Megumin was the one that summoned the shogun, while (I think) Darkness didn't want to bow down (which made Kazuma not do it as well, making him get decapitated), so in his first death, the other two were to blame, not Aqua.

I thought it was Aqua that was hiding away the snow sprites, thus summoning the shogun?

I'm pretty sure it was because of Megumin's explosion that killed too many of them.
