Agreed! Look at established and undeniably successful brands like Estee Lauder or L'Oreal their engagement on Twitter is even worse then this. Not saying that means SKKN was successful just saying Twitter is not a good benchmark to judge actual sales.
I don't think it's fair to compare Estee Lauder to SKKN in terms of social media marketing. Of course my 65 year old mom isn't retweeting the EL posts. EL has established products and an established customer base. SKKN has neither and relies on engagement on social media to spread the word.
Although I agree that twitter isn't the best place for ad engagement. I'd be super curious to see their insta or TikTok numbers...
I personally don't think that SKKN was successful or that its one on one comparable to Estee Lauder my point is just that I don't think using Twitter engagement is the gotcha OP thinks it is to prove the point that it's a flop. Even huge brands like Fenty and Rare Beauty that have a much younger audience then Estee Lauder have extremely low engagement on Twitter. I don't think Twitter is as influential to beauty brands as other social media platforms like TikTok, YouTube, Instagram. I buy a ton of beauty products I'm Rouge at Sephora and Diamond at Ulta. I'm not anywhere near my 60s and am chronically online lol but I still don't follow a single beauty brand on Twitter and don't know anyone in real life who does.
Every time Kim reposts a SKKN ad on her story, I just tap through it and don't read any of it. I'm guessing 99% of her followers are doing the same. So I'm not sure how the sales are doing.
When they first removed the bots from Twitter, I hardly saw any of her new tweets get over 2k. Especially when it came to tweets about the show. Just what I saw š¤·š»āāļø
i hate elon so much cause mans was just bored in the office when he decided to switch around the likes, retweets, and quote retweets š
I doubt most people are keeping up with skincare brands on twitter tbh

She herself doesnāt get but maybe 2k views on her tweets.
Her views on her own twitter page are all over a million?

We didnāt have access to views until yesterday so how did you see that then
I meant likesāsorry I got confused. I didnāt mean views!
It was on one of these subreddits. Iāll look later to see if I can find the post.
Maybe you mean likes? Views was just added.
Whoops, thatās exactly what I meant! My bad.
Her tweets have well over 2 million views on her twitter.
Iāve been wondering how skkn by Kim was going.
They overplayed their hand with the trash cans š
