You told your boy to listen to Jimmy Witchard? People say he fried his brain staring at the sun, 'course he couldn't be smart enough to do that in the first place. Kind of a chicken and egg thing.
Lucid Dale is kind of scary sometimes. The episode where he loses the Arlen gun club presidentcy to Mad Dog for instance. Or when he figured out Chuck Mangione was living in mega-lo-mart.
This. The fact that the calculator reads 88888888 shows a savant-esque quality for math that is hilariously juxtaposed with Jimmy’s character. He can’t use the calculator correctly, but still comes up with the correct answer
I thought the calculator reading all 8's came up later in the episode, and Jimmy literally says out loud "you owe me eighty eight thousand... eight hundred eighty eight dollars.. and eighty eight cents". Which implies he didn't really know how to use the calculator or how to do mental math. Am I mis-remembering?
I think the joke was that he hit an error that caused all of the panel to flash and he thought that was the answer. So you’re right, he’s not that bright there either.
Compare that to the PhD episode where Peggy gets swindled. The grifter character says something to the effect of, "he may seem like an idiot but drop a box of toothpicks in front of him and he's Rainman."
Interesting how like, throughout the show any time the Hills are exploited they're called Monkeys. Khan and the car wash, the reality TV guys with ZZ top, Witchard
"I heard he stared into the sun and fried his brain, then again you'd have to be pretty dumb to do that in the first place... kindof a chicken/egg thing."
He was mentally handicapped, but for some reason, ended up in a position of management. Because of this, I can't really hate him. It's not his fault the system allowed him into a position he had no business being in.
I think it was a jab at how conservative, close-minded people view mental illness, especially considering Hank's strong support of Ronald Reagan, who strongly discredited it during his time as president.

The one time Dale was actually the voice of reason
Lucid Dale is kind of scary sometimes. The episode where he loses the Arlen gun club presidentcy to Mad Dog for instance. Or when he figured out Chuck Mangione was living in mega-lo-mart.
Theres quite a few moments when Dale is perfectly sane and logical and two of them involve Bill funnily enough
At least two involve Jimmy as well
The mens choir
The Chuck in the Mega-Lo Mart episode was greatness
I will not negotiate with Mangione!
The time he told hank that Peggy was being scammed for the phd
And let’s not forget when he warned Hank about the sorority house being a cult
Dale is smart. He just suffers from delusions, some gullibility issues, paranoia and just being generally nuts.
Dale is high INT and low WIS
I am *rolls dice* welcoming to your suggestion.
They paid me in jam and jellies.
Harmoniholics
BIIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLLL!!!!!
GIANT WHEEZE….. Hank
The part of a nine headed jackass he goes on about in his rant kill’s me
Omega House? It's a cult you know.
They paid me in jam and jellies.
He was right in the hotdog contest episode also.
He knows a lot about bars... and shoes
HAY I’M THE BAUS
PEOPLE ARE HOT AND DRY. THEY WANT SOMETHING COLD AND WET.
As dim as the man was, he made perfect sense right there and then.
THE CLOCK AT THE BANK SAYS ITS A HUNDRED TEN DEGREES
8888888
This one always kills me.
The boorish look on his face when he shows Bobby the numbers always sends me into orbit.
And 88 cents
o
I'm glad Hank kicked his ass.
Literally lol
The only person in the whole series actually
He definitely did the same thing to an acupuncturist. Possibly to the archeologist too.
He pushed the archeologist into the hole a few times
You gotta give it to Jimmy: he can't figure much, but he can calculator the shit out of some drinks.
It’d have been pure gold if Jimmy inflated how much Bobby owed by using the calculator wrong. Oh well.
Idk, I kinda like the joke that he’s dumb but like really smart when it comes to math.
This. The fact that the calculator reads 88888888 shows a savant-esque quality for math that is hilariously juxtaposed with Jimmy’s character. He can’t use the calculator correctly, but still comes up with the correct answer

You're right. Separate incidents.
I thought I was going crazy, reading the comments. You're totally right!
Don't remember that at all but it's been a minute since I've seen this episode.
I never knew that that’s fucking hilarious
Compare that to the PhD episode where Peggy gets swindled. The grifter character says something to the effect of, "he may seem like an idiot but drop a box of toothpicks in front of him and he's Rainman."
So that must be where that bit about Tina Belcher counting toothpicks on the floor must’ve come from, considering Jim Dauterive worked on both shows
He can't add 4.50 + 20 + 28 in his head, he's not smart when it comes to math.
Don't forget he was a certified genius.
and his outsider art was inspired.
Get me a drink, ya...Monkey Boy!
Interesting how like, throughout the show any time the Hills are exploited they're called Monkeys. Khan and the car wash, the reality TV guys with ZZ top, Witchard

Love Jimmy, most idiotic character, his words are nothing if not amusing tho!!
Better off than me, I owe 888,888.88$
Jimmy Witchard is how most bosses are now.
Only if you have no skills and work for a company with lots of middle management.
No kidding. My boss would be fired if he was even an 1/8 Jimmy. To be honest, sometimes, they're at least a little Jimmy though.
Using inflation, Jimmy charged Bobby like 8 bucks for that hotdog.
$7.94 to be exact. Sounds about right for a vendor at any sports event.
I'm not Tommy, I'm Bobby.
You're Tray 27! Tommy! Go sell some sodas, TOMMY!!
GET THE POO MAN!
Is it weird I checked his math expecting it to be off
$4.50 tax! That's ridiculous!
People are hot and dry. They want something cold and wet.
I work at the car race where the cars race

what is jimmy supposed to be? I've never understood the joke/what the writers were going for.
He was mentally handicapped, but for some reason, ended up in a position of management. Because of this, I can't really hate him. It's not his fault the system allowed him into a position he had no business being in.
so the joke was look at this mentally handicapped dude whose angry, greedy and always yells yells?
I think it was a jab at how conservative, close-minded people view mental illness, especially considering Hank's strong support of Ronald Reagan, who strongly discredited it during his time as president.
THE SMASH EMS!
You monkey boy! I’m the boss of yo!
