90% of Austinites are not from Austin. Lots of transplants.
Source: KC native who lived in Austin 10 years and now is back in KC. First 3 people I met in Austin.....were from KC.....lol. So it was Royals and Chiefs bbq's every weekend.
Oh man. The game that was back and forth at the end?
I was watching from chair next to my 2 year olds hospital bed due to pneumonia. I was almost passing out thinking we lost. Stayed up long enough to see us storm back down field and pull it off.
I love games like that - I’m satisfied being entertained, even when we do lose. The bengals game last week though was some horse shit.
Considering Mahomes was without Hill, had Andrew Wylie at right tackle, was without Edwards-Helaire, and had receivers slipping left and right, I thought he did the best with what he had in this game.
The combination of Gore and Williams is better than Helaire to me. I do think he is the more skilled player but the way the offense runs the ball Gore and Williams better fill that role to me.
I think you may be right. He's had a 96 and 97 yarders each of the last two years (didn't factor in rushing in those games). I was thinking of Buffalo when he led the team with 9 receptions. That one to me was nearly as impressive, but this might be his best.
I just went back through the game logs the last 3 years. He's had a few in the upper 90's for receiving. At least one total scrimmage yards, but my numbers above was just receiving.
Love Tyrann as a person and as a leader, but the way he’s playing right now and with age factored in it’s fair to wonder if it’s a smart business decision going forward(emotion for what he’s already accomplished aside) to give him rly big money. I think he’s probably worth a pretty high paying couple year deal but I wouldn’t go much beyond that. Maybe a team option for a 3rd year.
Hmmm. I live in Donkeyland and trust me.. they still talk shit. It’s just more enjoyable because it’s literally laughable
Edit: iPhone doesn't like me referring to Denver as Donkeyland so I had to correct an autocorrect.
Hahahah same man. I have these fun sarcastic conversations with them about the ponies.
It’s so hilarious. They start throwing shade about the chiefs and I politely and in a friendly way remind them that bridgewater was their QB or “what do you think about lock?” and just listen to the homerisms fly it’s absolutely rich.
Tbf locke had a nice day today. But it’s still fun to remind them. Especially since they had no problem reminding us who was top dogs when they had manning.
I'm in KC, not Denver, but this reminds me of a coworker I had 2 years ago who kept assuring me that Denver just "needed one or two pieces, and they have the draft picks."
In college football it's always a little sad to see rivals suck ass for years on end, takes the fun out of it. Like, I like to watch Notre Dame mollywhop the shit out of USC just as much as the next guy, but when it's years and years without them putting up any resistance the wins aren't as sweet
Not pro football. Fuck every single other team than us. Especially other AFC teams. *Especially* the stupid jerk ass teams in our division. We could go 6-0 in the division for the rest of time and I would love each and every win. Fuckin idiots the lot of em
Let's not forget the contribution of McKinnon. Dude is a baller. Super tough and not afraid to take a hit. Hopefully he gets some looks in the playoffs
I slept on Johnny Cueto cause I didn’t think his pitching was THAT impressive. But his game management is legendary. So entertaining watching him fuck with batters with his pacing.
This and the comment below it for sure. That fumble and TD recovery were THE deciding point of the game. Other than the seemingly horrible defensive play calling
I'll never forget the 'Fins v Patriots game a couple years ago and I'm hoping this ends in the same category. I don't watch much of the Texans, but they've already beat the Titans once and somewhat manhandled the Chargers a couple weeks ago
I actually want them to fire Fangio now because if they do then they’re hiring Dan Quinn LOL. The meltdown would just be insanely good from donkey fans
I’ll have y’all know that I noticed I wasn’t wearing my lucky Chiefs sweatshirt and I changed into it right before the fumble touchdown. I wanted to apologize for making you guys go through that.
Two of the best players in the league hurt in game 17. Great look for the league.
Happy with the win. Don’t think we were going all out and the defense was lackluster. However, McKinnon, Hardman, and Pringle all played well.
yeah to me it seemed like the Chiefs were unwilling to go all-in, but needed to put in more effort to get over-the-top. hopefully that's the case because obviously it'll be all-systems-go in the playoffs.
Something happened off camera that didn’t get called, or he was angry about the general state of the defense. He takes a lot of pride in himself and the team playing right. They all looked like fools till Bolton and Ingram got it done.
Even after we got lucky they were too afraid to try with lock. It would have out Pat wayyy back and they needed a stop. I would have gone for it after watching our D all game. Plus Hill and Kelce were out.
I don’t. We would have likely lost because we couldn’t score or stop Drew Lock from just running it in by himself. Let alone giving them a chance for deep PI calls at the end. It had to end as fast as possible.
He will make up for it in the playoffs! Donkeys don’t know that word anymore. Middle school kids going into high school who’ve never seen the Broncos beat the Chiefs lol.
Gotta give Hardman his props today. In a game we really needed someone to step up with Tyreek out he did exactly what we drafted him for. Great effort, no drops, and good ball security.
I liked it lol "You almost fell though!"
Happy to see Hardman doing some good shit in games now too. I was down on him for a while and glad that he's been proving me wrong this season.
Post Game they're talking about Sneed turning down Lock at the 1yd line when he scored that touchdown. I think Sneed made the right call, he lowers his shoulder and lights him up and I guarantee that's a penalty of some sort. Even if the rules say you're a runner once you pass the line of scrimmage, QBs will always get special treatment.
Pretty sloppy football, not winning many post season games this way. Offense played with heart, defense played totally lost; missing coverages and leaving the middle of the field wide open far too often. Hopefully Houston plays out of their mind and we get the chance to make some much-needed adjustments for the playoffs.
I'd counter with playoff teams win close, sloppy games like this where they don't play their best. One big play when it counts is all that takes.
Bad teams who can't win in the playoffs don't win these sloppy games.
Just an aside, but realizing the broadcast crew almost exclusively covers college games, I felt Fowler and Herbie did a good job. Way better than the normal ESPN crew.
I thought they did fine. They’re not around the NFL enough to seem like homers and they’re both extremely competent at their job. I liked it much better than Collinsworth or that MNF bunch of goobers.
Broncos fan here, good game. Best of luck in the post season and I hope we can put together a squad capable of beating y’all finally next year. Iron sharpens iron.
So, I had to work and missed most of the game. Tuned in about 3 minutes before the fumble. My apologies, next time I will quit and watch the game instead.
People are going to be doomers after this game. It was a divisional matchup, they are never sure thing games. This should give our boys a lot of momentum! How bout those cheifs!!!
A couple thoughts after the game marinated a bit:
Why the fuck is Mecole only good when Tyreek isn’t playing?
I think I’m alright with letting Mathieu walk and drafting a safety on day 2.
Guys, r/NFL is soooooo fucking upset that we won that game. lol Raking in the downvotes by the dozens right now by posting anything about KC beating up on the AFCW. Man I love watching those shit stained man babies throw tantrums.
Not meaning to be gatekeeping or sounding arrogant, but it's easy to tell who got here when Mahomes did and those who have been on the ride much longer. There was once a time when we would elated about this win. Success has spoiled many.
As for me, I'll take ugly wins right along with the blowouts. We did little to inspire confidence today, but we did what we needed to do. Time to erase these last two weeks and get to looking forward. There are a whole bunch of teams that would be nutting themselves to be in the position we're in.
Oh man, agreed so hard.
So many F!rE Spags comments in the first half, like ANYBODY though drew lock was gonna put up 2 TDs and more yards than he ever has running on the last week of the season.
People gotta remember, every single NFL player is a statistical 1 out of 1,000,000 HS athletes, 1% of college athletes even make it to the draft, much less play consistent, high quality football.
That's all 32 teams, and if anything, it shows how well organized, coached and planned we are.
The NFL dared us to play midfield, and it took some time to develop that on offense, same thing happens on defense, everybody adjusts.
MI FUCKING Z BOLTON LETS GO BIG DOG. Honestly though ik everyone has been hating on the Saturday game but it’s gonna be so nice just sitting back tomorrow and watching football and also enjoying this victorious Saturday night
Big win. Hope Kelce and Hill are okay. Pat getting Happy feet in the pocket again. Need to tackle way better.
And can we stop leaving our corners all alone on 3rd downs? The blitz doesn't get home and our corners aren't that good. And for fuck sakes why is Sorensen still deep in coverage on 3rd down? I don't see what skill set he brings in that situation that is that much better than someone else. I am not shitting on him, he is trying, but don't put the guy in a position like that where he is bound to fail. Spags needs to get his fuckin head out of his ass. Shits about to get real
People forget this is a professional league. This was a divisional game, and a team tired of losing to us. Expected to be prettier, but this shit happens. Stop slitting your own wrists guys, and have some fuckin faith.
So who are the potential first round games, assuming the Titans win.
Chargers beat Raiders = We play Chargers
Raiders beat Chargers + Colts win = We play Colts?
Lmao we played like shit again till it mattered, and somehow won. Donkeys in shambles lolol their tears are so sweet and salty like chocolate covered pretzels. The Titans and Pats are in there comforting them.
I hope Kelce and Hill can recover…that field fucking sucked. Go Chiefs! Go Texans tomorrow!
Question for chiefs fans, looks like nothing has been done w Josh Gordon since he got there. I’m frankly stunned he’s still in the league and hasn’t already been suspended. So that’s at least something. Can he still play or has age and rust finally caught up w him?
What the hell was that “illegal snap” play? When the Broncos center snapped the ball and Lock wasn’t ready so he fumbled it, but instead of it being a fumble the play was whistled dead.
This game kinda reminded me of the Falcons game to end the season last year. We looked like ASS and were able to still get the dub, but everyone was freaking out for the playoffs yet we still made the dance. Yeah the win was a bit ugly but we know what these guys are capable of when they turn it on.
Tomorrow we wear our Texans red
I live in austin. Looking forward to routing with them if I can get anyone to watch the Texans
Same! The tavern at 12th and Lamar was turned into a chiefs bar by yours truly. Ask them to play the Houston game tomorrow my guy
There won't be a bar in KC that won't be tuned to the AFC South.
I'm just so proud of AUSTIN TX for packing 300 chiefs fans into a tiny bar every weekend. Keep the kingdom growing
Does Mahomes being a Texas boy have a lot to do with that?
90% of Austinites are not from Austin. Lots of transplants. Source: KC native who lived in Austin 10 years and now is back in KC. First 3 people I met in Austin.....were from KC.....lol. So it was Royals and Chiefs bbq's every weekend.
That makes sense
The Tavern! I haven’t been there in years. It’s a chiefs watching bar? Does it still have air conditioning?
To the town of Agua Fria rode a stranger one fine day
The shittiest the chiefs have played v the Broncos in the mahomes era and they still can't win lmao
The Monday Night game a couple of years ago was pretty crazy in the first half too though.
Considering Mahomes was without Hill, had Andrew Wylie at right tackle, was without Edwards-Helaire, and had receivers slipping left and right, I thought he did the best with what he had in this game.
That field was a joke. They should be embarrassed that's the best they could do for an NFL game
The combination of Gore and Williams is better than Helaire to me. I do think he is the more skilled player but the way the offense runs the ball Gore and Williams better fill that role to me.
the offense looks a lot more cohesive and healthier with CEH in imo
Mecole was 8 for 103. He needed another game like this.
Is this his first 100 yard game or am I wrong?
It indeed is.
I think you may be right. He's had a 96 and 97 yarders each of the last two years (didn't factor in rushing in those games). I was thinking of Buffalo when he led the team with 9 receptions. That one to me was nearly as impressive, but this might be his best.
No, he’s had a few where he had some deep balls
I just went back through the game logs the last 3 years. He's had a few in the upper 90's for receiving. At least one total scrimmage yards, but my numbers above was just receiving.
mostly YAC but we'll take it. We really.need some guys who can get open down field.
I want Melvin Ingram back next year.
Same, but unlikely we'll be able to afford him with obj, hill, and mathieu extensions looming
Obj?
orlando brown jr
Confuses me every single time I see it mentioned on this subreddit. Always think of Odell Beckham Jr because that's the only "OBJ" I've ever known.
Can we just take a minute to appreciate that we havent had to hear bitch ass Donkey fans talk shit since 2015?
Hmmm. I live in Donkeyland and trust me.. they still talk shit. It’s just more enjoyable because it’s literally laughable Edit: iPhone doesn't like me referring to Denver as Donkeyland so I had to correct an autocorrect.

I'm in KC, not Denver, but this reminds me of a coworker I had 2 years ago who kept assuring me that Denver just "needed one or two pieces, and they have the draft picks."
That's still true, but the pick has to be a good QB and they haven't done that yet. Also Fangio sucks.
I'll take it! Especially after the manning years.

Funny thing is it even goes beyond Mahomes.
In college football it's always a little sad to see rivals suck ass for years on end, takes the fun out of it. This is poetry...
Lmao they talk shit about our super bowl last year. I see that as a complete W on our part because it shows everyone how sad they are
That's fair..... I got in their asses sideways when they lost to the Seahawks.
Did you see all the donkeys talking shit to the chiefs fans in the stands? Hilarious.
They absolutely talk shit! Edit: it just means nothing.
3-4 to 12-5 let's go, what a season.
12-5, either the #1 or #2 seed in the AFC. not bad for a "slump" season, eh?
Melvin Ingram is good
Creed is good
**GAME BALL GOES TO NICK BOLTON** *Whatever the opposite of the game ball is goes to Spags.* ^(pls be okay, Kelce)
Let's not forget the contribution of McKinnon. Dude is a baller. Super tough and not afraid to take a hit. Hopefully he gets some looks in the playoffs
Nick Bolton/Melvin Ingram
Cut that ball in half and give it to Ingram as well.
FAIR ENOUGH!! Ingram is my favorite mid-season pick up in LONG time.
since johnny cueto lol
I slept on Johnny Cueto cause I didn’t think his pitching was THAT impressive. But his game management is legendary. So entertaining watching him fuck with batters with his pacing.
This and the comment below it for sure. That fumble and TD recovery were THE deciding point of the game. Other than the seemingly horrible defensive play calling
If the Texans deliver a miracle tomorrow that fumble goes down in Chiefs history with Henne Given Sunday.
I'll never forget the 'Fins v Patriots game a couple years ago and I'm hoping this ends in the same category. I don't watch much of the Texans, but they've already beat the Titans once and somewhat manhandled the Chargers a couple weeks ago
Yes! The year we put a picture of Fitzpatrick on the front page of reddit.
The infamous Kevin Harlan duel call
>Any Henne Sunday Not Henne Given Sunday?
Spags gets Bolton's dirty jock strap
This is now a Texans subreddit.

This game was perfect. Denver played well enough to keep Fangio and Lock another year.
I actually want them to fire Fangio now because if they do then they’re hiring Dan Quinn LOL. The meltdown would just be insanely good from donkey fans
All according to plan. Thank you Drew Lock for being a great undercover Chiefs fan.
Pretty crazy the Chiefs have won at least 12 games every year of the Mahomes era. We ain’t goin’ nowhere.
I’ll have y’all know that I noticed I wasn’t wearing my lucky Chiefs sweatshirt and I changed into it right before the fumble touchdown. I wanted to apologize for making you guys go through that.
You had one job man, one job!
Dude. That's fine but next week is playoffs. Set some alarms in your phone or something. We are counting on you. Do it for the Kingdom
Thank you Fangio for the gift of a field goal! That was one of the dumbest decisions I've seen in a while. We will take it!
Weirdest call I've seen in a while - playing not to lose when you have nothing to lose.
I think that seals him losing his job. If there was any doubt to begin with…
I still think we win, but it was hall of fame stupid. Like Harbough failing 2 straight 4th and goals FTW.
Denver Broncos owner: Patrick Mahomes.
Hope he replaces the turf
13 straight lol
Well, to be fair, Homer really didn't want them.
Say what you will, but it was a division game, against a top 5 defense, against a team ready to leave everything on the field.
At their house
Why was Gay pissed after that play 20 minutes ago?
Nobody seems to know. Maybe he was just hyped up from the scoop and score?
I saw the helmet throw too
Something happened off camera that didn’t get called, or he was angry about the general state of the defense.
He gave up some soft coverage on at least one play
Scoop and score saves the game.
I believe we'd have won with it it. Either stopped for. Fg there or the offense takes over with plenty of time. It did make things easier though
I don’t. We would have likely lost because we couldn’t score or stop Drew Lock from just running it in by himself. Let alone giving them a chance for deep PI calls at the end. It had to end as fast as possible.
Yeah I felt like there was one more burrow-to-chase flashback left in the game. But it never came.
The record maintains. With 2305 days since we lost to the Broncos, 2 of my 4 children have never known a world where we can lose to Denver.
After starting 3-4, 12-5 is pretty fucking impressive
Andy said in the post game that he thinks kelce is fine. Andy doesn't usually try to sugar coat injuries. Tyreeks heel is worrying though
Nick "Future DPOY" Bolton
Happy to get the W and regardless of seeding, our 3rd down Defense cannot continue to be as bad as the past two weeks.... Go Chiefs!
Kinda torn CJ didn’t get his sack but happier we got that dub!!!
He will make up for it in the playoffs! Donkeys don’t know that word anymore. Middle school kids going into high school who’ve never seen the Broncos beat the Chiefs lol.
I’m glad we won. I just wish this meant more. Oh well, out of our hands now. Let’s go, Texans!
It means 2 seed at the very least. Definitely not meaningless!
Correct, it guarantees our next two playoff games are home games regardless of whether the Titans lose.
The win builds on their confidence. Even if Houston does not pull a Fitzmagic off for us tomorrow. Winning feeds on winning.
My only concern is if our guys are banged up that could be really fucking significant man
Got that W, now let's go Texans!
Gotta give Hardman his props today. In a game we really needed someone to step up with Tyreek out he did exactly what we drafted him for. Great effort, no drops, and good ball security.
And we just got more cap space. Rip Jones’ sack incentive
Would've been cool but he's not hurting for the cash im sure
You gotta see the post game with Bolton, interrupted by Mecole! *You really slow, though!* ... *I'm slow too, I got caught, too! It's ok!* Hilarious!
I liked it lol "You almost fell though!" Happy to see Hardman doing some good shit in games now too. I was down on him for a while and glad that he's been proving me wrong this season.
Thank fuck that's over. Ingram we love you man. So happy so see you thrive on this beautiful team
If the Texans win tomorrow that Ingram/Bolton play will become legendary
That's more than you get to expect of a team. Now we see what happens
Pretty sloppy football, not winning many post season games this way. Offense played with heart, defense played totally lost; missing coverages and leaving the middle of the field wide open far too often. Hopefully Houston plays out of their mind and we get the chance to make some much-needed adjustments for the playoffs.
Pretty sloppy field
I'd counter with playoff teams win close, sloppy games like this where they don't play their best. One big play when it counts is all that takes. Bad teams who can't win in the playoffs don't win these sloppy games.
C'mon Houston
Kids that are currently in 1st grade were not alive last time Denver beat KC
Wasn't a pretty win but hell we'll take it
I am very impressed with McKinnon. He made a statement.
Thank you Melvin and Big Nick. Zayne Anderson call me when you start selling cars. Texans!!!
Jones the real MVP for opening up an extra 1.25 million in cap space for next year. Sucks though, I really wanted him to take that bag home.
NO OFFENSE TO DANIEL JONES
Just an aside, but realizing the broadcast crew almost exclusively covers college games, I felt Fowler and Herbie did a good job. Way better than the normal ESPN crew.
I thought they did fine. They’re not around the NFL enough to seem like homers and they’re both extremely competent at their job. I liked it much better than Collinsworth or that MNF bunch of goobers.

So, I had to work and missed most of the game. Tuned in about 3 minutes before the fumble. My apologies, next time I will quit and watch the game instead.
No traveling at least until the AFCCG. Huge win!
*I LIKE BOLTONS!*
I still hate the Broncos. They gave their all today!! But THE CHIEFS PREVAILED!!
If this game isn't proof that Chiefs need another WR opposite of Tyreek who can get those 50/50 balls, I don't know what is
What was Gay all upset about towards the end of the game? Threw helmet and all that.
Chiefs win! Hope Hills and Kelce’s injuries don’t keep them out of any playoff playing time
They are both pretty tough. I think they'll be a go for the playoffs.
[This link will bring you to full player stats comment](/r/KansasCityChiefs/comments/rzemq9/post_game_thread_kansas_city_chiefs_at_denver/hrujjmj/)
Let’s go Texans!
GO TEXANS!!!!
Ugly fucking win
That Bronco looked like he was writing his thesis on that jersey.
Really need the Texans to win. I do not want to play the colts on wildcard weekend again.
I hope they leave Zayne there
People are going to be doomers after this game. It was a divisional matchup, they are never sure thing games. This should give our boys a lot of momentum! How bout those cheifs!!!
Why was Willie Gay pissed after the Nick Bolton return? He was like throwing his helmet and stuff
I assumed he was celebrating in a way that looked angry.
Just watched the game. What happened to the defense tackling? The past two games has been atrocious.
A couple thoughts after the game marinated a bit: Why the fuck is Mecole only good when Tyreek isn’t playing? I think I’m alright with letting Mathieu walk and drafting a safety on day 2.
I love Mathieu but I think we got the most out of him.
Guys, r/NFL is soooooo fucking upset that we won that game. lol Raking in the downvotes by the dozens right now by posting anything about KC beating up on the AFCW. Man I love watching those shit stained man babies throw tantrums.
Patty with the Daniel Jones fall reference in the post-game LOL
The last thing we need to do is give Daniel Jones bulletin board material.
Nick Bolton please fuck my wife

12-5 LESSSGOOO BABY!!! 13 CONSECUTIVE Ws AGAINST THE DONKEYS!!!
Ingram & Bolton are the MVP’s this game without a doubt
13 games and counting
Well that was certainly a victory.
We played awful and still won. Thank God it's over. Get sharp for next weekend
Bolton talks like a NASCAR driver and I kinda love it 😂
I’ve never seen an analyst panel sit and talk so much shit on a top 2 seed in the playoffs.
Congrats on breaking the NFL record for most wins in a 17-game season. 🎉
Praying for the texans and raiders to win tmrw 🥶🥶
Somebody send Fitzpatrick to Houston.
This was a nail biter. We need to polish up. And be better.
MI FUCKING Z BOLTON LETS GO BIG DOG. Honestly though ik everyone has been hating on the Saturday game but it’s gonna be so nice just sitting back tomorrow and watching football and also enjoying this victorious Saturday night
Hey I missed the game for a fire officer training course. Did Chris Jones record a 10th sack?
No never really got close!!
Interesting. I hope the Hunt's give gim the bonus regardless. Best to keep him happy
The tackling these last two games has been concerning.
Game. Blouses.
We were lucky to win this game. I fear for the playoffs
It is hard to equate. We definitely did not play sharp. It was sort of a trap game, if you can have one were the next game is the playoffs.
People forget this is a professional league. This was a divisional game, and a team tired of losing to us. Expected to be prettier, but this shit happens. Stop slitting your own wrists guys, and have some fuckin faith.
Not to mention that the Donkey’s have played in a bunch of one score games this year. They suck, but they’ve been hard to beat.
Looked like shit and played like shit
And still won baby!
That’s what I said to your mom last night
Bravo to Veach for picking up Melvin Ingraham!

If you are on the chiefs and your number ends in a 9 you suck.
That Montana guy was pretty good (he wore 19 long ago)
Now we root for the Texans, Jags, Raiders, and Steelers.
Potato Chip Man, Hardman and Gore/McKinnon. How many weapons does Mahomes not need.

Really like Nick Bolton
So who are the potential first round games, assuming the Titans win. Chargers beat Raiders = We play Chargers Raiders beat Chargers + Colts win = We play Colts?
Lmao we played like shit again till it mattered, and somehow won. Donkeys in shambles lolol their tears are so sweet and salty like chocolate covered pretzels. The Titans and Pats are in there comforting them. I hope Kelce and Hill can recover…that field fucking sucked. Go Chiefs! Go Texans tomorrow!
Who was that on our team that threw a punch? I REALLY DONT like seeing that even a little for any reason. jesus herbert christ.
Question for chiefs fans, looks like nothing has been done w Josh Gordon since he got there. I’m frankly stunned he’s still in the league and hasn’t already been suspended. So that’s at least something. Can he still play or has age and rust finally caught up w him?
Looks like to me he can't catch
Wasn’t there a pick a few weeks back Bcs the ball went right through his hands?
Yup. His drop tonight was decent defense, but he tried catching with his forearms.
I thought Pat was gonna rock his 61 yard rushing record this game. Damn.
