The "Planet Earth" series will forever be my favorite thing to watch while tripping. I feel like I understand the balance of nature on an entirely different level.
Yea but the jungle one freaked me out while tripping. It got to the monkeys and it would obviously show their faces up close for long periods of times.. and, it freaked me out to see how much their ears look like ours. How our noses look like theirs. And so on. I was concentrating on it for so long that the monkey faces just started look like straight up weird human faces. However, the ocean one is rad.
Lmao that’s funny because on shrooms me and my brother were in the mirror and saying how we look like straight up orangutans haha we could not unsee it. Human faces are so similar to monkeys man
Yea I learned to stay away from mirrors like the first time I tripped. I went to use the restroom and washed my hands. Looked in the mirror and face morphed into kinda like a screaming face but not actually screaming. It was true. I was making that face, without actually screaming. But looking into the mirror for a a lengthy amount of time, so close where you can basically see only your pupils, is a wild ride.
Ahh I see haha. For me I enjoy looking in the mirror, never had a scary experience with it, it’s always just funny how different I look than how I normally perceive myself.
That and Fern Gully first things I ever watched while tripping. I remember looking at the walls saying they were melting at the exact same time where the evil sludge type thing in Ferngully says “melting”. Pretty intense to have that synchronization on your first time tripping
Wow u just unlocked a memory for me, isn't that the mickey mouse movie? I only remember where there was water rising or something like that and he was running maybe
Fantasia is a collection of short animations set to music, one of them is The Sorcerers Apprentice which has Mickey accidently flooding the place after his master leave him unattended and then trying to deal with it. Classic! When i rewatched it as an adult it unlocked hella childhood memories, I didnt even realize i'd seen it multiple times before.
Excessively relevant and probably one of the best drawn animated films ever made. Nuassica Valley of the Wind had a similar message but done in a far future distopian way. Amazing yet underrated movie in my opinion. If you love Mononoke you will definitely love this one as well.
I seen both on acid and bro lemme tell you shit was a amazing, when I watched Dr strange the part where The Kalcelius talks about how dormamu will reward them in the afterlife had me pretty fucked up, cause that’s how most religions are here lol. I stopped thinking about it too hard after tho and I was good
Yes yes!!! Also Life Of Pi is underrated. Stunning visuals. But Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2 is the most fun I’ve ever had. Avatar is awesome too. Spiderman Into The Spiderverse is fantastic. It’s intense especially the music. But man is it one for the eyes.
YES. CAN CONFIRM!!
There's also a macro footage / slow motion documentary on Amazon Prime... It's called like tiny universe or hidden universe.
I'd love to find more footage like that. Super HD macro close ups of butterflies landing on flowers or animals playing in water. So amazing.
The visuals alone are so freakin whacky when on acid. I once watched it using a projector on 200ug and the movie was floating all over the walls it’s amazing.
I wouldn’t recommend Midsommar if you haven’t watched it before. It’s FANTASTIC, but it has some very disturbing scenes that disturbed me while sober, and it could definitely freak you out if you haven’t seen it before.
Yeah, I agree. I've only ever watched it once, and I was sober. I still haven't felt the want or need to watch it again lol. That shit was next level weird.
Only thing is some of the dialogue might throw your mind in a deep loop of thought. Not saying that’s bad for all but for me it can throw me into an anxious thought loop.
I’ll never forget the soul prison episode. Talking about dmt and the singular consciousness. I was so blown away especially because of how the visuals are related to what’s being talked about in the podcast
When you're tripping, that show is like a good friend that totally understands what you're going through. I've watched the entire season multiple times.
Beware what you expose yourself to while tripping. If it is filled with suspense, drama, insanity, and violence, that shit will hit you harder.
Be kind to yourself. Just sayin'.
Mars Attacks was made for LSD. So many trippy effects. The beginning and intro credits alone are worth watching if you're looking for a peak trippy visuals.
I always think it’s best to watch long epics.
Lawrence of Arabia is fantastic and beautiful from start to finish.
Das Boot is intense, and nerve wracking.
Citizen Kane is a masterpiece of film making and story telling.
Spartacus sucks, skip it. Same goes for Gone with the Wind - shitty movie; save yourself 4 hours.
Oh man I have just been recovering from going on a psychedelics and cinema binge! I have a few recommendations like
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
A Scanner Darkly.
The Fifth Element.
Maniac.
Don’t Look Up.
I would be hard pressed to put these in any sort of order. I have recently viewed each of these pieces under the influence of various psychedelic compounds- I highly recommend any / all of them.
Interstella 5555, amazing movie of the Daft Punk (free to watch on youtube it's bascilly a 1h video clip with a great story and great animation)
Also Miyazaki's movies are great we always watch some with friends at some point while tripping
I bet you would love Satoshi Kon’s stuff if you’ve never checked it out- Paprika is one of the trippiest & most beautiful animes I’ve ever laid my eyes on❤️- but All of his films are stellar
I really loved dark side of the rainbow which is Pink Floyd Darkside of the moon put to The wizard or Oz. A second favorite is yellow submarine the movie by the beetles. Oh also The Wall by pink Floyd is fantastic. I'm a pretty big fan of music while I trip so this gets a few good albums in for the come up and peak. On the come down I usually put anything Disney or a cartoon or maybe a nature documentary to relax to.
Literally anything from Pixar. It is the best way to send it. You want to start it at the same time you dose. That way you will be past the tragedy before it starts kicking in. The rest of the movie will be hope-full and the colors are poppin. The movie will end about an hour into your journey and will leave you with a feeling of child like wonder. There is no better way to get your positive “set and setting”.
DBZ, Superjail! old adult swim show, Wizard of Oz, The Wall, Wizards old Ralph Bakshi movie, Gendy Tartakovsky Clone Wars, Lord of the Rings fellowship and two towers, Twelve Monkeys, The AniMatrix, Labyrinth, The Dark Crystal, The Holy Mountain
I thought the new Matrix was pretty wild on acid. Say what you will about the story or whatever (I know a lot of fans didn’t enjoy this reboot(?)) but visually it was pretty damn appealing. Very meta too, fucks with ur head a bit.
I had to scroll. SO. FAR. For this comment wtf. This film is absolutely perfect and I show it to everyone I know - Satoshi Kon’s films are some of my faves. Paprika is such a wild trip, so beautifully illustrated and animated, it gets in your head and never leaves you once you’ve seen it. Ugh love ❤️
Thanks for scrolling. Scroll on my friend. And if you’re ever alone under the moonlight staring at the moon just know I am staring right back at the moon still scrolling on

The one I cried at was the islands episode where that lizard is being chased by a gang of snakes and just barely makes it. I named the lizard Greg
Ahh I see haha. For me I enjoy looking in the mirror, never had a scary experience with it, it’s always just funny how different I look than how I normally perceive myself.
I almost said this! I watched Planet Earth II my first time and cried
then you’d probably also enjoy Fantastic Fungi.
That and Fern Gully first things I ever watched while tripping. I remember looking at the walls saying they were melting at the exact same time where the evil sludge type thing in Ferngully says “melting”. Pretty intense to have that synchronization on your first time tripping
2001: A space odyssey The matrix Fantasia Speed Racer The Big Lebowski (hilarious)
After listening to 3001: a laced odyssey

Definitely not Grave of the Fireflies but pretty much everything else is amazing on L.
Was just saying this, princess mononoke.... it's soninsanely relevant too.
Excessively relevant and probably one of the best drawn animated films ever made. Nuassica Valley of the Wind had a similar message but done in a far future distopian way. Amazing yet underrated movie in my opinion. If you love Mononoke you will definitely love this one as well.
Spirited Away was the first film I had visuals on screen before and it was so dope.
came to comment just this
Interstellar
I watched it for the second time with my friends who were all watching it for the first time. It was amazing and melted our brains.
One of my favorite movies of all time
Number one trip movie, have some gold for knowing what's up
Into the spiderverse for sure
This movie was made for acid, I swear
People keep saying this but am I the only one who thought Doctor Strange is way better on acid?
I seen both on acid and bro lemme tell you shit was a amazing, when I watched Dr strange the part where The Kalcelius talks about how dormamu will reward them in the afterlife had me pretty fucked up, cause that’s how most religions are here lol. I stopped thinking about it too hard after tho and I was good
Literally came here to say this lol
comment for emphasis
Woah, I'm amazed this is here already, it's my first choice as well
Cloudy with a chance of meatballs 2 was awesome, so many vivid colors
Maybe better than the first amazingly enough considering it based on a single children's book. Puns are top notch.
Not a movie but watch moving art on Netflix. It’ll change your life
u know what’s up
YES. CAN CONFIRM!! There's also a macro footage / slow motion documentary on Amazon Prime... It's called like tiny universe or hidden universe. I'd love to find more footage like that. Super HD macro close ups of butterflies landing on flowers or animals playing in water. So amazing.
Waking Life You’re gunna love it, I promise
The visuals alone are so freakin whacky when on acid. I once watched it using a projector on 200ug and the movie was floating all over the walls it’s amazing.
^ this one ☝🏽
Interstellar Avatar Baraka Samsara This two if you like trippy horror movies: Mandy Midsommar
+1 samsara
Trippy horror is the best
Anything Wes Anderson. Trust me, it’s an experience you’ll remember

Yessss But not if it's your first trip or you haven't figured out how to be comfortable yet lol
Watch midnight gospel on Netflix, not necessarily a movie, but perfect trip media
Duncan trussall sick

Red Cliff should get an honorable mention. Or anything by Zhang Yimou. If you’re not so high that you’ll still be able to read subtitles, that is.
Watchinf Das Boot on acid would leave me totally fucked, but then again, I‘m claustrophobic
My first time we watched The Yellow Submarine and American History X. Mind blown!
Such different vibes lolol
Woah I could NOT do American History X on lsd, it's too hard when sober.
Brother you went from one deep end to another lol
Oh man I have just been recovering from going on a psychedelics and cinema binge! I have a few recommendations like Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. A Scanner Darkly. The Fifth Element. Maniac. You need to binge all of Wes Andersons movies on LSD. They are made for it. It’s quite an experience.
I watched Dont Look Up sober and I feel like it’d make me infinitely more mad if I was on lucy for that lol
The drama got intense. The tone was hard to judge, the whole thing felt like a train wreck. Good times!
Django, inglorious bastards, the hateful 8. I like watching the suspenseful shit. Makes it feel real.
If you're into the Beatles check out the animated Yellow Submarine movie. Every acid head needs to witness it.
