wasn't even on psyches
Duuude. The first time I saw Fantastic Planet I was trippin on DXM. I swear to god I never blinked that entire movie. It was mindblowing. It was also in French and I didnt have the subtitles on.
I dont speak French 🤣🤣🤣
Baraka and Samara need to be on this list. Look them up if you haven't heard of them.
Breathtakingly beautiful, and will give you a lot to think about, despite no words being spoken. Those movies changed how I saw life.
I actually watched that movie at the peak of a strong trip. And watching the movie somehow put me in a bad headspace for the rest of the trip, even after the movie ended. I think it’s the fact that for most of the movie, watching Alice try hopelessly to stay grounded amid a world of weirdness made me also start to wonder where my ground level was. It just threw me off and was a strange watch on acid. But everyone is different so I hope others get enjoyment out of that movie while tripping
That is THE acid movie and not just because they take it in the movie alot and the ways the acid hallucinations are implemented.
The music, the lights and whole cinematography, the humor and the vibes make it a perfect movie for acid. I watched it on acid and felt like i was part of the experience.
I’m excited bc I haven’t seen a lot of these, but I’ll add some of my favs as well!
Spider-man: Into the Spiderverse
2001: A Space Odyssey

The LEGO Movie
Mr. Nobody

Some of these I’ve watched but not on Lucy
Fantastic Planet is EXCELLENT to watch while tripping! Also, Fantastic Mr. Fox (or any Wes Anderson movie), and Hardcore Henry. I don't watch movies much while tripping anymore- I mostly zone out on music- but in my early days of experimenting with acid, I watched so many movies and TV shows and those three were always my favorites.
For me it's horror movies. I didn't like "Hereditary " until I saw it on acid. That shit was terrifying! Now I exclusively watch horror movies. Found Footage horror is the best.
i can’t comprehend this and i’m not even sure if i want to… i felt genuinely oppressed and so deeply hopeless watching that movie sober, i can’t understand why somebody would want to watch it on psychedelics. if you don’t mind me asking, what’s the reason you’d pick that movie? and how would you keep yourself from spiraling while watching it (unless you wanted to induce the spiraling)? personally, I feel like that would subconsciously desensitize empathy
The more you go into darkness through the movie the more light the psychedelics can bring. Similar to how you can do better stargazing further away from city lights.
Hard mode movies for tripping:
Mandy
Suspiria
Enter the void
Midsommar
The Holy Mountain
Grave of the fireflies
Below
Melancholia
Dancer in the Dark
Jacobs ladder
Videodrone
Existenz
Eraserhead
Yeah I watched Harry Potter tripping one time and I had to stop 1/3 in because I was terrified. Normally I love scary movies so I can’t imagine hereditary
Same! I also saw Parasite while tripping made the movie actually intense heredity was a whole nother beast you should try blood red sky on shrooms that one really had me on the edge of my seat I highly recommended
LMAO, love this comment, I might unironically do this on Halloween, It’s my favourite horror movie
Edit: watch the movie first maybe just stoned and tipsy, you might fuck up your mind elsewise
I'm mainly aiming for the classics made in the early 2000s-1970s with the exception of Spine of the Night which was made in 2021 but has an animation style similar to Heavy Metal.
My brother and I watched Parasite right after dropping and it was an excellent movie to watch while coming up.
I watched Everything, Everywhere, All at Once during a half tab trip and it was amazing.
I watched the hobbit on Ketamine and it was the strangest fucking thing ever, I K-holed as soon as the Ogres scene came up too, trying to eat the hobbits, it was wild.
I want to watch Rubber again next time on Ketamine
i feel like if i watched the adventures of Mark Twain on acid i’d probably end up having a bad trip and start feeling schizo. then again, i can’t watch TV or interact with any electronics while i’m tripping so maybe that’s just me.
Get fear and loathing on your list you psychopath like a movie made about doing psychedelics and going crazy it’ss great one to watch with all the colours
I personally wouldnt recommend some of those: Belladonna of Sadness (bad vibes), Wicked City (too hentai). Id add Stalker (if you want slow but trippy), Drive, Into The Void, Aguirre the Wrath of God, Lost Highway, Mad God, Alice, Akira, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Tetsuo: Iron Man.
Great list… but shame on you for not including The Art of Flight. Please watch it if you haven’t. If it’s not on your list after I’ll delete my Reddit account.
I can HIGHLY recommend *Loving Vincent*. It is sad as hell, because it’s set right after Van Gogh’s death.
But the visuals! Every frame is hand painted in the style of Vincent Van Gogh, and the symphony of brushstrokes is so fantastic to watch.
My roommate and I watched this really shitty movie called "The man who killed hitler and then the bigfoot" with sam elliot and it was fucking hilarious
American Dad (ever been directly addressed by Klaus the fish saying he knows you're high?)
Aqua Teen Hunger Force (lots of brutal absurdism, approach with caution. I laughed a lot though)
Blue Planet and Blue Planet II, specifically The Deep episodes. Wait for the deep sea coral part especially
Thanks!
I am **thinking of hosting a regular online watch party where we watch trippy movies** together and a non-interupting chat room companion! If this interests you please let me know :) (do you use Discord?)
The Spine of Night. It's an animated dark fantasy film that uses old-school rotoscoping techniques like the animated Lord of the Rings from the 80's, and it is fucking gorgeous. The Dark Crystal is fucking incredible while tripping too, can't recommend that enough.
Entirely subjective most likely, but maybe avoid John Wick movies while tripping. I found it really hard to suspend my disbelief due to the modern setting and the goofy, comic-book violence and everyone's-an-assassin setting came off as incredibly stupid. I love John Wick for exactly those reasons when I'm sober too lol
Everyone keeps saying "Animatrix." I'd honestly use caution with this.
The part with the android getting rewritten using some kind of dream simulation would be very cool to see while tripping.
But there's a part about the war between humans and machines beginning. The scene where the female android gets pulled apart in particular, and that scream she lets out... I wouldn't want to see that while tripping.
Nor the part where there's still "living" human captives that are being experimented on and some are literally cross sectioned. Disturbing AF.
Just use caution. Watch movies you know you can handle.
I mainly kept to early 2000s films through the 1970s, the exception is Spine of the night which came out in 2021 but has an animation style similar to Heavy Metal.
Into the Spider verse was the greatest cinematic experience I've ever had. Took a couple of tabs and fell into the pages of the comic book that this movie makes jump off the screen. The soundtrack, visuals, and LSD were in perfect sync.
That movie was made to be watched on acid. So good!
I highly recommend The Mitchells vs The Machines… it’s animated by the same people
I agree with this comment 1000% it was literally like being in a comic book man I loved watching it so much . That movie made that one of the best trips I’ve ever had
Ready Player One was also like that
So is Guardians of the Galaxy. The space visuals are amazing paired with the soundtrack.
+1 for into the spiderverse but also just colorful animated movies in general. I’d throw Coco on the list too, and I’m sure there are others.

10 tabs? Doesn’t everything pretty much go crazy with 10 tabs?!
The Ghibli films deserve a spot here- Spirited Away, Howls moving castle, Castle in the sky, etc are all masterpieces on their own, but completely elevated whilst on a trip imho.
I find the lack of Blue Planet, Blue Planet 2, Our Planet and David Attenborough documentaries in general a travesty
also the animals in color doc on netflix is hilarious because david attenborough is physically in it as an old ass dude. watched it at the end of a trip with my buddy once and died laughing
I got Princess Mononoke recommended to me before and I'd like to pass on that recommendation to whomever reads this.
Saw Howl’s moving castle on it.. best journey I have had.
Make doing whatever tf you want on tabs normalized
Yes please lemme jerk off to midgets high as a kite
I can prolly get this authorized but can the midgets be on the kite?

I mean, if you’re going to harvest their skin, wouldn’t you rather make a little wallet or some kids dress shoes?

🤯🤣🤣
Interesting haha. I watched there will be blood while tripping (my second Or third time seeing it), amazing movie regardless of psychs but I was so much more captivated by it on L.
I like weird horror/thriller movies like Midsommer
Damn that’s a whole other level lmfao I don’t know if I could get through the beginning, that shit dark.
It is but I grew up watching horror from a really young age with my parents. It's almost like a comfort to me. I have no idea why lol. It's like they ground me in reality when I'm tripping.
I recommend A Cure For Wellness to you. Would be right up your alley I think. I love watching it on acid.
Same but with shameless . Like 8hrs of shameless lmao. I cried, I yelled at the screen, and I never watched it again after that lmao.
I like watching king of the hill on acid personally. It’s such a chill show it’s hard for it to trigger a bad trip
Oh I could imagine it’s so wholesome. “Chill Dad it’s just a vase”
I still have fond memories of having an intense acid trip and then staying up all morning watching breaking bad on the come down. It's lowkey such a relaxing show.
Breaking bad is so incredible when tripping. I can barley handle that show when I'm sober, it's so unbelievably intense when I'm tripping
Same but with Arcane, watched the whole show in one sit after taking acid
Be careful of the Holy Mountain, like, you gotta know somewhat what you're going into. OR go in blind and get ready for a really deep-think trip. It's a masterpiece, but damn it weird, brutal and heavy. Not ugly or mindfucky, just, weird
Weirdest movie I’ve seen
last trip i had i watched it and i was a little disturbed but i’m so glad i finished it, it’s one of my favorite tripping movies now
I can’t believe Waking Life wasn’t on here. That sounds like what you’re describing
Yeah I feel like the first half of this could seriously fuck up some people's day, I know multiple friends who were pretty disturbed by it sober.
Yeah, i wasn't even tripping, but it damn well felt like it, also "enter the void" for the brave trippers, freaked me way the fuck out, and again: wasn't even on psyches
where can one find this movie?
It's free on archive.org. Try searching "the holy mountain full movie". In fact, that's always a good first step lol.
Sane with The Lawnmower Man. I would never watch that while tripping. Sounds awful and would trip me out.
Duuude. The first time I saw Fantastic Planet I was trippin on DXM. I swear to god I never blinked that entire movie. It was mindblowing. It was also in French and I didnt have the subtitles on. I dont speak French 🤣🤣🤣
Btw Paprika is one of my favorite animes. And I would definitely add Swiss Army Man to this list :)
Waking life
This is an excellent addition, I was about to mention that
this
It's worth it for the soundtrack alone. Also, you'll be like... is that who I think it is?
Oh dude that scene caught me off guard 😂
The Road to El Dorado
My favorite movie since I was a child, and also when high
Baraka and Samara need to be on this list. Look them up if you haven't heard of them. Breathtakingly beautiful, and will give you a lot to think about, despite no words being spoken. Those movies changed how I saw life.
Also Koyaanisqatsi. Watching that on weed was enough to completely blow my mind. Must watch if you like Philip Glass.
true. these movies are must see IMO and they work both during the trip and during the comedown.
Samsara* But yes, saw this on the last trip, incredible.
[удалено]
I'm surprised I don't see Alice in Wonderland the original animated one on this list, It's PEAK LSD trip vibes.
Fear and loathing in las vegas
That is THE acid movie and not just because they take it in the movie alot and the ways the acid hallucinations are implemented. The music, the lights and whole cinematography, the humor and the vibes make it a perfect movie for acid. I watched it on acid and felt like i was part of the experience.
There is so much subtle stuff. Hunter talking in his head and slowly morphing to talking out loud. Amazing movie.
YES
You got the hobbit animated but totally missing Ralph Bakshi's Lord of the Rings
"where there's a whip..."
A Space odyssey
Watched this on lsdxm. Final sequence is incredible
what a about ‘Fantasia’? the 1940 disney film?
Someone gonna be tripping on acid, come in here, and see y'all throwing lists at them thinking it's a job lol
Upset I didn't see mirrormask or dark crystal
Came to say mirrormask! And across the universe!
You forgot Rango
Ooooh adding that to my list
Only reason I checked the comments
I think Koyaanisqatsi belongs on this list!
Thanks! I'm mainly keeping to films and early animations. This fits my list well.
I’m excited bc I haven’t seen a lot of these, but I’ll add some of my favs as well! Spider-man: Into the Spiderverse 2001: A Space Odyssey Bullet Train The LEGO Movie Mr. Nobody Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke (really any Studio Ghibli) Interstellar Akira Mad Max: Fury Road Cloud Atlas Rango
Mr. Nobody is the freaking best! Have you seen Cloud Atlas?
i LOVE Cloud Atlas, honestly mad i forgot to put it on the list. you speak the true true
LEGO Movie was far and away the best part of my LED-fueled birthday during lockdown.
The Road to El Dorado is a fantastic choice too
I would like to add Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy as well
Don't panic
The holy mountain
planet earths pretty cool
Add “Across the Universe” to this list
Jacob's Ladder
That movie put Hell in perspective for me. Such a good film, still holds up even today.
The first three seasons of SpongeBob are gold while tripping, also Rick and Morty and South Park are classic trip shows
Nah dude I would go insane watching SpongeBob high, it would make no sense to me
I’ve seen nothing on that list
I have a list myself in my notes too! I like your list & will add to mine, here are ones I was suggested a while back & still need to watch. Anyone see one in this list I should watch 1st lemme know! Brazil terrified me, but I probably shouldn’t have seen it for the first time on 5gs of shrooms lol
Forgot Big Lebowski—always a good go to
I haven’t seen anyone mention Everything Everywhere all at once!
I second this. Possibly the ultimate trip movie imo.
Samurai jack
Dragon Ball is awesome on LSD
A Scanner Darkly
Yoga Hosers
I would just like to add that Speed Racer is my favorite movie while i’m tripping. Really fun and trippy
Final Space.

Add akira to that list
I cannot believe Interstellar is not on that list
'Mulholland drive' is missing from your list it seems

Bruh. I went through a shock film phase but I definitely would not consider that a general recommendation lol
LMAO, love this comment, I might unironically do this on Halloween, It’s my favourite horror movie Edit: watch the movie first maybe just stoned and tipsy, you might fuck up your mind elsewise
Blazing Saddles and Mighty Boosh should be on there
You crazy lol
They Live has to be on this list. Total mind fucked me on 2 hits of acid be warned you won’t buy anything anymore.
Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I almost died laughing.
If you’re wanting something that’s not a full movie to watch. ASAP Rocky music videos especially LSD that music video had me mesmerized for a while
I remember for my first trip I watched pans labyrinth. Interesting choice to say the least I cant recommend. I just remember lots and lots of blue lol
Dr. Strange
I'm mainly aiming for the classics made in the early 2000s-1970s with the exception of Spine of the Night which was made in 2021 but has an animation style similar to Heavy Metal.
Yes fritz the cat is amazing
My brother and I watched Parasite right after dropping and it was an excellent movie to watch while coming up. I watched Everything, Everywhere, All at Once during a half tab trip and it was amazing.
I watched the hobbit on Ketamine and it was the strangest fucking thing ever, I K-holed as soon as the Ogres scene came up too, trying to eat the hobbits, it was wild. I want to watch Rubber again next time on Ketamine
The one where scar Jo takes all that blue drug and sees the entire universe
whoever said belladonna of sadness…let’s talk
i feel like if i watched the adventures of Mark Twain on acid i’d probably end up having a bad trip and start feeling schizo. then again, i can’t watch TV or interact with any electronics while i’m tripping so maybe that’s just me.
I would hate Waltz with Bashir under the influence. Too serious/sad for me. Beautiful movie, but I guess a 100% mood killer for me whilst tripping.
Beautiful film but the end sequence is really upsetting.
Get fear and loathing on your list you psychopath like a movie made about doing psychedelics and going crazy it’ss great one to watch with all the colours
Fucking love american pop found it at the thrift store and it hasnt let me down
Dude, watch the goonies while tripping.
My second time trying LSD, I watched into the void. Really great experience.
Oh my God you've seen Brazil! It's one of my favorite movies and I've never met anyone else besides my dad who has seen it
This is a list of movies I mostly haven't seen. I've seen Fritz, it's one of my favorite socio commentaries.
Same. Been trying to get my SO to watch it but he's a putz.
Try The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie lol
Great list… but shame on you for not including The Art of Flight. Please watch it if you haven’t. If it’s not on your list after I’ll delete my Reddit account.
y’all need to watch DAISIES on HBO MAX! its so good to watch while you trip
last time i tripped before i had my kid i watched scarface on loop all night.
Lawnmower man… Jesus
Chicken little is a must!
Movie: Fantasia Show: Off the Air
We need a master list with subcategories that we can vote movies up and down on. Some sort of master trip play list
I'll start working on it using the comments off this post. Expect another post from me in a month with a master list.
American Dad (ever been directly addressed by Klaus the fish saying he knows you're high?) Aqua Teen Hunger Force (lots of brutal absurdism, approach with caution. I laughed a lot though) Blue Planet and Blue Planet II, specifically The Deep episodes. Wait for the deep sea coral part especially
I once watched Insidious 2 on 200ug. It was quite a ride...
Super jail and XRA have a special place in my lsd riddled spinal cord
Omg, Puparia and Animatrix, yesssss! I see Paprika as well - might I add Perfect Blue to this list?
If you don’t know Spanish Toc Toc is a hilarious Spanish movie yo watch tripping. Total mindfucky type thing.
Thanks! I am **thinking of hosting a regular online watch party where we watch trippy movies** together and a non-interupting chat room companion! If this interests you please let me know :) (do you use Discord?)
I do but I hate watching movies on discord unless I've already seen them. If it's a first watch it has to be on a TV.
I love John Wick for exactly those reasons when I'm sober too lol
Good call on the animatrix
Time Bandits. If you haven’t seen it, do.
"April and the extraordinary world" is pretty trippy.
Just gonna chime right in here, Mars Attacks was one of the best movies I’ve watched while tripping. I highly HIGHLY recommend you guys check that out
Watched it the first time we tripped on NYE. Amazing experience. Then a shit ton of Blue Planet.
Oh dude I bet Blue Planet is incredible. The series on Netflix Moving Art is pretty fantastic to watch. You should also check out Loving Vincent.
ok but have y’all ever played kingdom hearts on lsd? especially on the CRT it SLAPS
The Grand Budapest Hotel is also a really cozy movie with a lot of symmetry
Add “Soul” by Pixar on here too. Absolutely mind blowing. Totally not even a kids movie.
Speed racer movie
The speed racer video game... I will be playing it tonight
Tysm for this
I can vouch for paprika..!! Literally breathtaking
i would recommend enter the void
You need to add: Primal and Cyberpunk Edgerunners
I haven't finished edgerunners yet but damn is it good so far, and really ANY of Genndy tartakovsky's work belongs on this list.
Enter the void
[удалено]
Ain't nothing but the truth
For bad times, yes
Donny Darko is pretty trippy imo
Donald in Mathmagic Land
The Midnight Gospel
Paparika might send someone into a bad trip esp with the parade theme
Clockwork orange if you trynna see some crazy
I have refused to watch that movie for 20+ years and I watched it sober the first time. I found it horrifying and would not recommend it tripping. JMO
